I drive by this place often and finally had the chance to stop in. So glad that I did! I just ate myself into a food coma and am bringing home enough leftovers to overeat again for dinner! I had a cup of soup called Pazole, and a chimichanga. The soup was experimental for me as I had never had it before. I would order that soup in the mega bowl as a complete meal, excellent. The flavors are perfection. Salsa and chips are refilled even after your meal comes. Service was quick and very friendly despite being a decent sized lunch crowd in the place.

WO WO WOW!!!! CAME HERE WITH FAMILY FOR LUNCH. THE VENUE WAS TASTEFULLY DECORATED, STAFF WERE NICE, OUR SERVER “JUNIOR” WAS SUPER NICE AND ACCOMMODATING AND RESPONSIVE. FOOD WAS AUTHENTIC (AS FAR AS I CAN TELL), TASTED SO DELICIOUS AND PORTIONS WERE LARGE! EVERYTHING SERVED AS DESCRIBED, ORDERED A LOT OF FOOD, SO IT TOOK AROUND 15 MINS TO BE ON OUR TABLE AND THE WAITER BROUGHT US 3 COURSE OF SALSA AND CHIPS. THE BILL CAME $48 AND WE WERE SO SHOCKED FOR THE PERFECTION WE WERE SERVED!! TOTALLY RECOMMENDED. SORRY FOR NOT PROVIDING PHOTOS, THE FOOD WAS SO DELICIOUS COULDN’T TAKE BREAKE FOR PHOTOS. UPDATE: PHOTOS ARE FROM MY SECOND VISIT IN JULY 2019.

The food here is amazing. I haven’t had chili verde this good in a long time. The dining room is beautiful and perfectly decorated. I live 20 miles away but I’ll be making the drive as often as I can. Truly a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ experience.

We were recommended to go to this restaurant by the workers at Sunburst Rail Bikes(also a "must try" if you haven't already)... it DID NOT disappoint!😋 we met another patron there who stated she's been coming to this restaurant for over 40 years! She named off multiple dishes and drinks, which we ordered...I must say, she was NOT wrong! We ordered the Molcajete and margaritas, DELICIOUS! The enchiladas suizas was also super tasty and filling! We ordered a couple bowls of the posole, tasted homemade! So if you're in the Santa Paula area, support your local small business, enjoy the delectables at Chapala!

EXCALIBUR 24 Booth

The food was very well prepared and tasty. I had the chili Colorado and it was very nice. Waiters do not check your drinks for refills but otherwise acceptable. Nice place inside and there's no outdoor seating but pretty good sized parking lot.

Very good food, the Chapala fajitas were excellent, well cooked chicken and steak, and the shrimp were tasty - both of them. The house margarita and the chill atmosphere were perfect. But the server was rushed and made me nervous just watching him and we didn't dare ask a question and slow down our order. One server is not enough for 20+ tables. Unfortunately no outside seating but inside is fairly spacious and elegant.

Very nice restaurant, good fast service. I ordered the Chicken Molé, the sauce was very flavorful. The beans had a nice homemade taste.

Im from Chapala Jalisco and wanted to try this place out, drove from San Fernando Valley. The food was so delicious, our desert was very good as-well also well put together tasty. But the only sad part was the waiter, didnt get one of my orders right going back n fourth about how the order was taken rude could even ask for anything like napkins he kept passing with a face that was annoyed, also didnt know how to prepare a special winner y drink also went back n fourth about the drinks. Rude service only bye that one waiter, and waitress that sat us at our table sweet and always checking on us. Asked for owner to make complaint, over all the food was very very good double thumbs up for the cook 👌👌🇲🇽

Service was slow, no utensils, 20 minutes to get a glass of water, 2 out of three orders were served. Couldn’t flag down waiter so one of went to the kitchen to ask regarding the missing order! Remember the days when this was a popular place, but now I understand why there were so few people there during the lunch hour. So sad.

The seafood soup “7 mares” didn’t have the crab legs like the picture in the menu, we ordered mango margaritas blended, got them on ice, was no flavor return one, I kept mine don’t like to complain, wife order a second one a plain lemon with Tajín, came in with no Tajín & no flavor, return it again order water instead , got the check with the two margarita we return, waitress said we taste it, thats why we got charged for them, it’s the second time we go there, sorry folk definitely not going back anymore period

Had eaten here several times in the week and we were the only people. This time we went on Saturday and were seated but no one brought anything or asked what we wanted to drink for 20 minutes. We ended up walking out. Drove an hour to eat here and was grossly disappointed. Some communication would have been nice, chips, a drink, something but even when were leaving, no one bothered to stop us to apologize or anything.
