Everything about my visit today was excellent. Karen is a wonderful server and has a lovely, friendly personality. Food was exactly as ordered. Often, at other locations I am disappointed to learn they do not have strawberry pie, but they had it here and it was as delicious as ever.

I had the waffles and chicken. It was really good. It comes with a choice of fresh fruit or hash browns. Their chicken fried steak and eggs are great too. We LOVE their biscuits.

Went in on Mother's Day a Sunday. Great waitress, she was nice. I ordered pouched eggs and biscuit with white gravy👍 it was excellent!!! Very nice people!!! I didn't even pay- this time, total miracle!!

Had lunch with family at this joint several times. Food was excellent, service was very attentive, price was really affordable. Kids finished their spaghetti meat sauce and big salad plate. That was very rare for the picky ones! Grandma enjoyed her fish plate. Adults ordered tortillas soup and American burger. They were all tasty. We had different pie as dessert. Everytime the waitress put the biggest single slice pie we have ever seen on the table for us to share. That really emphasized southern hospitality of this wonderful lovely local restaurant in San Antonio!

When we got there they were short handed when we sat down we got greeted by the waiter Christophe and we was wonderful. He had a great attitude and gave great recommendations on the food. The food was hot and fresh. We definitely will be returning to visit Christophe again. Good customer service is very rare these days. He was AWESOME!!! 10 out of 10 recommend!!!

Jims has been a staple in my life for over 45 years, or more. From San Antonio to Austin I've eaten at most of the locations. I refuse to give this Pearl a name.

One of the best remaining Jim's Restaurants in SA! Busy on a Sunday afternoon when we came, but we were seated quickly and we had good service. My husband is a big fan of breakfast and this is one of the few places you can have a full breakfast with omeletes, hash browns, pancakes, & French toast at 3pm! Everything served was hot and fresh. I was especially impressed with the freshness of the fruit on our pancakes. Definitely recommend this Jim's Restaurant location!

Jim's is a San Antonio tradition. People have gathered here for meetings, late night eating, breakfast, lunch, dinner, or coffee and desserts with friends (I've done all of those). My Mom and I like to go to Jim's for breakfast. They always have friendly servers who are "on it" with whatever you need. Their prices are great. It's not The Ritz-Carlton, mind you. It's just a solid local hangout in San Antonio. I love that they offer green tea. They offer a senior menu, too

I had the basic two eggs and hash browns breakfast's today but for some reason they were just phenomenal. the Grits were exceptional biscuits were just like some of the best I've had at jims and the gravy was really hot. it's just a great experience I recommend this Jims

We went in on a busy Friday morning and had a fantastic meal. Our server quickly greeted us and brought a highchair over for our 2yr old and helped us stash our stroller where it was out of the out of the way. It was our first time and we took some time with the menu but she didn't mind and kept checking on us without being pushy or seeming annoyed by us! Our coffees were always full and they brought us a cup of ice to entertain our toddler through our meal. We all devoured our food, it came out hot and delicious! This is definitely our new breakfast date spot!

This is one of the older Jim's. The waitress and food we're one of the best we've ever had at Jim's. Our server was Patti and she was so happy, polite and lightening fast. As I said that it's an older Jim's. It's definitely time for a remodel. The carpets were so bare in spots, you could see the padding. The lighting fixture were not old and discolored. Table and benches in relatively good shape but they needed to be brought into the 21st century. I Love JIM'S ! Even with the old worn and used deco, it did not effect the immediate attention or friendly service we received. I can't say enough wonderful things about our server or the food. The atmosphere was happy and highly charged. The is definitely a restaurant to stop at, morning, afternoon, or evening. The good food and excellent service will be there waiting for you. Jim's is still considered a home town restaurant, with a menu item even for the pickiest eater, or the senior citizen that wants a smaller version of the big menu items. You leave Jim's with a full tummy and a smile on your face.

I called in my order and the manager made accommodations to ensure that I was able to get my kid what they wanted for dinner and it's usually not a to go item. Thank you Jim's for going above and beyond you can never go wrong at Jim's. I will say that the cheese sticks have changed but they're still delicious.

Our server, Kristof is an absolute delight to talk to highly intelligent, extremely witty and is able to have deep philosophical discussions and civilly discuss both sides and all sides of issues. He is the best waiter I’ve come across in a long time not just for effective service, but engaging conversation. He should get a raise, and if not a raise, then he should get a promotion.

The BLT was very good with fresh, crisp green leaf lettuce and lots of bacon. The fries here are the good ones! The omelet was a perfect size and the sides were delicious.

Needs some dusting, but all the people on hand were very nice and hard working. They were very busy but the crew kept everything rolling and did a good job cleaning between customers. The food was hot and fresh, and our waitress was really nice. Even saw the manager helping with all the tables, taking people their food and checking on them.

Grew up in east coast diners and I love Jim's. The food is great, the menu has many options, the coffee was hot & stayed a'flowin, and most of all it's really cheap (which leaves more room for a good tip, TIP YOUR SERVERS!!) Being open 24hrs doesn't hurt either, thanks Jim's 🥐🍳🍊

Ok forgive me because I should have taken a picture before I ate my food! I dined in on Wednesday during lunchtime. Restaurant was packed and Janice did an amazing job taking care of me! Chicken friend steak, mashed potatoes, fried okra and Texas toast. Everything g was fresh, hot and delicious! I was extremely surprised and I will definitely be coming back! Oh and a huge plus as they are now open 24 hours!

December 2025 Revisited again and had Jauny as our server. She was really good. I enjoyed the Senior Pancake breakfast ... yummy. IMHO, this Jim's has the best pancakes in the city. November 2025 Back at Jim's for a good family breakfast. Juanny was our server and she did fantastic. I did my same old French Toast, which I've already added pictures for this dish. Hope you enjoy, I did ! March 2025 Visited this location again for a senior French toast breakfast with a side of hash browns. Service is always good, the taste of the food great. I already had a posted a picture of the breakfast, so no need to post another one. I hope you enjoy your visit like I did. February 2025 Revisited this tried and true restaurant located at IH-410 & Broadway intersection. We arrived at 09:30 am, there were 5 of us, and we're seated at one of their round table towards the front door. Our server quickly greeted us, took drink orders, and gave us a minute to review the menu for ordering. We ordered our food, and it arrived within a short wait (15 or so minutes), and it was fantastic. This is a locally owned family chain of restaurants that has been around for at least 50 years. I highly encourage you to give this location a try, bring you children, and enjoy the 1960s feel of the restaurant. I hope that your experience is as good as mine has been.

I decided to go to this location not many left in San Antonio. It was my first time and the food and the service was amazing even if it was busy. They take pride in there plate presentation and flavor. I have gone to Jim's many times at other locations this was 1 of the best experiences I have had there. It was great! Honestly the food was amazing, I highly recommend the chili, it wasn't spicy the cheese was amazing! Although it was a little bland, put a little salt on it then it taste almost EXACTLY like the one I'm telling you to get, the waiter was amazing telling jokes, stories and lots of stuff! I will say if you are vegan, sorry to say it but I don't recommend going there, but if you are a meat lover go there because it is amazing!

I stopped in for breakfast and LOVED it. Any diner that has multiple old man groups, a cake and pie cooler front and center, and a lunch counter you can sit at, sign me up. They are bound to have good vittles! And Jim’s did not disappoint. I got the Texas Two Step breakfast. The pancakes were some of the best I’ve had. Sweet, moist, and fluffy. You almost didn’t need any syrup. I was very impressed. The bacon and eggs were just extra to make it all good. The menu looked fantastic and I hope to come back to SA one day to try out other things. Until then, keep doing your thing Jim’s!

Arrived around 7:45pm on a Monday evening, the restaurant had a few diners,but I was seated quickly. I ordered the Monday special which was meatloaf with two sides. The wait time was less than 10 minutes for my dinner to arrive. The meatloaf is a large piece covered with a sweet and tangy sauce, it has a certain flavor by itself but went well with the meatloaf. The plate was very satisfying, I couldn't find a weak spot on this dinner or experience. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly. The cooks were sending other diner's plates rather quickly too. This is an older Jim's but well worth the visit.

It's JIM'S, what can you say? I wanted something homestylish instead of fast food, so I popped in here. I was pleasantly surprised at just how friendly my waitress Janice was too me. I just agreed! Added my favorite cheddar cheese soup and I was in heaven. You know, it's nit GREAT food, but it's never bad, and I always leave satisfied. And the atmosphere, well...again, it's JIM'S 🤷‍♂️ struck up conversation with a counter diner and ran into a customer who was reminiscing about an old co-worker of mine, and then there was Janice. Just a good, satisfying experience with some old style comfort food. Sometimes you just need that! I know I'll be back. 👍

One of favorite places to eat after flying in to San Antonio. Breakfast served all day and done right. It's not just breakfast that's delicious here but also great burgers too. Their mushroom and Swiss burger is nearly perfect. The onion rings are fairly decent too.

This place is a hit or miss in my opinion. I visited this place two days straight. The first day my food was good. The second day it was okay. The second day my eggs tasted as if it was missing something and was a little too moist for my liking. My pecan waffle looked beautiful but was a little doughy so I sent it back and ordered plain pancakes instead. The pancakes were okay. My friend said she enjoyed her Texas omelet both days, so..........😏. I only went twice so I gave it 4 stars. The locals recommended it and it seemed to get good business so I am guessing my second day experience was not the norm for this place.

A San Antonio staple. Jim's on Broadway. We were greeted and seated. Most of the employees that saw us walk in smiled and said morning. Coffee, orange juice, and water were our beverages. Chili with eggs and the Tx two step were ordered. Food came put fast and hot. I forgot how good their chili is. Eggs were cooked Sunnyside up, bacon was not burnt but not overly crispy, pancakes were fluffy and big. A good thick serving of hash browns. The outside was toasted nicely, but the middle was just luke warm. It's still good, but flatter hash browns, it would have toasted all of it. The employees were on top of it. Doing a great job cause they were busy. We enjoyed our meal.

Muffled conversations, a counter with swivel seats, round tables and booths with slightly sprung seats; carpet a bit threadbare from servers going back and forth. Smiling staff and cheerful conversation all around - in short a marvelous relaxing atmosphere. A very homey place for a travel too long away from home. Oh, and they have great food too! My breakfast was the best I have had on this trip. I think most anyone would like it here.

Plenty staff, not crowded. Took 20 minutes to even be acknowledged much less waited on. Don't get the chili. I don't know if it was spoiled or what but it was not edible. Food served cold. Soup was room temp. Burgers and rings cold. We had to ask to heat them. Worst experience I've ever had at Jims.

The large seating booth to the right as you walk in reeks of urine. We switched tables. I love Jim's but couldn't enjoy my meal.

Service was very poor. The waitress asked what I wanted to drink and then forgot I was there. Then, when I got my food, she forgot that she said she'd bring me silverware in a napkin, in which I still had to wait for her to bring back. The only thing that tasted good, what's the scrambled eggs and the toast that I had to eat to hide the taste from the steak. Steak with cooked like I like it but tasted like chemicals. I couldn't even hide the taste with A1 sauce. The whole atmosphere was bunk. Was sitting here pondering how long that french fry was sitting in the window. 🤔

I went there 04/15/25 trying to get lunch. I sat at the counter and waited. A regular customer came in after I did and waited a while also. I was looked at and acknowledged several times. The regular customer was greeted and served first then me. I ordered a simple Bacon cheeseburger and fries. I waited over 40 min for my food. The regular customer was nearly finished with his mean and I still had nothing but my drink. I notified them that I had to get back to work and left.

February 14, a dasher waited like 15 minutes for an order and you guys didn't even start prepping it.

Went at 11 pm and the Service is horrible. Sat ourselves and they never acknowledged us. Then we stood by the register to order to go and they just looked at us and ignored us. Too busy flirting and playing around. Don’t waste your time. Zero stars!!

My chicken fried steak was to chewy and tasted fake. The Mac and mash potatoes tasted like cafeteria food 🤢. Never again will I come here! The only thing good was the oatmeal.

Why you have to make dashers wait forever? This is the job I do for living, I need to feed my son so do your job properly. There is a customer that paid for the order and there is somebody waiting for it.

Monica the cashier at Jim's, sighed with disgust, when we asked to have our check separated. Then, she accused me of not wanting to pay for our teas, which were not on the ticket. They took 10 minutes to get a revised ticket. I told her I had 2 teas. How can I not want to pay for the teas, when I told hed 2 teas??? She then said, Are you the big sister, or the little sister? Came in for dinner, the food and service was great. Around 8:40 some guy came in, not sure if it was the owner or what. He started yelling at and threatening the manager in the middle of the store. Completely unprofessional and ruined my entire meal. I will not be a customer again for a company that treats their employees like that

Waited an hour to be served food. People that arrived after us had already finished there meals and ate before us. Then you have your supervisor and she saw that we kept looking at her but she ignored us. Not until we left that she was wondering what was happening. This was ridiculous. Also you made my grandmother who is 83 cry and upset. She felt ignored.

Iris is the WORST. Customer service is everything and she failed miserably at it. I traveled to San Antonio and stopped here because they have the best tortilla soup. I ordered, paid, made it to my hotel. No soup. Instead of her being apologetic she was a smart ass. She wouldn’t like if her people was done and talked to the way she talked to me. Never will me or family ever come here again. If I can give zero stars for customer service I would. Also the place wasn’t even busy for that mistake to happen. She sat down gossiping with the workers loudly and had the audacity to be rude

Ilene is rude. Walked into the restaurant was told sit anywhere by the staff at the front. I walked to the first clean table was told this section is closed by Ilene than was told you cant read the sign? I walked to that section because every other table was being used or dirty In the front half. I asked can you bus that dirty table so we can sit there? She said yes and walked away back to cleaning a table in the “closed” section. Attached is said photo of the sign I could not read. Which is non existent. The sign is not even legible on the other side it’s completely blank and facing the chair. How am I supposed to read that?

When we got there the sign said to seat ourselves. We sat down and around the 15 minute mark i and to ask for a server. It took another 10 minutes to get silverware and menus. The waitress that came by with the menus told us another server would be by shortly. That didn't happen. After another 15 minutes we left. It wasn't busy. There was zero reason we sat there that long and didn't get served at LEAST drinks. Definitely wont recommend or go back.

This year's Thanksgiving turkey plates were a complete disappointment. Usually the quality and amount of food provided goes beyond expectations, but not this time. I was given a sad looking plate, that smelled like wet rotten chicken, canned green beans, barf stuffing and thawed out cranberry sauce. Jim himself would be embarrassed to charge money for this artrocity. It looked better when I saw it in the trash can.
