A simply amazing dinner. We started with the cheese plate, tuna tartare, and a couple glasses of the Schramsberg brute rose. Bass and NY strip for mains along with the Pinot noir vins au vins and the Gruner veltliner. For dessert, two cappuccinos and both the profiteroles and six of the drop-dead fresh cookies. Service was out of this world.
Awesome everything! Great venue, great views, delicious food. Prices are ok for having one Michelin star. Service is great, fast, friendly. Their bread is delicious and freshly baked. Loved the shrimp risotto. Salad was ok, nothing too exciting. Peach dessert was interesting and full of flavors. Great wine list. A must in Napa Valley.
Reservations are required during this time. I didn't realize this till we got here since it's my first time here since the start of the pandemic. They were kind enough to figure something out and were able to seat us outdoors eventually even tho we had a larger party. Truly outstanding customer service! The dishes themselves are always such a treat. I usually like coming here in the afternoon to grab drinks and small bites while enjoying the beautiful scenery of Napa Valley. Highly recommend it here!
This was such a fabulous dinner. The food is delicious, the setting is beautiful, and the service is amazing. Surprisingly for us, we went with the prix-fixe menu over the tasting menu but I'm glad that we did, every single course was wonderful. My favorites were the scallops and the risotto. I also loved how they brought multiple extra bites in between courses. This was truly a wonderful dining experience and I think I'll have to dine here every time I visit Napa.
Great spot for lunch with a beautiful view! We started off with the tuna tartare (beautifully platted) and split the burger, which was cooked perfectly. We followed up our meal with cappuccinos, which included bite-sized chocolate biscotti - a great touch! The service staff was friendly, attentive and helpful.
We were lucky to be seated immediately, walking in for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. Service was prompt & friendly. The food was fresh & delicious. After they overheard that it was our wedding anniversary, they kindly included a chocolate message on our dessert. We can't wait to go back with friends.
Excellent dining and atmosphere at Auberge. Everything was firing on all cylinders and I can see why this ranks as one of the best spots in America, let alone the Napa area. We loved the pumpkin soup, sunchoke soup, diver scallops, and quail. Update: Jan 2025- we came back for dinner and loved it just as much. Highly recommend.
We comes back here once a year for our anniversary celebration. We had our engagement party here 12 years ago. I always enjoy the peaceful view here. They renovated the lobby and change all the doors and windows recently. Service is always really attentive. Good food here. I love the short ribs. Peach Panna Cotta also really refreshing too.
Auberge is one of our favorite places in Napa! We came here for our anniversary lunch most recently and it was such a wonderful experience. The views were beautiful, the service was great, and the food was delicious!! For a michelin star restaurant, their lunch is a great price point — the ambience itself is worth it. We dined in the warm sun overlooking rolling hills and vineyards, and every dish was well-balanced and executed to perfection. The pork chop in particular was delicious, so tender and juicy when typically neither me nor my partner really enjoy pork chop. The desserts were wonderfully fruity and delicate, a great way to end the meal. Even though it was only three courses, we were so fully we could barely eat dinner! So come hungry 🤤
The view was spectacular as the sun was setting, did have to ask to turn off the heaters because they keep it toasty here. Squid ink linguine was our favorite of the night (not pictured sadly) and the duck entree had entirely way too much duck; i couldn’t finish it. everything else was very pleasant.
We made an incredible mistake eating here for lunch the day we went to French Laundry BUT it was a great experience. The meal is $105/person and comes with a cocktail or glass of house wine. The meal itself is 3-courses and everything we had was delicious. The staff was friendly and the views were breathtaking. They have very reasonably priced wine by the bottle as well. Come hungry!!!
One of the best meals we had in Napa Valley. The location is atop a mountainside so if you’re not staying at the resort property, just keep the dark windy road drive in mind for dinner plans. The dishes were distinct and full of excellent flavors. The heavy dinnerware, the beautiful napkins, and specific drink ware all make this an elevated dining experience. We spent $750 for the two of us and consider it worth the price, hands down.
What an amazing experience. At first, I was cautious because of all the buzz about being a Michelin-starred restaurant. However, I did not want to set my expectation high to be then disappointed with the experience. Since our arrival at the place, the whole experience was superb. We were received by a courteous valet parking personnel. We made our way to the restaurant and immediately found the hostess, who immediately congratulated us on our anniversary after identifying ourselves. She then took us to our table, which had a fantastic view of the valley. We were served by Miguel, who took excellent care of us. Very attentive personnel all around. We never felt rushed. About the food, it was just divine!!!! Because we were for lunch, we had the three-course meal. Each of us ordered different things, so we had a nice sampler of many items on the menu. All of the items were done to perfection. Super tasty and plentiful. The cocktails were also of the highest quality. One aspect that we loved was when my wife asked what wine would go better with her food. Miguel brought a sampler of two wines. We did pay for the wine sampler, but this is preferable to having a lousy wine. Overall, amazing culinary experience. Already making plans to go back.
It was our first time at the restaurant at auberge and it did not disappoint. Such an elegant pretty hotel with a beautiful restaurant and gorgeous view. They have a very good wine list and the day it happened to dine there was Napa restaurant week so we were able to get the three course tasting for $65, every course was up to standard. We all enjoyed our food very much would come back for another visit thank you.
My girlfriend and I came here for our anniversary and it was nothing short of extraordinary! I see why they've had a Michelin star all these years. We opted for the four course menu and selected different dishes so we were able to try 8 different things in total! The only con I can think of is that the entire dinner took ~3 hours. The time in between the 2nd and 3rd course took almost 40 minutes. Service 10/10: The service was great - our server explained every dish thoroughly while ordering which helped our decision making as we're not as familiar with French cuisine. They were also super attentive Food 9/10: All the dishes were amazing! The highlights for us were the scallops, ahi tuna, gnocchi, duck breast and prime beef (basically everything XD). The gnocchi really surprised us - it was soft and pillowy, almost melt in your mouth. I would say for a tasting menu the portions are actually very generous - we took home leftovers after it all! Atomosphere 8/10: We went at night so couldn't really see the view :( The interior was beautiful but nothing too unique. Overall, very nice but nothing too memorable! Would highly recommend this place for anyone! For two after tip it came to ~$500 but definitely worth the experience!
Great food, excellent service and amazing views. The food was well prepared, very tasty and quite filling, the.oortuons were surprisingly large. We enjoyed everything, from the service at the parking lot , the table service, the food, the knowledge by the entire staff and the brilliant views. Thanks!! And see you soon
Great fine dining experience with great food and kind staff. Gnocchi and Sea Bass were the best among what our group ordered. They provide kids meals such as burgers and pizza so you don’t need to worry about ordering a full course meal for your kids. While the main server provided a perfect service, other sub servers seemed not fully trained as Michelin star level yet (e.g. putting wrong plates which is different from what each ordered) I would definitely revisit!
We came there to celebrate my birthday. It was The best food and service that we received during our trip in Napa. The scallop appetizer and main course duck are excellent. The staffs are well train and very attentive. They make us feel special during our dining experience.
Excellent. Wonderful experience here. We both had the four course option with the wine pairings. Food was great and hearty portions for a tasting menu. For us, it was so much that we couldn’t accept dessert (which is a rarity for me.) Wine pairings were on point, food was well crafted, and service was outstanding. Recommended.
Had an absolutely tremendous lunch at the restaurant. This is a gorgeous Michelin star hotel with a fantastic 1 Michelin star, and with a view surpassed by very few. It was a beautiful day and perfect for leisurely outdoor dining, with stellar service provided by David and the unforgettable ambiance of the surroundings. We chose the 3 course option and each was divine. The WILD SHRIMP SALAD, SAUTÉED NORTHERN HALIBUT, CABERNET BRAISED SHORT RIB, and unbelievable chocolate desserts were to die for. It was like a week of vacation in two hours and we hated to leave. A true haven.
My husband and I dinned for dinner and I selected the four course option without wine pairings. The staff, particularly Jackson Whitman, was very accommodating with menu substitutions and flexibility. For my first course, I was craving a salad and although not on the menu, he kindly offered a house salad and it was very fresh. My second course selection was the roasted cauliflower, a main course option yet substituted. For my third course I enjoyed the potato gnocchi and every bite literally melted in my mouth. This was my third time tasting this dish and it is always consistent, delicious, and memorable. Lastly, dessert was apple cider donuts (WOW). Between the courses, we were offered complementary bites of lobster and tuna tartar plus a palate cleanser. I did try a holiday cocktail called the Golden Mule and it was average. The food was Michelin star caliber, atmosphere charming and comfortable, and great service from most of the team. Jackson’s professionalism, relaxed demeanor, and detailed knowledge/presentation of the food courses confirms why I always look forward to returning.
A memorable Michelin-star experience overall. We had the four-course dinner, and most of the dishes were outstanding—rich in flavor, beautifully plated, and thoughtfully crafted. The appetizers and desserts were especially exceptional, showcasing depth and creativity. The only slight letdown was the main course: I had requested the lamb to be well-done, but it arrived undercooked, and the halibut was a bit underwhelming in flavor. That said, the service, ambiance, and overall culinary experience were truly top-tier. Would definitely return for the rest of the menu.
The Restaurant at Auberge du Soleil was truly a standout dining experience on our trip. I highly recommend visiting for lunch—not only for the stunning, picturesque views but also for the more affordable prix fixe menu. We made our lunch reservation a month in advance. While we had the option to be seated indoors immediately upon arrival, we chose to wait an extra 20 minutes for an outdoor table. The breathtaking views made the wait absolutely worthwhile. Our group of four ordered different dishes to share and sample, which added to the experience. The service was exceptional, and most of the dishes were delightful. My personal favorites were the Pumpkin Bisque (with lobster) and the Cabernet Braised Short Rib—both were outstanding!
This is without a doubt the best brunch we’ve ever enjoyed! It was also the best meal we had when visiting Napa (and Sonoma) on this trip! We came in for brunch on a Saturday and were fortunate to be seated right along the railing overlooking the valley below. Our server was incredible… his knowledge of not only the menu, but also every ingredient and the actual preparation of everything was incredible! Everything we asked about the menu, he gave us a great description! Everything we ordered came out amazing!!! Fresh ingredients, amazing and unique preparation, and unbelievable flavor! Can’t recommend enough for folks to stop in and try their brunch… or any meal for that matter as I’m sure they’re all great here!
Amazing view and service during brunch. We got our starter drinks with a basket of pastries (bread, muffin and scone). We ordered three items each from the prix fixe menu, all delicious! From the beginnings, we got the gnocchi and octopus. Great flavors and texture. The pork chop was so tender and juicy, fantastic! The sea bass was good as well. We got one chocolate dessert and a persimmon cake dessert. I really liked the 70% Vietnamese chocolate. The pacing of the food was good and service was attentive with water and clearing our crumbs from the table. There was complimentary valet parking when we arrived. Definitely a memorable birthday brunch!
The restaurant at auberge - not to be confused with the separate resort - exceeded our expectations. 5 stars all around from service to food quality. We came for a birthday and enjoyed four courses but opted out of dessert. I love that they are flexible with their menu and allow each person to do a different amount of courses and skip dessert if preferred. I attached photos. Expensive but normal for a Michelin star restaurant. A party of 2 will easily spend $500+. Totally worth it
Love of the finer things in life? Opulence and elegance tickle your fancy? Collector of unforgettable memories that you can cherish for a lifetime? Then you must visit The Restaurant at Auberge Du Soleil. Their bartender-crafted cocktails are top notch, but please send the Sommelier my way! The farm-to-table, freshly harvested ingredients, topped with ethically-sourced protein like yellowfin tuna, paired with a bottle of Billecart Salmon Brut Rosé, while inhaling the panoramic view of wine country…. are all the reasons why The Restaurant at Auberge Du Soleil is the region's “must experience” culinary destination for more than 40 years. The Restaurant’s legacy is unmatched and worthy of revisits!
From the moment we walk through the front door we knew we were in for a special night. We were promptly seating at a lovely table on the terrace overlooking the Napa Valley. We were immediately greeted by Michael our captain. Michael’s approach for his work made our night even more special. Michael spent time and explained in great detail almost every item on the menu with passion and enthusiasm. After ordering we were offered a perfectly paired wine to complement our dinner selections. The beauty of this is that the wine is offered in 3oz or 6oz pours. So if you like to try different wines you are not tasked with a full glass. The food was next level. The presentation was something out of a magazine. The flavor profiles stimulated every taste bud in your mouth. All this while sitting hillside in Napa. If you are looking for a culinary experience in lieu of a night out for dinner, Auberge du Soleil is a must visit.
Everything about The Restaurant at Auberge Du Soleil was outstanding! The views, the food, and the staff were all impeccable! If you have money to splurge in Napa Valley, it will be well spent dining here! We dined here for New Year’s Eve Brunch which featured a three course prefix menu. We were definitely impressed by the food presentation, and our expectations were exceeded by most of the dishes we tried! The standouts by far were the Cabernet Braised Short Rib and Potato Gnocchi! We all agreed that the Short Rib was one of the best we have ever had, we still talk about it months after our Napa trip! The potato gnocchi was fantastic as well, the light airiness of the Parmesan nage complimented the rich gnocchi perfectly! The one and only gripe we had is that the Kurobuta Pork Chop was dry and lacking in flavor, which is uncharacteristic for a restaurant that has been awarded 17 consecutive Michelin stars. But do not let that deter you from visiting, the staff alone are reason enough to keep coming back here!!

Perfect place for all occasion. Located in a semi secluded hills with a breathtaking view, this place has it all. We came here to celebrate and it was a near perfect dining experience. When you pull up you are greeted with valet parking. As soon as you walk in, your eyes are treated to an inviting greeting area. The dining room is perfect setup especially with the view of the hillside. The brunch menu is simple with lot of food for a very reasonable price (includes a welcome drink and an unlimited bread basket with freshly made lemon curd). For starters (Beginnings) we opted for the oysters, sauteed octopus, and potato gonococci. The oysters were fresh and we were tempted to order more. The potato gonococci (was done perfectly. For the Sustenance, we tried the Maine lobster omelet, honey nut squash risotto, pork chop and braised short rib. We agreed the pork chop and short rib hit the all perfect mark. The risotto was very tasty but slightly overcooked. the Maine lobster omelet was our least favorite because the ricotta was a bit too rich. For desserts, it was a perfect 10 but best served with a cup of coffee. A three course brunch cost $125 which is unbelievable for this dining experience. A definite repeat!

Food was excellent but highly priced. Service-our waiter was spectacular and everyone we encountered was great! Atmosphere is PERFECT, perched high on the outdoor terrace overlooking the green valley was beautiful. Too expensive to stay at the hotel but at least we could dine here and see the place.
One Michelin star? Let’s be honest, you go there for the view, the food is meh. This restaurant is located at the ultra expensive resort Auberge du Soleil located in the hills. Views are amazing. We were only able to get reservations for lunch. The lunch menu is obviously different than the dinner menu. This review is for the lunch we had. We had a seat outside by the fence overlooking the valley. They gave use a bowl of pistachio and almonds. We got the still water which is Evian. Ordered the calamari and tomato lobster soup. The calamari came with some sauce that’s a little bit spicy. A little too salty. The tomato soup with lobster was meh. I ended up using the soup as the calamari dip. Had the margarita pizza, I’ve had better. The side of sauté mushrooms were pretty good. The steak was meh, I can make better steak at home. All in all, underwhelming lunch from a Michelin rated restaurant. Was expecting more. Would not recommend. Not even for the views.
Absolutely breathtaking view, however the food and service were a bit off. I used Amex concierge to secure this booking. We found a hair in our salmon dish and a fly in a beer. The waitress did what she could to accommodate the mishap, but we definitely expected more attention to detail! The food was decent, but nothing crazy. The service was very slow (1 hour to get entree from being seated) causing us to push back a spa reservation in Calistoga. Luckily the spa was flexible to accommodate. The view from the restaurant really made the entire experience. I recommend just to enjoy it and take in the fresh air!
There are only four things that stood out to me here: Joel, our server, free, valet, parking, spectacular views, and the strawberry sorbet. Appetizers and main course are good but not $85 good or 105 depending on whether you do the two course or three course menu. The presentation of each dish was meticulously crafted for sure, but it’s definitely not the best meal I’ve ever had. Overall, if you’re looking for a beautiful place to wine and dine your date, this place is perfect.
We've been to this restaurant on multiple occasions and have generally had a great experience. The food, as always, was quite good. However, our most recent visit was disappointing. We noticed that the service has declined and is no longer at the level one would expect from a Michelin-starred restaurant. The servers were distracted and inattentive to our table.
this is a very nice restaurant in Napa. the food was really good. the service was perfect when we visited for brunch. the view from the patio/outdoor seating was nice. the only thing i have to comment is the price. to us, it’s very high. we didn’t have a choice but the fixed menu which included a drink, an appetizer, a main course, and ended with a dessert. every food we had was so good! but is it worth it? i have to say it’s a nice experience because we came for our daughter’s birthday. i just wish we had another option to order from the menu. overall, i recommend this place for very special occasions.
The meal was mediocre probably because the kitchen also needs to prepare dishes other than the tasting menu. One good thing about this restaurant is that the portions are very sufficient. You'll definitely be full after the full course. For the dishes, I like the scallop the most. It was cooked very well and the inside was still very tender. I do not really like the quail and I feel that it was seasoned too salty. The lamb was a bit cold when presented. Other than that, there was no dish that could really amaze me, whether the seasonings or the combination of ingredients. I expected a little bit more from a one-star Michelin restaurant. I'm not saying the food is bad. Just that nothing is really outstanding other than the scallop.

My wife and I visited the Auberge du Soleil for lunch, for the first time in over a year. The setting is unquestionably beautiful. It may be worth visiting, just for a glass of wine to enjoy the view. You might be waiting a while though, the service is very polite, but tediously slow. The food is far more mediocre than it used to be. The ingredients are high quality, but assembled into unremarkable Napa cliche dishes. This was true of the overly oily fries, and bland steak tartar, all but the fresh oysters left a lot to be desired. I wonder if the environment has soured; we noticed what appeared to be the manager shouting at the server on more than one occasion at the hostess stand. I'm sad to admit the Auberge has dropped from my list of must visit spots in Napa.
Auberge du Soleil is a stunning restaurant, and our table on the terrace was beautiful, though daylight savings made it too dark to enjoy the full view. The staff was knowledgeable and kind, and my husband chose the chef’s tasting menu while I selected the four-course option. Throughout the night we received multiple unexpected amuse-bouches and palate cleansers, which made the overall amount of food overwhelming — the portions were far larger than we expected for a tasting experience. I also have a shellfish allergy (noted in the reservation and confirmed at the table), yet one of the surprise dishes was squid. I had to send it back. Additionally, I never received the cheese course I ordered, though it didn’t appear on the check. My appetizer and entrée weren’t to my taste, though the chocolate dessert was exceptional. My husband enjoyed his selections more than I did, but still felt they didn’t completely wow him. The restaurant is gorgeous and the service was good, but overall I was underwhelmed. Some factors were personal preference, but the allergy oversight, unexpected extra dishes, and missing course were disappointing.
Sat at the patio of the bar area and enjoyed some apps. We ordered the Margherita Pizza and a salad as we were pretty full from a very busy day visiting wineries. We also ordered a couple desserts. The salad and Pizza were WAY below our expectations. Quite shocking for the prices they charged. The desserts were excellent! The view was awesome as well so it seems obvious you are over paying for the view, not the food. This was not the restaurant as that experience might be very different. If visiting the bar area, however, don't come with high expectations
I have really struggled with writing this review because the service was great, the food was delicious and the view was outstanding. All things that would generally lead to a five star review but for the fact that they served me a food I was allergic to. Upon arriving at the auberge for our lunch reservation, we were escorted to table on the patio with a breathtaking view. Our waitress took our drink orders and asked at that time if we had any allergies or aversions she should know about. I let her know that I had a mango allergy. For lunch I went with two course while my husband opted for three. I started with the white asparagus and had the chicken as my main course and my husband started with the mushroom gnocchi and had the short rib. The two stand outs were the gnocchi and the Sonoma chicken but all 4 really were very good. When dessert came our waitress brought out a spoon for me to share with my husband but I noted that I’m not really a dessert person. However, we were celebrating my birthday so she brought out a chocolate bonbon with a little strawberry that had a candle on it. It was a very thoughtful gesture and while I don’t enjoy a composed dessert, I do love a chocolate. I took a bite of it with nary a concern because I had told her my allergy and, besides that, the bonbon was painted pink on top. After taking a bite I immediately became concerned that it was a mango flavored bonbon which the waitress then confirmed with the kitchen. From that point on the whole incident was handled exactly as it should have been with the manager coming out to see if I needed medical attention etc. luckily my allergy is a dermatitis issue and rather than causing difficulty breathing nearly causes a delayed reaction where I get blisters on my lips. While not life threatening, it’s still something I do my best to avoid because it is both uncomfortable and unseemly. The manager graciously comped our meal and got my contact information so that she could check on my later, which she did follow up with. Again, overall the situation was handled with grace once it occurred but at this level of establishment should never happen in the first place. Had it been a nut allergy or something more serious it could have at minimum ruined our vacation or had much more dire consequences. TLDR - the restaurant was pretty fab, but I can’t give them five stars because of allergy contamination.

We parked our car promptly when we found a lot. Few guys were waving at us from afar and asked something which I couldn't make out. So we just parked. Later, a guy walked over to QUESTION us. I then realised they were actually trying to valet the car for us. I felt forced to pass him the car keys although we have already parked the car. It stated complimentary valet, but maybe should just indicated 'valet parking only' if expectation is for guest to have valet park. We had reservations at 2pm. Arrived early around 1.30pm, but was told to wait till 2pm. We hang out at the lounge. Given a 1 Michelin star, I was expecting something really out of the world to a certain extent. Maybe over expected, food was okay only. Given choice of house water or sparkling water, we chose house water. Bread was served. Both sour dough and wheat bread were nice. Octopus starter was a bit too salty. Pork rib was okay. The scallops were really big though, and nice. I opted for chocolate mousse, it was okay as well. When we came out, we also noticed the valet shifted our car to another lot, which our initial lot wasn't blocking anyone in the first place.
Came here for a milestone birthday dinner and was VERY disappointed. The Japanese wagyu was overcooked, risotto was very salty and the mushroom tempura almost inedible. The tuna made 2 folks in our party ill.The prime beef and lamb were decent.Service was excellent and that is the only reason am giving it a 2 star rating.
Very disappointing experience. I booked this restaurant over a month in advance and traveled 3,000 miles to dine here, only to be seated next to the service door — noisy, uncomfortable, and definitely not what you expect from a fine dining restaurant promising great valley views. Lunch menu is limited, food quality not really worth a Michelin star. Perhaps dinner menu is better? When I asked to move, I was told they’d arrange a table change, so we waited. Unfortunately, that promise was never kept, even though several tables sat open the entire time. At this price point, guests deserve better service and basic consideration. Fine dining isn’t just about food — it’s about how you’re treated and excellent customer service. I expected a memorable lunch to celebrate my daughter’s birthday; instead, it was one of the most disappointing dining experiences of my life. Restroom cleanliness not at pair either, no paper or cloth towels to dry your hands. Take your business somewhere else! Napa valley has a lot to offer
