Authentical Mexican food served by great people. We sat at the bar and had a lot of fun and delicious food together with a margarita! Definitely a recommendation! Loved the Chimichanga.
Nice, quiet local establishment. Food is always fresh and delicious. Good family environment ❤️
We were welcomed and sat quickly. Took a little time to get our order taken, but the food came out hot and delicious. Drinks were good with comparable pricing. The bartender, she was very good and seemed to run the bar on her own, impressive for how busy it was. All staff was attentive and nice. Would strongly suggest the quesadilla fajita style. But everything was yummy.
Food was great, our service was great, and the place was clean. We even sat next to Santa. The young lady who was bartending that was our server (from Maryland) I forget her name was AWESOME! Very hospitable to us as this was our first time in Cali and the first restaurant we ate at in Cali.
If you’re on the hunt for authentic, delicious, and straight-up unforgettable Mexican food in California — look no further. This spot is the real deal. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth, smiles, and the kind of hospitality that makes you feel like you’re dining at a close friend’s house (the friend who can really cook). Let’s talk food: • The margaritas are hands-down the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly balanced, not too sweet, not too sour — just dangerously smooth. • The burritos? Massive, stuffed with flavor, and wrapped so tightly they could survive a road trip. • The chimichangas are golden, crisp, and generously filled — chef’s kiss. • And don’t even get me started on the soup — it’s like your abuela made it with love and a hint of magic. Now, for the real MVP of our visit: CJ. If you’re lucky enough to sit in his section, you’re in for an experience. CJ doesn’t just serve — he elevates. Attentive, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, he went above and beyond to make sure our night was perfect. Seriously, ask for CJ by name. You’ll thank me later. ✨ Great food, over-the-top service, and CJ? This place isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a reason to celebrate. Can’t wait to come back!
Went after hiking at Joshua Tree. It was close to their closing time but they welcomed us in with no hesitation. They provided complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa had a great taste and a little spice to it! I got an enchilada and taco meal and the enchilada was my favorite! The staff was very friendly and accommodating!
As a complementary they served chips and salsa. We ordered combo (beef & chicken) meat fajitas and taco salad. We loved the taste of fajitas but taco salad was a disappointment. It’s more like canned tuna mixed with salad dressings. Overall environment and staff were friendly and happening. Though serving was slow, we didn’t get bored.
Had real quick service at the tail end of the dinner rush. Servers coordinated real well with one another when it came to drinks, food and checks. Tables are spaced out comfortably which I found nice. Parking is available in the back, there is also street parking if needed. Food was really good. Would return and recommend to try them out.
We arrived late afternoon and the place was quiet. There was only a single waitress covering the bar and dining area. She totally rocked it. Great service! The food was mediocre. The fajita was good , but the rice was bland and stale. The beans were runny. They were out of fish and the chicken in the tocos was tasteless. We didn’t say anything because the waitress was so awesome. We’ll try it again. Cooks can have bad days.🤷🏼♀️
It's a decent little tex Mex restaurant. The variety was pretty standard. The meat seemed a bit dry. The margarita was reasonably priced. It sat near the window and was hot the entire time. They should also wipe down the menus. It's kinda odd when im looking at food and there's specs of someone else's food on the page.
Best place for Tex-mex while in Twenty Nine Palms, CA visiting Joshua Tree National Park. Large menu of a multitude of choices - appetizers, soups/salads, combo plates, fajita combinations. Every possible choice you can think up. Service is great and they’ll alert a menu item to meet your request. Large restaurant with plenty of seating and spread out so not sitting tooclose. Handles large groups easily. Quick service and fresh food with large portions. Great prices, won’t break the bank. Great bar area as well. Check it out.
We ended up in this town and restaurant during out trip. While the service was okay, the food, portion sizes, and pricing truly stood out. Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted by a friendly host who promptly seated me. The service, while not exceptional, was decent. The staff members were polite and attentive, ensuring that my needs were met throughout my meal but they were just slow. Now, let's talk about the main highlight: the food. The menu offered a wide range of authentic Mexican dishes, and I was impressed by the variety of options available, however, limited veggie options. The food itself was delicious and packed with flavor with big portion. The ingredients were fresh, and the flavors were well-balanced, leaving me wanting more with each bite. One aspect that truly impressed me was the portion sizes. The restaurant definitely believes in providing value for money, as the servings were generous. Whether you have a hearty appetite or prefer to share with a friend, you'll be satisfied with the portion sizes offered here. Speaking of value for money, the pricing at this Mexican restaurant was reasonable. Considering the quality and quantity of the food, I found the prices to be quite fair. It's refreshing to find a place that offers delicious cuisine without breaking the bank. Overall, while the service at this Mexican restaurant may not have been exceptional, the food, portion sizes, and reasonable pricing more than made up for it. If you're looking for a satisfying dining experience with authentic Mexican flavors, I would definitely recommend giving this place a try.
Thr chicken burrito was very large but there was no flavor at all. Chicken was boiled and had a bland taste. Queso dip tasted like it was from a large can. Margaritas were good.
One small basket of chips. Salsa was spicy and thin, not a thick salsa. Beans and rice were very bland. Tostada was thick shredded beaf, not crispy at all, no tomatoes or onions, very bland. No my kind of Mexican food.
We were seated and waited on right away which was great. The first basket of chips and salsa are complimentary. Chips were okay, but the salsa was disappointing. To us, it tasted like salsa out of a jar and not fresh restaurant style salsa. We ordered nachos and burritos. Both tasted okay. The prices are reasonable, atmosphere is nice, service good, lots of potential, but food was lacking. Maybe if they rework some of the recipes we’d try it again.
Despite a few bad reviews we picked this restaurant over others nearby because we wanted margaritas. It was a poor choice. I had a bland and extremely watery Chile Verde. My wife had $21 beef fajitas that had very little beef. And the $14 dollar margaritas were weak and essentially tasted of margarita mix. The service was good though. Waitress was friendly and food came out quick. She was even apologetic and brought out additional meat when we showed her how little beef was in the beef fajitas. In summary. If you decide to come here for decent margaritas, you'll be disappointed. If you come for good food, you'll be disappointed. Basically, you'll be disappointed.
Average tasting Mexican American food, massive margaritas & daiquiri drinks, but the service was poor. The server did not ask us how our food tasted, we had to ask for a To Go box twice and never got it. The person I was with went and got me one. The Grande Toastado was supposed to come with black olives and salsa per the menu and it did not come with it when it arrived at our table. That's false advertising. We asked our server & she said they don't make it like that anymore. Even though the menu stated that it does! Not cool. Also, they were really not that busy, it's a Wednesday.
They should be ashamed on serving almosr spoiled refried beans, the rice was getting there as well and the worse were chili rellenos....it wasn't stuffed with cheese, it looked like a flour based, maybe tryin to make it look like cheese. So disappointed, this was 2nd time i went, and I should hv known 1st time, food was not good but this time i went bcz I was invited.
Good afternoon Today is the first time I go to this place I heard a lot of good things about it food was amazing but the service was very bad Shebly the name of the server I only saw her when I placed the order and after I asked for spoon and napkins she gave me that then she never asked me how is your food? Would you need anything else? Clearly she has issue with her manger CJ she changed to the worst after he came finally she yelled at me from distance and asked me do you need your check just because I looked at her then her manager CJ told her you don't need to yell at him like this then she told her manager shhhhh? Anyway I give credit for CJ the manger he listened to me and I told him how I feel about the bad experience and she expects me to tip her with this bad customer service? If she talks to her manager like this in front of customers how do you think she talks to him if there is no customers respect is the key All what I am expecting to eat and have a nice service is there something wrong with that? Is that high expectation? Maybe I am a little sensitive but I work as waiter before and I know treats all kind with respect weather they tip you $0 or $100 Because it doesn't matter if you have tables have 10 people or you have table with only 1 person you never know who will tip you higher ? Please balance between dealing with your manager and dealing with your customer have a blessed day we all have bad days but we all have to learn how to balance
Updated May 2025: I would give zero stars if I could but because of their good customer service one star suffices but the food has gotten way worse. Went with my girlfriend Friday night at 530pm weekend of Mother’s Day. We ordered the sweet habanero wings and shrimp fajitas. My girlfriend took one bite of the wings and immediately started to turn red and throw up. They took off the fajitas and I took off right away. I should have refused to pay for the wings!! No exaggerations here! We ended up in the ER and stayed until midnight. I do not recommend and I will never return! November 2022: First time visiting. Went on a Thursday evening around 6pm with a group of friends. It was busy when we arrived but we were immediately seated. It took a long time for our server to come but once she did it she had a smile on her face & that made us feel a bit more at ease. We all ordered different things and we agree that the food was mediocre at best but the drinks were delicious. I definitely recommend the drinks here & I will return. March 2023: went back and my 3stars remain. Drinks are good. Food not so much.
