Greg and the family give us a wonderful restaurant that we should all visit in our community. Can't say more than that except, you should all go and go now. On June 3rd of 2025 I have returned for another wonderful meal and this time it was fish cakes. Greg always makes you feel welcomed and provides a good time to go along with the wonderful food they serve there. November 18th 2025 and it's time for their harvest pasties along list the Old speckled hen beer. It just doesn't get any better than this. And it's consistently this good. Now I can just look forward to the next time I get to go back and do this all over again. I appreciate the fact that friends keep on saying let's go there.
Seems like a great neighborhood pub I would definitely go back for food or drink
Went with my BFF after a Candlelight Concert. First off…CUTE AS HELL! Loved the atmosphere. We wanted the entire menu. I had the loaded Shepherds Pie and she had the 1 Piece Fish and Chips. It was seriously some of the best food I’ve ever had. Flavorful, delicious, so much for the price. The service was amazing. Between the dad who helped wait on us, the brother who bartended and took our order and the sisters cooking…..it’s a giant recipe for success! We live in Simi but plan on making it back once a month to treat ourselves to a lovely dinner.
I am so happy we found this place. The meal was stellar from start to finish. We started with the scotch eggs. They're served in a brown gravy. I haven't had brown gravy that good since my dear grandma departed this earth 24 years ago. Fish and chips were stellar. The fish was very crunchy and massive in size. The steak and mushroom pie was delicious. Talk about comfort food. Definitely will be back!!
Amazing food! Was looking for a place that served some good English food and boy was it worth it! Great fish and chips literally and the sticky toffee pudding is probably the best desserts I've had!
Great restaurant. Food was very good. Had the fish and chips and it was delicious. Cooked to perfection. Fish was awesome as well as the batter. Not oily and very crispy. That's how I like it. This is a family owned business and we met the son Greg who served us. Great service and awesome guy. Met his sister who is the cook. This place is much better than other British restaurants around our area in Venice. Plus it's right next to the best Tax place in all the land-- Quality Tax Services.
Great comfort food where children, even infants, are welcome. Love to bring my friends who have young children here. On multiple visits, I've had fish and chips, shepherd's pie, pasties (like a meal in a pastry shell), their sticky toffee pudding with custard or ice cream (that was for desert). Their chicken tenders are the best appetizers you have ever had. Many, many folks love their excellent selection of beers. And Greg, our server, made super recommendations on what beer to order, when we didn't know all those varieties. It's worth a try, if you've never been to an English pub. I keep going back because I love the food (and the child-friendly atmosphere). And the special foods they bring out for some holidays. And the English tea. See you there!
I have lived in this area for many years and went to the Rose & Crown for the first time last night. It was great, what a little treasure I have been missing. I love the fact that it is family owned and operated. Super fun decor also, but it was the food that got me. It was great. I had fish and chips and my husband had shepherds pie. It was so nicely seasoned and super tasty. We had the sticky toffee cake with ice cream for dessert, so so good! They have a lot of fun beers to pick from also. Everyone was watching the soccer game and just enjoying the surroundings. I loved it Would definitely recommend the Rose & Crown!
Great food - the chef is fabulous. We have never had any fish that wasn't wonderful. The table service always exceeds expectations. The wait staff is very knowledgeable about any item on the menu or bid erage. The facility is always exceptionally clean. We go at least once each week and have never been disappointed - highly recommend the restaurant.
Update! We came back 6 years later so excited and they met every expectation! Such amazing food and service. The spooky vibes are in full swing too! I’ve only stopped by in fall but I over heard someone asking about tacos from the previous season and seemed like they must have been good cause she was bummed about them going away for the season, I’m gonna have to come back next summer! I just love this place so much, thank you to the family keeping this place amazing. 🎃____________________________________🎃 This is a must visit! AMAZING! I know the food looks simple but it is soooo worth the visit! We will stop by every time we visit six flags from now on. We had the shepherds pie and the clover pasty, had to share because both were amazing! The peas were fresh and delicious. We were able to order a flight of four beers and they were all so good with so many to choose from. I also got an apple lantern ( a special one for October ) it was perfect, highly recommend. And to finish it all off we ordered the sticky toffee pudding with custard. . . believe me when I tell you I felt like crying, it was so amazing my husband and I were in total bliss. The atmosphere ia chill and relaxed (and decorated for halloween 🎃👻 which I loved). The service is perfect, 100%! You know that awkward moment when you're eating, full mouth and the host or server come ask how everything is going? Did not happen once! And when I did need something l was attended to that moment. We showed up an hour before closing and were trying to finish up our meals around closing time and even though they were closing I was still allowed to order my custard and enjoy it with no rush. ABSOLUTLY AMAZING! Thank you so much
Amazing place to eat and drink beer. The loaded Shepherd's Pie was Amazing and the beer selection is the best in Santa Clarita. Definitely give this place a visit.
Fish tacos (special on Tuesday and Thursday) were excellent. Enjoyed their selection of beers and ciders on tap, and the sticky toffee bread pudding with ice cream was amazing. Rose & Crown is definitely going to become one of our regular spots we hit around town.
Had a great rainy Sunday lunch here and a few pints of Newcastle! Love the ambiance and the host Greg is a doll. Food was fabulous...had the pasties and shepherd's pie (a little too much pepper for me) and must go back to try the fish and chips. I'm British so I know good British food and this is served here. Great photo ops and great '80's music which Brits still love. HP sauce/malt vinegar....doesn't get better than this! Been back since
If you’re after a little taste of home (even if your home’s in the States), this quaint British gem in Santa Clarita is a must-visit. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted by a warm vibe—it seems to be run by a lovely trio of a father, daughter, and son. The son took care of us, and I must say, his service was as spot-on. Now, the food! Each dish was a proper treat, packed with authentic British flavours that made me feel like I’d been transported straight to a pub in the UK. We had a lovely pot of tea to go with our meal—truly the perfect accompaniment. And don’t even get me started on the sticky toffee pudding, it was so delicious! The restaurant itself is a delightful homage to all things UK, with walls dedicated to british music, of course the Beatles and plenty of pretty knick-knacks that’ll make you feel right at home. If you fancy some friendly service, good food, and a dash of British charm, this place is an absolute winner. Highly recommend it!
Very nice cozy atmosphere. Food and drinks were great and very nice and friendly service. It was a nice date night out for two in a cozy English pub.
Doing "overnight" in the area and had an urge for fish & chips. ROSE & CROWN had high marks so I went. THE BEST fish & chips outside of England I've ever had in 73 years. Topped off dinner with a chocolate Guinness mousse (to die for). GREAT service, GREAT food, GREAT environment.
I’m so glad I decided to give this place a try! I loved the atmosphere, and the food was amazing. I got the loaded shepherds pie and my husband got the sausage rolls. Both were so good that I already want to go back and try more items on the menu. The highlight was the sticky toffee pudding. I don’t think I’ve had a better dessert in my life. We will definitely be regulars now that we know there’s a gem like this in town. Such friendly service too!
Great fish and chips and beer selection served by Peter and his family. Genuine hospitality. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will be back again soon.
Don’t let the outside scare you- this is the definition of a gem. My wife and I have passed by this place for years, always wanting to try and never having the nerve to try something new Boy so we regret not going in sooner. Ambiance is amazing Scents and sounds are amazing The people are amazing The food? How could it be amazing too right? Yet somehow it too was freaking amazing. Wife had Shepard’s pie, I had sausage rolls and both meals were delicious, flavourful and felt like a home cooked meal. Sticky toffee pudding is ridiculously good. Like best dessert I’ve ever had good. Like already thinking about when to come back good. Actually…. Stay away, more toffee pudding for me
My neighbors like this place… So we all met up together here tonight and found out that we like it too Fish n chips were great along with a black n tan Thanks for the great service Greg! Will be back for more!
The tacos here are amazing, and the service is pretty good. They have a slim selection for hours of operation, so make sure you can make it in their timeslots! Oh, not to mention the toffee is out of this world!
Only place I know of in SCV for an English vibe and food. Splendid service, mates, and strong selection of English cuisine. Ample beers available. Cheers.
Its an old English pub. Good beer, English comfort food. The fish cakes are amazing!
The Rose and Crown!! I have been coming here for years! It is always great! This time I got the Fish and Chips with a side order of a Scotch Egg and of course, a StrongBow. My niece got the Bangers and Mash and a StrongBow as well. There is never anything derogatory to say about these place. Everything is always spot on! I highly recommend it. Don’t forget to get the Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert!
Love this place! The food is always delicious. I love the service, and that it’s family-owned. It’s such a great place to hang out for a pint.
Rose and Crown British Restaurant is another hidden gem we discovered in Santa Clarita! If you’re a fan of British pub food, this is the place to go. The moment you walk in, you feel like you’ve stepped into a traditional British pub in England — from the cozy decor to the classic pub-style seating. I ordered the Fish and Chips with a glass of Old Speckled Hen beer, and it was spot-on — crispy, flavorful, and authentic. A great spot for anyone craving true British comfort food. We’ll definitely be back!
Had a lovely and pleasant experience at this restaurant! As soon as we saw they had shepherd's pie on the menu, we knew we had to try it out! So glad we did. Both the classic and loaded shepherd's pie were amazing! Good selection of beer and very good pots of tea!
Had been craving some good, crispy Fish & Chips. Instead got GREAT crispy Fish & Chips!!! Washed all down with the Blood Orange beer on tap! The sausage rolls are incredible too!! Finished dinner off with a nice pot of tea. Definitely will be going back for more!!!
I’ve eaten here twice, and both times it was delicious! I recommend the paste, mine was so good. The restaurant itself is clean and decorated with a British theme. The second time that I went the restaurant was decorated for the holidays, it was very festive. I had the stake and mushroom pie, it had a pastry top as you can see in the pictures. The service is just as good as the food. I had a very nice waiter. The mashed potatoes are homemade and yummy (I’m picky about mashed potatoes, these are good). Also - peas! - it reminds me of home.
I can’t say enough good things about this gem in our community. I’ve been coming here for years and have never been disappointed in the food or service. The family that runs this business are the sweetest people. I usually come with my husband, but tonight we visited with our newborn. It’s the attention to detail and treating us like family that will keep us coming back time and time again (oh and the pot of tea with sticky toffee pudding of course!).
Don’t let the exterior fool you, inside is like a traditional English pub! The owner Peter is a great guy from Liverpool and this is a family owned restaurant with his son and daughter working there. A better selection of English beers than even current English pubs! The food was amazing taking us back to good old England! We will definitely be back!
Great English pub Great food Great service from Greg. Great selection of beer and wine Doesn't sell liquor, so no Jameson black barrel. 😢😢😭😭😭. Will come here again. I ordered the sausage rolls. And the steak and mushroom Pie delicious
What a pleasant surprise! We had read good reviews about this family run British eatery and we're happy to add one more. We had the fish and chips (actually substituted the chips for coleslaw which was very good). The batter was extra crispy and overall very good. A little thick for me but my boyfriend thought it was just right. They also use Alaskan cod, not pollock. I mentioned to the waiter, who happens to be the son, that it was my boyfriend's birthday. Next thing I know after the meal he surprised him with a piece of cake and ice cream. After which the owner sat down with us and we ended up talking for nearly an hour. Very friendly and down towards people. We're looking forward to returning and trying the other items on the menu.
Love their fish and chips! The sticky toffee pudding is a must try, either with ice cream or custard. Great, friendly, caring service too!

The Rose and Crown in Santa Clarita is hands down one of the best pubs I’ve ever been to. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warmth and hospitality—the family who runs it truly makes you feel like part of their own. The service is always top-notch, friendly, and attentive, which just adds to the welcoming atmosphere. And the food? Absolutely incredible. Every dish I’ve tried has been delicious, but the loaded shepherd’s pie is on another level—it’s comfort food perfection and something I find myself craving again and again. You can taste the care and quality in every bite. If you’re looking for a place with amazing food, outstanding service, and a family vibe that makes you feel right at home, The Rose and Crown is the spot. A true gem in Santa Clarita!
This place is a truly hidden gem. The food is outstanding and the beer selection is great. The atmosphere takes me right back to my time in England. The service is awesome too.
We really enjoyed this establishment. Our host and waiter was fabulous. We each had a pasty and greatly enjoyed them. I look forward to a future visit so I may try other enticing dishes.
Absolutely the best pub I've been to. Service is fantastic, vibe is amazing, food is the out of this world; authentic and delicious! Greg makes sure food is delivered fast and hot. Great beer selection, too. Love it so much, We've become regulars. This is a true family-owned establishment; since 2003. I cannot go wrong with Rose & Crown

This was a great small bar in the middle of a local shopping centre. The beer selection was good, and the food from the kitchen was looking well. It was a little tight on space, but very cozy and comfortable. May be a great new choice that could become your local favorite? The service is great and it was truly authentic to every detail.
I went here because I heard the fish tacos where in point. The tacos are Tuesday and Thursday so I missed that. I had the fish and chips. That meal was great but frozen peas aren't my thing. The fish isn't greasy and was cooked very well. I paired it with Old Hen(? some type of Hen) . That was good but I like a darker beer. My friend doesn't like beer had a cider beer that was okay. Friend also had a sausage roll that was on point. Great service and I want to try the tacos.
My first time there and I really enjoyed it. Cozy place. Great, friendly service. Great fish & chips, great chicken pasty, delicious sticky toffee pudding dessert. Truly a nice discovery near Canyon Country/Santa Clarita.
Had a cracking time at Rose & Crown this weekend. Perfect little local pub with a cozy atmosphere. Snagged a seat at the bar, which got a bit busy at times since there's no dedicated bartender, but the staff did a great job keeping everyone served. More importantly, the drinks were spot on! Enjoyed smooth pours of Guinness, a refreshing ale, and a perfectly balanced Black Velvet (kudos to whoever mixed that!). Topped it all off with some delicious fish and chips – a classic done right. Our local friendly pub with a good selection of beers and tasty pub fare!
I've been wanting to try Rose & Crown since I moved to Newhall a year ago and once I learned they have London Pride on tap. (An English bitter I had quite a lot on a trip to England a number of years ago so it has some muscle memory on my tongue.) I finally got to go! The London Pride was just as I remembered it (though pesky US health codes require it to be a bit colder than it's served in the UK.) The atmosphere inside is nice and "British" with the bar being the main gathering spot with a decent amount of seating in the dining areas. One of the reasons it took me so long to come here is they close early for a pub. It's really more of a restaurant in this respect so don't plan on coming here as part of a late night pub-crawl. If you can get over that, show up for dinner or an early drink and your golden. I came for dinner, so in addition to the London Pride (and there are plenty of other beers on tap to choose from) I got the one vegetarian item on the menu which was the Cheese and Onion Pasty. I got it as a meal meaning it was served with peas (not mushy) and a side of my choice (fries chosen over mashed potatoes and salad.) It was good, indulgent, lots of cheese in a pastry crust...this and the peas and fries satisfied me. I do wish they had other vegetarian options. Maybe a vegetarian version of a shepherd's pie made with Impossible or Beyond Meat, or anything really...much of my experience dining in England was informed by how vegetarian friendly they are. Lots of choices at pubs and restaurants, usually helpful labeled so they were easy to spot in menus. Newhall, or the Santa Clarita Valley as a whole may not be a mecca for vegetarians, but I live around the corner so, well, I'm here. I also couldn't really get away with taking my gluten-free wife here as there was nothing on the menu for her. All that having been said, I really enjoyed the experience of being there and would happily go back for another pint of bitter.

This is a delightful space with reasonably priced food. Both our meals were good and I enjoyed my tea. The server was very pleasant when we arrived but it took an hour to get our order out! We ordered Fish and chips and Sheppard pie. The fish was flavorful and a nice portion. The Sheppard pie was generous but black pepper was a bit too generous. The place was not super busy when we arrived but soon there were people waiting and the server got a bit cranky. I will definitely try them again before giving up on the place as it was a nice cozy spot.

The food was mediocre and took a long time to arrive. The only things that was tasty was the tartar sauce which had a nice dill flavor. Our server was very pleasant, the crowds seemed to be locals. It's not really a pub, Rather a restaurant with English decor.
