My best friend took me here when I learned my parents were getting divorced, and I gotta say, there was probably nothing better he could've done for me. The service was phenomenal and the food was absolutely scrumptious. Prices of rolls, appetizers, main courses, etc are very competitive, so it would be hard for anyone to find tastier food for a similar price.

Best sushi in TO and all of Ventura County! This includes Parts of LA county. They have experienced chefs and always fresh choices of fish. They are professional and have reasonable prices with great menu items. The happy hour is great for drinks and a budget.

Minato Sushi is the best sushi in Thousand Oaks. You always get great service and great food. The rolls are served with huge portions so make sure you are very hungry when you order a variety. Minato doesn't disappoint. Lastly, the new online ordering process works great if you want to take home sushi for a date night in or the whole family.

The prices seemed high, but man, they cut the biggest pieces of sushi! It's actually a way better value here. Everything was delicious and they gave me free fountain drinks / edamame while I waited for my order. Great place!

My wife and I went with friends to Minato Sushi on a Saturday night and we arrived hungry! We were able to get a table very quickly. The restaurant had a nice ambiance and had a small sushi bar seating area. The staff gave exceptional service and were very attentive. The food was very tasty and came out extremely fast. We enjoyed the gyoza, which tasted great with a complementary dipping sauce. The garlic edamame was very different than we have ever tried with roasted garlic pieces. The sushi was well prepared and all the food was very filling. The food is reasonable priced for sushi and a great value for the quality of the food. I would definitely recommend eating at Minato Sushi for the great service, quick food to your table after ordering & bang for your buck!

Service was kind, efficient, and present without ever being intrusive; we think we could tell who the owner of the restaurant was by her presence as she maintained a disciplined staff and a tight house, and still made time to touch tables. The whole evening was a top-tier experience, with the exception of calamari, which we thought would be fried, though this might be an issue of preference. Visiting this restaurant will hopefully become a tradition for us each year.

We love Minato. Tonight we went for my daughter’s birthday, with a group of nine. Everything was delicious as usual and the staff is so friendly and sweet. We order take out from here every week or so and our order is always ready quickly and with no errors. They also have great lunch specials. $15 for a roll, miso and four pieces of sushi! 🍣

Decently good value for this no-nonsense location. The lunch specials/bento is excellently selective to offer you a variety to fill up with. Under $20 will fulfill quite a large appetite. Their spicy tuna roll is elegantly done and probably designed for their patrons. Nigiri is fresh, but may seem a bit thin compared to other places. The tempera is also nicely done. Light and delicious.

The food is great & the staff is quick to provide service. However I did feel rushed to get the check while eating & the food items were expensive in comparison to other sushi places I've been to. Over all the food is great the experience not as much. The menu is also very large & many things could be better categorized.

I stopped by for a business lunch at Minato Sushi and wasn't disappointed. The place was clean, decorated nicely and the staff was extremely attentive. I had the chicken teriyaki plate and everything was fresh and delicious. My colleagues had rolls and a sushi salad and very much enjoyed. I will be back!

Quite good. The miso soup is actually a standout. Flavorful and not too salty. A target almost every other Japanese restaurant misses. The food itself is very solid and the service very, very good.

We've been here a few times. Tonight they were very busy. We ordered a plate that had quite a bit of meat and sauce. There was way too much sauce, and the meat was not fresh, so we had to refuse it. Their Bento Box was very fresh. The cooked salmon and lobster roll were both excellent! We'll be back again! 😊

This is thousands of oaks.. not Kyoto.. granted we had no history here, I am sure it is great for this location. Service ignored us often as in more than once.. it was busy but our table was dead center..a plate was missed, we never got checked, so no second round of drinks for us, made us leave with no offers....more filler mushrooms than needed. Rolls were tasty but tempura not pretty, small and soggy. Oh well, good luck, many people do not know better so enjoy and succeed.

Well, guess I'm adding another one to my list of restaurants I won't be going back to. Most every staff were decent, but there was a youngish one with an attitude. Kinda barking at you rather than being gentle and courteous. Maybe she had a bad day. Maybe she always has bad days. I don't know, but she should look for a different profession. Sorry for the rant. I don't usually talk about the wait staff unless I have something nice to say. But this young one ruined our dinner and we just wanted to pay the bill and get out.

The sushi roll was really good but I went to open my garlic edamame and it was all burnt, it smells horrible.

This place has gone downhill lately. Service is short and inconsistent even after a 20 minute wait for seating. Fish quality is significantly down. The salmon was tough and flavorless, and the mackerel bordered on tasting dangerous. Presentation is good, and the place seems to be popular. I know they won’t miss my business, but I won’t be coming back after my last meal here. I explained this to the waitstaff politely, and they waived my salmon, which was a nice gesture. But I don’t see myself enjoying any meals here in the near or distant future.

Very disappointing. Yellowtail was off, sent back. Rice didn't hold together on ay sushi or rolls, Shrimp was mushy, sent back. cannot recommend.

Ordered a chicken teriyaki bowl. Came with 1 spoon full of rice and all veggies. Barley any chicken. Smh

Years ago we used to come here but I don’t know what happened. We went tonight and some of the rolls seemed fresh but the salmon skin salad was terrible & seemed like a week old. Very tasteless, gummy & inedible. The customer service is very good but I hope they aren’t using low quality ingredients because of pandemic. I was really sad and disappointed in the meal tonight ☹️
