Such good food and such great service!
We are visiting here from Arizona and stopped here from a recommendation from a co worker that lives in Simi Valley. I Highly recommended estlio Guadalajara Jalisco Mexico. Home made food they have been here for 34 years. The staff is very friendly we will definitely be back soon.
They have the best fresh oysters. They are nice and big, not little tiny ones like you get at expensive steakhouses. They are amazing! Always get a dozen or two when we visit there. All the food is excellent, staff is very friendly. The owner and his son are awesome. They always remember us when we come in. Its always a great experience!
These guys have always been very good but lately I just really feel like they’ve been stepping up their game. Highly recommend!
This place is where anyone can go and feel like family. The first time I went 7 years ago. I will never forget seeing Joanne sit down with a family and take their order. The kids all went up and gave her hugs. I knew I found my spot. I love this family.
I love the authentic decorative tables and chairs on the patio. The shrimp soup was amazing and hot and flavorful on a cool day. Good homemade guacamole. Fast and attentive service. They brought a bucket of Coronas over ice with lime wedges, "pay for only the ones you drink" which was nice to have available :)
I’ve been here twice as of this post and can genuinely say I thoroughly enjoy their delectable food. I’ve heard that all Mexican restaurants possess too similar of quality. El Taco surpasses these stereotypical expectations. Their food is clean and fairly priced. Their street tacos are incredibly small but each bite serves my taste buds well.
I love this place. I've been coming here for more than a decade and the food and service is always fantastic. Big recommend if you're craving some tacos and quesadilla's
Amazing tacos, great great service! I did a large catering order with them and needed more tacos fast since we ran out and they were so quick with it!! Extremely kind staff, tasty tacos. Everyone should go!
This is the best Mexican food anywhere. I've been coming here since 1985 and just made it a priority to get there on a trip from my new home in FL. Well worth it. No place better in my opinion. Great service and the Chili Colorado is unreal!
Delicious and authentic food. The place is very small--about five or six tables inside and about five or six more outside. Quick, friendly service. TVs at either end to watch the current sporting events or anything. Lunch specials Mon thru Fri. Very nice, little, local place
This is home cooking! Pocole on Saturday morning is priceless! My wife needed something for her cold and this place did not disappoint. I love this place! This home cooking!
Quality food. Great price. Great environment. Nice people! I haven't share at least once a week and I love their shrimp tacos!
The plates are a good portion, that leaves a little room for desert. Everyone is friendly and the service is fast. Even the owner comes out to greet you. Very cozy environment. Would recommend
Love this place!! We always get the best service and the tacos are delicious! My husband and I have been coming to the restaurant for “date night” for over seven years and our family loves the taco catering service.
The owner and her staff were so helpful, kind and professional. They provided food for a party of 70. Everyone wanted to know where the food came from. Love their food!
This place is amazing! Dollar tacos on Tuesday and Thursday, Mexican beers $3. The food is freshly prepared, great quality, super friendly staff, etc....$15 and roll out the door. For the value, this is 5 stars all the way
Excellent authentic Mexican food, friendly service. The Shrimp Cocktail is LOADED with shrimp and avocado. Great flavorful Carnitas. My new favorite when I'm in Simi Valley!
I go here ALL the time with my husband (who goes even more often!) and truly look forward to it each time. The food is outstanding and authentic - made with love by family. Best chile relleno and carnitas I've ever had. I highly recommend this place.
Very welcoming, service, food and staff. I feel like I'm seating at a family's sunday brunch.
The food is very good, great family environment, and amazing service.
Great place for taco Tuesday! The carnitas street tacos were out of this world. Super delicious!!
Okay let me just say one thing first, FIRE 🔥!!!! If you’re looking for the real deal authentic Mexican food that hits the spot every time without caring how much you spend because it’s so dang delicious, then this is the place you need to visit next! Their Micheladas are the best in town! Don’t believe me? Try it for yourself. Oh, their carnitas tacos, tortilla chips and salsa, chilaquiles, flautas de pollo, menudo, I mean the list goes on. Just trust me and give it a shot! 🙌🏼 Aside from the food, the staff & owners are amazing! They make you feel at home and like family! Pic of food is when I ordered to go. Pic of beer was when I stopped by to dine in of course.
Delicious food and great service. Tuesdays and Thursdays they offer 99 cent tacos. The patio looked very pleasant to sit at but it was too cold on the day of our visit. Parking in the rear.
New place we tried. I loved it! I got the pozole I had been craving and it was good. Nice people, server and the owner or manager were very welcoming. The place was busy too, looked like a lot of regulars were there for the game. Rams were playing!! The only thing I can suggest is that they get new booths or get theirs reupholstered. They are pretty old, ratty looking with shredded material hanging off them. It takes away from the look. But the food & ambiance are really good.
The service was excellent and the food even better I had shrimp abalone oysters and octopus Ceviche, I also ordered a half order of oysters on a half shell day with a best honestly honestly that I've ever had anywhere I've ever ate the food is excellent and I knew that that's why I went back I love it there there was so much seafood and that glass that I had to take some home
Fantastic food! Great service. I found this place driving by looking for a good place to get lunch one day.... Now I'm there three or four days a week! Never a bad a bad meal!
Wonderful food, wonderful staff... Definitely will return.

I like it.... Good food, good service, Alma is the best, thank you Alma for you customer service👍...🌮🌯🍤🥩🍻🍛🥤
Love the Posole here. Very soft meat and taste
This is by far the best authentic Mexican restaurant in Simi Valley! The portion size is very generous and the customer service is amazing. We go there every Thursday and it never gets old. Every time we go the food just gets better and better. If you’re in Simi, I highly recommend!
Great food. Family owned. Always delicious and made with care. Clean, authentic restaurant. Indoor or outdoor dining. Tight parking in back if you have a big vehicle, extra parking around the corner on the street.
We needed something warm for the cold and Alma reserved some delicious Menudo for us. Perfect! Also try the mojarra frita, super 😋 yum
Man, when I tell you, this is a serious hole in the wall in Simi Valley believe me! Such a welcoming staff in the food that they have is truly top-tier. I think this is actually my favorite Mexican restaurant. They even know me and my family by name. Outstanding service! Thank you guys!
My favorite spot for menudo, pozole and beer. The staff is very friendly, they have a lot of frequent customers, which is always a good sign. The chicharron tacos are also excellent. Parking can be a drag, but sode streets are close by.
Love this place!!! Had a fabulous breakfast burrito on a Sunday morning there

It's the second time I've been there, and the food is good they serve group style dishes that can be shared with 2-6 people. Seafood and Beef dishes. Great place to go with friends and split a bucket of beer.
Tacos taste very typical, tasty salsas and meat seasoned properly, the only thing we didn't enjoy it was the fan blowing cold air to our hot food. Service from server was great 👍 and noticed the other tables were receiving the very same great service!!!
Delicious food with great portions, fast preparation and ordering, and it's own parking area. Not as friendly as franchises with their nationalized corporate training, but an independent place doesn't need to be. Will be going back.
The pozole here is incredible according to my family and they love the unique taste and love coming here. I personally got the lengua burrito and I’m going to be honest here it was alright. The waitress was really helpful at making things right whenever we had a problem with our food but also making sure we were enjoying it. Very friendly staff. The inside seating is a little cramped if you come in with five plus people.

I went in first and tried to ask the waitress if there was another way to get on the restaurant because my husband is in a wheelchair. She acted like she didn't understand English. I repeated myself several times each time she said " I no see, I no see" and then walked around me, she was very rude. This was our first time there, and I wanted to try the food, s o I looked around myself. There is a narrow driveway on the side of the building, leading to a small parking lot in the back of the building. There was one handicapped space, which fortunately was open. We went in the back door. We got waited on by the new owner of 3 months. He told us how he just bought the restaurant from his father-in-law. I didn't tell him how rude his waitress was to me when I was trying to find a way in. He was very nice and attentive throughout our meal. I had a shredded beef burrito with everything, and my husband had a chimmichaga. They were excellent. They make all their salsa's from scratch, and they are "hot." I don't care for hot salsa, so the owner made me some mild salsa. He took very good care of us. We will be eating there again. The food is very good and his service was excellent. The waitress apologized. Anyone can have a bad day, I just worked around her. Happy eating.

The food is good and the prices are reasonable but the manager is kind of RUDE and always seems to be in a crappy mood. The other staff however are nice but there isn't very much seating space. I always order to go now because the food really is good so I recommend calling in advance. Especially because my husband and i arrived and decided we would just order it to go to enjoy at home and got hassled about why we didn't just call over the phone. Really? You weren't just happy with the fact that we give you our business and are always polite? After that I stopped going for a while and instead drive to Mercado Guadalajara where the food is 10 times better, there is hardly a wait, and the prices are almost dirt cheap. If you live in Simi then El Taco De Mexico is good but honestly if recommend driving a little for the market.
Taco Tuesday- tacos supposed to be a dollar each, order 7 tacos and ended up costing $17. Were very rude, waited for a long time, asked the guy for limes and he threw lemons at me in a bag. Rip off! Don’t recommend! Also, last time I ate there, I found a bone in my chicken taco, disgusting!! Thought I should give them another try, but I was wrong!!!
Very expensive and the food no good but everyone has different taste this place is not for me super nice lady at the counter

Host/register woman was unapproachable & almost non responsive. I understand she has to also take care of the floor patrons, but didn't even say 'Hello'. I just received a look as she grabbed a pen & pad. After I paid, nothing. I wasn't told how long it would, where to wait or who would give me my order. Once I received my family's dinner, there was nothing once again. I had to ask if that was everything & if I could have some salsa. She responded 'in the bag' & then turned away. The food was pretty good, but with the service I received, I'll take my business elsewhere, where I get far better treatment, better flavor & even a slight cheaper price. Too bad, it's a nice authentic place to eat.
Had a couple of shredded beef tacos there recently; the beef had a funky, unusual taste. Having salsa helped. Never crazy about a joint where the price on the bill doesn't match the one on the menu. Update your menus.
Not a place to visit, waitress has no clue about service, they are clearly not following minimum of CDC guidelines regarding Covid-19. We ordered Menudo, no taste, condiments never arrived with food, only one large party outside 8-10 people. We definitely do not recommend.
What a Rip off, we had two burritos and 3 beers between us, the price was $33.00, the burritos consisted of mostly rice. We will never eat there again or recommend it to anybody. A bad experience, terrible food.
Cut my self cracking a crab leg than i told the girl to trow away the spoon. be cause it had blood on it, and shes like is my bad i didnt offer you the tool to crack the shells not going back again ...i will not recommend it to any of my friens.......
