One of the best pizzas around no matter what location u go to from SD to LA. The workers are always hard working and cracking jokes with customers. I love going into a place where the workers are having fun and include u in the environment. The naughty pie is to die for it has amazing crispy edges with fresh mozzarella and honey.
Small Pizza Space With Great BIG Flavors Coming Out of There. Definitely Try the New Potato Pizza... It's Definitely One Of The Best I've Ever Had. ( Does Not Come with Sour Cream) Fat Kid in Me Went to Ralph's and bought Sour Cream. Pizza in Back is Original Potato Pizza No Mods.
WOW ! Great pizza amazing atmosphere service impeccable! Luis D at the register was amazing kind helpfull and above and beyond customer service! Thank you for serving us some dlish pizza!
I had many different types of pie over my life time but this one omg let me tell you! We got have vodka and half naughty pie and without I doubt I can say this is the best pizza I’ve had. The dough was so crispy, and the hot honey literally melted on my tongue. Picture may not do it justice but taste wise best pizza I e ever had
Went back today before flight to get another slice and my husband did as well. I got a picture this time, but they didn't warm it up enough. Not the same woman that was so great the other day. I had some time to kill on a gorgeous day, so I walked all over the place and decided to grab something from here. It’s just a tiny spot, but they had no less than 12 different pies available that all looked amazing! Being from the northeast, I was hesitant how good it could be, but the young lady that took my order was originally from New Jersey, so I trusted she wouldn’t work here if it wasn’t good. Well, it wasn’t good…more like “perfect”. I ordered a slice of Prince Perfection. It’s Sicilian style, but thinner than I’m used to, but it was crispy in the outside, but light on the inside with a little chew. It has a layer of cheese then delicious sauce and sprinkled with pecorino Romano cheese. Shocking that something that good is being sold for $6 in San Diego, but I’m happy I was able to enjoy it!
One of my favorite pizza spots in SD! The spicy vodka is a constant craving.
Stumbled upon this gem during Comic Con 2023. The line got long after 9pm. There were two lines. 1 slices or 2 whole pie+pickup orders. Staff was kind, courteous and genuinely having a good time. Left a smile on my face. Now I was surprised to hear the Sicilian slices called "squares"⁉️ not sure about that one but I enjoyed my square!👍🏾🍕
I had Prince Street Pizza for takeout, and I have to say, it was absolutely amazing! From the first bite, I knew I was in for a treat. The flavors were spot on, the crust was perfectly crispy, and the toppings were fresh and flavorful. It's clear that they take pride in their craft. If you're craving fantastic pizza, look no further than Prince Street Pizza for a truly satisfying experience.
True pizzeria feel. Incredible pie. Sauce and dough is on point. Louis (spelling) had incredible service. Highly recommend trying this place out.
My friend and I came in for a slice and we’re chatting with an employee and we told him we were visiting and he gave us two free pizza slices and told us to enjoy our trip and he was super friendly and kind. I will be back. Thank you.
We arrived after the rush… definitely a plus because I heard it gets busy here. This pizza gem is located next to Cali cream ice cream downtown. We got 3 different flavors…. luckily they were all fresh out the oven. We ordered the pepperoni, their signature cheese and 2 veggies. The crust was fantastic very crispy yet soft. Loved the quality pepperoni and cheeses! Their marinara is delicious. Great flavor. On the average $6 a slice. Next time, I think we will order two whole pies to go. Friendly, friendly outgoing staff.
Didn't realize a Prince Street Pizza opened up in SD so while on a night out walked past it and decided to give it a try as it's been hyped up. Line was long but it moved fairly fast. We got a slice of spicy spring, spicy vodka, three cheese and the meat lovers. All of them were delicious. Crust was crispy on the outside but soft and fluffy on the inside. My favorite was definitely the spicy vodka, the sauce had so much flavor. Each slice was around 6-7$ which is a little on the expensiver side. They're open very late so perfect for a night out.
Im so glad this place is here i love a good grandmother slice. I work nearby and stop in a couple of times a week. Noah and Joey always get me in and out quick with a few hot slices. Try one of the chocolate chip cookies!!
A New York based pizza joint but not your average New York pizza slice. If you want a variety of Sicilian type pizza I highly recommend this place. You have many options including Vegan options as well. It’s as simple as it is as you are welcomed with a selection of ready to go pizzas so you actually get to see what you’re going to eat. I’ve tried a good amount of them and you can’t go wrong, including the Vegan one. The ambiance is pretty cool as it’s a small area where you just order your pizza and go. It’s filled with photos of people that have visited both their location and the original location. They have some seating arrangements outside if you’re lucky to enjoy your food then and there.
Don't stop RUN here! By far the best pizza in San Diego. Been looking for Brooklyn style pizza and Prince St did not disappoint. They even have the pizza game down to a science special filtration system built in house like the Hudson River to make the dough and their sauce is homemade on a daily from scratch. Here’s what we ordered: ☑️ Naughty Pie ☑️ Spicy Spring Pepperoni ☑️ Mercer Margherita ☑️ Green Machine Don't forget to follow @GoosbyTwins on your journey for more amazing LA SD & Beyond Travel | Cuisine |and Experiences!
One of the best pizza places downtown hands down. NY style pizza but its not like Bronx pizza on Washington. Both places are amazing and no they are not better than the other, they are both top contenders for the best pizza place in SD. You walk in, ask for a slice or two, they'll warm it up and call you when its ready. You can also order a full pizza. No ketchup, no Mustard, no Mayo, and NO RANCH! But they have cheese and peppers packets, thats all you need honestly. The pizza speaks for itself. Delicious. Amazing. And most importantly, Life changing. I kid you not, you will be a different person after you try this pizza.
If you're ordering a whole pie, get a square pizza, but the round pizzas are better for slices out of the window. My favorite was the Fancy Prince. Can't beat a thin slice of margarita with a little extra toast on it. The thick Sicilian pizzas taste amazing, but are a bit tough to chew after they're sitting a while even with a reheat.
Came across this gem on a trip to San Diego. After a wild night out the next day we were craving pizza and this place happened to be down the street from our hotel. The service was fast and friendly and pizza delicious. Let me tell you we loved it so much we came back the next day for some more and took some to go for our plane ride lol.
Some of the best pizza I've ever had. Came here for vacation this week and this place was a top priority from the jump! The Spicy Spring is highly recommended, it has a nice spice and flavor to it I loved it and I don't even do spicy food, but this pizza is definitely a must! Right in the gaslamp quarters!
Absolutely Fire! I would highly recommend ordering the whole pie, or ask for your slices well done. First time I came the slices weren't hot. I wanted to give PSP a second try, with a whole fresh pie, before dismissing them from my spots to eat pizza in SD, and I was blown away ! Will be back.
Tldr: The pepperoni with hot honey is the move. It's in the gaslamp, there is no seating inside or outside. You have to stand outside and eat. Inside is cozy and the front staff have been welcoming and helpful. It's expensive, you'll spend $20 for 2 slices and a drink. I've been there a few times now and I can report that it's very good. They basically reheat cooked slices for you, they always come out.. not quite hot enough. Next time I'll ask them to keep it in the oven longer.
This is a great place to grab a quick slice or even buy a full pie if you want to. It’s a thicker crust on most of the pizzas, but they do have regular crust options as well. The serve healthy servings of toppings which is the reason why you come here. These manly portions of pepperoni, and sausage are the reason to come here.
Delicious pizza by the slice place. There’s a reason it’s so well known! Got a piece of the veggie pizza and the fancy prince. Perfectly crisp thin crust, tasty red sauce a little on the sweeter side, and the pesto was fresh and amazing! Is it worth the $6/$7 price tag per slice? That’s up to you to decide, but in the Gaslamp Quarter, that’s a semi average rate. Definitely a place you should try at least once! Especially if you like going places that famous people have been. You can check out their wall of celebrity photos on the inside!
A very tasty slice spot! Got the spicy pepperoni, their flagship and it was a mighty tasty. Slice crust had some good crunch a slice of this style should. A tad light on the cheese, but it’s their recipe not mine. There’s some outdoor seating but it looks as though, it had been crashed into or just constructed from the Covid outdoor dining era. Classic hole in the wall type spot in that I walked right by it the first time.
Start your culinary journey in San Diego here. Very nice people with helpful nature and integrity, politeness, and good manners, the taste is heavenly. I greatly appreciate your awesome pizza that satisfied my taste buds beyond expectations on the first visit. 🍕The service was prompt and quick. 🪑 The outdoor seating area is enjoyable. 🚗Streetside paid parking is available in immediate vicinity. 🚻I am not aware if any inhouse washroom facility was available. ♿The shop is accessible.
We ordered delivery and the pizza did not disappoint!!! Everything was solid from salads to the pepperoni to the vegan cheese (although they could cut the quantity of the vegan cheese on the pizza in half… maybe ask for less of it when you order). Fresh, hot, and tasty. You’re the office hero if you order this for your crew. 😉
Came upon prince street on a rainy night not knowing it was prince street pizza. Was so excited when I found out it was prince street. All the slices that were available looked great and had the whole New York feel down, including the water filtration system with New York water! Service was great. Amazing dude behind the counter helping me and my buddy out. Believe he is originally from Sacramento from my quick convo with him, but super chill guy and super friendly Accessibility to this location is pretty much street parking. There is quite a bit of street parking available though. Great job overall!
There's a new Pizza King in town, and it hails straight from the streets of New York City! I happened to walk by the famous Prince St Pizza and decided to try it. Growing up, my parents owned a pizza shop, so when it comes to pizza, I am hard to impress. Well Prince Street Pizza, you have wowed me beyond belief! The pizzas are Sicilian style square, and they are phenomenal. They do have the regular Neapolitan circle pizzas we see as the norm, but there's something about the square ones that just hit different. I tried the Vegan and the Mercer Margarita. I literally ate the entire pizza, the crust I usually do not eat, not this time, I inhaled the crust. They must import it from NYC because it was so so good! The red sauce on both were unreal. The staff was super cool as well, they made it even better! I'm instantly a huge fan and can't wait to try it again! IG Tip: Any pic or reels in here will look great! Plenty of pics on the wall with celebs for your background.
Excellent, delicious pizza! Crispy, yet thick and doughy crust, like the perfect pan pizza. The pepperoni is thick, crispy, and greasy! Probably one of the best classic pepperoni pizzas I have had! With just enough spice to keep your mouth watering. Service is quick, too! Quick to get in and out when you're running errands downtown.
Been in San Diego for over 3 years and my only regret is why didn’t I find this pizza place sooner. I went on a weekday, there was a queue but the staff was very good at taking orders so the wait wasn’t too long. Their deep dish pizzas are way too good and the bread tastes fresh and best part doesn’t make you feel bloated. I got the spicy spring pepperoni slice, the mercer margherita, prince perfection, and the veggie slice. My favourites were the deep dish, lots of flavour and fresh slices made this my place to the top on my list to pizza places. Parking is tight, so it may take a while to find a spot. Recommended to have one person pick up the slices while other waits in the car. All in all, highly recommended.
I went on a Wed at 3pm. No line. No wait. The pizza was super fresh. The service was nice. They were out of meat lovers, so I got 2 Spicy Supreme. It was DELICIOUS. I honestly only needed one. The Staff behind the counter was friendly and informative. Every time that I walked past this place, the line was down the block, so I had to see what the hype was all about. Realistically, I wouldn't wait an hour in the cold for the pizza. No shade to them at all because it's really good pizza. There isn't a lot of food that I'd stand an hour or more, in line, in the cold, just to try it out lol I'm really glad that I stopped though. I'd definitely come back again during non-peak hours lol sorry I didn't get a pic before I threw parmesan and pepper flakes in it
Food: 5/5 Service and Setting: 3/5 Value: 2.5/5 I am a man who is definitely anti-hype, but Prince St Pizza is the real deal. Located in San Diego’s Gaslamp district, parking is rough, the people are rough, and everything is a bit of a hassle. If you are not comfortable with parallel parking, there are several paid parking spots around the restaurant. The service was quick and kind but keep in mind that warming up the pizzas does take a bit of time, I would say around 5 minutes. The reheating process helps get the bottom crispy but the pizza itself is lukewarm at best. There is no seating and technically no outside dining. Despite all of these obstacles, Prince St Pizza is worth the hype and a visit. The only two things that I would consider true negatives are the size of the squares they serve (feel small for the price) and not being able to eat truly hot pizza. All of the pizzas I tried had a phenomenal crispy crust, perfectly chewy and moist dough, and balanced seasoning. By putting their mozzarella under the sauce, Prince St Pizza preserves the delicious milky sweetness of the cheese. The toppings were all fresh and of good quality, you just can’t go wrong! Naughty Pie: 5/5 Spicy vodka sauce, spicy pepperoni, fresh mozzarella, ricotta, and honey. Probably the most flavorful of all the pizzas I ate that day, the Naughty Pie tasted like an updated pepperoni pizza without losing its soul. Rich, salty, and sweet are the name of the game. Sunset Square: 5/5 Sunset marinara, fresh garlic, shredded mozzarella, pecorino Romano, and extra virgin olive oil. While simple on paper, the garlic really shines and gives it a unique kick. Spicy Vodka: 5/5 Spicy vodka sauce with prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, and pecorino Romano. The vodka sauce has such a unique and eep savory flavor. Though the Naughty Pie seems like it would be a total upgrade, the Spicy Vodka pizza has its own unique taste. Spicy Spring: 5/5 Fra Diavolo sauce, fresh mozzarella, spicy pepperoni, and pecorino romano. This is literally an upgraded pepperoni pizza. While not the spiciest, maybe a 1.5/5?, it is certainly tasty and perfect for purists. Prince Perfection: 5/5 Marinara sauce, fresh mozzarella, and pecorino Romano. Again, I was expecting this to be bland but the marinara sauce tasted uniquely sweet and full of oregano flavor. Think Lunchables pizza but in the best light.
NYC-Style Perfection in San Diego!Prince Street Pizza in San Diego is a slice of New York City right here on the West Coast. The Naughty Slice is hands down the best pizza I've ever had, with its perfect balance of flavors and textures. The San Diego location maintains the same high standard as the original New York spot. Authenticity in taste and friendly service make it a must-visit for pizza lovers. Don't miss out on experiencing this NYC-style perfection in San Diego!
This is the best pizza in San Diego. Not only is the food unbelievably good, the service is truly impeccable. I had the pleasure of meeting the Senior GM of their San Diego locations and you can tell he has a passion for his work. Eating at prince street reminds me of going to DisneyLand - it’s a great time alone, or with friends and family & you’ll always remember your experience.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Best Square Slice in the Gaslamp! 🍕 If you’re in downtown San Diego, you HAVE to stop by Prince St. Pizza. I’m obsessed with their square pizzas—the crust is the perfect balance of thick, airy, and crispy on the bottom. A huge shout-out to Jack! He is always so incredibly friendly and provides lightning-fast service every time I’m in. It’s rare to find a spot that’s this busy but still makes you feel like a regular. Highlights: • The Squares: Seriously, tell everyone you know to come check out these thick slices. They are iconic for a reason. • Speed: Perfect for a quick lunch or a late-night bite. • Vibe: Authentic NYC feel right in the heart of San Diego. Whether you're a local or just visiting the Gaslamp, don't sleep on this place. Grab a square slice (or three) and thank me later!
Absolutely loved Prince Street Pizza in San Diego! The Spicy Spring square slice was a perfect blend of crispy crust, fantastic sauce, and just the right amount of heat. It's truly NYC quality right here in SD. Fast, friendly service too! Highly recommend stopping by for a delicious slice.
Definitely a different downtown pizza spot, offering square slices rather than triangle/round. The pizzas are so crunchy when you hire into them, and not super pricey for what you get ($6-7 a slice). The sunset square was very tasty, and I like the meat lovers. Prince's perfection was like a slightly less tasty version of the sunset square so I would choose the latter, but the interior is very SD themed and decorated. Staff is nice, but no indoor seating. Grab and go place for sure, but check it out if you want pizza!
We had heard about this pizza place from my son. We weren’t super hungry so having an option to buy a slice of pie was right what we were looking for. I had no idea that this place was so popular among celebrities as there was a bunch of pictures on the wall of them visiting the restaurant. I went with the hot honey pepperoni slice, and it did not disappoint. It was pretty tasty. I’m not sure I can eat a whole pie of it, but it was definitely worth the slice.
The pizza here is amazing. I got the spicy spring and the boozey broome slices, and they hit the spot! This pizza shop is located downtown and was a fun walk through the city to get here. There isn't much seating, so be prepared to eat standing up or take it to go somewhere and eat. Whichever you choose, you'll just be glad you have one of these slices to eat! I went on a Wednesday around 5pm and was able to get in and out of the place within 15mins. They're quick to serve and all the staff is really friendly! I recommend stopping by if you're in the area looking for a bite to eat.
Prince Street Pizza was absolutely amazing. The moment I took a bite, I could tell how fresh everything was. Unlike a lot of other spots, the pizza wasn’t greasy — just perfectly balanced. It had that rare combination: crunchy yet soft. It’s hard to describe and even harder to pull off, but they nailed it. The staff made the experience even better. They were incredibly helpful, patient, and welcoming. As for the prices — very reasonable, especially for the quality you’re getting. The only downside? There’s no seating. But honestly, don’t let that stop you. Grab your slice and enjoy it outside or on the go. This place is truly serving up greatness. A must-try for any pizza lover!
Good pizza with quite a few choices. Nowhere to sit down and eat inside or outside, just a table to stand at but the pizza was good.
My brother loved Prince Street Pizza ever since he went to New York so he introduced it to us but so far, the 2 locations we tried aren't as good as the NY one. The service here is great though. The workers were really friendly and seemed happy/chill at work. They recommended spicy spring as the most popular flavor so we got a pie ($39) for that flavor. The spicy spring was good but not amazing. It wasn't spicy to me, and the pepperonis were really oily. This was my least favorite of the 3 we tried but they were generous with the pepperonis. We got a slice of the spicy vodka which my brother liked the most but I liked the least. I thought it was bland. We also got a slice of naughty pie which I thought was the best. I liked this better than the one we had from the LA location but my middle brother liked the LA version better. Lots of different opinions on the pizzas here from the family so take my review with a grain of salt. We don't think it's worth the price.
If this pizza is meant for deep dish crust lovers then my review can be taken with a grain of salt lol. For me it felt like more bread than pizza. Got the meat lovers & Pepperoni is definitely not my go to. Heard the buzz about prince st, figured sure why not. For a deep dish 🍕 it’s solid but not for me to go back.
As a Pizza lover I heard of the hype and definitely wanted to try it out. I had the Naughty Pie and Meat Lovers. I will say I wasn't too impressed by the meat lovers, but the Naughty Pie had an interesting and unique taste to it that was impressive! I love the use of beef pepperonis! I give them a 7 out 10. Definitely worth checking out.
Great pizza although a bit pricey. The pizzetta is a good deal, but sometimes they're out. Great pepperoni, add extra cheese and hot peppers for a spicy treat!
Trendy pizza spot in the Gaslamp bringing a taste of NY pizza out west. The flavor combos here are what makes it special - I recommend the spicy vodka or the naughty pie. It’s good enough pizza to fuel your night out in the Gaslamp or take home for a night in, although it is a little on the pricey end.
The place while small, the staff manages the crowd quite fast and smart. As a tourist I need help finding something for my taste and the staff was very helpful describing flavors and ingredients for each option of pizza. My choice of a box with 8 slices, 4 of one flavor and 4 of another, was quoted for 25 minutes of waiting, and they were spot on. The pizza was spot on, delicious, super hot, although a bit greasy so take a handful of napkins before heading out. Price wise, I felt 50 bucks was a bit high for my taste, but the whole experience made it worth it. Love the fact that they accept both Apple pay and Google wallet. TLDR: The food is great. Finding parking sucks. There is no place to sit, just a couple of high tables outside and, price wise, a little high for me. (Spent close to 50 bucks for an 8 piece pizza, no drinks.)
I have never heard of Prince Street Pizza so when friends asked to go and check it out, I wasn't aware there was hype to this location. I did realize when we had to wait for a while to get our food. The pizza is loaded with delicious pepperoni and yes, its greasy simply because of all the meat, but the crust is great and the pizza is delicious. They are a bit pricey compared to other locations in the area so the value is not there but lots of people are here to eat and it is a very good pizza.
Well, it took three years, but I finally found East Coast pizza here in Southern California! If the name is familiar to you, it’s because Prince Street in Manhattan is one of the best pizza places there is. The sauce on this pie; the correct cheese to sauce ratio, and the plethora of great pepperoni slices cut just the right way were perfect. Also, the crust was just crispy enough to remind me of New York. The Square cut had almost a Greek feel to it. When I get back to Swampscott, I’m going to tell one of Portnoy‘s buddies that he needs to try Prince Street in San Diego when he comes to Del Mar. One bite, everybody knows the rules… Now, if I can just find good bar pizza like they have in Lynn, Lynn the city of sin…
Iconic spot for pizza. Everybody and their friends and family comes here. There is always a line and always pizza being cooked to perfect. They have a New York Water Maker so you know it’s great. I recommend the Naughty. Do note that the pepperoni is spicy. Was not an issue for me, but definitely bothered my spice intolerant friend lol Despite all the people they serve you fairly fast. If you want the best bang for your buck get a whole pizza. Would come again, but $7 a small square is a bit high for me, even in Gas lamp. Would still suggest it for the experience.
Pizza itself is the bomb - at least the ones I tried. My friend’s piece with pepperoni was a little greasy. I like a lot of sauce on my pizza so I went with the Prince Perfection and the Sunset Square. Both were great. The cheese pizza has no sauce so just be aware of that. Service is decent but nothing remarkable. I’m sure they get tired of dealing with some of the people coming in after going out drinking so I gave them a pass on that. Not much of an atmosphere to denote - limited tables outside to eat at and no inside seating. They move the line pretty quickly. Next time we will order ahead to go.
5 stars for the slice, it means business. It was delicious — definitely up there with some of the better NYC pizzas I’ve had. Came here twice during my short visit to SD. While my personal favorites are still spots like L’Industrie or Bleecker Street in NYC, you won’t find those here, so come by and enjoy this tasty pie, though just be aware there is no place to sit, more of a takeout place.
Pizza was was good. Only issue I had was at the end of my first slice my jaw hurt from all the chewing. THAT IS ABSOLUTELY NOT A REASON TO NOT GO AND TRY IT. So I had to give away my other 3 slices. Those were loved. It’s always about preferences. I think the slice I got would have been a 5 in a traditional round pie. We shall see. Stay tuned.
Stopped in to grab a couple of slices for dinner. Loved the type of pepperoni they use. It’s nice to see employees enjoying their job: blasting music and laughing with each other - reminds me of when I worked at a pizza joint 35 years ago. I’d definitely eat here again.
The hype was crazy about this place especially when it opened in January 2023. Unfortunately I was living abroad but finally when I made it back to San Diego, it was time to try it. There were so many flavors that looked amazing like Sunset Square, Naughty Pie, Boozey Broome. But I ended up going with the Spicy Spring Pie which has Fra Diavolo Sauce, Pepperoni, Fresh Mozzarella, Pecorino Romano. I was with 3 others so this was nice to share the pizza. It was definitely enough as well. Solid amount of grease, cheese, and pepperoni...everything I wanted and more!! I did come here a 2nd time and got the Sunset Square which has Sweet Marinara, Fresh Mozzarella, Shredded Mozzarella and Pecorino Romano. To be honest, it was a bit underwhelming, I would definitely go for the whole pizza and the Spicy Spring Pie.
Tried Prince Street Pizza while visiting and the pizza definitely lived up to the hype — super flavorful, especially the spicy slices. That pepperoni hits different! Only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is because the service was slow, even though the place wasn’t that busy. We waited longer than expected. But the quality of the food made up for it — I’d still come back for another slice.
This place does not have ranch. Ok but they do have vegan pizza by the slice! I ordered two slices and was full for the next 10 hours. I could have made due with one slice and it’s pretty rare these days to grab food for under $10 and be satisfied! There was a small area to stand outside to eat (no seating inside). I was tempted to jokingly ask for ranch despite the signs but I was afraid they would send me away without pizza. Wasn’t worth the risk.
Moving to San Diego from NY it's been a challenge finding good pizza, amongst other things. First impression walking in wasn't the best as I was hit with a peculiar and unappetizing smell. The slice from prince was thin and the crunch was decent. The sauce on the "fancy prince" was bland not much going on. The "boozy broome" had a little spice wasn't bad. I will give Prince another shot in a few months when the hype dies down, and perhaps the price.
CHAMPION OF PEPPERONI The pepperoni was a standout feature of this pizza, with mini-petite slices that had crisp edges, creating an irresistible savory of greasiness and paprikerie of flavor. I've never had a better pepperoni slice in any state. Though I've had better veggie and margherita (Gaetano's Pizza). I went on Friday at 5 PM and no line!!! Expected pizza customer service, "Whattda you like today?". From ordering to food it was less than 10 minutes. The slices were lukewarm. Take-out only. Limited stand up eating in front of the business at the curb. WHAT SLICES DID YOU TRY? Prince Perfection, Spicy Vodka Slice Spicy Spring Pie, Mercy Margherita, Naughty Slice IS IT PRICEY? Each slice is $6-$7 dollars. If you purchase several different slices and cut them like tapas then the price doesn't sting or do a YELP check-in: BOGO slice free WHAT'S THE NUTS AND BOLTS? In the future, Prince would be a toss up for me and I live downtown. HIGHLIGHTS All those slices above were shared between two people. I didn't have a tummy ache or heavy feeling the next day. Very underwhelming. Hyped up and not worth it. The pizza is lukewarm when you get it Pizza 6/10: i got the spring and vodka sauce pizza. I think people like it for the crunch. If you enjoy this crunch pan toast your pizzas. Pretty sure my vodka sauce pizza was suppose to come with prosciutto, but it did not. It was OK overall just not worth the hype. Atmosphere 2/10: i dont know why they have tables outside and dont use them. Makes no sense. Zero dine in even though they have tables. Service 5/10: pretty sure they got my order wrong. Price $$: $7 a slice.
Been to NY and Las Vegas location and this time around, not so good. The crust was chewy, not as crunchy as other locations. 1. It’s yesterday’s pizza reheated, thus not fresh, or 2. Not left in oven long enough to make crust crunchy, either way, not as good. Only this location comes with a nice whiff of homeless or late night drunk urine smell at the door.
Heard great things. It was okay but not my jam. Very greasy, pan style pizza. Not deep dish but sort of crispy crust, rectangular pizza. There were lots of toppings so not skimpy but just kind of heavy. I prefer a thinner crust. It reminded me of pizza I had that was described as "Detroit Style" but I don't know if that's a more specific type.
I'm surprised that I haven't reviewed this place, yet. We moved here a year or so ago and was our go-to pizza for easily the first 7/8 months after moving here. Our last I-don't-know-how-many pizzas have been sad, without enough cheese. There is a good 2" of cheese missing (not including the crust, of course, just the traditional cheesed area of a pizza). I have already reviewed this situation directly via the company's follow up email, but the pizzas have been like this with every order since. I realize that they get busy, especially on Padres game days - but it's like this on game days AND non game days. We used to order regularly every week, but we let that fall the last few months because of the lack of cheese. This last order may have put us over the edge and make us want to look elsewhere. Their location is a good one, not only is it walking distance from our home but it's in Gaslamp so a great spot if you're on your way to a game or the Convention Center. We used to see their manager with every visit, and he always made it a point to thank us for the business - no matter how busy they were. I guess that person is gone, I haven't seen him in months, which may explain why the pizza isn't as good as it used to be. Thank you for reading my review.
Premade pizza heated in an electric oven while you wait 30 minutes to order!!! Crazy. The premade pies are all they offer, you want to add pepperoni, cheese or something, sorry, "we only sell what's up there." I earnestly waited 30 minutes for the line to move 12 people ordering slices.
I’ve ordered this place a few times and the spicy spring has been great. Unfortunately, last night I ordered through Uber eats and received a box with the greasiest uncooked dough I’ve ever seen on a pizza. When I bit it it was as soft as Ice cream. It was disgusting and I couldn’t salvage any of it. Not sure what happened; I got a refund from uber because it was inedible. Gross
To the workers… do you think you could undercook the pizzas a big while they are sitting out so when you do heat them up they can be cooked right? They are already cooked too much when they are on the plates in the window. Then they are burned in the oven. And maybe put less oil? They would be good pizzas if they just weren’t overly cooked. Thank you.
Was pretty excited for vodka sauce pizza. They were busy and rushing. I was patient really did t care about wait. Pizza was a big sloppy mess toppings falling right off. Ceases salad had the butt of the lettuce in it. Should have gotten a slice instead of personal pizza.
First time I ordered this pizza and I can say humbly I have met my first pizza slice that I strongly disliked. Ordered deep dish pepperoni with extra cheese and what I got was I don’t even know what that was. Didn’t taste good the extra cheese looked like ranch not even cheese. As humans eat with our eyes. I might try one more time but the amount of pizza is a little overwhelming as well. Wasted money but now I know. Also before my intelligence of pizza gets questioned this is not Sicilian style I have been eating Sicilian style of pizza for over 30 years. I’ll probably will not come back.
Ordered 2 pizzas. The original Prince and the Mercer Margherita. Both were terrible! The sauce is very sweet. Absolutely terrible!
Really disappointing. We ordered a pizza for delivery and requested no hot honey and added fresh garlic. Guess what? Pizza came with hot honey and no garlic. For the insane expense of this pizza ($60 with tip) and to not get what we ordered, I will never order from here again. Buyer beware! And how should I message you? No one answers the phone when I call.
Great pizza but shitty customer service. I clearly needed a bag and the worker handed me a bag so small I couldn’t even fit my pizzas inside, and the one pizza box had to sit vertical rather than horizontal. The worker then watched me as I struggled to fit my order inside the bag (something they should have done) and when he saw me struggling, the kind thing to do is help, especially when it’s a customer. Clearly they do not care if you come back or not. 0/10 customer service
