Opinions de George’s Thai Bistro Santa Ana
One of the best Thai food restaurants. I used to come here 15 years ago...I went back today and was happen to see the same owner...I had the same Drunken noodle dish with shrimp that I loved 15 year ago and I am overwhelmed with joy to see it's still an amazing dish. All the staff is fast and very nice....if you're in Santa Ana stop by and grab a bite.
George is always very sweet with us qhen we get to see him. Staff is usually kind. Food arrives in a timely manner. Food is excellent. Ambiance is nice and serene. When its busy, it gets a little louder but the dim lights help preserve a peaceful ambiance about the place.
They have really good lunch deals here. I ordered two lunch entrees which comes with a spring roll and salad and the total was less than $20 , and the food was really good as well. I really enjoyed the Tom Yum noodle soup and the fried rice dish. Definitely will be coming back.
I have been eating at Georges since it back when it first opened in the 90's. Just the fact they have been in business that long should tell you something. The food has always been great and the service prompt and attentive! They grade the spiciness of the dishes on a 1 - 10 and their scale is very consistent with most restaurant scales of spiciness, with a 5 being just about right for a bit of a kick to the dish! Don't see exactly what your looking for on the huge menu... just ask they will work with you to suit your needs. Thanks again Georges for a great meal yesterday! I will be back soon, but not soon enough!

We just moved to the area and ordered for pickup. Absolutely delicious food. I couldn't recommend it higher. Next time we will sit and eat in the restaurant. The beef panang was over the top with fresh cut veggies and a spicy sauce. Top notch Thai!

First off the food is excellent. I've had many dishes off the menu and have yet to find something that wasn't good. Many of the reviews are for lack of vegetarian options but I don't see that as an excuse to leave poor reviews. Service is hit or miss and the bathrooms aren't the cleanest but I have yet to have truly bad experience here. I really enjoy their food and its very reasonably priced.
Everything we ordered was delicious. Happy Tiger has a perfectly cooked steak with coconut rice which was to die for. I plan to go back and order just the coconut rice for lunch one day. So good. Crab Pad Thai with mild spiciness was perfect and my dad's Thai Jambalaya was yummy and healthy. The restaurant has a spice funk smell upon entry but other than that it was fine :)
The menu has several options, including vegetarian, and they will make most dishes into vegetarian if requested. My family eats here fairly regularly and we've never had a bad meal. The service is excellent and the restaurant has a nice ambiance, if a little dark, although the tables are well lit. Our favorites are the Pad Thai, Happy Tiger, Wonton Soup, and the Seafood Jambalaya. They have 5 or 6 dessert selections and several appetizers, as well. There is plenty of parking, as it shares with a shopping center near TJ Maxx and is behind the B of A off of Bristol. There are several births and some tables, if your looking for wheelchair accessibility. The prices are average for a sit-down restaurant. I would recommend this place.
We were invited here by friends so this was our first time here. I’m not into spicy food so I went with something safe. My wife and I had the seafood pad thai. The server seemed a little exasperated that we were unfamiliar with the menu. Aside from this, I definitely recommend and will definitely be coming back.
Nice Thai food for a decent price. I wish they had lunch specials for regulars. You get two scoops of rice per order which is cool! If you order a veggie entree you get a salad and spring roll. Only thing I didn't like is the service, ordering was prompt though. The waitresses could be a little less grumpy and smile!

Amazing food, good hospitality and pleasant environment. Reasonable prices, all dishes within a price range of $10

I want so much to give this place a good review but I can't. I've dined at this restaurant a total of three times and each time it has been the same. The service is horrible!! The waitresses seem to hate their jobs and not care for their customers. At each visit there wasn't more than 3 sets of customers, nothing two waitresses shouldn't be able to handle. The food so far has been good, portions are inconsistent and don't expect them to bring out extra rice unless you are willing to pay extra.
Their food is very tasty, 5 star. However, they used to have very unfriendly waitresses in the past. Some are not working there anymore, except for one lady that is the rudest I have seen. She is very rough and barely answers you or even answer you back when you say thank you. Don't know if this is for us only or she is like that with everyone. That's why I have to give them a 3!
It's been about 7 years since I've been back to this establishment. Definitely the same decor. Menu is slightly different but service is still great as before. I had the BBQ chicken dish, which came with a side salad and an veggie egg roll. The chicken dish was flavorful and the portion was big. To my opinion, it's a bit Americanize Thai food, but that's not a bad thing. Wish they had my favorite dishes there. As other reviewers mentioned. This place does need an update or at least take out the carpet.
We came over here for our birthday lunch. After we sat down, got our drinks, and looking at the menu, the waitress waited 25 minutes to take our orders. Then we waited 45 minutes for the food to arrive. We had to eat quickly to get back to the office. The last gal in our group didn't get her food til a hour after we ordered. The food was overall good tasted pretty authenticated. If you like Thai food and you are of a small group give it a try. Otherwise be ready to wait a while like we did. I ordered pineapple fried rice with shrimp which was very good. The prices are reasonable as well.
We go here for only one reason: the food is reasonably priced and delicious! It's best to just order your food to go because the decor is old, the tables and benches are falling apart, and the service is often very lax. We even walked out once because a server hadn't come to our table to even get our drink order 20 minutes after we we're seated. The same server fully took care of another table who were seated after we were, but which was comprised of people who were of a different race than us. Even so, we will continue to come back; the food is that good.

Very understaffed for lunch time. The yellow curry with with mixed vegetables was excellent but unfortunately i found a couple pieces of chinken it! Vegetarians beware!
We have been going to this establishment for many years. However, the service has really deteriorated. Food takes forever to come out from the kitchen We waited almost 55 minutes to get our meals. Then we discovered one of us got the wrong entree. We were so frustrated, we left and took the one correct entree to go. The waitress apparently misunderstood the order. So frustrating to see this testaurant go down hill. There was one cook and 2 servers for the whole place. We will not be coming back any time soon. No apologies from the waitress who had a problem speaking and understanding english. The other waitress kept apologizing that our order was taking so long. Dont come here if you have one hour for lunch, you will only get water after 15 minutes and starter salad in 20 minutes and maybe you will get lucky when you get the right order in 55 minutes.
I ordered spring rolls but I got egg rolls. I ordered tofu and vegetables and it came with chicken. This place has a great atmosphere but the servers cant understand what is being ordered even when you point it out on the menu. The food is good, it's just not what you order.
Came here when the restaurant opened. Usually every good restaurant serves beverages at the beginning sitting even if not all the party has not arrived. Have been waiting for 30 minutes for our party to arrive and no one even asked us for water or even beverages. I guess it's one of those places where there is horrible service but good food. Which makes the experience horrible. I guess this hole in the wall was really a hole in the wall. I hope they learn to better take care of their customers. Not recommended for anyone wanting to wait for service. Maybe they treat white people differently.
