This place has the best tacos! Consistently great every time. Not overly greasy and always full of flavor. I almost dont want to spread the word so it stays a hidden gem.. But i want them to get more business. If they grow.. So does access to their tacos lol If you only have time for one taco in the morning before work.. They had tacos. I ordered a Carne guisada with cheese and a sweet tea. There was a lot of people there, they were real busy. I forgot to tip, I felt like a real jerk wad. Next time I go back I'm totally going to remember to tip!

Their new building is nice. I had al pastor plate. My wife has mini tacos half beef and half al pastor. Great price for great food. Will come again.

Ordered an extra extra crispy taco and a miga a la mexicana with cheese taco both on homemade corn. They both were on point. They have red salsa and salsa Verde. I am very satisfied with this whole in the wall taco house. Best service also.

Early Early morning tacos like at 4am is kinda hard to find. This place was my answer to my taco prayers. The barbecue was good the Carne guisada was good too. The fresh hot coffee was the perfect touch

The best ALL AROUND taco joint in town. Their barbacoa is always delicious and the menudo on the weekends is tied for best in town with Hernandez. Their breakfast plates are always delicious and made fresh, and if you order to go Mirta is the one of the nicest women I know. Great choice here, you cannot go wrong with whatever you order.

This place had the best tacos in seguin. If you are in seguin pay this place a visit. Both English and Spanish customers are welcome which fits me nicely as I dunno any Spanish at all. All we ever get are tacos but we are never disappointed by the food. The service is moderate and the wait can be a hassle but all is forgotten by the first bite you take

I have been in Seguin now going on three years and I have tried almost every single taco restaurant in Seguin and Alex's is by far my favorite one I ordered the carne asada with beans and my fiance got the carne guisada is what we always get they are truly full of flavor and not stingy with there meat . Great place. You can always find the greatest food in the places you least expect it. Hole in the Wall restaurants are always the best. The tacos were cooked to perfection. The verde sauce had the perfect flavor. Definitely the best taco place around.

Anytime I'm in seguin during breakfast or lunch I have to make a quick stop to pick up some Alex Tacos a friend of mine put me on this place we are from San Antonio so 30 min drive but they have this taco called Taco Loco (Crazy taco) if you like papa ranchera it has that and breakfast sausage scrambled in my favorite taco !

We live up the street from Alex’s and we walk here to eat at least once or twice a week, sometimes more. Their Tortas are HUGE and soooooooo delicious! And their tortillas are *chefs kiss,* so definitely give them a shot if you’re considering it! Everything is very clean and they’re often busy, but they manage to keep up with the rush well enough. 5/5 stars

Easy way to order online! Our favorite is breakfast that being in the mornings or weekends. All homemade menudo and the huevos rancheros are our most favorite. For the menudo I usually order extra bread and extra salsa for the huevos rancheros. Super convenient parking and seating right under a good shade tree. I wonder if they do catering?

Beautiful new Mexican Restaurant but housing a restaurant that's been around for years. Reasonably priced! They always have lengua (my personal favorite) and good avocados! Enchiladas plates avg $6.99 $7.99 which are great prices. Staff is always great and owner pretty much always there asking customers if all ok. Plenty of parking and I always find it open.

Good quality, high value Mexican fare. The new building is nicely appointed and spacious. The only drawback to the atmosphere are the acoustics with many conversations going on.

So I have been told by numerous individuals that I should try Alex’s. So I finally did a few weeks ago and have since gone a couple of times. Today we finally ate in the restaurant. The food is amazing and so is the staff. Not only do you get amazing friendly service but the food has been excellent each time. I can’t wait to continue trying more dishes and supporting a local restaurant!

Amazing tacos - there is not a taco Here that I haven’t loved. The Barney is my favorite - beans, bacon, cheese, potatoes on a thick flour tortilla. Pure comfort food! Service is fast and everyone is super friendly. Always look forward to eating here and I always take tacos to go for later.

We've always loved to eat here, so we were excited to check out the new location. As always the food was excellent, along with the friendly staff. The new restaurant is very nice. I couldn't stop admiring the tables and chairs. So comfortable and well built. The only part of the entire experience that I wasn't crazy about was the noise level. High ceilings and solid floor combined with a dining room packed to capacity equals loud. I had to sit on the same side of the table as my husband instead of across like we usually do because we wouldn't be able to hear each other. But I guess it's to be expected when there's a room full of happy tummies.

came here on a trip with friends, this place is delicious! i got two bean and cheese tacos ( my favorite ) and my boyfriend got the polish taco and chorizo and egg. we loved them! and amazing prices. everyone was so kind, at first we went to the wrong building and an employee kindly showed us where to go! salsa verde was awesome too! we will definitely be back!

I've been wanting to try "The Burnt Bean Co." BBQ joint for a while now, so I decided to drive out to Seguin this morning. The line at Burnt Bean stretched damn near around the entire building (longest bbq line I've ever seen). I still had other business to attend to in Lockhart so, that didnt happen (will have to arrive much earlier next time for that experience). Anyway, I still wanted something to eat and had drove past this place on my way to BB, so I figured why not see what it's about(?). I ordered (2) Carne Guisada's with cheese and (1) of there signature "Barnie" tacos. The place was packed when I pulled in and it was for good reason. The tacos were absolutely delicious (believe the hype, this place is the real deal. They know how to make quality grade A tacos). I didn't taste not (1) piece of fat in my Carne Guisada's and the gravy was very flavorful. The Barnie taco may not have looked like much aesthetically, but actually tasted quite good. In fact, it reminded me of a taco that a place in Bastrop Co. makes (a VERY GOOD taco I might add). The only thing missing from it was the BBQ sauce and it would have been an exact replica. Lastly, perhaps what sets any great taco apart from the rest? The tortillas. Warm, soft, fluffy (with a slight powder on 'em). Definitely homemade. Clean/presentable establishment, friendly on-point customer service and delicious tacos (BIG portions too! They don't skimp out!). This place is awesome. Definitely check them out if you find yourself in Seguin.

I heard Alex Taco's was a very good restaurant, so I decided to try their one of their "small" plate breakfasts. The huevos a la Mexicana was delicious! The server was very friendly and brought my drink and food promptly. The place is clean and well kept. The prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous! The smaller plate options are perfect for me, as I usually can't finish a meal without taking leftovers! Try Alex's Tacos! They are wonderful! Good job gang!

Alex's has the best tacos in Central Texas! They are an institution! Their service is fantastic. They started operated out of a two-story house with the signs painted on the siding and moved this year to their new location across the street they built, and it's fantastic! I've never waited more than 3 minutes for my breakfast tacos, and they are consistent, delicious, inexpensive and a staple of my diet. They have tamales around the holidays that are the best I've ever had and menudo to die for! I worked in food service management for a decade and a half, and I'm constantly seeking out good small business restaurants, and Alex's is the best hands down!

Both plates came with rice and refried beans. The Barbacoa had really good flavor. The rice was good. The beans were creamy (not runny). Probably the best refried beans ive ever had. I had half of my wife's tostada and it was very good (I'm not a fan of them either) Ruthie says the taco was really good And she liked the rice and beans also

I only gave four stars due to I have only visited this place once. But this place is really good. I visited the to go window and the service was good. Their selection of tacos were even better! They even had a bean and rice taco! We sure don't see that here in Austin! The food was delicious. Their tortillas are homemade and the food had the right amount of seasoning. First time here. Small dining area but cozy. Service was quick & our waitress was very patient. I appreciated that. We were a large group. The food was good. My coffee had to be returned - tasted burnt but when brought to their attention, I was immediately served a fresh cup of coffee - thank you! The prices are reasonably less than most restaurants in nearby area, given the state of our economy. And a large family like ours are truly appreciative for that. We will be back. 🙂

Doesn't feel warm and inviting when your not greeted and have to seat yourself. Server came quickly to take order. Food came hot and fast! Eggs were good & not runny and the plate was not salty. Kudos to the kitchen!! My ketchup never came. Server never came back to check on us. Time to pay, several servers around to cash us out, however, no one did. We stood there awhile. Again, not a welcoming/caring feeling or even ask "how was everything?" Nope. The hours need to be updated on menu. I had no idea you were open til 9p My suggestion would be, interact with us, say Hello!! Or Good Morning! We will be right with you, if you see me at the counter! Thank your customer for coming and supporting you.

I have been going there for years. Their tacos are delicious and substantial. They grind up the Polish sausage so it blends with the bean and egg and potato which is the type of taco that I like.Plus their tortillas taste like Mom used to make. Parking is good for 16 cars but there are only six tables with four chairs apiece. Which is enough most of the time. The waitress is friendly and knowledgeable. I recommend it highly.

Their prices are wrong online for the daily specials. We went to pay and it was higher than advertised. They didn’t do anything and no manager on site to talk to, so we ended up paying for what they rang it up for. Disappointing

Yep. Plates may not be listed on the menu, you can get any kind of plate you need. To- go window outside, you also can order to- go or dine inside with plenty of seating.

It’s not like the small place, they barely go ask if u need a refill on tea or coffee, they don’t serve chips and queso, the new place is good but some of the service just isn’t the same.

Not all Waitresses speak English. Order came wrong. Had to walk up front counter constantly to get anything. Including bill, which was incorrect. Extra charges. Took forever to correct!

Decent service, they were pretty busy, but we did notice that we were the only table not offered chips and hot sauce. We weren't super hungry, so we ordered the Ritchie tacos and the Arnie tacos. Good flavor, but they used undercooked soggy French fries instead of potatoes on the tacos. It's OK if you're in a hurry and want something fast. The parking lot is a hot mess and hard to get in and out of when the driveway is backed up. Just another Mexican restaurant among the 500 in seguin.

I gave three stars my husband loves this place i just find it okay honestly and that's for breakfast. As far as lunch goes haven't found anything I like. However if you go for breakfast i will say their breakfast potatoes ask for them cooked a lil crispy and they are very good. I would say though for seguin it's good which if you live in seguin and eat at restaurants here then you know why I say that.The service is pretty good though the ladies are all friendly.

Clean establishment, service is very slow and the food is bland. All of our plates were lacking in flavor. The picadillo on the chalupas was not flavored. The carnitas had no char from the flat top and zero salt. Just tasted like it was out of a crock pot. The huevos rancheros had zero flavor and also no seasoning. We tried but won’t be back.

Went to this place because of it’s online reviews and rating. The place looks great! We ordered breakfast plate, migas with queso cheese on top with a side of bacon. We also order chips and hot sauce. Our order came out with melted cheddar on top and the bacon was very well done broken into pieces. It did not look like the online photo. Corn tortillas are store bought. I wanted this place to be great… I am disappointed. I won’t be back.

The fajita beef taco ,the carnitas and chicharron is all good ,but bacon and egg was chopped up and no taste really. Their service is just lousy and they're rude. I even am a big tipper due to being a waitress 10 years. I don't know if it's cuz I'm white and American and they just want to ignore me and laugh and play childish games by ignoring my table ... I don't know, but I have to be honest I've had three different waitress and they are all rude. I was with my niece on Sunday 3/30/2025 around 1 p.m. and we were hungry. I've been to this Alex's Tacos many times before they moved into their new location, right next door to the original location, and as always the food was as expected, delicious. On this day service was bad. Alex's Tacos is an authentic Mexican restaurant and I give it 4 out of 5 stars because of the Mexican cuisine. However we, my niece and I, being tejano my niece speaks very little Spanish but can understand it, we were treated with a disgusting attitude by the service personnel. Our server did not want to give us any attention. Through our great state of Texas and our country I've experienced, we who are natural born Mexican-American are treated differently among the people from Mexico who made their way into our great country illegally/legally expect us to conform to accommodating them everywhere and restaurants, at work, at the grocery store, everywhere we go. The hypocritical thing about that is those who are Caucasian African American they do not ask them to speak Spanish as they would us and giving a look of discuss when some people can't even understand what they're saying. I don't speak of only Mexican descent but also goes who are in our country and expect us to speak their language. Our primary language in the United States is English. I asked that you give respect to learn our language. Let's communicate and do not expect that we being Hispanic should know our language. I will no longer go into Alex's Tacos in Seguin Texas. You must change the attitude of your staff and those who work in your establishment. I asked that everyone boycotts this place.

The open hours are not true! Went to the shop and the girls stood there staring through the glass like deers in a headlight. Don’t bother calling their mailbox is non existent and it only rings once. Like at least come to the door and communicate sheesh.

The food is delicious: price is good but the service is very poor :: we come here regularly because we love the food but every single time i have to get up and go ask for a refill of sweet tea after waiting about 20 minutes to see if they come but i look there way and waitresses are just chatting and our lids are open waiting at the corner of the table for refill and nothing ,, would likr for waitress to be more attentive to thier customers instead of just chatting just like now that were here and same thing happened,,

After sitting for 20min and not getting drink order taken. And watching 6 other groups come in after us and have there drink order taken and drinks come out and food order taken, guess we must be invisible.

Quesadillas were literally just mild cheddar slices melted in the middle. Boring. Chips seemed to be from a bag and just heated up. No salsa to go with them, just squirt bottles of sauce. Steak was very chewy. Pop was in cans. Wait staff said come get us if you need anything. Won’t be back.

Came in to eat with my family and waited 40 minutes for the food. My husband ordered nachos with beef and the brought a small plate with 6 chips, old carne and cheese that looked like it came from the donation box. I ordered three flautas, beans and rice and they were out of guacamole and sour cream. So the food was so dry and hard to eat. I had to drench it with the water down salsa they had on the table in order to get it down. My mother ordered two chicken tacos and the chicken meat was old and seemed to be boiled. This is by far the worst place we have tried. This is not authentic Mexican food. Don't go here, you will do better cooking at home or eating a bologna sandwich.

Ordered pozole and miga taco. never got the chips with the pozole. Pozole was cooked with pork ribs I'm like ok tried it definitely a no no--who does this??? Didn't eat it! Told cashier not paying for something I'd didn't eat. She talks to the guy in the back and said I'd needed to pay 4 it that next time I should ask 4 a sample before ordering. I'm like it suppose to be cooked with Boston pork butt not pork ribs. How I'm I suppose to know it has pork ribs if it's stated on the menu as so! They eventually didn't charge after some talking. Will not return to this restaurant. Service is always slow. Shouldn't have to argue when your not happy with the quality of the food.

Be aware that besides sales tax, you'll be getting charging extra 15% if you have a party of 5. Will not go back.

Mexican restaurant that doesn't have chili for enchiladas? Also we ordered on line so no mistakes should be made but we ordered 2 enchiladas only got one. Asked for no tomatoes full of tomatoes. Specifically said no jalapeños and they were on everything. Never order again

1st time here. The ugly attitude from the white female cook, waitress whatever her position is, was very rude. She, was in line to use bathroom. Me & my 13 year old granddaughter greeted her. She, totally ignored us, gave us a disgusted look and as she excited bathroom she bumped us. No I'm sorry, I was very upset but left it alone. Than as we were waiting on food. A couple of gentleman started screaming that the waitress was rude and prejudice. Screaming scaring our 3 grandchildren. The aka manager standing there laughing not diffusing the situation was disgusting to say the least. All in that seating area exited in less than 3 min. Such a beautiful restaurant, great food. But, service was not great. The discrimination was very heavy. I wouldn't recommend this place for that reason. But, Than again you're only a good as your MANAGEMENT!!

Arrived from out of town to eat tacos because it said open on Google & no one was there, plus their drive thru situation is weird.

Terrible experience when you have a loved one call you crying because they placed an order here and tried waiting for 30 minutes for it as they watched others come up and grab their orders consistently. Heard the workers talking negatively about her in Spanish as if she didn’t understand what they were saying. Left without her food because she didn’t want to wait any longer.

I'M FLOORED😡🤬🤢🤮 I got the carne asada plate...came with grilled onions instead of traditional raw, the cilantro was full of the chopped stems🤮 the served the plate with lemons and not your traditional fruit which is lime 🍋‍🟩 the salsas were perfectly spiced but soooo lacked in flavor... 🤔🤔🤔Here is my main complaint, we asked for a container for my charro beans so I could obviously take them home and when my husband checked the bill, THEY CHARGED US 1$... DIDN'T ADVISE US (which I could have just put them in my Togo box) BUT, IVE NEVER BEEN TO A MEXICAN RESTAURANT WHO HAS EVER CHARGED FOR YOUR TOGO CONTAINERS...I JUST WONDER IF THEY CHARGE YOU FOR YOUR TOGO ORDERS, CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS 🤢🤮🤢🤮 🤔🤔🤔 Wow, I just saw they charged us 2.00 Xtra dollars for my husband's al pastor(PORK) we got the same plate, he asked if he could switch it up she said yes, 3/2... NEVER MENTIONED THE UP CHARGE & IT'S NOT BEEF FAJITA HE GOT😡🤬😡🤬😡🤬 And I work in the hospitality industry... Just plain bad business🙄🙄🙄

05JUL25 - I have been in this place twice (new location not next door) to eat. The first time I was getting little to no service after the initial greet. it was busy that day. still service was sub par. the food is good there but there service is horrible. well... maybe it was too busy... understaffed... who knows... fast forward to today. I was there again. it was Saturday mid afternoon. there was a table of 5 eating and the rest was empty. I got told she would be back in 5 min. a couple came ordered a to go and left. I was never attended. after about 15 minutes I just checked in at the register to check out. we'll that was it. still left hungry. they were all huddled up in behind the register. yup... customer service is horrible... I miss next door.... just grab tacos and go... the dine in experience is dead here. what a d shame. love their food. so sad.

Went to Alex's Taco Restaurant for the first time today. I walked in and there was zero staff so i just took a seat at a table. There were two tables in there with people and they looked to be done eating already. 5 minutes pass, still no one. About the 10 minute mark, a girl comes out from the back, takes a look at me, and just walks back into the back. Didn't say anything, just walked off. I waited another 5-7 minutes and just stood up and left. From the reviews it seems this is common if you are white. I decided to go to The Palms Taqueria (first time there too) and was greeted and sat immediately, the food was amazing and the staff were nice. I tipped the waitress $20 on a $23 bill simply out of spite for Alex's Taco Restaurant and how they treated me.. first impressions matter, I will never go back.
