We've eaten at many different Korean restaurants in the greater Sacramento area, and this is the best as far as the food. Parking is terrible, the restaurant is a bit crowded and noisy, but the food is worth it. A great selection of banchan (small dishes) to start off, all very good quality. We usually come with a group of people, which lets you order a variety of dishes to share. Dolsot bibimbap had a great array of ingredients, served in a hot stone pot. Galbi is very tasty (ask for scissors to cut it off the bone). Mandu was tasty (but be careful, it came out very hot, don't burn your mouth). My favorite is the Haemool Pajun, lots of seafood. Everything we get on each visit is tasty and freshly prepared. Again, best if you can go with a group (we had a reservation for 8 people). Always a busy place.
The server was very welcoming as soon as I walked in today and took my order promptly. The food came out quickly, within about 10–15 minutes. One thing that really stood out about this restaurant was the variety of banchan—there were so many of them, which was a great touch. The service was excellent overall. She checked in multiple times to make sure everything was okay and refilled my rice and banchan without hesitation. I had a great experience here. Shout out to Jaeda for the awesome service!
Angus galbi $20.99 pretax at lunch vs $32.99 at dinner. Meats come out on the sizzling plate with miso soup. 15 sides with 2 of them from on larger plates. This is one of my favorite korean places to eat at because of the sheer number and size of side dishes. We can usually find free parking in the front. We usually go to oto's (japanese supermarket) after for hot pot meat and sometimes salmon sashimi.
A wonderful and authentic Korean restaurant in Sac. There is another YD tofu house- but this is the first. The Banchan (반찬) (or korean side dishes) is excellent and they give so much and free refills. The tofu sounds are excellent and these been doing it for many years. The beef bulgogi is good and my kids enjoy the teriyaki chicken but the best is the korean short ribs or Kalbi/galbi. It's soo good and the marinating is spot on. As most korean restuants- it's not cheap- but the food is really good and I personally enjoy ordering from the menu versus an AYCE korean bbq buffet. Try also the korean pancake along with the items listed above. Enjoy!
We stopped by and found this hidden gem. They offer the crab dish that is not common to find in the other Korean restaurants (or at least the ones we’ve been to); though the cold noodles we’d like to try wasn’t there 🥲 their small dishes were impressive - super fresh kimchi, and 14 small dishes! The deep fried chicken pieces were extremely crunchy, and their sauce was super unique and tasty! It is quite spacious and they also have separate rooms to host more private parties. We can’t wait to try more items on their menu on our next trip! Update: we came back again! Food was delicious as usual. I tried their bimbibap with cheese, tofu soup, galbi and seafood pancake this time. Very fulfilling! Adding new photos from our most recent visit - still top notch! I counted 11 side dishes, oh wow! This time we tried the bimbibap on hot stove with squid, and seafood noodle soup with clam.
Defintely one of my favorite korean restaurant. Their banchan never disappoint! Each item is delish. Most korean restaurants have about 5-7, YD has 14 and over the past 3years, the amount stayed the same. It gets busy on the weekend esp for dinner. Their food does come in bigger portion, so despite the price it is worth it.
It doesn't look like much from the outside but the dining area is clean and spacious. We shared the fried chicken and beef bulgogi. Chicken was crisp and flavorful but the bulgogi was outstanding, delicious and tender. Side dishes are ample in variety and serving. A great restaurant to introduce yourself to Korean cuisine. I will definitely return.
Honestly the best Korean food I’ve ever had! They give you so many side dishes and the entrées are absolutely amazing! And the owners are beyond helpful and always cheery! I suggest getting the rock bowl it’s to die for! They have a wide selection of sake and soggy. This is a great place to take friends or family. I highly recommend going anytime of the week.
The side dishes they give you at the beginning is my favorite. The rice is amazingly sticky. The food is a bit pricey but well worth it. The staff is kind and helpful. Always good food when we come here. We always go for the beef short rib, hits the spot every time and the onioned that they lay the meat on is 👌. I enjoy the tofu soup too. I look forward to branching out and trying their other dishes I'm not familiar with. 😽
Loved eating at this Korean restaurant. Lots of delicious foods selection to choose from. I especially loved their seafood tofu soup - spicy of course. All their BBQ items such as the teriyaki chicken, short ribs, and beef are also very delicious. I especially loved their small appetizers items. I can literally ate those items and be full. But can resist ordering more foods. Customer service is excellent, waitress constantly bringing appetizers as we finished them. Filled our waters without the need to ask, and always checking on use if we need anything. Highly recommend this place.
The seafood pancake is the best i've had so far. So good, cooked all the way yet not overcooked. Definitely recommended getting this dish! Bossam, bibimbap, la style galbi and yangnyum fried chicken were good as well. They also had a generous amount of banchans! Only thing would be the parking, its hard to find a spot & getting in/out is also difficult.
Being new to the area, my family and I were looking for a good Korean restaurant to eat at. The food was decent and tasty enough. The big plus was that they had a ton of side dishes. I would definitely come here again.
I rarely post reviews, but this was honestly unbelievable. The $18.99 seafood tofu soup came with only two clams, one shrimp, and one oyster, and I confirmed this with the waiter. If you’re okay paying nearly $19 for this amount of seafood, go ahead and order it. Otherwise, choose somewhere else.
Place is larger than it looks and they have private-ish rooms. Waitress didn't know what kind of tea they served (barley), and said they didn't serve hot water (It's 2025..this can't possibly still be a thing). Had to flag down the waitress every single time. Didn't ever offer to refill hot barley tea. Soon tofu broth was very similar to Yukgaejang broth. The Yukgaejang wasn't shredded beef. They don't have some items on their menu like eundaegujorim. Didn't love their banchan although they have a variety. Kimchi was mild but I liked it. Seafood pancake was good but unlike most seafood pancakes I've had in Seoul or Los Angeles. Not in a hurry to return.
Used to love this place. Banchan was plentiful. Last time I was there we didn't get any more banchan that was brought out, and it came out after our entrees. I didn't give me an egg for my soondubu, the only time I have ever eaten soondubu with out egg. I had to get up and find my own scissors and couldn't get a refill on water. I won't be going back again. To clarify I don't expect service at a Korean restaurant to be "friendly". However I do expect the service to be adequate.
Our whole family loves to dine at this restaurant and we often bring friends here for dinner. Today, as usual, we brought our relatives from abroad to dine here. Everything was wonderful, with delicious food and a joyful atmosphere. Unfortunately, when we were halfway through the meal, I noticed that it was like a light rain falling from the air above the dishes. I didn't take it seriously at first, but it kept falling at irregular intervals. I carefully looked for the source and found that it was from the air conditioner on the ceiling. We don’t know how much of the dust that falls from the wind outlet has already been ingested into our stomachs? The store probably has never cleaned the air outlet of the air conditioner, right? There is so much dust that it looks like dust rain. It must have been accumulating for a very long time! It was really disgusting and I wanted to vomit🤮... I told the waiter and showed her the video of the dust and crumbs falling. She said sorry softly and then asked us if we wanted to move to another seat to continue eating? This is too much, who would want to continue eating rice with dust? I didn’t want to eat dishes mixed with dust at all. I had no appetite and felt like vomiting. I replied that I didn’t want to eat anymore, but the waiter asked us if we wanted to take the food away. Oh my god! I don't want to stay here any longer. I am very disappointed with the standard of the restaurant, after all, this is our favorite Korean restaurant. By the way, they have another branch. We went there not long after it opened. One of the dishes was sweet and sour chicken. We only took a few pieces of the chicken and stopped eating because the chicken was not fresh. It tasted like fishy meat that had been frozen for a long time. I told the store clerk about it but they didn't respond at all. They showed no respect for the customers' feelings. From now on I will only go to this restaurant where I ate today. But I didn't expect that this store didn't care about its customers. Apart from reporting the dust problem to the service staff, we also told the counter staff when checking out, but they were only concerned with collecting money and didn't care about the impact on the customers, and they didn't offer any compensation. The same problem occurred in two stores. As long as no one was killed, can they ignore any other problems? It’s none of their business whether the food is clean or fresh, because they are not the ones eating it anyway. I ordered a table full of delicious food, but before I was full I discovered there was dust in it. I couldn't eat any more. The store's attitude towards food hygiene is really disheartening. There is more than one air outlet for the air conditioner, and dust will fall everywhere. I believe that everyone who has ever eaten there should have tasted dust. We are not the only ones, but we have never noticed it.
