Today was my first time visiting here and the owner Miss Cynthia was very warm and welcoming. I appreciated that she took the time to show us around the café and get to know my husband and I. Pretty awesome experience for discovering the café by happy accident. Our drinks and food were delicious and refreshing, my taste buds were super happy and I can’t wait to come back! ^_^
This is a wonderful cafe! Parking is a little annoying since it's all street parking but it was worth it. The woman (owner maybe?) Was so sweet and her enthusiasm for the shop is contagious. They have board games, free produced in a mini fridge, and house plants for sale for $10. There's plenty of seating and a huge outside area. I only wish they would open later but they host community events so it's understandable.
Amazing female black owned and operated coffee shop serving up their own delicious blend of coffee. I had the coconut thai (hot, but you can also get it cold) that was smooth and sweet, but not too sweet and an apple turnover that was to die for!
Amazing!!! Not only the best chai I’ve ever had but such amazing staff. Mother/daughter owned and a beautiful atmosphere inside. Definitely come! When you’re done go climbing next door ☺️
Kind ownership with a heart for good food and coffee. I loved talking with them and enjoyed the coffee and vibe of the whole place.

I really love it and I'm glad I get to try some of the drinks and pastries before it was close down. Does anyone know what happened that was once a lounge area?
My wife, son and I came in for an afternoon coffee with some friends. We absolutely loved the space, it was welcoming with plenty of space for our little one to run around. Ms Cynthia was extremely hospitable and served us some amazing coffee. Highly recommend, will definitely be back
Back in June I was in San Diego for work. Looking for a nice coffee shop to get a coffee and something to eat for the drive back north to the bay area with my wife, I searched and found this highly rated location. We made the drive and glad we did! Service was really great, both of us loved our lattes (salted caramel was fab) and the co-op concept they are doing for the neighborhood is fantastic. A pleasant surprise. Glad we made the stop!
This was a super cool spot! Awesome vibes only here. Super roomy yet cozy at the same time . Miss Cynthia makes you feel so welcome. The coffee was so amazing ... super awesome that they have thier own blend of coffee. The tasty treats ... my goodness! Definitely recommend hitting this place up !
Love it here!! Such a gem. Cynthia, one of the owners, is a very kind woman who is passionate about the community. I had the wild berry lemonade iced tea, which was one of the best beverages of my life. And the peanut butter chew, which was their delicious original recipe. Great ambiance inside and out. Treat yourself by coming over and support this wonderful local business!
This is the spot. From catching up with an old friend to a casual coffee business meeting. Cafe X is the ideal spot in this neighborhood! The music is always the perfect chill music and just the right level to be able to take phone calls or chat with someone. Coffee is delicious, during COVID they took the time to craft their own roast and it is wonderful. Cynthia is almost always there and a true delight. Let's keep this place busy!
Loved loved loved this place! Talked with Cynthia the owner about all of the ways they support the community. Truly inspiring! My Mexican hot chocolate was excellent. The Wi-Fi was fast enough that I was able to be on a video call for a bit. We’re just in town for a couple of weeks, but will make a point of going back to Cafe X, maybe multiple times!
Mini business cafe plaza. Very inviting atmosphere for families, college students and friends. The have a beautiful, peaceful back yard, a barbershop, clothing amongst other business along with the coffee shop. Great tasting medium roasted coffee paired with delicious pastries. I ordered an iced vanilla and brown sugar latte. Great flavor. Quality roasted coffee beans. The pastries ( which are baked by a third party) are delicious. Must try the lemonade cake, cinnamon cake or maple bourbon bar. Awesome customer service. The mother, one of the owners, was extremely friendly. Reasonable prices. No parking, there's little to no street parking and no lot parking. Overall positive experience, I've already returned twice. Black women owned
Cafe X has immediately become my coffee shop of choice. I had a meeting, so I didn’t take pictures, and I’m so bummed about it! The cafe is GORGEOUS! You can feel the love that went into every little detail. I can confidently say that this place is for the culture. There are several seating areas and even a swing! The owners really outdid themselves! As far as the coffee goes, I had the Brown Suga. The name says it all… espresso, milk, and brown suga. It was delightful! I will definitely be a regular here. I can’t wait to bring all my people!
Welcome to the new San Diego hub! Beautiful co-op, perfect indoor and outdoor event/meeting space and did I mention the best coffee beans in San Diego (yeah I said it). Supporting Black-owned business in San Diego never felt so good!
Although the service wasn't great, I will not hold that against this business. It's a great place and atmosphere. If there is any critic, it would be better if the coffee choices were more of a variety. Need a whole new selection of different food choices. With that said, I will definitely be supporting this establishment again. I promise
One of the best cafes in San Diego that invites all communities. I could tell the owner loved her cafe but also the community and making sure everyone was satisfied. Also not to mention, its Black owned!!
I was in sd for a few hours on the way from some community work, and stumbled upon this spot while trying some rocklimbing next door (also a great, legit, local biz I was lucky to try). I drink alot of coffee and have worked in service so I appreciate cafes and the work that goes in alot but rarely review. But drinking this iced hazlenut latte and cheese danish I have to praise Miss Cynthia and the other folks who run this beautiful place. The inention and interconnection that drives this place - coffee selection, roasting, food sourcing, art on the walls, welcoming space, cooperative mission, mutual aid resources - is nothing short of inspiring. And that intention translates into some of the smoothest, most creative coffee and latte blend I've had. Don't miss out - and while you're at it spread the word to friends and fam. Looking forward to my next trip to try more from here.

"Coconut thai" Coffee could have been a bit stronger, not a fan of super sweet coffee.

The guy taking my order looked high. They didn’t have regular milk, only alternatives. The coffee itself tasted terrible, it was undrinkable. And the lid continued to pop off I had to pour it in another cup when I got home.
