The finest Mexican place for vegetarians!! Their rice is not made with chicken broth so it’s vegetarian. We tried wet and normal burrito and both were delicious. Service was quick, food was delicious. You get first serving of chips for free, salsa verde was delicious. A must stop for vegetarians!!

Tried this place recently and was happy to see lots of vegetarian options. I went with the vegetarian burrito and really enjoyed it. It had a flavorful filling, crispy tortilla, and a mango salsa inside that added some tang. The chips on the side were fresh, and the green salsa had a distinct sting to it. Staff was friendly, food came out fast, and the space was clean. Plenty of indoor booth seating but had minimal outdoor seating. Much more functional than atmospheric as it had minimal decor. Solid food and quick service, I'd definitely come back and would recommend it to others looking for a casual bite.

First time trying La Cueva and I’m glad we noticed them on Google Maps! We try new places almost everyday. Because this restaurant is in a small plaza and hard to see from the road we would have never stopped here by just driving around. We noticed the great ratings on Google and wanted to eat Mexican food today. The service was great, friendly, and fast. The food was different and delicious! The green salsa was amazing! Will definitely come back again!

Simply perfect place for a casual meal. The staff is very friendly. The veggies are visibly fresh, and the food tastes great. The price is very reasonable for this area. They have beer too and bring chips and salsa out to your table.

Best Mexican food I had so far in the Bay Area! It’s a small place, we had vegetarian burrito, shrimp and fish taco out of the three vegetarian (it was full of flavor veggies avocado pineapple beans rice and salsas) was the best and then shrimp taco but the winner is the green sauce/salsa (it’s cilantro limey with some spices 😋) they also sell the green salsa!

I’m in love with this place. Has to be my favorite Mexican food place. Their green sauce is iconic and I always need extra. Their grilled chicken burrito is my favorite. All their items are plated so beautifully. It’s an amazing experience.

Fine, small hole-in-the-wall mexican restaurant, with very tasty food, and friendly staff. I typically get carne asada regular burritos, but recently had the chili colorado plate which was very flavorful. Wide-ranging menu, w standard prices for the time and place.

Affordable and delicious Mexican cuisine in a casual, hole-in-the-wall setting. Killer carnitas (so crispy) and tostadas! Competent tamales! Tacos are decent too. The green salsa is herby and fresh, not spicy at all! Dessert is pretty good but tres-lechés is always a sugary heart attack. One of the best in San Jose!

Small Mexican restaurant that serves delicious Mexican dishes. This is one of family spots for quick authentic Mexican food. We always order takeout because the restaurant is small and is packed. During busy times, they get tons of orders and sometimes don’t pick up. Recommend: Enchiladas Seafood Chile Relleno Shrimp Quesadillas Tacos Horchatas / Agua Frescas

Their seafood enchiladas are AMAZING. Their chicken enchiladas are DELICIOUS!!! Fish tacos- not bad but not my favorite. Beef nachos- not bad but not my favorite. Go for the enchiladas, you will not regret it!!! 🤤

I will visit again to try other dishes. The staff is friendly and it was a casual, comfortable place to take the kids. Tacos are on a crispier corn tortilla and the tostada salad doesn't come in a fried tortilla bowl, which are fine but not what we normally see so it was more of a surprise. However, you do get a free bowl of chips and spicy green salsa!

Try the shrimp tacos! Just do it and you will thank me later. It's a little spicy but not crazy spicy. The burritos are amazing and so are the tacos. Al pastor is always a classic and this place makes a great one! The tongue taco was good too if you feel a little more adventurous! Only negative point: the salsa. I wasn't a fan unfortunately.

My favorite dish here was veggie Gordita which a sandwich with pan fried bread and tasty taco fill. I came here after back after a couple of years. Unfortunately the quality has gone down due to less generous fillings and price has gone up significantly. One symbolic point here is I was given a few nacho chips for starters. I understand the need to increase prices but please don’t compromise quality and portion.
