I personally dont ever crave Sonic but my family wanted to stop by on our road trip. They accidentally forgot my jalapeños but they were extremely apologetic and fixed it right away and went above and beyond to make sure I was happy. I recommend this one because everyone is very nice. There was a young man on his day off and also made sure I was taken care of right away. You guys rock. Oh yeah and the Hatch Green Chile Cheeseburger is the best wished they had this in Houston, Tx.

Literally THE BEST Sonic in Lubbock county. The food taste better and the customer service is above and beyond! Will literally go out of my way when I'm going home to stop here even though I pass 3 Sonics on the way home.

Very quick and freindly service. We used the drive through and our wait was only a few minutes. The woman at the window was friendly and smiling and even called my husband, "Sir." We highly recommend the Sonic just outside of Shallowater on the 84 Hwy.

Ashley, server, is amazing. Always helpful with a smile. She remembers regulars, not only faces (and voices at the drive-thru), but their order. Staff is friendly and food is delivered quickly.

Old school drive in. You can pull up to a screen and someone will wait on your vehicle, possibly on roller skates. It is decent food and very consistent! Standard hamburger faire with Cherry/LimeAides that have made it famous!

I came from a place that had one sonic that was horrible. Here, however, the food has been great, people are friendly, and I love that I don't have to stay in my car. They are reasonably priced and have deals on certain days for those who have the app. This is now the first place I think of when asked, "Do you want McDonald's?" Nope, I want Sonic. Great job guys.

A great place to head when your on the road. Drinks are a bit pricey, but happy hour is a great time to go.

Hamburgers and tots. What more can you ask for. If you are looking for quality, its better than McD's. Also, the cherry limeade is a go-to on hot summer nights.

I go to this Sonic all the time because I live by it and they are good people they're good with all their customers well I can say that for myself because course I know but for everybody else I really can't say but for me I love Sonic they have great food there great employees employers they're friendly the smile they always get the orders right except for one to say once or twice I had to say something but I didn't that food was perfect right hot no problems drinks were great I love it and if you've never tried Sonic you need to cuz it's good

I generally love Sonic's. The drinks are always to die for! The food usually is good but what is it about not wanting to put the condiments in the sack. Even if you order something like chicken and you want the dips, and tell them what dips, they bring your sack out to the car read off your order each item, they need to believe the condiments are in there but when you start to eat you don't have them?! What gives Sonic? Would it be too much to ask for the person that brings the order out to glance in the bag and make sure that it has what it's supposed to have in it?

Not complaining about the service it was good and fast. The only thing I don't like about Sonic is the food upset my stomach sometimes. I think Sonic should add more health friendly items to their menu.

The service there is pretty good. The food is just okay. This particular visit I had a number one hamburger meal and the bottom bun on the burger was as hard as cardboard. That's a bit out of character for this particular Sonic.

Didn't put the Carmel in my ice coffee that I paid extra for and took forever to get our food even though we ordered online before arriving but other than that the food was good.

Burgers where made wrong. Ask for no onions and no tomato. Mustard. They put just opposite. Asked for tots on one order got all fries. The order was right on the screen and on the ticket. Just not what we got. The place was not busy at the time.

Hamburgers are always cold when we get them thru the drive thru. Chicken strips were good. Drinks aren't always what you order

They get a 3 only because their servers are always super friendly. Otherwise, blah. Okay food if you're lucky and they order is ALWAYS incorrect. We joke about it. "What will they get wrong this time." It took more than a year of arm twisting for my daughter to even get me to come back to this particular Sonic because I am convinced I got food poisoning from a cookie dough milk shake. Probably poor quality control on what's fresh, expiration dates etc. I just won't get shakes anymore.

Every order i make has not been exactly as i asked for. But the staff is very nice and never rude.

I had to wait for 20 minutes for 3 drinks. Wasn't very happy for sure. Whan I got them they were very watered down

What we get is NOT what we ordered 90% of the time. Today, the Ultimate Chicken CLUB became Classic Chicken Sandwich with a spit of Mayo.

They didn’t tell me they were only accepting cash, brought the food out and then they tell me. Car hop was upset, needless to say I went to Lubbock, probably should have gone there isn’t the first place.

Came here to stop for a bit, go potty, and get a quick drink. I ordered my boyfriends and my drink and then I left for the bathroom. I ended up waiting 10 minutes to use the single occupancy restroom, just for an employee to come out and say "whoops sorry". I was so close to peeing myself I thought about using the other genders bathroom or even using the grass outside. Extremely unprofessional. I sure hope she was on break or something because good lord, you allow your employees to mess around in the bathroom that long?

We always seem to have issues with this Sonic. This time our burgers we ordered did not come out the way we ordered. Then the manager at the time of this visit told the carhop that he made them the way we ordered them which was incorrect.

The Sonic in Shallowater make me upset. They are slug slow and bring you items not mixed or cooked through. I understood the app orders come first and I've had to wait 15 minutes for one. I ordered ice cream and got a lump of cookie dough in the bottom. I like Sonic but this one in Shallowater is giving it a bad name.

This sonic is very slow. We were at the dive through for about 15 mins. No tap pay either

The food is decent when ever it is made right. For the quality of food they sale verses the price, it's not worth it. You would be better off going to a different burger joint instead.

Every time I go, I have to repeat my order multiple times. My order still ends up wrong and then I have to pay again to make up the difference because of their mistake. I don't mind paying for what I order, i do however have an issue with correcting my order multiple times and then being charged for what I didn't order and then have to pay again for the difference.

Customer service was Awsome 5 stars, but not so much the food I know that could've been so much better. I ordered a coney combo #7 the bun was hard & falling apart the frank was over cooked looked more like super dark red color & the tots were burned like if they re-dipped them into the fryer to get them hot.

The ice cream and drinks are the only things I recommend at this sonic. They put cinnamon on my onion rings, chili tots barley a drip of chili and get my order wrong almost every time. I drive out of my way to go to other Sonics.

Head set was not operating and associate required repeating of order. She did apologize multiple times. Credit card receptical was not in operation which required associate to use a neighboring drive space for payment. Screen at 5:30 pm was not visible by customer due to sun shining directly on screen. Food was acceptable.

Quality has definitely slipped at this Sonic. They have been consistently serving stale food the last several visits. Recently, I received an inedible Coney that must have been cooking for hours. Today I got some stale chicken strips that tasted like onion rings. They also don't know how to wipe off a cup after overfilling it. Every single time it seems like the cup is dripping wet. The buns on their burgers have no crust and need to be toasted. Hope things change soon.

This is the worst sonic in the Lubbock area. We keep going there because it’s the only thing quick in shallowwater. But my order is missing items approximately 70% of the time, and the items we do receive are often made carelessly. Overcooked, undercooked, or just made sloppily. There is just an overall lack of caring from the employees here and that never seems to be corrected meeting the management also does not care. If any other fast food opens up here, this restaurant will not make it.

I was driving my farm truck and I know it's not pretty plus a little exhaust leak not really loud but you can hear it running. I did not get the same service as I get when driving my car. Idk why it would matter what I'm driving as to the service I get. The food was the same but the people different. I normally give a few dollars tip. But not that time. Oh well now I know.

The burger was ok. However we got 3 different flavored drinks & they all gross. Will not go back there.

Rancid grease used to fry my tots. How can you get tots wrong? Flat soda. The only thing more depressing than this place is the hick town its in. Doodle-doo. The banjo's really strummin' out here. Customer service is an abomination. Spongey chicken. Friendly, yet smelly. Tasty shakes.

Tables were dirty. Water costs $0.54. who charges for water?? No refills on drinks that were mostly ice. Food was sub par. Probably won't go back.

The service is the worst i have had everytime i go there the order is wrong and ask for ranch and get told it was not ask for but it is on the receipt where i had ask for i try to give a change but it dont seem to get any better and when i call to let them know the order is wrong or not all there i can never get answer and i have to drive back to the location to me if that is how they want to run there business and have that kind of customer service i will not go there any more went back giving them a other chance but the service is still the same customers that get there and order after I have been there get there order and when it shows order on the way I am still wanting 15 to 20 before I get my order and the drink is water down and the food is cold and can never get some to talk to about the issue this has gone on for a while it is not getting resolved

Horrible service, I used the app. Showed up 1 minute before my due time, 25 minutes later I finally got my order, about 5 minutes into my wait the screen said my order was on the way out . It'll be a long time before I go back.

So I went up to the drive-thru and told them they didn't say anything I was just sitting there for a wile then the manager comes and I had to tell her again about the Sprite she said I was being rude! We've only lived in shallowater for 3 months never had a problem until these past two visits. Continuously i had said i wanted a burger with ONLY mayo and lettuce and i got everything with no onion. And the second time i ordered a bacon burger with an extra patty got my food and went home to find it marked "special"and it not having an extra patty. They knew it was a different burger but didn't add the difference. And normally you would remake it but they jus added a fresh hot patty on a cold burger patties greased up the buns and carhops are greedy

Was there a little after 4 today. Got popcorn chicken and fries. The fries had been recorded numerous times and were cold as ice. The chicken was so tuff and hard even my dogs wouldn't eat it. This place is HORRIBLE..

We we're their Saturday the 11th We tried to order 1 large water and 1 Rt. 44 Strawberry Water with extra Strawberry. The screen showed a lrg cherry limeade and a lg Sweet tea. 2nd time it was a diet Dr Pepper and Tea. Finally an employee had to come to the car to write it down.

If I wanted cheap from a bag chicken strip I could have went to the dollar general next door to you. They test like paper. 9.00 for what? Not even close to what ever other sonic servers

The service was speedy, yes. However for the 3rd time they got our order wrong. They fudge on the delivery time by clicking the button that says order is ready, and your server is on their way. When the order was still in the kitchen, and took 10 minutes beyond that point to be delivered. My popcorn chicken was cold, hard, and mostly chunks of crust smooshed into big enough balls to appear to have chicken, but had none. When asked to correct the order, they gave me the same wrong drink back, and the server was rude wanting to charge us extra for having to fix their mistake on our food order. This sonic used to be my favorite, but not anymore

The food is as tasty as their commercials are funny. Recently visited Sonic. The food was not very satisfying. I had a drink, pop corn chicken, and a pretzel twist. If I was on the road and had to get a bite- I would not stop here again. There are other more satisfying fast food places to get a quick bite. Save your money.

I wish I could give it less. We only ever eat here when we're stuck doing a job in Shallowater. This is the only place to eat in the entire town. It's bad. It's so bad. You'd think being the only place in town to eat that they would care more about the food they serve or the service they provide. I asked for a mesquite butter bacon cheeseburger no pickles, with tots, and a Dr Pepper. It came with pickles, fries, and a coke. The burger was burnt. Overabundance of BBQ sauce that was unpleasant by far. I've eaten at this location more than 10 times, and not once has it ever been worth a single cent.

I placed a 2 drink order, and all I could see for 10 minutes was the employees playing and goofing off. Very unprofessional, and if there was a manager , they were okay with this behavior in the work place? So I pushed the button again, I told them I placed an order 10 minutes ago and my carhop said "okay, be right out." And hung up. When the carhop finally brought the drinks out, all he said was "Sorry." I'm glad I was just passing through Shallowater and don't live there. I'd make a long trip to Lubbock so I could at least get good service.

Just so sloppy and like they don care to work. Ordered the Ultimate meat and cheese burrito. Don’t see any tots in it. There’s barely any egg I basically got a tortilla will back strip sauce and cheese. Tortilla doesn’t not even feel warm.

I've been eating Sonic for at least two decades now. I just got a double cheeseburger. I ate 3 of 4 bites. The meat stunk like fish. I will never eat one again. It was disgusting and I'm feeling sick to my stomach. I'd rather of ate McDonald's. I'm through with Sonic burgers.

Not a great too place stop and get anything. The drinks are ok if they make them correctly. Very unorganized, but its NO surprise because ALL of the SONICS are alike. This particular place took too long too do anything.

I go to my local Sonic alot. As I was on a road trip I found this one on my route. I decided to stop, use the restroom and place an order. (One quick stop). I couldn't believe they had their restroom closed and customers could not use! There is no reason for this! Very disappointed. I quickly left to go somewhere else where I could order food/drink AND use the restroom. Travel thru here occasionally and won't bother to stop.

When the food is right its good..for being the only place to eat in Shallowater they sure do need to get it together. Any order larger than one person you are guaranteed something is incorrect. If you go for your family plan on staying awhile until they get it right. It took me 3 tries today for a 4 person order. Your almost better off going through the drive thru 4 separate times...Come on Sonic this by far the worst I've seen out of you and it's the only place to eat here.

All the way around I hate sonic I hate it so much I give it another try every few months hoping they get it together but same result every time. Only way you’re gonna get your order right is if you go back there and make it yourself. having to wait 15 minutes for 3 drinks because thy put your order in drive through WHEN THEY HAD NI CARS is just pitiful. No apology no remaking it nothing just watered down drinks and disappointment.

The food here sucks they gave a burger that been sitting under a heat lamp the damn cheese is still hard and the buns are just as hard

11/20/25 night shift. HORRIBLE! ordered 2 drinks took 15 minutes to make them!! they packed the cup with nothing but ice the STRAW wouldn’t even go though! didn’t wanna go back then they would’ve took another 15 minutes to make 1 drink. Mind you NO cars were there that should’ve been my first sign! lol NEVER WILL i be back.

Employees were great, not sure if they just were slow and had to make my burger but it wasn’t cooked all the way. Today is 11-3-2024 and this order was around 7:30pm. I am assuming they didnt have the patty’s ready so they had to rush because i waited for around 5 minutes. Not An issue with me as long as the food is good. Well now i dont have a receipt to get a refund. ALSO PLEASE CHANGE YOUR WATER FILTERS. Every time you get a drink here it taste like unfiltered water. Dr.pepper always taste like toilet water here.

Here I AM AGAIN!!! figured my order couldn’t be wrong again!!! Mind you the first order they messed up they have still yet to fix!!!!! So I go to day and I get the chicken sandwich with mayo lettuce and I pay for the tomato and sure enough it’s not on there!!!!! Here the proof and my noble order mind you the order that’s under MCKINNLEE CRISWELL is me to and I have tried calling multiple times for weeks to make them get it fixed but no they don’t fix it So I will now be contacting the District manager!!! Waited forever for someone to take our order, then finally went through drive thru. Saw workers goofing around as we came around. Ordered an Oreo and Reese's peanut butter shake. This should have a peanut butter flavor. I watched them make it and they added no peanut butter. When I asked about it the young man got very rude. He kept repeating himself and not letting me speak. They remade it and handed it to us very rudely. They gave me no straw. I then asked the young lady who came to the window his name and she was rude as well. She slammed window and refused to give a straw. VERY rude.

You would think it would be easy to make an order correctly when it's a number one cheeseburger mayonnaise no mustard with chili cheese tots but apparently every single time this is entirely too much for this Sonic to handle. I have never had hot food from this location Nor has my order ever been 100% correct. Due to lack of options in Shallowater I continue to give this place a chance.

Terrible ...... came and this was the last place to stop and grab food before arriving to the town we were headed to so we had no choice. Waited at a stall for nearly 20 minutes with no help but they helped others who pulled in. The screen worked so it was not that. Went through the drive through and ordered two meals. She didn't ring that up so didn't receive the second drink and second side of fries. Acted like I was an inconvenience.... if you can't keep up with demand then close down the drive through or just close the stalls. Pick one or the other.... nearly 40 minutes for terrible service!
