It’s such a sweet atmosphere! All of their bobas and teas I’ve tried are amazing and I highly recommend the ice cream waffles and taiyaki too! Very chill place, good for hanging out with friends or doing homework. Also good for kpop fans that don’t want to travel into San Jose or SF for a cute cafe experience.
Delicious desserts! Drinks are fresh and sweet - but not too sweet. The secret is in the tea, I think. It's brewed just right and doesn't taste like the bagged stuff you can get from the supermarket. As for the tapioca boba, it's just the right level of chewy and savory. And the egg waffles are crispy on the outside, while still fluffy on the inside. I love stopping by whenever I have a craving for something sweet or refreshing. My favorites: oolong black tea with boba when I want something cooling but not too sweet OR passion fruit green tea when I want something sweet and tart (they don't use syrup, they use passion fruit preserves so it tastes actual like passion fruit).
The drinks were divine! So good ❤ The taiyaki was hot and delicious. Great food! Small place but worth the quick stop if you're looking to treat yourself. They also had a cute backdrop for a photo or two.
Go here and get the Taiyaki! It's the best treat food in town...maybe in the county. After one bite, I was like the critic in Ratatouille, having a flashback to the street food I had in Osaka. Except this might be even better. It's obviously made with thought and care and I don't think anything about it could be improved, whether you get the red bean or the vanilla custard. I haven't even been to this shop or had any other items, but the taiyaki picked up by friends were so good that I had to give this place 5 stars anyway. You gotta try it.
Excellent milk tea from helpful staff. I ordered the oolong and found lots of tea flavor and sweet, soft pearls. The drinks run pretty sweet, so if you're a tea enthusiast, I'd go for half or quarter sweet. The prices can add up quickly, especially since non-dairy milks are 75¢ extra; my drink was $8.50.
I love this place and always get their rose garden fruity tea with boba and LOVE it they did get my order wrong one time and gave me the rose gold milk tea instead. I do t really like milk tea too much but it was ok. I still have to give them 5 stars just bc of how good it always is! They also have all kind of other things like ice cream, waffle deserts, and floats! The other location closed down and I was devastated but then learns that they had this place and I was so happy! I don’t think I’ll ever stop coming here!
This is a great little spot if you want to try something exotic and sweet. I feel very lucky that people from other cultures are able to share their delicious sweets with us. I've gotten the egg custard waffle twice now and it's such a crispy, light and buttery little circle of wonderful. I'm actually not a person who eats many sweets but I like Soul Sweets bc the food tastes well made, not greasy and it's made to order Infront of the customer. Maybe they could have more chairs or more waffle press' (There is a wait but it's worth it) but all around a nice little spot.
Delicious Japanese teas and treats! Went today with my family and had the Berry Lovers ice cream waffle. It was soo good! The waffle was really good, it had crispy edges, lightly sweet and was soft in all the right places. Highly recommend this place! This has definetly become one of my favorite places to eat!
Best Boba place I've had. Love those waffle fish filling things. Can't remember what they're called. Tayaki I think. I love the arcade stand. I never seem to have quarters for it. I'd play a game every time I was there.
Amazing soft serve ice cream! I got the cookies and cream and my partner got the honey comb one. Would definitely go back! It reminded me of Milky Cow in the bay area. I can't wait to try their other combinations.
We've been regulars here for quite a bit now. We had an experience where we were confused with something on the menu and the owner (who I'm sure deals with this problem all the time) dealt with it in a less than ideal way. The owner dealt with it in an amazing way however. He talked with me about it and cleared the whole thing up. It takes a lot to do that and we are very satisfied with the quality of the customer service and the exceptional quality soul sweets puts out. If you're in scotts Valley and you want a delicious drink and maybe something sweet, come here!
Boba is soooo SO good! There are many flavors to choose from and the boba itself is the perfect consistency. Inside is really cute, they have a selfie wall and games in the table area. Definitely go support this small biz 🧋👍
This is a place that specializes in boba! I go here or get it Door Dashed whenever I can. They have a pretty large selection and readily offer milk substitutes. They carry milk teas, smoothies, lattes, teas, taiyaki (depending if the machine is warmed up or not, an order of this may take up to 10 minutes to make), slushies, waffles, and a selection of Marrianne's ice cream. They also have a few Korean style snacks. My favorites include taro milk tea with boba (boba is 50 cents extra), Earl Grey milk tea and rose garden milk tea. They also offer several toppings like flavored popping boba, mochi, clear boba, and a couple others. Customer service has always been excellent and quick.
I'm so lucky to have this boba shop near me! Staff is really friendly, boba drinks are top notch, and vibes immaculate! Def stop by and get ya self some boba💖
After running into quality issues with the other boba tea spots in Santa Cruz, it was refreshing to find this shop that has a wide selection of consistently-prepared drinks. I like to order the Assam Black and Jasmine milk teas, and my partner likes to jump around the menu and order just about everything. We arrived one night right as they were closing up, and we met the owner. She recognized us as regulars and thanked us personally for coming in so often! It makes me want to continue supporting this local business.
This out of the way Boba Bar has great selection, friendly atmosphere, and pretty good flavours. I hope that they are able to succeed despite being nearly invisible from the street, as it is one of the better Boba locations in the community, and serves snacks to boot! (More places should have an arcade machine like this~)
Soul Sweet - The Dessert House in Scotts Valley is a cheerful lively pop music sweet stop for ice cream, boba teas, and they even have Taiyaki (it’s like a pancake pressed in the shape of a fish 🐠 & filling with custard , sweet bean or chocolate). I had the Thai Iced Tea with boba (tapioca balls). This is a nice place for kids or a freshmen after a movie at the yr Cinelux theaters near by! This location is hidden, just go towards the back & it’s on the side of Ace Hardware & besides Eric’s Deli. (This used to be Rita’s but they closed)
Yay a good boba place in Scotts Valley! Definitely will be a regular! I love milk tea but sometime they can get too sweet. I love that at this place you can adjust your sweetness level to match your preference. I tried the sea salt cream for the first time and the flavor surprised me at first, but it really grows on you as you get the perfect mixture of salty and sweet. Their snacks are also delicious! I can't wait to try all the flavors, and I will for sure be back to try the rest
I ordered a dragon fruit tea with lychee and an oolong tea with milk tea and both were good, specially the dragon fruit one. Besides boba drinks they also have soft serve, smoothies, ice cream sandwiches, and 3 different kinds of egg waffles. Delicious! Definitely recommended
Ah this was a lovely quick visit! I’m terribly indecisive but the kind lady at the register made no fuss out of my questions (no one behind me 😅). I ended up going with the jasmine mint mojito and it was legit so refreshing after my bike ride through the mountains from SJ! So many options like soft serve and taiyaki. A+ and can only hope to find more places like them on my trips! 🙏
Interesting combination between soft serve scoop Marianne's ice cream as well as boba milk tea drinks... Very tasty! First time will take more photos next time
This is by far a must go-to boba shop when you’re in the Santa Cruz Mountains… because though they may not be as good as you ought them to be, this one hits the spot with the different teas they brew and the different adjustments they put in terms of sugar and ice. I usually get the passion fruit green tea with boba and less ice and sweetness and it never fails to meet my expectations! 8.3/10 because it could have done better in terms of using more natural ingredients but 5 stars on here because they’re doing a phenomenal job at what resources they have around them already xD
Definitely my go-to place for boba. They have the best custard Taiyaki and I always order it with jasmine green tea milk boba. Best combo right there✋😌
I have passed by this place so many times and finally decided to stop and get a boba. It was beginning of April and a hot day and around 1pm. Store was pretty busy and we had to wait few minutes. They were a bit short handed but man they were doing an amazing job. They need a big raise. Anyways I ordered a dragon fruit tea with lychee ans my gf ordered an oolong tea with milk tea ans both were good, specially the dragon fruit one. Besides boba drinks they also have soft serve, smoothies, ice cream sandwiches, and 3 different kinds of egg waffles. Delicious! Definitely recommended
I am very happy this place is doing well. With no other real ice cream place in Scotts Valley, being able to get a nice treat here is awesome. Both the soft serve and Marianne's scoops are available here with the delicious tea creations as well. Service is friendly and quick, and everything I have tried so far has been great.

Love this place! Such a nice clean place for a sweet treat, and so many varieties to pick from! Also very nice employees😊
I think this is the best quality boba in santa cruz area, it is so delicious. Sometimes you will wait a little longer but it is worth it. The only thing is, if you order the taiyaki its usually a long wait because they dont keep the waffle irons hot. However when I have taken the time to wait for them they are really tasty.
Deliciously Cute place!! I loved the Atmosphere and the very friendly staff. I love their heart design on their boba tea cups! As well as all the candy, cups, and things for sale.

Probably the best place for boba tea in the area. Only downside is that your ability to customize your drink depends on who is working. I usually get two flavors, but I can only get one if the guy is working. The ladies have no problem handling the requests. Still enjoy it, but I had to knock off a star for that issue.
My kids love the rose gold milk tea with boba. The Taiyaki with chocolate is good. They make it fresh when you order, but I recommend ordering it ahead online if you want to cut the wait time down. Speaking of ordering ahead. You can order online, but they do not take orders over the phone. They serve locally made ice cream from Marianne's Ice Cream. This is going to sound weird. I would say my biggest complaint is a general feeling of unease while there. It's similar to getting that gut feeling that someone is talking about you behind your back. Weird, I know. It is just the energy. Second complaint. The door is super heavy. Good luck to anyone in a wheelchair, disabled or just not that strong.
Soul Sweets is a cute Boba shop in Scott’s Valley. They have a variety of flavors and I’ve always got fresh warm boba when I order my drinks. This is their Taro Float, but I think my favorite is their Classic Milk tea topped with cheese foam. Also try their Tayiaki while you are there if you want a sweet treat.
Boba tastes quite good, but man, it is *expensive* (and they won't even fill it up all the way if you ask for no ice)! There's a boba "monopoly" held by this location up here, and the prices clearly reflect that (though that seems set to change with a nearby shop opening up soon). Still, I'd definitely recommend giving it a chance if you're in the area and looking for some good milk tea. Hats out to their Rose Milk Tea flavour!

I'm mixed on this place. I've been there four times, and I suppose actually only one of those times was great. I will say, though, that the boba is always great. The first time, I got the rose gold milk tea, which was decent but a bit watery. Second time, I got lychee oolong tea, which was fantastic. I got it again the third time, but I ended up waiting almost 45 minutes because the girl at the counter forgot to make my order. The fourth time, I got the tiger milk tea, which was unbearably sweet. I couldn't finish it.
This review is sad for me to write. I was happy to find a good boba place near home even though it’s more expensive than over the hill, boba always cheer me up, until they moved to the new location… Since then the boba has been inconsistent. Sometimes the sea salt cream was way too salty, or they forget to leave out the sugar, or forget to put in the boba and then have to pour out half the sea salt cream to make room for the boba. Today, the k coffee was burnt. I’m not even going to finish the drink. It was better when the owner was behind the counter making drinks. I don’t think I will go back again.
Innovative offerings, very tasty, a bit too expensive. A fun hang out place. However they were playing music videos today that were inappropriate for young kids. I was there with my 10 year old boy and I was hoping he did not notice the screen. Chocolate filled waffle fish were delicious.
I’ve tried many boba shops, but this was my worst experience. My Taro Blend tasted like vanilla instead of taro, and despite asking for “less sweet,” it was cloyingly sugary—much sweeter than my friend’s “normal sweet” drink. In short, skip this place if you want true taro flavor and reliable sweetness control.
Me and my friend went to get some boba and taiyaki the other day and the 7/9 taiyaki we ordered together had uncooked dough batter inside of it making it taste weird. I brought it to their attention and they didnt offer a refund or maybe even a discount for next time since they literally didnt fully cook the food I paid for. They offered to remake it but whats the point of remaking it if youre going to make it the excact same way you did the first time? I asked them instead to warm it up for a few minutes and then they warmed it up to long which ultimately led to me having a burnt taiyaki. They also didnt refund my taiyaki that had batter in it just cooked the two i asked them too. Overall it was just a bad experience and I dont think I will be coming back here, which sucks since last year when i went the customer service was good and the taiyaki didnt have uncooked batter inside of it…

Specifically came here as they advertise all these exotic and cool flavors of soft serve… that is a lie. for example, if you order the chocolate chip soft serve, it’s vanilla, with a bunch of chocolate chips just thrown on the top of it- The only actual flavors of soft serve they have are vanilla and pineapple. they don’t even have chocolate . Super lame.
Love love their boba but Recently tried the milk chocolate dubai and was super disappointed it was so thick in chocolate than the actual filling I was expecting a little more. And the chocolate smelled very dark even though again it was milk. Wasted money and did not enjoy Didn’t even finish it not sure if I should even ask for a refund.
I don’t understand this place. We ordered a soft and were one of two people in the entire store who ordered. We sat there for a good ten minutes while they made other orders, probably door dash. It makes no sense to make someone wait for soft serve, when it takes minutes to put it into a cup. They are also weirdly strict about how you are allowed to order the ice cream. Sad, because it has a lot of potential, but I have no idea what I’m waiting for. Update: after tasting the soft-serve, I don’t think this place should stay in business. It was absolutely terrible. Icy and bland. Tasted like fake dairy. Way overpriced and like they used Hershey syrup in place of real fudge. Sad. I’m not at all sure why people go here.

The staff did not have any nutritional info on any item. I was going to get the Dole Soft Serve and they couldn’t answer if it was a low fat or fat free item. They also couldn’t answer allergy questions.
What an uncomfortable experience. First, I saw them put ice cream in a cone, then dump it out, and put the the cone back with the unused cones. Next, I called before arriving to ensure they were open. It says on google they close at 8:30 on Sunday but, the gentleman that answered the phone kindly let me know they close at 8:00. I arrived at 7:50, ordered my usual (I’m there during the week at-least 2-3 days) my friend wanted the egg waffle cone with ice cream. Originally, the girl checking us out didn’t know what that was. Another young lady with long dark hair and orange/blonde streaks rudely interrupted and said we’re closing and can’t make that for you. I mentioned we called before to make sure they were still open. She ignored and walked away. Their boba is excellent but the customer service is lacking. I won’t be returning.
Place was messy and disorganized. It looked like a childcare was set up in the closed dining area. Went for light desserts. No one else was there but the two employees who didn't say anything to us. We spent about five minutes looking at the menu while the employees cleaned. One walked past us and no one acknowledged we were there trying to figure out what to get. We left and still no one said anything. (FYI; they didn't close for another 1.5 hours)
Wonderful variety of teas, as well as desserts. The girls working there are super friendly and great at recommending drinks, although the store can get a bit uncomfortable when busy… that being said when busy, the staff seems a bit overworked.
