Opinions de Dim Sum Club San Francisco
We were visiting SF and one thing my hubby always want is dim sum. We just didn't want to spend an arm and a leg for it. We heard of Dim Sum Club and never tried it. So why not? We were 2nd on the wait list and got seated within about 10 mins. Its a small cute little restaurant so no carts rolling around here. They give you a menu and pen, you mark what you want. They took our order quickly but food took a while to come out. Once it started coming, though, it was worth the wait, everything tasted great! My favorite was the chives and shrimp dumplings, the skin was a perfect thick/thinness, so fresh, full of flavor. We ordered two types of tripe, spicy and soy/ginger. The radishes was crispy on the outside and soft on the outside. The stuffed eggplant was surprisingly delicious, it had a crispy skin and sweet soy glaze with a little ball of minced plumped shrimp. The chicken feet were tender and seasoned just right. And of course you can't go wrong with thr basics of ha gow and siu mai. The food was delicious overall and not overpriced like a lot of dim sum spots in SF. Even with the slow timing, I’d still come back for the food alone.
Came here for dim sum for the first time with my family, it was so good! We love getting the OG dishes like siu mai and har gow. I feel like if a place can get just the originals right, then everything else will taste good and I was right! I almost wanted to get another plate of siu mai but I was already so full from everything else. Coming here on a weekend is definitely going to be really busy and may have a long wait, definitely plan ahead!
I really liked this place! Old dim sum style vibes, every dish they served is packed with flavours and generous ingredients. The pricing is really reasonable. Love it!
Great portions and taste. Their Mongolian beef was so tender and juicy. The chow mein packed the right flavors. Seafood tofu soup is mid. Dim sums are average, nothing mind blowing. Salt and pepper shrimps had shells but tasted great. The sesame balls were alright. Our whole table got a free coconut pudding dessert since it was my dad's birthday. Service was great and the restaurant wasn't busy on an early Friday evening. We will come back.
Came here on Father's Day and the wait was not bad for a party of 2 people. The most memorable item I ordered here was their soup dumplings (xlb). It was a mouthful of flavor and were piping hot! It tasted great with a little bit of vinegar and ginger. Their dim sum prices are also really reasonable. I also really enjoyed their ham sui gok! They were crispy and fresh. I have no complaints about their dim sum. I'd be more than happy to come back here for more dim sum. They give you a disposable menu for you to write down how many of each dish you would like. It is not a traditional dim sum place with a cart coming around, but servers here are attentive and it was easy to wave down and employee for any requests. Street parking only, but the restaurant is right in front of the L train.
@dimsumclub_sf is where the party’s at because they serve authentic dim sum all day! The menu is huge and has all the classics, in addition to it being delicious and afffordable! The portions are big enough to share and being around $5-$9 each. It’s definitely worth checking out! They don’t speak much English though so best to order from the paper menu!
This place is soooo good. I love that they have dim sum for dinner. It was pretty crowded on a weeknight with tons of families so we knew it would be good. My boyfriend said this might be the best dim sum he’s ever had but maybe he was a little hungry. Everything that we ordered was an absolute hit. We ate every last bit of food that we ordered too. I ordered the “beef roll” thinking it was the rice roll with sweet soy sauce but it turned out to be marinated beef, cucumber, spring onion, plum sauce wrapped in a green onion pancake. Not what I expected but really good, reminded me of a Peking duck roll. The only non-positive thing we could say about this place was that the regular xlb and the spicy ones tasted exactly the same except the spicy ones were in tins that were sort of difficult to remove the dumplings from without ripping. Still it was delicious. We ate all of our food in less than 15 minutes. Will definitely be coming back
August 2024: Enjoyed a very nice lunch. Chow fun and Singaporean rice noodles were delicious. The pea sprouts in broth was also a winner 🏆! January 2024: Stopped by for dinner and enjoyed my meal. This restaurant changed the name. The last time I was here, I believe it had a different name. Dinner was really tasty. Had an eggplant dim sum, a tofu bowl, Shanghai noodles, vermicelli seafood and a tofu with beef. Service was friendly. Will definitely come back again for more dinner! 5-28-21: Came here for lunch and had an excellent meal. Char sui bow was delicious. Bitter melon rice noodles with shrimp was an unusual and pleasant dish, won tons had good amount of filling, chow fun was tasty. Everything was great. I would order everything again! Service was friendly and staff wore their masks all the time. Felt safe and everything was clean. Will definitely be back for more delicious food!
Delicious dim sum. Get the pork gyozas. Juicy and plump—-never had it this big! Everything so fresh the rice noodles, the shrimp dumpling, bbq pork buns, everything Order anything and it will be delicious!
Finally we found an awesome Chinese restaurant that serves both dim sum and the main entrees. When we walked in, we saw lots of asian families so we immediately thought great! If locals eat here, it's a good sign! I have been missing the rice noodle roll so much and it delivered! Everything was just perfect! We ordered so much that we had to have the rest to go, was not going to waste such awesome delicacy! Wish I remembered what I ordered, but I can assure you that all of them were delicious! Finding parking can be hard though, had to park about a block away. But we were not complaining as it helped us digest the food in our belly after such feast! Definitely recommend and will want to come back again!
Sometimes, very rarely, one find a jewel in the desert. Dim Sum Club is such a jewel. The owners have obviously invested pride in every aspect of their business. The food is extraordinary, the ambience and the bathrooms are clean and comfortable. I would recommend this restaurant as one of the premiere bang for your buck in San Francisco.
Dim sum at night! One thing that annoys me about a lot of dim sum places is that they don't serve dim sum at dinner time. This place does things differently. For dinner, you can order off their full dim sum menu and/or order non-dim sum dishes like clay pot, noodles, etc. So far, I've tried the pea sprouts, shrimp rice roll, xiao long bao, lobster lo mein, and mango pudding. Everything was really good. I especially liked the shrimp rice roll and lobster lo mein. The texture of the rice roll is perfect, soft and chewy. The lobster lo mein is delicious, and only cost $26 which is quite a good deal for the amount of noodles and lobster you get (my partner and I had a good amount left over). I don't think the lo mein is on the menu, Uncle David said it's a special. That brings me to Uncle David—I think he's the owner(?), and is super nice. He told us about the lobster dish, and also gave us two free mango puddings for dessert. The other aspects of the service were great too, the food came out really quickly. Lastly, the interior is quite spacious, and there are a lot of tables for larger and smaller groups. Overall, highly recommend this place!
Small (about 12 tables) restaurant on Taraval. On a Sunday lunchtime, there was a wait of about 15 minutes for a large table. Very busy/popular with a lot of people also doing takeout. Dim sum is very good here with generous serving size and excellent quality. Chow fun had a lot of wok smoky flavor. Service is very pleasant and quick. Dining room is noisy, but enough space between tables. Street parking is not that difficult within a block or so.
This was our first time here with no expectations. My party of 3 was seated right away on a busy Friday evening. The restaurant was busy and near capacity. We ordered 4 dishes and our total bill came out to be $73 after tip and tax. The food was outstanding. Every single one of the dishes we ordered met or exceeded expectations! We were greeted with free delicious soup and ended with free dessert- both were not anticipated. The prices were reasonable. Service was above average for a mid-level Chinese restaurant. The location was excellent as there aren't many chinese restaurants nearby and right on Taraval street (light rail). Parking was relatively easy for San Francisco and the sunset district. They were only in business for about 10 months. I hope they stay in business and it is a must try for locals and visitors in the area!
Everyone knows that a good dim sum spot has questionable service and a dining area full of elderly Canto folk. This place has both. Came right at open and the dim sum was very fresh and tasted nice and clean. The har gow had a strong sesame oil that gave an extra depth of flavor. Don’t think twice, it’s a good spot

Great place to grab dim sum. It's a small restaurant that usually has a short wait for a table but the food tastes great and comes out quickly. The wait gives you time to observe the older Chinese clientele who frequent this restaurant which is always a good sign. My only complaint is that we order too much food and I eat more than I should when we come here. Some leftovers heat up better than others so that's how I prioritize what I stuff myself with.

Came here on a Saturday noon on a rainy day. No waiting since they have a table for two available. There is a huge variety of dim sums available. Huge portion and amazing taste. Everything is fresh and prefect. Would love to be back again for more.

My parents were visiting this week and I took them here on a Sunday looking for an authentic and not too pricey meal and this place was decent. Prices are not super cheap but not bad, especially compared to some of the better known dim sum places in the city like Dragon Beaux or Yank Sing. We came a little before 12pm and there were a few tables left in the restaurant but it was pretty packed! When we left there were people waiting outside. Overall, everything tasted super freshly made! Har Gow - made very nicely, lots of shrimp and perfectly wrapped! Bean Curd Roll - this one was the best in my opinion! BBQ Pork Rice Noodle Roll - the char siu wasn’t top notch but it was decent. Chinese Donut Rice Noodle Roll - the Chinese donut inside was nice and crispy- well made! Turnip Cake with XO Sauce - (see photo) this one was super weird, not the authentic style. They are in little cubes (looks like tofu!) and does not have much other stuff mixed into the turnip but there is garnish. It was very spicy and flavorful but definitely not what I expected. Deep Fried Sesame Ball - this one was super fresh and yummy! I would definitely get this one again. After our meal we were really surprised that they charged for tea though! It was $1.50 per person for po lei / pu-erh tea. Come Again? Sure- not dying to come again anytime soon but this meal was pretty decent! Wasn’t blown away and it isn’t a favorite of mine but it was a yummy meal and I was pretty satisfied.
Came here for the first time today during lunch. My parents have been here a couple of times and it was pretty decent. The place is not very large and it doesn't seem like they have many large tables, but they can fit a good about a people in the restaurant. We were immediately given a table as soon as we walked in, and were given tea and the menus to order from. It's pretty simple you just Mark what you want and hand it over to the waiter and they will enter your order into their system. Food comes out pretty quickly and is piping hot. The taste overall is pretty good and I have no complaints. Highlights I would suggest getting are the siu mai and stuffed eggplant. He also got an order of the beef chow fun which was pretty good. Prices are pretty reasonable here. Overall a pretty decent experience, service is a little spotty when the restaurant gets very full.
Small place, serves dim sum all day into evening. Did not get the msg dry mouth which is good. Dim sum is flavorful except for the blackbean spareribs (bland as heck). Shrimp dishes gave good size shrimps. Give this place a try.

Price point was attractive compared to other restaurants. ( Yum Cha is, like everything else, getting so pricey these days). Was happy with most dishes. Got both pea sprouts as a side dish and inside a shrimp dumpling. Thought the Bean Curd wrap was pretty good as was the Har gow. Scallop dumpling was fine but not particularly memorable. Siu Mai was good not great. Bean Curd wrapped shrimp was probably my favorite item ordered. I think overall it was better than when this restaurant was on Van Ness back in the day.
