Opinions de The Rib Co. Twentynine Palms
There’s a guy grilling outside, we said “smells good” he said “tastes better”. It does, it’s amazing. The service was excellent too. Thank you, we’ll be back
Great ribs, atmosphere and service!!!!! We really enjoyed our dinner here and would recommend to our friends!!!
This place is absolutely a must try! They had the best ribs I’ve had in my life. I would 100% go here again! Portions are huge and taste is amazing. Their service is also good, and the atmosphere is very cool. There’s also parking available which is always a plus. I recommend the ribs with the whiskey glaze sauce. It also comes with two sides. The price is a bit high at about $45 per person for what we ate but you’d probably eat less food than we did.
This place was an absolute surprise on the side of a main road during our Joshua Tree trip. From outside, it doesn’t look that exciting and inside is the standard roadside restaurant, but damn they have the most amazing ribs at great prices considering that it’s BBQ. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, until it got too busy 😂 Note that it can get pretty packed with an average 1h wait in the late afternoon. We got the Rib Sampler and a combo with Brisket and Pulled Pork, which was way too much food for 3 people but it was worth trying them all. The Pulled Pork and Brisket were good but nothing special. On the other hand, all the ribs were exceptional. It’s hard to say which one was the best as they were all really good. This was my daughter’s first time agreeing to try ribs and she couldn’t stop having the Dry Rubbed ones and kept asking for more. All the side dishes were great. We were surprised at how amazing their fries were! Keep up the delicious, fall-off-the-bone ribs 🫠
Husband and I came here to eat after a long day of hiking. The food was great, he said it was the best steak he's had out somewhere in a long time. Prime rib was great, too! The place wasn't super noisy, which I always count as a plus. Our server was very friendly, and food came out quickly. Definitely recommend!
Wonderful place to get BBQ especially after hiking in Joshua Tree! Wonderful service, juicy chicken and Baby Back Ribs taste like they are made at home and come off the bone easy. Great meat portion but smaller sides (but thats why they are sides)
Great food and service. This was recommended to us from a staff member at the front desk of the Marriott down the road and boy it did not disappoint. From the south we love bbq and trying new places all around the country. I got the steak and my wife got the build your own plate. She got the pulled pork and brisket. Everything was excellent and they cook the steaks on the grill outside on the patio in front of you. If you are in 29 Palms, definitely make this spot a 🛑 on your route or stay.
Simple and small venue but amazing food and great service from family staff who are proud of their restaurant’s offerings. The house rub pork ribs were simply the best ribs I’ve had in years and the meat was falling off the bones it was so tender. My companion loved her pulled beef brisket sandwich. A must visit for dedicated meat eaters visiting Twenty Nine Palms.
Absolutely the best ribs I have ever had. Go for the rib sampler plate, you will not regret it! Every single rib was cooked to fall-of-the-bone perfection. Was told it was good for two, but realistically could have fed 3 or 4!

The best ribs I ever had. Friendly staff, large portions, amazing food. We'll be back soon.

Excellent ribs! Worth the wait! We've been here 3 times and the food is awesome... Get the half-rack of ribs and a baked potato! Great when you're starving after a day of hiking in Joshua Tree
Friendly no-frills rib joint with decent prices and friendly service. The smell drew me in when I was riding past. If I wasn't on my motorcycle with many more miles to go I would have been tearing …
Very pricey! The food is good. The service was a bit slow. I dont like that they don't sell their delicious cornbread muffins separately, they only come with the meals. They serve the muffins with a yummy honey butter and when they come out nice and hot they are so addictive! I tried this place twice while in town, it was expensive both times but I wanted to give it another chance. First time we shared a combo you choose at least 2 options and we got pork spareribs, chicken breast and pulled pork. The ribs were delicious and very soft, the chicken was ok some pieces were a bit rubbery, the pork was ok also just needed something like more muffin or a bread roll or something to offset the flavor and texture. Came with 2 sides we got mashed potatoes and macaroni & cheese. On the side we ordered potato salad which was my favorite! It was tangy and delicious! Also ordered a fried chicken plate came with steamed broccoli and mashed potatoes. The chicken was again a little rubbery and some pieces a bit dry. Had a side of fries those were tasty! Second visit ordered ceasar salad, beef ribs and tri tip. Came with 2 sides again got potato salad for both and ordered some macaroni & cheese and mashed potatoes on the side. The kids had chicken tenders they were pretty good for being chicken. Probably won't return here the service is not great seems like they treat locals differently.
Decided to try this place as take out for the first time. The ribs were absolutely FALL OFF THE BONE! Probably the most tender ribs I’ve ever had and I’ve been all over southern USA and Texas. The ribs were juicy and well seasoned. The half rack came with two sides which I got mashed potato and broccoli which were delicious but small portion, so I took off a star. The burger was huge. I’d say 8/10 since it was cooked to medium and it came with crispy thin fries. My favorite. I’d come back to try their signature dry rub ribs.
Had a late dinner here last night (20:30). It's a busy time of year with nearby Joshua Tree, so the wait was about 1 hour. The meat is cooked out front of the small restaurant over a bed of 🔥. We had the 10oz steak and baked potato, the rib sampler plate and a ceasar salad. We also sampled the baked beans, coleslaw and the cornbread muffins with honey butter. Oh so good! A friendly staff who are in constant motion given the popularity of this family run restaurant.
Overall amazing BBQ! The pork ribs and sides were stellar. The beef ribs didn't really have much meat on them - not worth the $$ to pay for mostly bone

The food is not great, the service is poor. over priced for the quality. Ribs are not tender and sauce is not good. Cornbread is alright.

This is a local joint with a fairly extensive menu, heavy on the bbq. Oddly, we found that our side dishes (Cole slaw, loaded mashed potatoes, corn muffins) were excellent but the ribs, themselves,…
Very good burger. prices were very fair. Employees were friendly and service was very good. Next time we will try the ribs.
First time went the wait was long so we left, got lucky the next night. Friendly staff, sampler meal was great for 2. Beef ribs I liked the least but all were good. Baked beans excellent. Worth a …
The grilled jalapeños were out of this world. The ribs were super dry, meatloaf was meh, and portions of sides were very small for the prices. Staff was nice and the wait didn’t take as long as expected. Not sure if veteran owned but they very much love veteran decals/gun decorations.
Big note that a lot of menu options are old and no longer being served. My opinion is to call before ordering online. Now as for the food it's ok. The ribs were very tender but lacked flavor. The beans also ok nothing to get happy about. My beans are so much better ( my opinion) The salad was good and liked the homemade croutons were delicious. Ranch dressing was good as well.
I really wanted to like this place. Our waitress/server was great and seemed genuine, unlike 99% of all other wait staff/servers. We didn't have reservations but the wait wasn't bad (we were there at the end of October, which is not quite peak season for the area, I believe) and the bathroom was very clean. The cornbread with honey butter was good and the salad okay after not having any green vegetables for a few days. They also have beef ribs, which you don't come across often. So I ordered them with the bourbon glaze. However it came out as if the ribs had undergone a grease fire and were quite charred and greasy, with a sticky glaze to try to mask it. The husband ordered meatloaf, which he seemed to enjoy however.
The staff is friendly and portion sizes are decent for the price. There was quite a wait both for the table and for the food after we ordered. We got the baby back ribs and the rib sampler. Both were good quality ribs and tender, especially the baby back ribs that fell off the bone. Some of the rib sampler items were better than others. Sides were okay but felt like all the hard work for taste was put into the ribs. We also tried the peach cobbler which was a huge disappointment. It seemed like canned peaches with vanilla cake mix cake. Would skip dessert and just eat the ribs.
Great food some of the servers are not happy possibly even rude Whatever you do do not ask to plug in your phone.

We were nicely welcomed. One of us had ribs, they were lovely. The place needed a refurb but was clean enough. The burger was poor, no flavour. We mentioned this to Marcus and he couldn’t have care…
I felt like all the wait staff forced a smile, the cash register girl was very hard of hearing, and im so sad to say the triple threat ribs were jusr bad. I guess the triple threat was for your time, taste bud, and wallet at $40 for a disappointing meal. The ribs taken from the restraunt to my hotel less than 5 minutes away was cold, I WISHED their mac and cheese was boxed, and the loaded baked potato was just loaded with my imagination because there was no sour cream or chives just cheap cheese and fake bacon.

Service, politeness, I really want my money back, because the service was HORRID!!!! didn't like the way I was treated at all, the server/ cashier is the WORST!!!!

This place has some cool decor, decent service, but the fried chicken was absolutely disgusting. Overpriced, dry and disgustingly greasy at the same time. No flavor. The mash potatoes also suck. But atleast they aren’t gonna make me puke like the chicken will.
I used to enjoy coming here. The food was good during the pandemic. But the last two times I've come here the service is super slow and the food has been off. Yesterday we had ribs that were obviously reheated. They tasted like old grease. The coleslaw was spoiled as if it had been sitting out in the heat. It wasn't served cold. When I mentioned it to the server I didn't get the reaction I expected. Very disappointing. We won't be back again. And just to follow up on what was written above. We got sick from the little bit that we did eat. The health department should definitely take a look at this place.
Got a table pretty fast and was excited for the food. Ordered onion rings($16), they were good but such a measly portion. The cornbread was pretty good with the honey butter. I ordered 3 sides ($6 each) but the portions were just disrespectfully small. The ribs that we got were insanely dry. You d expect a place named after ribs to have decent ribs. The steak was ordered medium but arrived rare, when we sent it back, they just put it back on the grill but didn’t cook it properly still. Still very pink and inconsistent. Such a disappointing experience for paying that amount of money.
