The Flame Broiler

I ordered thru DoorDash the other night. I got two bowls beef and chicken with veggies. I like having green onion in my bowls too which they add for free. I did call and request extra magic sauce and my order arrived exactly as requested. Really good customer service. I highly recommend.

Not bad fast food style joint. The meat is pretty tasty but I would prefer they cook their vegetables or cook them more. The extreme crunch on top of soft meat and rice is off putting to me. Great location too! So if you are shopping at Ralphs and that made you too tired to cook, come check this place out.

Shrinkflation is powerful here. Costs are up, bowls are smaller, and the portions are becoming disappointing. The regular bowl these days is the same size as the OG kids bowl. I mean, it's still a delicious and filling meal, but it used to be a delicious and filling meal for 2. Their new tagline should be, "Flame Broiler: Lite on Calories, Lite on Value!"

It is what it is. Pretty good. Not sure I would call it healthy, but it's healthier than most places. They're quick and efficient most of the time. The tofu is great but takes a bit longer. I just don't understand what you have to get through the tipping screen to pay. This is like the opposite of service, a step up from self service.

Hubby and I stopped at this strip mall restaurant in the busy Ralph's shopping center. It did not disappoint. We were very hungry and in a hurry. I had the chicken veggie bowl on brown rice, he had a mini chicken bowl. Service was very fast, food was hot and fresh, and very tasty. Plenty of chicken, mixed veggies and delicious brown rice. I was afraid to try the hot sauces but the "magic" sauce was perfect for me, kind of a teriyaki sauce with soy sauce, mild. (My food was very bland without sauce - you will want to top your meal with one of the sauce choices.)

I ordered the half-n-half plate with rice and veggies with the cabbage salad. The chicken had that hint of grilled meat taste but the beef was just average to me, nothing too flavorful. The veggies was actually good but I didn't really like the cabbage. A solid 3 star for your run-of-the-mill mall food.

It's a nice flame broiler. The woman working the counter was pretty rude though (or tired). She had 3 orders up getting cold (mine was one of them) but instead she just kept taking new orders. I got it to go, so by the time I got home it was barely luke-warm. Also, the Magic Sauce tasted weird here. By far my worst Flame Boiler experience (never had a problem with any other one's. Hey Corporate, please work on making your food taste consistent amongst franchises)

After we ordered and were handed drink cups, we went to the soda fountain to find that a couple sodas were out of order and if we wanted one of those drinks to ask for it at the counter. The lady working there looked confused when I asked her for Sprite. She said it only comes in a can and she would give it to me if I paid $1. Why should I pay more? I already bought a drink. She ended up just giving me the can for no additional charge, but she made me give her back the cup which I HOPE she does not put back and give to another customer. Despite just opening, the tables were covered in rice which means the tables were dirty all night. The food was hot and fresh. The overall taste was decent. Before leaving, I noticed that a fountain drink cost MORE than a can. Even though it was only a dollar plus change difference and I didnt want to make a huge deal out of it, the lady working at the cash register made a face and walked away as soon as I pointed it out. First visit to Flame Broiler, will most likely NEVER come to this location again.

I love Flame Broiler! Unfortunately, this is the location closest to my home. This location is the sketchiest one I've ever seen. The walls are this disgusting lime green color that looks old and grimy. There are a few tables inside, but they're always dirty. So I always order to-go. Except this time... my parents and I were dining here before heading to an event near the Embarcadero so we ate inside (it was cold outside). There was one table for 4 in the whole place and a solo person was sitting there eating. So we huddled around a table for 2 until that lady left. Luckily, I had some wipes with me and I wiped down the table. The woman at the counter got our order wrong. Like really wrong. The three of us each ordered a regular bowl and somehow she rang up two bowls and one plate. We each asked for no onions (something they always ask) and two of our dishes ended up with onions. They had to remake mine because I can't eat onions. I looked at the receipt and she had rung it up wrong. And they somehow added avocado to my dad's dish, but my dad doesn't even like avocado. When I told the woman about it, she acted like we got gifted something for free with the avocado that my dad wouldn't eat. She was like "well, I didn't charge you for it." Uh no, but you also charged us for a plate when I asked for a bowl. Such poor service. I understand that things happen, but she didn't make a whole lot of effort to apologize for her mistakes or for overcharging us. I didn't press the issue because it was only a few bucks difference, but still. I'll still go back to this location (for takeout only!), but I will be scrutinizing what is entered into the register very carefully!

Tough meat, don't think I would get this again. The red sauce is spicy. I wish I could get a portion in between the bowl and the plate.

The mixed veggies are big pieces of cabbage. A couple little pieces of probably carrot and I think I saw broccoli. The cabbage are huge pieces . The meat was so dry, chewy, and rubbery. Tasted like it's overcooked pieces that had black char. It's either been sitting around a long time or was just rewarmed. I was very disappointed with this chicken. Rather go to Panda Inn in for a bowl. This place advertised how healthy they are and how their chicken has no hormones.etc. Don't think I will be back. Unless I'm craving dried up hard pieces of old tasting chicken. Also I decided to not put the magic sauce on bc it's really thick and syrupy looking. This was gross. Go to Apollo Loco for real Chicken that will not kill your teeth Stop the bots! This place is gross. I got sick. Cheap protein 🤮

I let them know I couldn’t press down for sauce’s because of my hand and the lady at the counter was rude!!! Secondly they messed up my order so i called one of my bowls was made wrong i called to let them know that they messed up my order. The lady on the phone said okay come back and we will replace the bowl. I came back and the cashier Kimberly first off did not greet me because she was fixing her lashes. I explained to her what happened. She said well wheres the bowl and i said i did not bring the bowl back because i ate the rice i was on my break and couldn’t come back right away. She then said it’s common sense that u bring back the food!!! When they messed up my order ?? I drive back to argue because this cashier she didnt want to replace my order . I asked for a managers name and said theres no manager! I would like for someone to reach out to me about this matter! I will definitely not come back!!! The worst service i ever experienced!!!

I put the so called magic sauce on it to help out but the sauce is gross too, taste like overpowering thick soy sauce with some sweetness NOT teriyaki sauce. Not sure how people like this food at all. By my third bite I just gave up in the trash it goes.

The lady with the purple pink tails was rude and has 0 customer service skills. Walked in waited and tried to order and she made me feel like I was bother her. Not sure if she was having a bad day, but she shouldn’t treat customers like that

Just confirming hair in the food. Workers literally never have hairnets! The food is good though. It's really is a shame they don't practice good hygiene, my wife and I would usually there once a week or more until I got hair in my food. Haven't eaten there since - I've gone back several times to see if they upped there hygiene, but they never have. Makes me wonder what other bad habits the restaurant has. Really good food, but I could never recommend or advice eating at the restaurant.

Used to go here all the time, the past 4 or 5 times I’ve gone the meat has come out so dry and chewy. I don’t even finish the bowl anymore. Real shame, friends and I loved this place.

First off i walked in and they were rude. I asked for sauces because my hand is on a cast and they said the sauces behind the counter where only for take out. Haven't eaten there since - I've gone back several times to see if they upped there hygiene, but they never have. Makes me wonder what other bad habits the restaurant has.
