Delicious Chinese breakfast with bakery items and drinks. Have had many of the many items and have enjoyed them all. Definitely make it a point to come at least one morning when we stay in the area. It can get busy on some mornings but usually is not a problem. They bring out the food as it's ready, so each person gets their food fresh, instead of all at once. Servers are attentive and clarify to make sure they get the order perfect so there is no problem when the food arrives.

This particular location of JJ Bakery in Temple City has a huge Cafe area and this review will be focusing on the experience for the weekend breakfast menu served at the Cafe area. Wow, the menu is quite extensive! However, serving size is definitely Asian, so I was pretty much able to order one of everything and finished it all. Everything from salty soybean milk, fried crullers, and even the pork breakfast burger was done to perfection. During our visit, there was even a yam porridge special that came with an entire platter of porridge side dishes. Since we've visited right as the cafe opened, the crowd only began to show up as we were wrapping up. I can definitely foresee long waits especially later in the morning. Now that JJ Bakery has centralized their operations, all the baked good are standard across the various locations. It’s all just your typical well done Asian baked goods.

The store is stocked with a large variety of cakes, bread, danishes, boxed bentos, etc., at very reasonable prices, all very neatly packaged. The danishes and Chinese baos were all tasty and beautifully crafted.

The baked goods are so good! Classic Chinese-American bakery experience complete with trays. The cakes were OK but the breads and pastries are delish. I plan to return many times!

These cake delicious, taro red bean pudding cake. Not too sweet and plenty fruit. It's just the cream leave weird feeling on mouth.

Cakes 🍰 are made to perfection looking really cute and good as a gift for my upscale friends, am not to crazy for the taste therefore I felt bit pricey, the bentos 🍱 are good for the price but not to crazy about the taste either.

Ordered a Strawberry Cream Brulee on 2/21/2022 . The Strawberries on top of cake was not fresh. Overall the cake was delicious.

I never knew a traditional Taiwanese salted rice ball 鹹飯糰can taste this bad! I don’t think the merchant or their chef put in efforts to make a simple food tasting… 油條 aka deep-fried dough sticks inside of the rice ball is absorbed with oil and it’s definitely not a fresh!! Not to mention it’s not cheap too…🤦‍♀️

We ordered lots of bread and mochi and this staff was squeezing it all in “1 bag.” My partner kindly asked for an extra bag before the already paid products were flattened and mochis stick all over(what’s the point then🤷🏻‍♂️) It wasn’t busy or does it ever get to justify their action. These 2 staffs instead grabbed the extra bag heavy handed and considerably dropped the bags in front of us with attitudes😳 I don’t give reviews at all or have time to care for it but what happened yesterday was really disappointing and gives very bad atmosphere to society if being tolerated

I’ve been to plenty of these bakeries and tea shops and never experienced not being able eat what you’ve purchased from an establishment.

The cashier for the restaurant section whom is an old lady was very rude. She does not wear glasses, has red hair and wear it in a pony tail under a black cap. I came in today not knowing apparently they don't operate until 4:30, so I just stood at the cashier waiting to order. She was on her phone sitting down at the table second to last to the corner close to the kitchen at 3:30 pm. Look at the camera and you will see who I'm talking about. She looked up and said "we don't service until 4:30" very coldly. I responded in surprise obviously cause this is such a strange hour and said "eh?" And then she sarcastically mocked me and said "eh what, eh. We don't operate until 4:30 you heard me" then I said "is that so?" She then mocked me AGAIN and exaggerated my tone of voice to repeat what I said "is that so... yea duh." All this happened in Chinese which is the only language she can speak. Extremely unprofessional and unacceptable, this old lady obviously gotten too comfortable at her seniority and think she owns the place and can treat people however she wants. She desperately needs a retraining as to how to provide BASIC DECENT service. I don't even need to be treated like a royalty, but talking to me like I'm your son or student is not how you even treat people normally if you're a half-way respectable person. This shows what kind of character she is and it is pathetic.
