Mi Cocina is a beautiful restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. You can tell a lot of thought went into the decor and the recipes. To start, we had the white queso with ground beef and it was delicious. I ordered the enchilada dinner with ground beef and cheese enchiladas with chili con carne and queso sauces on top. The chili con carne paired well with the cheese enchiladas. Mrs. Flip Out tried the Tacos “De Brisket” and she said it was really delicious; the brisket was very tender, had excellent flavor, and the salsa had a smoky but citrusy freshness. Little Flip Out liked his taco plate. We really enjoyed our experience here and think you will enjoy it, too.

My family and I had dinner at this Mi Cocina location last night and had an absolutely lovely experience. Our food was fantastic, the chicken fajitas were an absolute standout of the night as well as the Mambo taxi. Both of which were recommended to us by our server Jillian who was exceptionally friendly and attentive to us. She was a superstar being very patient while we indecisively looked through the menu and helping us with great recommendations. Overall she helped make us feel very welcome and made the night one to remember!

My cousins and I really enjoyed our food, even though they ran out of strawberries for my drinks and Spanish rice lol. The replacement rice was still good. Tilapia Vera Cruz was really awesome. I loved the smokey flavor in the fish. And the grilled veggies on the side were awesome. The food, the overall experience and the ambiance was indeed great. I wouldn't say it's an inexpensive restaurant but conpared to the quality of food and the money spent, it was worth it. For Saturday night crowd we had to wait for about 10 minutes. But we liked the waiting too.

We went to Mi Cocina and sat on the patio to enjoy the nice weather. The food was tasty and our server, Lance, was very nice and attentive and even gave us chips and salsa to take home with our leftovers. I love mi Cocina and this location was no exception!

I came into Mi Cocina tonight and had an amazing experience. My child has several allergies, and one of the managers—Saul, I believe—went above and beyond to accommodate every need we had. He offered us plenty of options despite the restrictions and even helped my wife choose some drinks. He suggested their famous Mambo Taxi, which was absolutely delicious—10 out of 10. We’ll definitely be coming back!

While visiting Texas my spouse and I stopped by so I could try tex mex for the first time. We walked in and the ambiance had me thinking we were walking into a fine dining establishment which I was woefully underdressed for. Our server Luis was extremely attentive, the food has perfect portions it’s plenty of food. For the quality of food you wouldn’t have guessed it was so affordable. We recommend the MiCo burrito and the ceviche de camarones to start. Next time these Californians come to Texas I know where we’re stopping first.

My husband and I absolutely LOVE Mi Cocina. It is our go to date night restaurant and one of our things is to try a different location each time :) This location is in our top 5 favorite. My husband and I are both in hospitality management and this location happens to be next to both of our hotels. With that being said, since we love Mi Cocina. We always recommend this location to our guests. Anytime anyone asks me what a good place to eat is, I immediately without hesitation direct them here and 9 times out of 10. Guests do go and come back telling me how much they loved it. My husband decided to go in and order a meal to go to surprise me at work for my birthday and oh my goodness. The food was extra flavorful here. This has been by far, the best Mi Cocina Beef Fajitas that I've ever had. He also noted that he was impressed with the customer service and how attentive the staff was which is a big deal to us. We are going in person this upcoming weekend for a dine in date and I cannot wait!!!! My lovely bride and I joined our friends for lunch on Sunday at the Nebraska Furniture Drive location in The Colony. We were all very impressed and pleased with the food and the atmosphere. But by far the best part of the experience was the service! Our waiter was a delightful young man named George J. He was friendly and always "Johnny-on-the-spot" with anything we needed. He was funny, had a fantastic attitude, and looked like he truly enjoyed serving us. We feel this is a direct result of the management, so we asked to speak with his manager, Roger. My suspicions were correct! Roger is exceptionally customer experience oriented and drives that attitude in a manner that filters down through the staff. If you find yourself near the Nebraska Furniture Mart area in Frisco / The Colony, do yourself a favor and drop in for some great food and even better service.

We went here for a Sunday afternoon late lunch. It was pretty crowded but walked in for a table for two. No reservations but were seated right away. The waiter came over promptly to take drink orders and another server came with chips and salsa. The waiter took our food order right after he brought our drinks. I had the beef taco salad with ranch dressing and my daughter had the beef enchiladas. The food came quickly also. It all smelled and tasted as good as it looked. 😋 We had two managers in addition to the wait staff to visit the table on rotation to check on us making sure everything was to our liking and that we didn’t need anything else. I have been to a few of the Mi Cocina locations in Dallas and it is a good spot for Mexican food across the board - the menu attempts to be a bit upscale from your standard tex-mex fare. It is very good but one this visit, the ingredients did not seem as fresh as during other visits. Also our entrees were served cold and had to be reheated. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is very classy. The facilities definitely have the feel of a five star dining establishment, very well designed and outfitted.

The food is excellent, offering a diverse menu at reasonable prices. The variety is impressive, and their chips are a personal favorite. However, my only complaint is that while we were still on the patio enjoying dinner, they turned off the heater. It would have been better if they had waited for us to finish our meal before doing so.

The food here was good, the service was not. I ran out of water and tea 2 times each. The third refill never came even though he told me he would be right back with it. I truly hate to run out of my tea while eating.

So as it turns out, when you get a doggie bag, it comes with chips and salsa to take home! A coworker and I ate dinner here last night and really enjoyed it! We ordered the queso blanco to go with the complimentary chips and salsa. It was good. I’m not a huge fan of the thick tortilla chips as I prefer the thinner ones, and that’s the reason I can’t give them a full 5 stars, so 4.5 it is! We also ordered the gulf shrimp ceviche, which was refreshing, light and full of flavor. Again, it came with thick tortilla rounds which seemed “too heavy” for the ceviche, so ended up just eating most of it without an edible vehicle to the mouth. 😅 For dinner we split the Tacos Brisket. The brisket was cooked to perfection! Juicy, tender and full of flavor. We had one flour tortilla and 2 corn. The corn tortillas for the tacos were much better balanced than the chips and rounds. The accompanying rice and avocado salad were good as well. I had a glass of sangria which was delicious! Overall, we really enjoyed the food and service. I would recommend checking this place out if you’re in the Plano, Texas area. Nice little Tex-Mex spot for a delicious meal. Lots of food for a more than reasonable price.

Mi Cocina is a Mexican restaurant known for its authentic Mexican food. Being indian I am not aware of Mexican food items. I ordered items with the help of my relatives. Being vegetarian, we had very few options. However we enjoyed the food. Ambience is very neat and clean. Service was very cordial.

The waiter knew what she was talking about - she informed us upfront that their rice has chicken stock and the refried beans were vegetarian. The fajitas and the veggie quesadillas were loaded with vegetables and tasted great. The desert menu only had flan and tres leches. The ambience was great. Lots of ppl, yet it felt cozy in our nook.

Drinks not good, food, not very good. The fajitas were completely undercooked and had no grill marks or anything blackened. If fajitas look like boiled chicken. Dude came by to ask me how everything was and my wife said it was OK and he started to walk away and I said actually… Not that good. But we were starving so we ate most of it anyway. I guess they were just rushing to get the food out or the quality is gone way down. Not $100 meal. Definitely will not be back. Rosa’s is way better.

The food was great, My family and I went yesterday and I'm barely now eating the leftovers because I was so full! I start eating my taco with rice and I bite down on something hard thinking that it would eventually crumble so I can eat it, it but the more that I move it around the more it hurts my tooth, so I realize this can't be a tough piece of rice. I pull it out to see what it was, it's a piece of staple. I'm 8 months pregnant and if I swallowed that I just know I was going to lead to something horrible. I looked around the box to see if there's any Staples on their to-go boxes but there isn't. So I'm not sure how a staple would have gotten into the rice. I am pretty upset because we took our 5-year-old yesterday and who knows if she has digested anything similar.

The food was good, and drinks were weak. I think they forgot the alcohol in the cocktail. The atmosphere was nice on the patio. Service was good until we realized they tried to bill us for food we didn't eat.

Wait time on sat evening was around 40 minutes(We went there at 6m). Food is tasty. But we had to wait long for everything. 15 minutes wait with no chips just for drinks and food was not so pleasant. We were a group of 4 kids and 4 adults so we were busy chit chatting but addition chips would have been appreciated for sure. The server said he would get us another serving of chips and salsa but he never got one. There was minimal interaction of server with us. Basically found him very unfriendly. No smile. Overall the ambience of the place is good but I did not appreciate the service. Food portion size is good. Tilapia was burnt lil. You can see in picture blackened tilapia more on sides. But it tasted well(removed the sides). Bills around $80 for 2 adults and 2 kids with 1 kids menu and 3 regular menu orders.

Wasn't all that impressed and probably won't be a restaurant I choose to go back to. Rice tasted like it came from a package and the beans were blah. Presentation was great. It took well over 30 minutes for the food, never got the extra napkins we asked for and my iced tea had no ice. She kept refilling it and never thought to ask if I wanted more ice. If I going to spend my money on pricey food, I will find another one to spend it at.

We had the fajitas and they were very tough we had the steak fajitas. Waitress was a little overwhelmed we went after the lunch rush got there about 1:30 p.m. on a Saturday she was not very nice and forgot a lot of things on the order. We did have a table of 10. I asked her twice to bring us spicier hot sauce never did get it among other things that were asked by the table.

My first experience with my wife and friends wasn’t great- granted the restaurant was busy when we arrived (3:00pm). There was one person ahead of us at the host station and we were not greeted nor acknowledged even when it was our turn. I made eye contact several times with the host and the other staff member she was talking to but still no welcome or acknowledgement at all until I approached directly and said we are meeting a group named “X.” The host then shows us a table near the bar so we had to repeat again that we were MEETING A GROUP NAMED “X.” She then there’s no groups by that name and shows us the party room to which our group wasn’t there. She then takes us around the restaurant awkwardly until our friend waves us over. The host then walks away without another word. Our server though was nice though very rushy rushy. I got the crispy chicken Verne enchiladas- a very bad choice that I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. The “enchiladas” looked more like flautas that had a sour taste, poor flavor and way too hard- yes I know it’s supposed to be crunchy but this hurt my teeth after! Hardly worth the $15 (see pics). The complimentary tortilla chips and salsa were your basic average store bought chips and salsa. The atmosphere was nice and clean and looked new though the music was too loud. All and all, I’d rather go somewhere else for Tex-Mex.

I paid $25 for this and extra sauce guacamole everything and nothing came besides this. The girl on the phone acted as if she didn’t speak English so I spoke Spanish and again she acted as if she didn’t speak that either and put me on hold for 5 minutes never to come back. So I ordered online and this is what was given to me. I also don’t live in Texas so im not sure if all potions here are like this but I’ve recieved better portions and FOOD AND SERVICE in other places around here 👌 Also if you have gastric bypass or anything do not come here whatever they put in the meat or chicken or whatever it was is NOT gastric bypass friendly even if it seems light!

[Quick Edit] The fish tacos made me super sick. We won't be visiting again. While I enjoyed the experience, this restaurant had better decor than food. The music and the staff were nice. However, the Taco de Pescado was bland, and the salsa it came with it was underwhelming. I ended up being rather jealous of my husband's Tacos Habana, which were much more flavorful and had a salsa that paired well with the meat. The Cane Sugar Dr. Pepper was a fun addition. It was nice to have a kids' menu that had a larger selection than most and gave some good options. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience and we may be back to give it a second chance.
