*Note that I rarely do reviews on fast food chain locations* I moved from SC to 29 Palms in 2017, and of course there aren't any Jack in the Box locations in the South. From the first time I came here till the last time right before I moved the following year, there was very good service, very little waiting and good grub to chow down on.
Had a great hamburger on my last trip. It was a double (Jack) meat cheese burger, the perfect burger imho. They also have those seasoned curly fries, another of my favorites. All lot of people say that In And Out burgers are the best, but those shops are too infrequently situated, whereas you can find a Jack In The Box almost anywhere.
Purchased some breakfast Jacks. Great customer service. Fresh. Sorry they had to work on Christmas, but thank you.
I'm not a fast-food guy but these people are so nice that the 3 stars I was going to give needs at least 2 more because every time I come through they are truly pleasant to interact with. Love this place.

This Jack-in-the-box has always been clean and the food fresh and good when we've been there. If the drive through line is long you can go inside and order and usually beat the drive through! Great staff.
This Jack n the Box is a life saver actually, I always stop here before I take that plunge into the Joshua Tree Park or the gold mines of Wonder Valley. I stop to get few tacos , drink maybe a cheeseburger to munch on as I start my off roading adventure. I always stop at this Jack n the Box, staff is fast, polite and they have not ever messed up my order. Appreciate that for sure cause Im headed off road, surely would not want to turn around lol!

I placed an order for pickup on the app this morning. When I went to my car to go pick it up I realized I didn’t have my keys and that I locked myself out of my car and my house. After an hour of trying and failing to break into my house I called the restaurant to let them know I might not be able to pick up my order. They were very understanding, talked me through how to cancel my order through the app, and told me to call back if I wanted to try to pick it up later instead of canceling. Almost 2 hours after my original pickup time I finally got into my apt and got my keys. I called the restaurant and they were nice enough to remake my order. Christian, Lisa, and Ashley were SO nice and friendly when I got up to the window and we all had a good laugh about the situation. They truly turned my morning around and I’m very thankful for them.
I love the drive up window. Here in the desert 🏜 you never know what the weather is going to be. Also,when you're in a hurry, the drive up window is the best service.
I never had serious issues with my food. And they offer specials on some items.
My order was correct. For a large order of 6 sandwiches and more it didn't take long to get my food. They are always nice and polite.

Hands down the best fast food I have ever had. I had never been to a jack in the box before. I dont know if they are all this good or if this one is an anomaly. If I drive near Joshua Tree again though, Ill go out of my way to come here. Never thought Id say that about a fast food restaurant.
Food is always fresh and hot unlike a certain burger conglomerate that starts with McD the service varies between workers the atmosphere could be better a lot of homeless comes here so it isn't the best place to dine in

Christian really is a jem. He and the crew were fast, polite, clean and caring. Most fast food misses this but this guy is outstanding and on point. Give that man a raise!
Sunday the 14th 2025 about 130 am...The team was great, had a big order, everything was cooked fresh and brought to vehicle while I waited out front. Got to the house and everything was in the bags. Nothing missing.. Thank you. Sorry I didn't get the girls name who was doing drive threw orders after hours , but I have ate there twice this week and you are GREAT.. thank you... and thanks to the. Cook as well...
My wife and I finally got to try Jack in the Box after visiting Joshua Tree National Park. The guy ringing us out was extremely friendly and made some good menu recommendations since it was our first time. He was excited for it to be 70 degrees out which I told him same for us because we were coming from -17 degrees in Minnesota! I got a smash burger which was really good. Yeah it's fast food so you might think it's not going to be the best burger ever, but I was very surprised how good this one was. My wife got chicken strips and they went great with their famous ranch. Being from the midwest, ranch is a big deal and this one was top notch! She also got curly fries and they were cooked very well. Usually if we go to Arby's and get curly fries and they aren't that great. These fries were perfect. Altogether, a great experience!

I did enjoy last time I was here at this place. It's not the greatest Jack in the Box but I do like Jack In The Box and there's nothing wrong with this one. Plus it's the only one in town the next closest Jack In The Box as far as I know is in Yucca Valley. And if you are in town there's no reason to go all the way to Yucca Valley because there's nothing wrong with this Jack in the Box. Plus they do give a discount for the military I'm not sure if the one in Yucca Valley does or not.

Service can be slow in the wee hours of the morning, but that is to be expected when there is only 1-2 people in the kitchen at 1 AM. Perfect spot for cheap drunk food, if that's your thing. Breakfast burritos are always excellent.
Clean, fast, and when they forgot about my milkshake order, a quick reminder netted me a larger shake than what I'd payed for. Good staff, clean location, one of the better Jack in the Box's I've been to.
The food was amazing. The service was meh! We originally went inside and waited until no one aknowledged us so we went through the drive through which was a long wait. Our food was exactly as ordered. So overall a 4/5 is pretty decent.
My husband's favorite drive thru in 29 (not mine) however service is always with a smile. They often forget at least one item if you go through the drive thru trying to rush speed of service. The food is sometimes cold and they do run out often. Especially the grilled chicken. Food is good some times though.
The customer service is OK not best not that bad at all. Food is what you would expect from a jack in the box. They do have the new freestyle coca cola machine here now! This is really neat and a plus here. Good to see it is here now in our small town.and you know come to think of it so does the local BK as well. Tried there new rib eye burger was tasty but could not make difference from there regular pattys.
If this fast food restaurant didn't have such quick service ,as compared to others i the area, I may not have gone here for a quick bite,. However They had some ewer items on their menu like mozzarella sticks,no marinara sauce sauce was a downer on that. The new tiny tacos, loaded or unloaded ,was a snack that hit my spot. I have already planned my meal next time I am needing a quick ,satisfying snack.
Jack in the Box is pretty good here. Never had a problem. Tried the Smokey Jack I've had better but it was still pretty tasty. Have not been inside yet usually go through the drive-thru so I can't really vouch for the inside.
My husband and I go here every so often. The drive-thru voice box is hard to communicate through. Understandably, the staff get pretty irritated by how hard it is to communicate, and some miscommunications happen because of it, such as mistakes in the order.
So much better than McDonald's by a million percent! I was able to talk to a person and give them my order to ensure that it went through rather than dealing with a kiosk. I don't work at the restaurant I should not have to input my order into a machine.
Best Jack in the Box in town! Haha... only one in town! Food is made fresh, but sometimes, they serve expired fries. Doing that makes you wonder what other corners they're cutting? My positive side says to trust them! My skeptical side says pay attention while they make my food! ;-)

I normally only go once a month to use the family of 4 meal coupon. It's an awesome deal, it's just sad that we need a coupon to have reasonable prices at a Fast Food place. I used the coupon 2 burgers, 2 chicken, 4 tacos& 4 fries for $18. and got a#2(double Jack meal) for another$18. Why are you meals( without coupon) so ridiculous in price, almost$20 for 1 burger, 2 fries and drink.The tacos aren't done great, but again, fast food. The place is very clean and the workers aren't bad, but not great either. They took my order and did there job, but not in a friendly way at all.
The french fries were hot, like really hot. The chicken was extremely old and dried out, but the sandwich looked like a picture. I first though they gave me a burger instead of chicken, that is how dried out it was. The iced coffee was good, and cold. Now...here is the problem. There was a hair in my tea. It was stuck between the lid and the cup dangling into the tea itself. That's just gross. I don't want to take a trip back so I poured it out. So sad, goodbye sweet (unsweet) tea. Now I can already hear you, "how do you know it wasnt YOUR hair?" Well, firstly it's the wrong color. Secondly, it's not near long enough, and third it was between the lid and cup when I opened the tea up. I'm not sure how it managed to wedge itself and ruin my perfectly good tea, but alas it did.
It is decent but the changes lately aren't really to my taste, to much spice in the meat for my taste and all the buttery stuff and new buns don't really float my boat. The people there are always really nice though and I like the coffee and breakfast items.
It's like most Jack in the Box fast food restaurants. Sometimes a long wait at this location, especially when they get busy. Some of the workers are nice and some are rude. The manager seems mostly in a bad mood. The inside and outside are usually clean.
Descent for when you're hungry. Service from the employees is always good. And lastly, it's really the only spot to eat after hours which I can sometimes appreciate late at night when I'm hungry.
I left an initial bad review because they were closed when I walked there. But other visits over the past years were good. They have pretty quick service and are friendly.
I just hit the drive thru and it's a lil grungy on the outside but service was ok, maybe just a tad slow but no big deal. Food was on point. You know, it's jack n box so it's pretty much like every other jack n box lol
Got a Sourdough Jack.. didn't have any tomato, very little cheese beef Patty way overdone. I'd say some training is needed in this particular location in the cooking Department
The service is fast and accurate. Their shakes are excellent. They almost never have downed machines, unlike Burger King and rarely McDonalds. The drive thru customer service is always on point. Just make sure you Express what you want at the menu. They work very fast. Their fries are a hit or miss when it comes to temperature. Sometimes hot and sometimes cold. Never in between.
I can't remember the last time I ate at a Jack in the Box (I prefer local rather than chains) but this visit didn't convince me I've been missing anything. The fries were cold and the sandwich was just okay. I don't need to go back anytime soon.
My wife got one of the new grilled chicken sandwiches which was really good and I got the swiss classic buttery jack which was not good it seemed to be a lot smaller than what I used to remember, meat was dry. Fries seem to be have sat there for a while. Not sure if maybe some bad day today. Also love more expensive to.
It's a hit or miss when you go to this Jack in the Box. Depending on who's working you might get great service with delicious food or horrible service with horrible food
Just went through the drive-thru, but the cashier lady was rather nice. Easy enough to hear clearly on the intercom while ordering, even in my loud(ish) diesel truck. Food however, was just straight up not good. Barely any flavor, and the "crunchy" tacos were, well, not crunchy. Quite soggy actually. I will make an effort to not eat here again.
Bad attitude to take orders and gotta tell them to give you everything needed like sugar and creamer, if you do not ask, they give you nothing .

First time visiting. Went on a Wednesday afternoon around 2pm. First time eating at any jack in the box! Surprisingly good. Ordered the seasoned fries, milk shake and nuggets for my kiddo. She loved it! Said it’s better than McDonald’s. I’ll take her word for it. Unfortunately for me I won’t the returning to dine in because there were several homeless people that were there when I took my kid in there for dine in. I’ll just stick with drive through next time probably.
Went to Jack in th Box and ordered several things almost 30.00 dollars worth. Drive thru was very rude and when I got home the grilled chicken salad was only a half of a piece. I was very disappointed and too far to take it back. It was not a complete salad. My Granddaughter ate everything but the salas.
Everytime I come to the 29palms jack in the box drive thru, first I have to yell for them to hear me. And the then, I get cut off while giving my order. And today while paying I was explaining how different in the portion of substitution for the eggs compared to all the other jack's I frequently go to. The person taking my payment said, obviously theses guys don't care, I'm sorry. Then we ask for 3 different sauces due to we have 5 people in the car we only got 2 kinds. And then I call the phone number and got a recording saying voice mail was not set up yet.
Check your order before moving a inch out the drive through! This place has screwed up my order numerous times when the receipt was correct. Nothing worse then when your wife is craving a darn taco and you think it’s in the bag just to find out it’s not there !
It’s one thing for Doordash to deliver cold food but your store is horrible when I go through the drive thru and it’s still cold! All I ordered was a jack and cheese with fries and it took forever and literally cold! Fries stale! Might as well stayed home and saved money
The other night I went through the drive through and I ordered the new double Jack combo. The hamburger didn't taste good and my fries were cold. In my opinion, they need to have more people working the late night shift. The Spanish man that is always there, does a great job, but he works his toosh off, you can tell.
I recently visited Jack in the Box and had a very disappointing experience. First, my order was incorrect, rather than receiving taco sauce as requested, we were given ketchup. On top of that, we ordered three curly fries and were only given one. The overall service was poor, and the attention to detail was lacking. It's frustrating to pay for a meal and not receive what you ordered, especially when the staff doesn't seem concerned about the mistake. I hope management will address these issues to improve future customer experiences.
I usually get good food at this jack in the box but the last two times that i ordered the sourdough jack meal the hamburger and fries are ice cold. The fries are too salty. I am very disappointed and won't be eating out anymore.
Went for the first time and missed one of my orders. damn $4 may not be a lot but it is something. Phone doesnt work too so how can I make a reimbursement. Make sure yall check your food before leavin. SMH.
I'm sitting inside right now watching the staff work. Everyone has their mask on their chin. The cook just grabbed a hand full of raw egg rolls and put then in the fryer. Immediately after that he went and grabbed a hand full of lettuce with his bare hands and started to make tacos. There's so much cross contamination going on here. This place should be shut down and who ever management is needs to be fired for not caring about public health and safety.
Had the New Smash Burger on 5/2/24 around 230 pm, and it was gross way to much thousand island dressing it was a sloppy mess looked nothing like the picture the fries were old and cold you can tell they have been sitting forever, plus for got out eggs rolles and my kids nuggets gave her churros in stead, this place is only good for breakfast, regular food has been garage the last year after today I'm done.
Rolled into 29 Palms past midnight with only a couple of food options still open. I really wanted a burger so I came here. The drive-thru guy must've been asleep or high on weed because he sounded totally out of it, could've been an outtake from Dude Where's My Car.... I canceled my order & drove to Del Taco.
Tonight I put a mobile order in and we'll I was waiting line for the drive thru a guy came up and just put a cone and didn't explain nothing. When asked he just kept on walking. I tried to call and of course they are not answering the phone either. It just makes me wonder, what is the management doing. This type of customer service is unacceptable, especially if you already paid for your food and your unable to receive it. I know there isn't much places to eat but I will not be going here anymore. I used come here alot but not anymore. I'm sure they don't care either but I just wanted other customers to be aware of the poor quality of customer service.
Very upset, usually I love jack in the box after work late nights at 12 pm at night however last time my fries weren’t cooked all the way, tried calling the store 5 times have screenshot of call log, I know the driver through person who took my order from Highschool, then just right now this Mexican guy that works at night messed up my blazing cluck 7.99$ meal sandwich with a small fry (curly) and drink. I keep calling and the store won’t answer I tried telling them in person but didn’t seem to care
Cash only with no solution! What BS. Wasted 20 minutes in line... had to wait for all the customers in front of me. Your drive through doesn't have a way to exit once your in line you have to wait for all the cars in front of you. Never coming here again. Editing to respond with more information. Instead of disappointing a customer you could have provided something free since I had no cash... all you did was waste my time sitting in line then forcing me to go to a competitor restaurant. A $5 (cost) to Jack in the Box would have left a customer with a smile vice frustration.... everyone's time is worth something.
BEWARE! They don’t give you any receipt, and they miss your order on purpose. Me and my friends were in 2 different cars and placed drive-thru orders. It would have been believable if they missed any single item from one of our car’s order, but they missed like 4 orders from each car’s order. Like How? Unbelievable
The place was overcome with homeless people. Literally a dozen people came in. Dirty smelly yelling things out to people that weren’t there. We ordered at 3:33 and didn’t get our food until after 4. One guy was pouring liquor in his coffee. Another guy was passing around a jar of weed. The place smelled disgusting. Our order isn’t correct.
I ordered curly fries, and I received regular fries. I know for a fact that once food passes through the window is not to go back to be resold. Someone else ended up with the fries 🍟 I had in my bag.
I went and purchased food about 2weeks ago. Ordered a spicy chicken sandwich with cheese meal and the chicken tasted old and not fresh at all I also had a diet coke with my meal and had to ask for a new one it was really tasted like straight carbonation when I handed it back to the guy at the window his response was oh it just went out. He made me a new one and it was just as bad.
Food is not that good, but it's fast food and I have come to expect that. It's expensive, but I have excepted that also. There is a wait, sometimes a very long wait, okay, I can be patient. My order is completely wrong, messed up, missing items, okay, they made a mistake, I can be understanding. But where I draw the line is rude, disrespectful behavior from staff. The number one determining factor for where I spend my hard earned money is CUSTOMER SERVICE. Customer Service means showing the customer how important he or she is to you and the business by interacting with he or she in a friendly, helpful and positive way. If the district manager knew what the new manager was doing to female customers she would fire him immediately. I know that woman has conservative Christian values and if she saw the way this 44yr old man (I know his age because I asked him how old he was) was interacting with customers I do believe she would be very very unhappy
The store was clean and the cashier was nice. But sadly the food quality was terrible and the prices are up to high. I am not impressed with Jack in the Box! I order a bacon cheeseburger with fries. I got burnt fries with no salt and the cheeseburger! More like a ketchupburger.. the beef patties are way to small and thin and flavorless... and the ketchup was piled on way to heavy.. very disappointed :-/
July 14 around 815pm I placed an order on the Jack in the Box app. When I arrived the drive thru worker said hello to me as if I called her on the phone? Drug test, perhaps? I told her I placed an order on the app under the name Jacob. She said its not ready. I asked so what do I do? She said pull forward, so I did. When I got to the window the worker handed me three bags, said nothing and away. I looked briefly over the order and then left. When I got home I realized that the food was cold. One burger was missing a patty. We called to speak to the manager and he answered. I then explained everything to him and he rudely said oh you had that big order we just made, no way its cold. I told him I am holding the food in my hands and I can confirm that it is cold. We asked for a refund or just to replace the food. He rudely said hell naw if you gotta problem talk to my boss tomorrow. I tried calling him back for his name but they hung up on me twice. This manager was initially talking to my wife very unprofessionally and uncalled for. My meal was $30ish and he refrused to help. Not only did he not do his job, but was instead disrespectful and unworthy to be a manager or to even have a job anywhere. I will be there tomorrow to speak with his boss. This whole experience was uncalled for. We also watched a transient urinate outside of their establishment while we waited for the worst food/service in 29. So disgusted! Never eating here again.
Waited 30 minutes for a salad. It was basically carrots with some lettuce on it.
I wish I could leave them a 0. Old fries , terrible management. They do not wear gloves! Caught a Hispanic male around mid 40s , kinda chubby making an another customers tacos with bare hands! Not to mention the lobby looks clean but the homeless people are everywhere!! They even harassed me to give them money in the lobby!! they need to shut this place down! I will no longer spend my hard earned money in a restaurant that doesn’t follow the basic laws , very unsanitary!
Constantly getting our orders wrong. They have to ask ME what I’m missing, staff hardly pays attention and seems like they really don’t care. I get it’s fast food but it’s really not that hard to do your job correctly. Annoying when we pay for items and don’t receive them
EDIT 10.05.24 (after midnight on 10.04.24)... I ordered on 10.02.24... I ordered the 12 pieces of buffalo chicken wings ($13.99) and the "Double Vision meal and the"Jumbo Meal Deal"... It was only for me... Unfortunately, I never received the 12 piece buffalo wings, the two drinks (Red Bull cans) from the double vision meal and to top off, I never received the (Classic Mini Tacos, Cinnamon sticks or the two medium curly fries) from the Jumbo Meal Deal... Although, I did receive all the burgers... Oh and the monster tacos... I'm guessing to make up for the missing foods, they gave me several condiments... I did try calling the store, but the only thing I heard was "the wireless customer you're trying to reach, is unavailable"... What the...🤔 If you added a couple of pickles to the "Chicken Tater" it would be amazing. Or a bell pepper relish.
This was absolutely awful the location out in 29 palms was kinda bad. okay, I ordered a party pack or whatever it's called and there was a chicken sandwich missing some tomatoes or cut too thick and that gave us nun of the sauce we ordered or bothered to even ask us if we wanted any. Poor service really
Seriously all jack and the box have no idea how to operate and be efficient at the same time. It doesn't matter what one you go to its all the same you wait for the people who work here to NEVER get it together. Tonight i tried to pickup a doordash at this location but their lobby is closed snow I get to wait 20 plus minutes for them to figure out how to do their job. This shouldn't have taken more than 10minutes at most. So to jack in the box corporate you all are a joke.
I ordered on the app. I ordered and paid for 10 good good sauce packets and they only gave me 2. You need to either not allow me to order 10 on the app, give me a refund for the extra 8 that you didn't give me, or just read the order and put in the bag what I ordered!
Spent $42.43 on our order this morning. Paid with a debt card. Our Cheeseburger was missing and the lady working the drive through with the fancy nails didn’t give us our receipt! Isolated incident or intentional? Either way the owner should be aware. No receipt = shady. Leaving food we ordered out = dishonest. My review something shady and dishonest is going on here. Buyer beware! Lastly don’t try to call the number in the Google listing for assistance!! It’s a bogus unprofessional number that sounds like a automated cell # greeting saying “voice mail hadn’t been set up”.. obviously the owner of this franchise is shady and hires people of the same caliber. A true professional would be solid 100 and have a real phone # that staff answers and a real voice message greeting for customer feedback and return calls — which would have avoided this bad review.
Careful in drive thru girls having attitude and two scared to leave u the food and argue with u to park in front after almost making my food get cold coming in and out acting dumb then gave food with attitude females like that shouldn't be put to work if they don't like there jobs didn't even appolige for cold food they should put someone who will respect there job and customer a zombie could do her so called difficult job
Horrible staff Makayla treated me like a was beneath her. As a veteran and a loyal customer this is unacceptable behavior. I talked to the manager he was no better both were young that is no excuse hopefully Makayla and the Manager be reprimanded if any of Marines treated senior Marines like that they would be instantly reprimanded. The food still ain’t bad just the staff learn to treat people with respect and not have an attitude when they give you their ID card proving they served to get the discount.
Lady in the drive with a purple shirt on rolling her eyes at drive thru customers. It was so rude and shake was melted and fries cold. No one spends money to have to deal with people rolling their eyes at you and looking at you like that. I pray she doesn't come across a customer who is having a bad day! I'm too chill to cause a scene in a drive thru but this lady really offended me! Get another job if you hate your job! Don't take it out on me and my kid!
NEVER GO HERE!!! Had just about the worst experience that yelled at screamed at almost to much for words to explain management witnessed and did not even acknowledge employees! I am working to escalate this concern as much as I can. Time stamp-> 07/19 2025 at around 10:30 pm Ps- I WILL NEVER EVER GET FOOD HERE AGAIN
Awful customer service Starting with JUAN the Supervisor and the two snobby Ladies that where working the drive thru this evening. Standing there with a face full of make up. JUAN had a bad attitude because I requested fresh tacos. Not stale like they usually serve the CUSTOMER.
Every time I order on door dash they give me the wrong dressing, every single time. I ask specifically for the dressing I want and they just ignore what's on the ticket and put the original salad dressing. I am completely frustrated at this point.
