Opinions de Dumpling Bar San Marino
This place is 5 star all around!! You get a bang for your buck. $29.99 all you can eat during the week and $32.99 during the weekend is not a bad deal. You get good quality food and handmade dumplings. The Dan Dan noodles were on point with the pork katsu which was crispy and succulent. All the dumplings hit but my favorite were the Wagyu dumplings and the black truffle. If you haven’t been here make sure to check it out. Check out my content on YouTube, instagram, TikTok and Facebook.
My husband and I went on a Friday a little passed noon and didn't have to wait to be seated. Small location but very popular with delicious food. We went with the all you can eat since it includes the entire menu which to me was a pretty good deal. Food was brought out in a timely matter, staff was friendly and welcoming. Definitely would like to go back
We came here for the all you can eat, and it was absolutely worth it.Dumpling Bar on Huntington Drive delivers solid value and good quality, especially if you come hungry. The dumplings came out hot, fresh, and consistently good. You are not getting tiny portions or rushed plates. They keep them coming, and everything tasted properly cooked and well seasoned. What stood out was that the food did not feel mass produced even though it was AYCE. The wrappers had a good bite, the fillings were flavorful, and nothing tasted frozen or old. We tried several rounds and never felt like the quality dropped. Service was attentive and efficient. Plates came out at a steady pace, and we never felt ignored or pressured to leave. They explained the AYCE rules clearly, which made the experience smooth. The ambiance feels well balanced. There is some light chatter around, but it never gets overwhelming. It is comfortable, relaxed, and a good place to sit, eat, and enjoy your time. Overall, if you are debating whether the all you can eat option is worth it, it is. You leave full, satisfied, and feeling like you got your money’s worth. Definitely a spot I would return to for dumplings.
The food here is delicious! Amazing! Definitely rivals the well known competitor (DTF) in flavor and quality of the dishes. We had the Xioa Long Bao (soup dumpling) so good, decent sized, great flavor, 6 pieces. We also tried the scallion oil noodles with pork cutlet, my son LOVED IT, the noodles were perfectly cooked and the cutlet was so crispy. We also shared the chicken wonton in spicy sauce, also a favorite. The sauce was well balanced mix of sweet, spicy, tangy flavors complementing the wonton. Of course we had the traditional cucumber salad and string beans w/garlic. A must when going to a dumpling restaurant. The string beans had a little char on them but a good snap when you bite into them and soooooo garlicky. I wiuld definitely recommend. The place is small, only about 10-15 tables of 2; so there was a bit of a wait. We went on a Saturday afternoon between 12-1 and we waited about 25-30 min for 2 people. Overall, a great experience. Oh also you can order items individually or as AYCE. Weekdays is $29.99 and weekends is $32.99. Not a bad deal if all you want is dumplings.
A very nice dumpling bar called dumpling bar. I’d say just follow the server’s recommendation because most of the dishes here are very good. Dandan noodle is very good. The katsu portion is large. I love fried rice the most, I think the flavor is really yummy and umami, although my friend said it can be made at home. XLB and spicy sauce dumplings are also very good and must try!
The Service: The employee of the year definitely goes to SUN!! It's a one man show. She is the host, server, busboy & cashier. Super efficient!! She is moving in & out the kitchen non-stop AND she is attentive to every table. Impressive customer service! The Food: This is what I called "comfort food". The chefs in the kitchen are working as a great team. Food are served quickly. They are steamy hot too. Since it is called Dumpling Bar. We definitely have to try their Xiao Long Bao & steamed dumplings. Yes! Very juicy inside Xiao Long Bao! Lots of meat filling of their dumplings. Good price too. If you like spicy & more strong flavor, try the Chicken Wonton. The spicy sauce is so good that I dipped all my dumplings in there. Scallions pancake is always my must order on the menu. Their pancakes are thicker & very flaky inside with lots of scallions. Extra effort for the chef to knead the dough. Sun recommended us to try their noodles dishes. So we ordered Taiwanese Dan Dan Noodles with fried pork cutlet and Braised Beef Noodles Soup. OMG! I think their noodles are handmade because great texture & chewy. The seasoning is just perfect. Not overly salty. Love the plating presentation too. They are very generous with the meat portions. We saw they have dessert buns, chocolate & custard flavors. We were too full but we will definitely come back again & try them. The Parking: Street parking (2hrs free) & more parking at the back They have a very small cute courtyard sharing with a sandwich shop & coffee shop.
Dumpling bar may be known for their juicy XLBs and pan fried dumplings, but I am such a fan of their shrimp har gow as well! The skin is so translucent and thin, and packed with a huge shrimp with shrimp paste that you don't get at any other dim sum place. It really surprised me how well-made it was! The fried dumplings were so crispy on the bottom and had a big portion of juicy meat as well. The only downside was the super long wait for our food (it was a weekday lunch time around 1 PM but seemed to be backed up in orders). The place was full but only one staff and maybe one person in the kitchen. We waited so long for the food that by the time we got our food the staff told us the kitchen will be closing, so we didn't get a chance to try more of the menu. Oh well.
First time to the restaurant. Food tasted great! Service was exceptional. The last order for the AYCE option must be placed by 1:15 pm as the restaurant closes at 2:00 pm. Be mindful that 15% service fee is already added when you're ready to pay.
If you’re in San Marino, you need to check out Dumpling Bar for their unbeatable $24.99 per person ($12.99 for children 3-12 yrs) AYCE every weekday (except Tuesday) deal — this spot serves up the perfect mix of Chinese comfort food and Asian fusion flavors😍🥢 We tried it all: 🔥 Hot & Sour Soup and Egg Drop Soup to start 🥟 Pork Xiao Long Bao and Boiled Dumplings (pork, shrimp, cabbage — so juicy!) 🍜 Taiwanese Dan Dan Noodles with that nutty, spicy kick 🥬 String Beans with Garlic for a crispy, garlicky bite 🦐 And the Creamy Garlic Parmesan Prawn Japanese Pasta — rich, creamy, and an unexpected favorite! Plus, dim sum staples like Har Gow and BBQ Pork Buns🙌🏼 Everything was fresh, flavorful, and made with so much care — definitely a San Marino gem worth checking out😋
AYCE Dim Sum in San Marino with drinks and dessert included! $30 weekdays or $33 weekends. À la carte is also available. The food comes out so fresh and flavorful. Make sure you get the truffle XLB, prawn pasta, and pork chop fried rice! Weekends can get busy if you don’t get there at opening. Definitely coming back for more. Service was fast and the dining area was clean.
AYCE!!! Get there early for a spot. We came late the first time and weren't able to get a spot. Definitely go with a friend, so you can try (most) of the menu. Everything we tried was insanely good.
Soft opening for a delicious dumpling bar in San Marino. The chef hailed from a 30 year old dumpling house in Taiwan. He came out and engaged with the customer. Really wanted to know our feedbacks. The manager and the staff were all so attentive and sweet. The food was awesome and i can definitely say the XLB rivals the best of them, including din tai fong. They made the skin all in-house, so you definitely taste the chewy-ness. The meat inside is soft and juicy. We also tried the dan dan noodle - has pork katsu on top with a mix of the meatsauce and peanut sauce. It is perfect balance of sweet and savory. With cucumber and beansprout, this dish is appreciably light and not at all heavy W/ oil/salt. The noodle again is well textured. The most delightful part of this meal is actually the side of pickled chili-oil cabbage. This little detail to the meal actually pulls the dishes together (like the ginger slices for the XLB). The other dishes all were equally delicious including their house special steam dumplings. Great additions to the SGV dumpling scene. Will come back again!!!
Overall everything was delicious, will be coming back. The raised beef noodles are to die for and the customer service was inviting
By far exceeded my expectations! Everything was delicious. I will suggest getting there 10 mins before they open because it gets busy! The restaurant got full fast and the wait was over an hour but definitely worth the wait. I recommend getting the all you can eat special.

Ummm this was so freaking good. Those lamb dumplings are so juicy. And it was one of the best hot & sour soups Ive had. Plenty of street parking. Came back and got egg drop soup, soup dumplings, and pan fried dumplings. ALL SO GOOD
Beef noodles dumplings and cucumbers are all delicious. I will come back to try other delicacies.
I stopped by this place after hearing a few good things, and I’m so glad I did! I tried the beef noodles, dumplings, and the cucumber salad—and honestly, everything was absolutely delicious. The beef noodles were packed with flavor—the broth was rich and comforting, and the beef was super tender. You could tell it had been simmered just right. The dumplings were also a highlight—juicy on the inside with a nice, thin wrapper that didn’t fall apart. Total comfort food! The cucumbers were such a refreshing side dish—crunchy, chilled, and tossed in a light, tangy sauce that paired really well with the heavier items. It all tasted homemade in the best way possible. I’m definitely coming back soon to try more from the menu. There’s so much I want to explore—this place really feels like a hidden gem!
What a solid spot for homemade dumplings and noodles! The price is right and everything comes made to order. This is a perfect place to share a bunch of different plates. Service was so great and it’s very much a nice “come-as-you-are” spot for casual dining.
We got there early and were able to get 12 of us together. Of course that means orders take a little longer and can get confused but the price is great, it includes drinks, with a large party on the weekend it’ll be about $40/pp and you leave happy.
Artisan Cafe style Taiwanese/Chinese food? Not typical dish styles or taste you'll see around 626. Reason I think theur dishes are delicate or artisan style. Quality and cleanliness of food are nice. There aren't many restaurants in San Marino so this place will stand out. They offer beer (no wine or other alcoholic drinks right now). I'd imagine this place to be a good take out/pick up place for San Marino and North Alhambra residence. No outdoor seating. I believe the outdoor patio tables belong to the cafe next door. $12.99 Dumplings (8pc). My cousin liked this. I enjoyed the quality. $17.99 Taiwanese Dan Dan Noodles HAS NO PEANUTS for us Americans!! It'll usually have peanuts but it's catered to the US demographic full of extreme peanut allergies. Comes with pork katsu. Noodles were good texture. $7.99 Shao Mai (4pc) $12.99 Chicken Spicy Wontons. Dough seemed different from many wonton places I've tried. $6.99 Cucumber Salad. Loved this! Out of everything, I think I will remember to order this again. $9.99 Imperial Xiaolongbao (6pc). Better than expected!! And I'm extremely picky. I'm not a fan of din tai fung and many places. This xiao long bao has a thin wrap, delicate. Inside is fresh. I'll have to come back to retry this. $18.99 Braised Beef Noodle Soup is brothless. It's different from mainstream broth type. It reminds me more of jiajia mien. Staff mentions it's the traditional style? Our families are from Taiwan, and never knew this? Maybe regional style we're not used to? Taiwanese Chef was super nice and engaging. If you speak taiwanese, you may get a special treat? Crispy wonton sugar was nice. We ordered a lot of food to try. I'll come back to retry the dumplings and xiao long bao. And try a new noodle dish, or stick with the Dan Dan noodles.

Pot stickers, Xiao long bao are flavorful, fresh and juicy. Seaweed egg drop soup is flavorful. Braised beef noodle is lacking in flavor, it's missing depth in flavor. Hot and soup is too oily and the flavor is off . Bbq pork buns doesn't taste and looks like they made it ( more like store bought ). For the noodles portions are too big and lack in flavor. They also automatically charge 15% Service fee. Will I come back for it? No

Service was good, but what suprised me was a 15% service charge. Paid over 90+ for 2 people which is crazy considering they advertise themselves as 30$ per person. Place would’ve been a 5 star if they didn’t have hidden fees.
We arrived 7:30pm on Friday. The hostess/waitress did not want to give us a table (for 2) because the would close at 8! So we had to order to go, and just before the delivered our order 7:45, two guys came in and she did give them a table to dine in. TERRIBLE SERVICE, TERRIBLE ATTITUDE FROM STAFF. Under average food. A BAD experience after all.. would not recommend it.

A plate of burnt potstickers for $10.99... If i can give it zero star. Quite ridiculous. The chef and/or owner saw how burnt and didn't say a thing about it or take it off the bill. My first and last visit. And forgot to mentioned... We were the only table in there at the time... Not like they were busy... This is the quality of food they served.
Never got to eat there. I was on vacation in Cali from the East Coast. We arrived at 6:15 pm on a Monday night after a $50 Rideshare in the cold rain only to be greeted with an attitude. She said last call is at 7:15 pm (though they advertise an 8pm closing time) and that there were 4 parties ahead of the 2 of us. She quoted the wait as 1 hour and 15 minutes which would put us past last call. I told her that we had spent a good amount of time and money to get there. She didn’t care. She didn’t offer me to order takeout nor cared to offer a chair so we wouldn’t have to go back out in the cold rain. She reluctantly took my phone number and of course never called. We walked up the street about 10 minutes in the rain to another place that thankfully fed us. More people came in behind us - who knows what they were told. I saw her writing their info down too. What was the point in that?
I arrived at 12:05 p.m. and was informed that I was next in line. However, a party of six who arrived after me was seated first, apparently because they had a larger group. Shortly afterward, another party of three with a baby was also seated before me. By this time, it was already 1:12 p.m., even though the store closes at 2:00 p.m. This experience was extremely disappointing, and the service felt very unprofessional and unfair.
I tried 7 dishes with a group of friends and sadly each one was quite disappointing. The food here is not good. Dumplings tasted like store bought. No flavor. Over priced and small portions.
So annoyed. Showed up at 6:30. Got told that they're closed. They close at 8... the restaurant was full and she had too many people on the wait list I guess. But that wasn't communicated to me by the host. The host just kind of shouted "we're closed last call is 7:20" ... so I drove an hour for nothing. Yay.
