The dine-in side is impressive, while the take out is convenient.

This location is really unique, there are induvial rooms you can sit in. There are privacy curtains to separate the rooms. We made reservations for my bridal dinner. The wait staff was really nice and accommodating. We ordered a lot of different food, to eat family style. Everything was really good. The chicken lettuce wraps are awesome. Defiantly a nice place to with friends, family or a larger party. There is also a bar in the back.

This is our go-to place to dine while in Stockton. We go there several time on a less than a week visit. The food is delicious, the service and place superb. The large portions means plenty to take back to the room for later!

We loved Dave Wongs. We had a private room and there were about 20 of us and we had a wonderful meal and pretty good service. This is the place to go for great food and large groups. Every dish was prepared perfectly. Everyone had plenty to eat. This is one of my favorite places to eat.

Kevin, the Manager is usually there to greet us, gets us a great table. The food is the very best Chinese food; always fresh. The service is excellent, and the wait time is reasonable. The price is reasonable and well worth it! We drive from the foothills, a 1 hour drive because it’s a real treat.

Possibly the best Chinese food in town. Certainly our favorite, and a great place for small gatherings and family meals together. The private dining areas are nice if you have a larger group. The wok charred green beans are a must have, regardless of anything else you order.

This is a beautiful restaurant, right off of I-5 on March Lane in Stockton. When you walk through the door, you are greeted. Walking into the dining room, you see an amazing decor. Several booths along the wall have curtains that give you a romantic experience. The prices are not what you would expect, they are very reasonable. The food is amazing. We went for lunch, and the meals were under $12 each. Hope you enjoy as much as we did.

Food is delicious haven’t been in a few years but definitely one of the cleanest Chinese food takeout in Stockton and the quality is amazing spent $30 on fried rice , chow mien, bbq pork and prawns everything was just how i remembered it so good . But the bbq pork could have a little bit more of a char to it out I just cooked it a little longer once home . Definitely will keep this place in rotation for my take out again

Dave Wong's has good food no doubt. Have been around a long time and probably the best in Stockton since on lock Sam. The deli is a bit pricey but the food is good. If you're in Stockton and need a good Chinese dinner or Chinese food to go from their deli definitely try Dave Wongs.

I am always impressed with the quality of food as well as the amount. The photo shows the #3 and the price is amazing for the amount of food! The prawns are mouth watering and the rice is always on point! I have eaten here 20+ times and it is a family favorite! Even if we spend 100+$ we feel it's worth it for what we get and that is rare these days! Dining in is a great experience as well they have private booths! Just try it, you won't be sorry!

Great food. Intimate dining yet still family friendly. While they have an open dining area, there are also over 10 private booth areas. The lemon chicken is most popular, and a great choice if you’ve a sweet tooth. Foil wrapped chicken is dark meat and cones out quite rich. The white rice is long grain and not quite sticky. It’s served and kept hot in a covered dish which is a big plus.

When I visit friends we always come here and I love it. Been here 3 times and have had delicious quality food that never makes me feel terrible like most Chinese restaurants. Feels authentic and none of that Americanized Chinese drenched in sugar and breaded and grease. This last time we sat in a booth with curtains and that was a lot of fun. Service is always friendly and good timing. Highly recommend.

I had a very good lunch I tend to like more veggies in my dishes so I wish the meat dishes had a little more options in that had vegetables, it was fantastic the meat was tender and good quality. I visited Dave Wong’s with some friends, and we ordered several items on the menu to share. The food was prepared as ordered with the exception of the Mongolian Beef instead of the ordered Broccoli Beef. The waiter quickly resolved the mishap by replacing with the correct menu item. The food was really good. The egg drop soup was prepared different than what I am accustomed to, but the taste was good as all. I would recommend this restaurant

Food was good but they don’t have every dish you’d expect at an American Chinese restaurant. What they do have is tasty! Have been twice on week days and both times they were oddly low on beer options.

The food was okay. Chicken tasted like it was sitting out a little too long. The chicken was not crispy it was a little hard. The hot mustard had an aftertaste. Hot sauce was not to my liking. It's not bad. Maybe I caught it on an off day. I'll try it again really soon. The prices are pretty good. They have pretty good portions.

Atmosphere is definitely a 5/5 here! Really cool spot to eat and they offer private room reservations as well. Staff even decorated pretty well for the holidays. Only catch is the food portions/options are fairly limited compared to what you may be paying for. Also food may be a bit different from mainstream, as sweet/sour pork just tasted like vinegar 😅

They sat us in the middle of the restaurant and the cold air was cold whenever anyone came in and out. Bartender was great. Server seemed irritated with everything we did and said. Apps came with the meal instead of before. Prices were quite reasonable. Some dishes were good (garlic prawns, garlic chicken). Charred veggie dish was great. Others were ok but a little strange veering on the sweeter side which was unexpected (black pepper chicken and others). Dishes were plentiful.

Ordered the Shrimp Dumpling Soup and the House Chow Mein. The dumplings were very tasty and tender, perfectly cooked , although the broth was unremarkable. The Chow Mein exhibited all of the best characteristics of each ingredient playing off each other for an enjoyable, uncomplicated ensemble requiring a dash of soy sauce to round the dish's showcase.

For quick Chinese food, we used to go to Sherman Buffet in Country Club ..generous n reasonably priced. But few times we went .. the Orange Chicken was hard to chew .. over fried or overcooked .. Sometimes a little sauce n fried rice was not good. So we changed to Dave Wong's Deli ..take out. Love their Sweet n sour Pork, Chow Mein n Tin Foil Chicken. Delicious , tender meat n nice sauce. We order the Combination plate. They're consistent.

Update: Monday, July 21, 2025 PM I think we’re pretty much finished with Dave Wong‘s for now. The last couple of times that we’ve eaten there the food does not seem like it is cooked to order. Tonight, we had beef chow fun, fried prawns, crab Rangoon. We had to send the crab rangoon back. It was soggy and barely warm. The beef chow fun seemed a bit fresher but it was greasy as hell. The fried prawns were not cooked fresh! I would swear that half of that food was stuck in the microwave to heat it up. But the owner claims they do not own any microwaves! Next time, for Chinese food will probably go back to Dynasty and try them again. The sweet-and-sour pork was edible because they don’t put the sauce over it till it’s served . The pork itself was warm but the sauce they put over is quite hot so it tends to heat up the pork a bit. The chicken fried rice Was made fresh. It had to be, since we ordered it with no veggies…just rice, eggs and a little bit of chicken. I spoke with the owner and conveyed our concerns. He seemed to be concerned and offered us a complementary dish next time we dine there. They were very busy and I’m sure they pre-cook a lot of the food. But that’s not a good way to do it. When people pay decent money for their dinner they would like it to be cooked fresh and hot for them. The portion size…noticeably smaller than in the past. You don’t get nearly as much food as before! Come on,Wong’s, don’t decrease your portion sizes. Raise your prices a dollar instead. Hopefully, Dave Wong’s will handle this issue because they have a reputation to uphold.

This place has gone down hill. I used to go here all the time have not been since 2015 almost 10 years. The service was slow. The food was ok but not how I remember. The atmosphere just seemed eh. Seems like they have got complacent and things are slipping through the cracks.

I finally gave this place a chance. I got 2 plates and an appetizer. The Mongolian beef really was off, tasted sour, and the crab Rangoon was very bland. Even my friends noodles were overcooked and hard. This place is a bit pricey and seems to appear as high end but in reality I was not very impressed. Really I would say below par for the most part. 50 dollars after everything and at the price point and the food quality I'd say theirs better places to try.

This place is alright. Ordered fried Calamari, Chili Seafood and my partner ordered the Chow Mien. The waiter gave me some problems when I asked for the Chili Seafood because he insinuated that I would not like the dish and that it will be too spicy. I asked for very spicy and when he brought it out, it wasn’t spicy as he was making it out to be. It was almost like he didn’t want me to order it. Good environment and curtain rooms. Ps. Order what you want because your the one who has to pay!

The deli was ok. The combo #1 $7.95 pork fried rice & 2 pieces of fried chicken. Flavors are there. Not a fan of pork fried rice. The garlic chicken or as I see it fried chicken was ok. It was juicy but kind of fatty side of things. Fried rice portion was small, but 2 pieces of chicken in that small container was filling. I asked Google and it spat out results of $6.75 beef broccoli with rice. That wasn't true. But I stopped in and the food was decent. Not great due to size portion but not a bad lunch price. Bring your own drinks because the price for a drink is $2.87 or something close to that.

Went here for lunch last week (take-out). Someone once brought them to me and it was so good. I had the same - foiled wrapped chicken with pork chow mein. However, the food was over salted I was unable to eat. I get so sad when a restaurant is inconsistent with the taste as I learn to not trust them or tend to go back. I hope to be able to return and hope it was a one time error. We will see.

Decided to try this place since I got a recommendation from a family member, but I have to say we came out pretty dissatisfied and disappointed. Service was great though, waiters were friendly and attentive. But wouldn't go back a second time. About half of the items we got we did not like. Flavor wasn't great, it was just okay. Its pretty overpriced for the quality of food. I think next time I'd rather just got to my local Chinese place. I wouldn't recommend this place to others when it comes to quality and taste of food. Service and atmosphere is pretty nice though can't say anything bad about that.

They should change the name from Dave Wong's to the greasy spoon, if you like greasy chicken this is place for you.

Service is great, the waiter kept coming back to refill teapot for us. Ambience is great. We had a large party for lunch but they got us a semi private table with curtains on the side to be a little more private. Food is ok, taste is not that great compared to authentic Chinese restaurant, but the lunch portion is very generous. The price is definitely very decent. Wake up call! After all of the goods things I hear on social media about this place, my wife and I finally decided to try it. We were sat quickly and the overal exterior and interior of the restaurant is very nice and modern. We started out with an order of potstickers. $11 for 6 small ones. They were bland and devoid of flavor. Plus the restaurant doesn’t even offer hot chili oil and vinegar for them! Those are both Chinese staples and should be on every table! We both ordered the lunch specials. My wife ordered the choose your own combo of Garlic fried chicken and paper wrapped chicken with pork fried rice and I ordered the Sichuan chicken with pork fried rice. Both were ample portions of food (good) and both combos were bland and without any type of Chinese food taste (bad). Seriously, Panda Express tasted better. No hint of garlic or ginger in any of the dishes and mall food court Chinese restaurants seemed like a five star cuisine compared to this bland and tasteless food. One thing that was good was the staff seemed busy and were normally available. However, they did not seem happy and never smiled. Probably because they are forced to eat here for their meal breaks. I have eaten at a ton of Chinese restaurants all over and this one is way down towards the bottom for taste and texture. I have no idea how they have won area awards. I guess this is the only Chinese restaurant in Stockton? Bottom line is go somewhere else and don’t waste your time with this place unless you just like to look at Chinese artwork.

Chow main could have WAY more flavor, very bland. 5/10 Foil chicken was a 2.5inchx2.5inch piece of chicken wrapped in foil. Was flavorful but too small and was not cooked ALL the way. Please see picture for “almond chicken”, idk what this is but this isn’t anything flavored chicken. This is a salad with chicken and almonds in it.

This is a second rate Chinese restaurant. Food while take out is worse than Panda Express and prices are way to expensive for the quality food. If you are simply looking for filler bland Chinese then this is the place for you. If you “think” this is good Chinese cuisine then you need too get out of the area.Food was edible but quality is second rate, basically over cooked, high fat, high sodium, high carbs and low protein count. I would not recommend visitors eating here and inform locals that your are getting poor quality food.

I was in Stockton for work and tried a restaurant close to the hotel. First disappointed is that the prices online are about 30% cheaper than in person. Unfortunately, it's the worst Chinese food I've ever had. I had the crab rangoons and the combo platter #2. I'm from Indianapolis, and these were the worst that I've ever had. The rest of the food was pure sadness. I have no idea why this place is popular. The one good thing was the service. Quick, polite, friendly.

I could have went to China Gourmet or Hong Kong here in modesto to get the same quality. The food isn't terrible but it's far from a 4 star review. The one thing that was excellent was the lemon chicken. That's the only reason I can't give a 1 star overall review. Hospitality is great and the restaurant itself is very nice. The quality of the food is nowhere near the price tag though.

Tid bits app completely devoid of any flavor. S&S sauce is terrible -clear color with strong vinegar. BBQ Pork was off, fried green beans had no taste, and rangoons lack of crispness and flavor. Waste of money. Mu shu pork isn't on the menu. But they will make it, and it's OK. Also garlic fried chicken is ok. Mongolian beef isn't. While the beef is very tender, the sauce is not even remotely hot. This dish is a saucy ginger or oyster beef- without the ginger. If you love MB don't order this. The chicken fried rice & house chowmein tasted old. I would put $ on them going over to the deli side and scooping them out of a vat that's been sitting there for hours. While the service was very good. It is basically 3 entrees, 2 sides, an app, and one soda - Over $100 w/tip. Sadly I was thinking for that price I could get 3 feasts over at Panda, and would have way more food and better quality ingredients......

Ok. Been awhile sence we tried this place. We gotta tell you we will not be trying again. Ever since the family sold out to a corporation the quality has gone down but prices went up. I think Panda…

Absolutely ridiculous... For take out Chinese food, n it taste just like any other one is absolutely Ridiculous.. 106 dollars... Never again.

I was trying to place an order for take out, but for some reason the lady was having an attitude with me, which is very upsetting because I really enjoy the food, just the service provided was awful, whatever that lady is going through, I hope she feels better. And please if anybody is going through something dont take it out on customers. your just ruining the buisness and other peoples days. And yes I decided not to get food from this place, and I'm not ever again the way I was awfully treated.

The worst experience I've ever had! 20 years ago they were the best of the best. They don't care anymore, we did take out and spent 130$!!!!! The only thing good we got was the BBQ pork. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!! total waste of money sadly. And the food ended up in the garbage, 130 down the drain

Been coming here for the last 10 years. Ain’t what it used to be. Quality ain’t the same no more. Also, higher prices and smaller portions now too.

On 8/3we decided to try the food at the deli. The place was very clean and the food smelled delicious. That was about the only thing good so far. The pork and shrimp fried rice was awful. Short grain rice that was bland. 😡 The garlic chicken was over cooked and had no taste no seasoning just a lot of tasteless breading. The only thing that was worthwhile that I had was the egg rolls. They were delicious, the best I have ever eaten so far.

Loud and the order takers said they don’t speak the language on their menu- so I got something different. Oily and poor quality vegetarian dishes of rice an noodles - why?

We have been customers of Dave Wong,s for years. We decided to dine here on the way home to Lodi from the Bay Area on Monday evening August 11, 2025. We ordered BBQ Pork Chow Mein and Sweet and Sour Pork. The Chow Mein had way too much vinegar and the Sweet and Sour Pork was very tough like it was old food from the day before. We took the leftovers home but ended up throwing them away. This is the first time we’ve ever thrown away Dave Wongs leftovers. Not good! Dave Wong’s needs a different cook on Mondays!

The customer service is horrible, food is good but the employees are so rude, very unprofessional and most times I can’t understand what they are saying, the prices on the deli are ridiculous expensive too..

Portions are extremely small and the price is pretty high for the quality $80 dollars worth of food will feed 3 people comfortably. Chowmain order comes in a 4x2 tray it that and the order of fried rice even smaller it really made me laugh on how small the portioned were look at the sauce pack next to the tray. Legit ridiculous

Today I ordered a couple wonton soups. There was a fly in my soup, I immediately returned to the restaurant for a refund and asked for a complimentary gift card for the inconvenience. The lady told me okay, someone from the back had to do the gift cards. I said that’s fine. Waited 10 minutes for them to wait til the lobby cleared and they refused to give me a gift card. After arguing for another 5 minutes they granted me “credit” under my phone number for ONE soup. I will never be eating here again due to disrespect period. If I ate the soup and became sick then what? Maybe keep the front door closed, flys coming in and out daily. Enjoy !

This pains me because up until tonight we've got decent food from this place. But, my wife and a friend of hers decided to have dinner. It was her friend's birthday so it seem like a wise thing to do well established restaurant in town. But the wait staff was rude as they were trying to get their attention because the food wasn't what they ordered and my wife's food was cold there were five waiters walking around ignoring them and when they did finally pay attention all they did was argue with my wife and her friend. So, I do not recommend this place damn shame.

This place is not what it used to be. The service is lacking. I asked her a very basic question because my son wanted teriyaki chicken and asked her if she had something comparable and she got an attitude and started yelling in her language and walked away from me. After that, another worker had to come and check me out. The chow mein had so much onion in it, & there was very little noodle. The last few times we’ve ate here I haven’t been impressed so this will be our last time. When I return to work, I told my coworkers what I ate for lunch and they all agreed that they don’t eat there anymore because it’s not what it used to be. Sucks because I don’t know any good places in Stockton for Chinese anymore.

I've lived in Stockton most my life and have never dined in. On Monday, my hubby suggested we order from the Deli section. HUGE mistake. The "Cantonese dinner for 2" came in these teeny containers that could definitely not feed two people. We ordered the sweet and sour pork- meat was extremely questionable. The almond chicken? Looked raw. I wouldn't even feed that to my dog. The garlic chicken was ok but hella greasy. Will never understand why this place tends to be so busy. Perhaps I ordered the wrong thing? Or the deli cooks differently? Idk. Best believe I won't waste my money here again.
