Excellent appetizers and more than just pizza, the chicken salad is great and the BBQ chicken pizza is a favorite with Gouda cheese. Our server and service overall was good. Great family accommodations.

We have been coming here since I moved to San Marcos for college in 2009, and the quality has always been consistent. The only thing that’s changed besides the prices is how cute the patio is!! It’s been our go to for years, and a must whenever I’m in town.

My mom and I visited Sammie’s Woodfire Pizza on a Friday evening around 5 PM during their happy hour (3–6 PM), and we had such a great experience! We ordered from the half-off happy hour menu and got the beef spring rolls and a pizza. To our surprise, both were full-size portions — such an amazing deal. Everything came out hot and fresh with a normal restaurant wait time, even though they were pretty busy. It was full but not overly packed, which made for a comfortable atmosphere. Above all, our server Roxie truly made the experience special. She was so sweet, incredibly knowledgeable, and took the time to answer all our questions. Her service really stood out and made us feel so welcome. She definitely deserves a raise — keep her around! We’ll absolutely be back! 🍕

My most recent lunch was lovely, made more so by our server Jessie. She truly gave us exceptional service. She helped us to make great choices on what to order. She was attentive when we needed refills and helped us to celebrate a birthday . Thank you Jessie.. You helped to make our celebration so much better !

Today I didnt get to enjoy a meal myself but I was able to buy one for a sweet woman down on her luck. She knew what she liked and so did the staff. When many restuarants might have turned her away or made her feel less than welcome Sammy's in San Marcos has welcomed her with open arms and treated her with the dignity and respect we all deserve. For that reason alone they get 5 stars and have earned me as a repeat customer! Thank you for being a light in a dark world.

We had dinner again at Sammy's last night, it's our favorite local restaurant. It's always a good experience so it's about time I posted a review! The atmosphere of the restaurant is friendly and relaxed, you can dine inside or out on they're lovely patio. We were welcomed in by a friendly Host who took us to our table. I didn't catch his name (sorry!) dark hair, pony tail, lovely smile, he deserves mention as he even popped by several times during dinner to see if we needed anything. Hosts usually don't bother to do that so huge Thank You! Our server Roxy was friendly, patient and also checked on us throughout the meal to see if we needed anything. The pizza was perfect, cheers to the kitchen crew! My Husband loved the coffee and had several cups, that really helped make his meal as he's quite picky with coffee! The bill didn't break the bank and the meal was worth every penny! They have plenty of yummy items on their menu so pop on in and give them a try!

Had a reservation for Sunday. We were greeted promptly by Carlie. She was also our server and, at that time, the only server. She was very calm, thoughtful, attentive and helpful with suggestions. Food was delivered in a timely manner and was delicious. I’ve read other reviews about the servers here at Sammy’s and management must be doing something right to have so many rave reviews about their servers. Keep it up.

Sammy's is a great place to go if your looking for a bistro type atmosphere with way above average food. Their "happy hour" specials are a good value, food is fresh and a fun selection. Drinks are reasonable, with some specialty versions. The staff/servers are great!! They're friendly, very accommodating to modify specialty drinks when they can. And they recognize us now when we come in.. It was Happy Hour on a Saturday & there was no wait to get a table. Because, the layout of the restaurant is open, when it's busy it can be a bit noisey. But then it is a bistro...lol. However, they do have some enclosed & heated outdoor seating that is quieter and very good when the weather permits. Overall, Sammy's is a great choice.

Terrible, the Thai salad i wanted is no longer available so we got 2 original chicken chop salads. Both had all lettuce with no chicken, tomatoes, olives etc. $28.50 each, really? The cheesey garlic bread had no flavor and was like cardboard. $16.50. Terrible, very disappointed. We used to love the Thai chicken salad, too bad. Will never go there again.

By the time we got it to our table, it was cold. Behind the corner I saw the staff on their phones and chatting. Everyone else besides the person with the allergy had eaten at that point. It took nearly an hour after we got sat for the dirty table next to us to be cleared, another wasn’t cleared by the time we left despite the people leaving when we got there (picture). They tried to blame it on a shift change during the service but, that was only the cooks. Additional wait staff came in but there was no change in the wait staff besides that.

I rarely do food reviews. But in this instance its a must. The Food is not great. Their Alfredo tasted like it was out of a jar. Bread came with individual butter like you get at hotel breakfast. For the price of their food, its some of the worst tasting Ive had in my whole life. Highly recommend not spending your money.
