Opinions de Surisan San Francisco
This place is the best Korean place I've ever been to. There was no wait time, and the service was fast and reliable, we got our food within 15 minutes. In addition, the waiters were always nearby asking us if we needed anything. The atmosphere was great, lots of people had birthdays so a lot of birthday songs. Everyone just seemed really happy in there. 🎂 There was also Christmas music playing (we came right before Christmas). Finally, the food. Top-notch, especially for the price. The portions are pretty good too, four of us were fine eating only 3 entrees. I recommend getting the Korean fried chicken, especially with soy and garlic and sweet and spicy sauce. The cost before tips and taxes was 75 dollars, which for 3 utterly scrumptious dishes is a really good deal. I would definitely come back here. 👍
Best pancakes ever. I almost didn’t order them because they are ricotta but the ricotta is what makes them fluffy! You don’t taste the cheese. Millionaires bacon was good too but the pancakes is what will keep me coming back whenever I’m in town.
Truly outstanding. Even though it was very busy, the servers were on the ball and everything came out quickly and it was delicious. We had the blugogi japchae, shrimp tacos and Calamari (which was just a little overcooked). Will definitely be back!
Pleasant experience and very accommodating staff. The food was fantastic, filling, and reasonably priced. I strongly recommend the Korean tacos and ube latte 👌🏽
Wow! Everything hit the perfect note The Galbi-Jimm Benedict was succulent and melts in your mouth The ricotta pancake might be the best pancakes I've tried in the city, and the Vermont maple syrup is chefs kiss But mostly importantly, everyone is extremely friendly, amazing service
We chanced upon this place as we were searching for a place to eat dinner near our hotel. And what a fine discovery! They were able to accommodate us even without a reservation because we got there early. The food was superb! It’s a fusion place but it tasted distinctly Korean — which we absolutely love! You can order anything here and you won’t be disappointed. We were so enamored by this place that we ate here twice during our weeklong vacation in San Francisco.
Five stars all the way. The food was so good. In fact we were already planning our next visit to this location as we were leaving. The restaurant has a nice, clean dining area with good ambiance. The music wasn't overbearing but just below the surface of a normal conversation. First visit here. I will be back. Bookmarked for future visits.
Dining at Surisan was truly delightful! The kimchi stew came bubbling hot, with a rich and mildly spicy broth that paired perfectly with rice. The Korean fried chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy inside, seasoned just right and complemented by refreshing pickled radish. The stone pot bibimbap was colorful and hearty, featuring fresh vegetables, tender beef, and a perfectly cooked fried egg that added extra flavor. The warm atmosphere and attentive service made the experience even better. Overall, both the food and ambiance were excellent—definitely a restaurant worth recommending!
We stumbled upon Surisan and had a wonderful Saturday morning brunch! Plenty of seating on the patio, not much street noise, and the service was quick. We enjoyed the Blackstone Benedict and Belly Bap. The bacon lived up to the hype! We would gladly return to try the rest of the menu.
Surisan is located right by Fisherman’s Wharf, with a great view and a cozy, stylish atmosphere that feels relaxed and inviting. The service was solid and professional — everything we needed was taken care of without being overly chatty or intrusive, which I personally appreciated. It made the whole experience feel comfortable and well-paced. The food was mostly very enjoyable, with one absolute standout: the Poke Salad. It was genuinely outstanding — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully layered. The sweetness from the mango added a perfect contrast, and the poke was served inside a giant crispy shrimp cracker “bowl,” which was both creative and delicious. This dish alone is worth coming back for. We also tried the stir-fried Shin ramen. The presentation was cute and playful, and flavor-wise it was exactly what you’d expect — a solid, comforting fried noodle dish. The raspberry lemonade was rich and refreshing, and the dessert (I unfortunately forgot the name) was nicely balanced and not overly sweet. One dish I would strongly recommend skipping is the Loco Moco. It was overcooked, and the patty was extremely tough and dry — easily the weakest dish of the night. Overall, Surisan is definitely worth a visit, especially if you’re already in the Fisherman’s Wharf area. It’s a chill, pleasant place with a great location and some genuinely excellent dishes — just be selective about what you order.
Prompt and courteous service. Quite full by 7:30pm but lots of tables at 7pm. I worked call this Korean-Mexican rather than Korean, e.g. tacos with bulgogi and fries, nachos with cheese and bulgogi. Generous size dishes they are good to share. Good cocktails and mocktails. Meal came out very fast.
🍳 Brunch at Surisan – Worth a Stop in SF! 🥓 Dropped into Surisan for brunch and overall had a solid experience with a few highs and lows. ✅ The MBLT wrap (miso bacon, lettuce & tomato) was fantastic—savory, satisfying, and wrapped up just right. 💙 The blueberry-stuffed French toast? Next-level. Perfect texture, not overly sweet, and packed with flavor. I’d go back just for that. 😕 The popover, though, was a miss—overcooked and dry. Definitely didn’t live up to the hype. ☕️ Service was friendly, but I had to ask for water and coffee refills (minor detail, but worth noting). 📝 Overall: Good vibes, great menu, and some standout dishes. Just a couple small things from being a 5-star brunch spot.
Went here for breakfast, got the french toast. Overall it was not worth the price. The bread had no flavor and the center filling was also flavorless. it was crunchy and the caramel was the only part that made it palatable. maybe the other items are good but the breakfast french toast was not good.
Service was awful. No one ever checked on us to see how our food was or if we needed anything. Person filling water seemed very put out, no smiles or small talk just rbf. We had the French toast which was NOT good at all and barely touched... and the ramyun which was literally just prepackaged ramen with veggies in it. The only thing this restaurant has going for it, is the bacon. Holy crap that bacon is good. Oh the matcha was good also. But bacon and matcha don't make a restaurant. So very disappointed. Won't be back.
We went on a Sunday afternoon around 2pm. The way in was quite confusing, with a sign at the base of the ramp saying "wait here" but no one came by for a few min. We eventually walked to the front check out and someone sat us. Food came out quick and was hot. Chicken jook was scrumptious. I would order it again. Very comforting. However, Korean Fried Chicken wings with the umami citrus flavoring was lackluster. The fries looked delicious but we're WAYYY too salty. The bimbimbap dish was ok- came out in a sizzling skillet but had little protein and no sauce or runny egg. Dry rice and underseasoned veg. All with Just water was 120$. Our server barely checked in with us too. It was an underwhelming experience. We were looking forward to it and have had it on our list of places to try for a while but for the flavors and the price, plus service? I wouldn't come back
Came here right at 9 a.m. on a Monday for breakfast. The interior has a nice modern café and homey feel. Unfortunately, the service wasn’t the best. Our server forgot to order my food, so I had to wait until everyone else was finished eating before mine came out. They offered me a specialty fruit drink and 20% off my dish, which ended up being about $5 off. I appreciated the gesture, but considering the situation, I think comping the dish would’ve been more appropriate, especially since I don’t drink juice or soda, so the fruit drink went untouched. As for the food, the French toast was definitely the highlight with a crispy outside and creamy center that was really well done. I ordered the Surisan Scramble, which was decent, though the bread that came with it was a bit burnt. Overall, the food was pretty good, but the service missed the mark and made the experience just okay.
