It was our first time dining at Firebirds, but we will be back. There was a slight hiccup when we first arrived. We had a reservation made, but there were several tables that weren’t bussed and waited a few minutes. We were sat with Audra and she was a fantastic server. She was sweet, kind, and had great recommendations! Loved her genuine personality and customer service. 5 stars all the way.
The food here is flavorful and cooked to perfection, with a nice variety of dishes to choose from. The wood fired flavor adds a special touch that makes the meals stand out. The atmosphere is warm and stylish, making it a great place for both casual dinners and special occasions. Service is attentive and the staff makes sure everything is taken care of. Overall, it’s a solid choice for enjoying delicious American cuisine in a comfortable setting
My son and uncle stopped in and had a wonderful experience! The bread was delicious! The steak had a unique and delicious flavor. We enjoyed the street corn and the cocktails were light, airy and refreshing. We sat in the "sun room" (My words) which was bright and cheerful. The dining room was more dark and intimate. Everything was astheticly pleasing and well designed. Would recommend.
From the moment we walked in, everything was exceptional. We made reservations and were seated right away. Mandy greeted us promptly, introduced the seasonal specials and cocktails, and shared her personal favorites, which helped us decide. She checked in throughout the evening, kept our drinks full, and provided great service even as the restaurant got busier. The atmosphere made it easy to have a conversation, which added to the experience. We were celebrating a birthday, and Mandy made the night feel special. We enjoyed a hearty bowl of chili topped with cheddar and red onion, perfectly cooked salmon with shrimp over creamy mashed potatoes, and ended with a warm, rich brownie paired with ice cream and caramel sauce. Everything was spectacular and full of flavor. Thank you, Mandy, for making our celebration so enjoyable.
As you all know I don't do a lot of complaining and I'm pretty generous with my ratings. There is absolutely NOTHING to complain about at Firebirds Wood Fired Grill because it's amazing! Out of all the restaurants we have been to Firebirds and Bella Italian restaurant are absolutely the BEST! Firebirds might be on the pricier side for some but I'm a firm believer that you get what you pay for! If you're up in Lee Summit you should really try Bella Italian restaurant and Firebirds Wood Fired Grill; you'll thank me later! This was our third visit and thought I would just add a couple more pictures.
How can I even put it into words? My 40th birthday was everything and more! I came in on 12/4/25 to celebrate my 40th trip around the sun, and my server Aimee was incredible — patient, attentive, and truly made sure we were taken care of. I casually mentioned to another staff member who brought out our appetizer that it was my birthday, and next thing I know Aimee comes back wishing me a happy 40th… even though I never told her myself! The customer service and friendliness were absolutely on point. They even surprised me with a birthday card signed by the team and a slice of cheesecake. It’s been a long time since I’ve experienced that level of service at a restaurant. I genuinely felt like a VIP. Highly recommend — I’ll definitely be coming back!
We came here for our 5 year anniversary and glad we did!! Food was delicious as always! Service was great as always. They also gave us a nice little card for our anniversary and gave us complimentary cheesecake and also allowed us to pick out a dessert to take home on the house!! There are clear reasons this place is a regular of ours!
This place is amazing. The atmosphere is very nice for having a great pleasant dinner. The attendees are very polite and hospitable. The drink are so good and they don't cheap out on the quality of liquor. The food is very delicious and was served in a timely manner. Will definitely be coming back to try other dishes. I had the salmon and shrimp meal and it was one of the best salmon I have ever had.
I recently dined at Firebirds Wood Fired Grill and was impressed from the moment I walked in. The upscale, lodge-like interior creates a cozy and inviting atmosphere, with warm tones and a layout that allows for comfortable, private dining rather than crowded tables. The menu is diverse and appealing. While the Three-Course Menu at $39.95 was tempting, I couldn’t resist the Grilled Tenderloin Salad. I’m a sucker for wood-grilled tenderloin paired with bleu cheese crumbles, and this did not disappoint. My steak was cooked to a perfect medium-rare, tender and flavorful. The portion size was generous enough to share or save for later, but it was so good I ended up finishing every bite. Our server was outstanding, attentive, personable, and efficient from introduction through to the smooth handling of our divided checks. The entire evening felt relaxed and low-pressure, with an atmosphere that made it easy to enjoy good conversation and great food. Overall, Firebirds delivered an excellent dining experience that balanced quality food, service, and comfort. I’ll definitely be returning.
Dropped in for dinner without a reservation. After a friendly greeting from the hostess, we were seated in a comfortable booth. GREAT menu options! Husband had meatloaf (seasonal special) with AuGratin potatoes and broccoli. I had the roasted chicken with fresh veggies and mashed potatoes...delicious 😋 We had great service, and the manager stopped by and talked beers for a few minutes with my husband. Great experience, and we'll definitely be back.
The reviews are mixed for this restaurant but I must say when my husband and I visited we were impressed and had a really nice time. Our waitress was Annie and she was very sweet. She arrived to our table promptly, helped with menu selections as it was our first time and checked often to make sure we had everything we needed. We ordered appetizers: Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls, Garlic Parmesan Fries and a beef dish that was on a skewer. It was all really well prepared and delicious. We also had a Long Island Iced Tea and it was great! A lot of times when you get Long Island 🏝 Ice Tea one element can be too strong and overpower the whole drink but this one was well balanced and very good. Generous with the spirits as well - if you know what I mean. The decor was really nice and everything was clean and welcoming. Great atmosphere! We really enjoyed our experience here and would definitely return. Check them out!
The pineapple infused Martini very flavorful, prim beef sliders very appetizing. Lots of flavor. Withe the garnish with horseradish. Very relaxing afternoon. Happy hour
This place is amazing! The food is incredible, especially the Lobster Queso. The service is top-notch, and the atmosphere is perfect for a nice night out. I highly recommend Firebird Wood Fired Grill to anyone looking for a great dining experience. The restaurant was also very clean and well-maintained.
Very good food and good service. The steak Benedict was definitely worth going back over. My daughter got the salmon one. It was her birthday and they gave her cheesecake to help us celebrate the special day!
Firebirds is amazing. The staff is top tier with their friendliness, how attentive they are. Firebirds food is second to NO ONE. I have loved everything I have ever ordered. The Lobster Spinach Queso is amazing, as is the creme brulee. I highly recommend Firebirds. They were amazing for my birthday celebration & they pulled off an engagement proposal.
Maddison and the manager Patrick were amazing! Super helpful and accommodating. It was my first visit here they brought me a complimentary desert and they went above and beyond. I never had to ask for a water refill, bread was amazing and the food exceeded my standards. If there were 10 stars I would give them 10/10! I would highly recommend you come here. I will definitely be back!
Staff was personable and welcoming. The burgers are outstanding. Best burgers I've had in a long time. Spinach lobster tail queso dip was so good, we were wanting more. Atmosphere was quiet and lights were dimmed. No wait to sit and food was brought out pretty quick.
Wow-- prime rib and loaded baked potato, exactly the way you imagined in your dreams. But the highlight of our meal was our server, Audra, who made the meal truly memorable. If she's available when you arrive, I strongly recommend requesting her.
My first visit to this particular location was a 20/10 experience. Our server, Ridgley, was incredible. She really went above and beyond for our large group, I don’t know that I’ve ever had better service and I dine out frequently. Then, the food. No exaggeration when I say this was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. I had the honey garlic chicken with charred carrots and Parmesan mashed potatoes - highly recommend. The drinks were strong and delicious. My highest praise to the wizard in the kitchen and behind the bar and also, to the manager, for checking in on us and taking the time out of his busy Saturday night to make our party feel welcome. Also noteworthy - the blonde woman at the front was delightful. Overall wonderful experience, can’t wait to return.
We went for lunch. We were first greeted at the door and seated in a booth. First impression, dang this place is nice. Server was very polite and honestly some of the best I’ve had in a while. Seared Ahi Tuna for an appetizer was perfect. So flavorful and tender. The steaks were cooked perfectly to rare. And sides were great. Would recommend for a steakhouse: Dinner date or family occasion.
Finally decided to try this place out. Glad we did. The food was exceptional, as was the service. A nice atmosphere, some classic rock playing. Prices were in line with other similar establishments. We were really pleased with this first visit.
I'm visiting Kansas city for work. My group chose this place as Coopers Hawk was fully booked. As a Member of CH, Firebirds has them beat! AMAZING food! I didnthe 3 course Chefs Daily Soup ClamWin Chowder, Salmon/shrimp w/parm mashed potatoes. Photos are below.
Josh was AMAZING tonight! I came in with a big party and Josh already had another party and many other tables. He never made us feel like he was overwhelmed or that it was too much for him to handle. His service was so amazing. My friends and I were so pleased with him!
We showed up an hour and 15 minutes before closing on a Sunday. There was one person at the bar, at big party there for a birthday, and my wife and I. The food was great but our service was a little slow for being almost empty. But they were getting carryout orders and their computers were acting up. But great food! Salmon and shrimp
This was our first time visiting Firebirds Wood Fired Grill and it will definitely not be our last! The atmosphere was quiet, welcoming, and perfect for a relaxing dinner. The food was delicious, but what really made the experience stand out was our server, Tyler. He was incredibly attentive without ever being overbearing. He noticed right away that we wanted to share our entrées and offered to split them for us, even bringing them out beautifully plated on separate dishes. That level of thoughtfulness and detail really made our evening feel special. Highly recommend both the restaurant and asking for Tyler—he truly made our first visit outstanding!
We found This place after a long day of traveling. We ended up getting a bunch of shareable appetizers and some desserts, and it was absolutely delicious. Everything was so good. The Philly steak, egg rolls, the onion rings, the deviled eggs, and the street corn were so delicious. We also ordered the desserts Which was a five layer, lemon cake, breadpudding, a carrot cake. Highly recommend and is great for sharing with the group of people. Our waitress name was Audra and she made our experience so much fun. Thank you so much!
Our family went to Firebirds, Lee's Summit location last night to celebrate 3 birthdays. Had a wonderful experience. Hostess made sure we liked our table, our waitress "Beck" was amazing for us all including the 3 small children. She smiled, visited and was attentive to every detail, and went over and above to make our experience special. The Mgr. stopped by our table and introduced himself and offered free desserts. This was not our first time to Firebirds and all experiences have been very nice, but this one was extra special. Ask for Beck, you'll be glad you did!
Met some friends at Firebirds for dinner and drinks the other night. Loved it! The food was excellent and the service was exceptional. Our server was delightful! Also loved the fact that the noise level was such that we could enjoy our conversation without feeling like we had to yell (like some other restaurants).
I had an amazing dining experience at Firebirds Wood Fired Grill in Lee’s Summit, MO! The steak was cooked to perfection—juicy, flavorful, and with that perfect char from the wood fire. The chili was a standout too, hearty and packed with just the right amount of spice. Service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere made it a great spot for a night out. Highly recommend—5 stars all the way!
Wonderful birthday experience. Our server Ava was attentive and helpful thoughtout our visit. Food was delicious. The manager stopped by and chatted with us which made our experience. Keep up the fantastic service. Will visit again 100%
I had a warm greeting by the lovely lady at the hostess desk on Monday afternoon. Our food was really good. I ordered the shrimp appetitizer and a baked potato. I asked for green onion on the potato and they were able to accommodate that. Good service and atmosphere. The manager stopped by and wanted to make sure we were doing good as well and was appreciated. Everything was great! The strawberry tea was a new tea for me to try and it was really good.
We recently celebrated our daughter’s 15th birthday at Firebirds Wood Fired Grill, and the experience was truly unforgettable. Although we weren’t able to reserve the private room as we had originally hoped, Michele, the manager, went above and beyond to make sure our daughter and her friends still had a special setting. She thoughtfully arranged an alternative window location for the party of ten, and the girls absolutely loved it. Her attention to detail and genuine care made all the difference. Michele also assigned Maiya to our daughter’s table, and she was exceptional. Knowledgeable, talented, courteous, and incredibly attentive, Maiya handled a lively group of teenagers with professionalism and warmth. She made them feel celebrated and cared for throughout the evening. For our separate table, Michele assigned Tatiana, who was equally professional, kind, and timely. She ensured everything ran smoothly for us, including our 8-year-old daughter, with the same level of attentiveness and grace. Michele checked in personally and remained accommodating throughout the evening, while both Maiya and Tatiana consistently delivered outstanding service. Their combined care and charisma enriched our daughter’s birthday dinner in a way we truly won’t forget. Thank you, Michele, Maiya, and Tatiana, for making such an important milestone even more special. We are more than happy to return to this location for both casual dining and future celebrations. Five stars all the way!
Had lunch here for our anniversary. The service was phenomenal. Our waitress was the sweetest. The manager also was very involved. I got the fish tacos (7/10-would get again. Has a bit of a kick to it). He got the hot honey chicken sandwich (7/10-lots of kick to it so if you like spicy, it would be your go to). The Philly steak egg roll appetizer was a 8/10 for us- Very good flavor and crunch! Also if you like to dip your fries in ranch, their ranch is legit. We tried the mule and mimosas (both delicious).
Happy hour is awesome. The food menu and drink menu are really good. Probably the best Happy Hour I have been to in a long time. The Diamond Martini is delicious and so is their lemon drop.
The waitress was super nice! My friends were probably a little obnoxious because they were drinking! But My burger was yummy! Even the next day I pulled it out of the refrigerator and ate that stuff cold! Yummy in my tummy! I will be back!
Honestly I don’t get why several people ding this place on price. It’s not like the menu isn’t available, it’s even printed on several people’s reviews. I find it totally in line with many of the other wine/steak focused restaurants around. I thought overall it was nice, and everyone at the table seemed to enjoy their food and drinks. I had a really nicely done garlic sirloin. It was cooked beautifully and was way bigger than expected for 27 or whatever dollars. My adult daughter got a bowl of pasta bigger than her head. The salmon portion was larger than expected for the price. Wife said the mushroom side was great. The kids said the seasoned fries “weren’t seasoned”, and someone indicated their chicken was dry. Burgers were good. But all in all a decent visit, and decent enough service and speed especially on Xmas Eve. We had seven people, at least four had drinks… total bill not including tip was only like 220. That’s pretty decent for dinner for seven adults. I do wish they had a slightly more exotic beer selection, but understand it’s not their focus. So many quality brewers nearby. Was it perfect, no. But would I go back? Absolutely.
Good atmosphere. Great for a date night, girl's night, or family time. It didn't take the food long. The Southwest potato soup was great. The area is safe and clean. The restaurant is clean.
The one negative thing I have to say about this place is that the prices are much too high for what you're getting. Our first visit was Saturday. We tried a few different things so we could see what we might like. Their lemonade is really good and your purchase allows for donations to a good cause! The Durango burger is sadly tasteless and the description reads as: chili spiced, pepper jack cheese, fried onions, roasted garlic ranch. The burger came out with tomato, pickles, and lettuce on it as well, and the only thing you could taste in that whole concoction was the pickle and lettuce. I was very surprised. The ranch rings were amazing, the bbq burger was really good, and our service was amazing! Shout out to Abby (not sure how to spell it;sorry if it's wrong!) for being awesome! She went above and beyond and made our first trip in an experience that we'll definitely come back for!
I got the ribeye and a baked potato, my boyfriend got the shrimp pasta. He wasn’t crazy about the seasoning. It was just lacking. We split the lobster dip. It was tasty!
I had a sandwich and in my opinion the bread was way over toasted. I ended up scraping it all off and just eating it kind of like a turkey salad. The French fries were excellent. Partner got some kind of steak medallions with veggies and liked it all, would return. Masami was our server, and excellent.
Cheddar's performance for Cooper's Hawk prices. We had a reservation for 4:45 and were seated immediately on the side with the windows in a comfortable booth. I don't know exactly what I was expecting, but for their price point, perhaps a bit more. The cocktail arrived in a timely manner as did the appetizers, although delicious, those were rushed with dinner coming soon after only to see two overcooked well done steaks (ordered rare and medium rare) and one of our sides missing. The mashed potatoes were cold and just not good. We valued our time talking without interruption more than going through the process of signaling to the server and sending it back. Our server was polite, down to earth, and we enjoyed her company but never really asked if we liked the food. My companion was celebrating a birthday and the restaurant generously provided crème brûlée cheesecake bites, but also we ordered a slice of chocolate cake that arrived on a dirty plate. Again, we cherished our time together instead of pointing out the details that went poorly. We tipped 20% and got on out of there. We could have had a much better meal for $150 than what we received here. I would not consider returning especially at this price point
Staff is friendly. We were seated quickly. He had cheesy grits and lobster crab cake with two poached eggs. I had the french toast, and the young lady said it's a favorite and very good. To which to my surprise....it was not. The bottom of the bread was soggy. I definitely judge places based on their french toast. If it's not good, I normally never go back. His poached eggs were overcooked, and the grits "tasted like they had sat a bit after being cooked, and there was no cheese flavoring." I also ordered the deviled eggs for an appetizer. If you do not like horseradish, do not get them. It was a light flavor, but I wasn't a fan. Candied bacon on the eggs was really good, though. We were seated in the patio area. It was nice until a family of four with two small children were seated next to us. The youngest was screaming at the top of his lungs. The mom looked embarrassed and annoyed. I get it. I was ready to go, though. I feel like there should be seating areas with family vs. seating areas with people with no kids, lol. They also did not ask how the food was once. The server, hostess, nor the manager that walked by and greeted us. I probably won't go back.
Visited on a Friday evening for a friends birthday. The drinks are good, our server, Valerie was great, and the salad was delicious! I ordered the roasted garlic sirloin medium and it came out well done. Valerie ensured my next steak was made properly and it was pretty good but time to go once the new steak came out . The potatoes were very cold and I didn't really care for the flavor. Would be willing to try again without it being a group of people and maybe during lunch instead of dinner.
I ordered a salad and salmon. I picked out so much brown romaine lettuce it was terrible. My salmon was cold and was sent back twice. The new one I received was undercooked. My server and the mod were amazing and very apologetic. The creme brulee' cheesecake was amazing along with the cake posted.
Food was good and service was ok. Biggesr gripe, was ordering a drink from the bar while waiting for my uber. It was a double bacardi and diet. They charged me over $20!? Asked how much a single was, and it was $9.49. Didn’t argue the math I was ready to leave. There’s other stuff related to the service that wasn’t great. Bring apps out and mains 2 minutes later. It seemed a bit disorganized and confusing. For the price, I will go somewhere else next time.
I went for happy hour. I was impressed with the drinks! (The diamond drink) I ordered street tacos, the steak was hard and cold. I ordered sliders, and were super over cooked.. didn't use to be like this, when the restaurant first opened.
So disappointed in my filet. We wanted to love this place so we had another nice date night option in Lee’s Summit, but sadly it did not meet expectations. Our server was the best part—she was super friendly and genuine. Lobster dip was good but our chips were soft and soggy. Bread took a long time to arrive but it honestly wasn’t worth the empty calories, messy and lacked flavor. My husband thought his chicken sandwich was pretty good. My filet on the other hand—zero flavor, dry and overcooked. I ordered medium and there was no pink. Although our server was nice, she never asked how our food was or made sure my steak was cooked properly, so I didn’t have an open window to let them know and I hated to complain. I didn’t eat the steak. Mashed potatoes were just ok. I would love to have told the manager about our disappointment. That my filet looked and tasted more like a sirloin at best, but she never came to our table. I saw her on the line doing expo and then eating her own meal at a side table, but she never came by to see how things were going for us or any other table. I don’t see us going back here.
I have been ordering from this location through DoorDash for several months. The food has been acceptable, though not exceptional. Today, I chose to dine in person with a friend for lunch. Both my food and the food at the table next to us arrived cold—refrigerator cold, not lukewarm. The guests at the neighboring table and I exchanged light banter about it while we waited. Approximately 15 minutes later, a woman who appeared to be the manager (gray hair, tall, wearing a white sweater) approached the table next to us, apologized for their experience, and offered them a complimentary item. While I appreciate that gesture, she did not acknowledge our table at all, despite us experiencing the same issue. When we asked our server why the manager had not spoken with us, we were told that one of us had gone to the restroom, so the manager chose not to approach our table. This explanation was inaccurate. Neither of us left the table at any point. That lack of integrity could have ruined the dining experience. It did not, solely because of our server, Ashlyn. She was professional, empathetic, and kind. She acknowledged the issue without being excessive and made a genuine effort to ensure we were taken care of. Because of her attentiveness and professionalism, I left her the best tip I could. This experience reinforced that leadership is not defined by title or appearance. Ashlyn demonstrated leadership by taking responsibility and doing what she could to improve the situation. She represented the Firebirds brand well. I will not return to this location, nor will I continue ordering from it through DoorDash. However, I do want it noted that Ashlyn provided excellent service under circumstances she did not create. Update: I contacted the company. The way we were treated was impactful, and I wanted them to know it. The company replied with a generous gift card and a handwritten note. I will try again. This gesture gave insight into the brand and I won't let one person representing it poorly inform my opinion of Firebirds. Somewhere above her head, there are people who care about their diners. That matters to me.
Came in to the restaurant at 6:30pm on a Friday night. This was our first visit but I noticed online there were several open reservations so we just came in rather than placing a reservation. Immediately we were hit with “do you have a reservation” when we said no, the manager (I assume) and the hostess attitude changed and they followed up with “well we don’t have any open tables right now, as you can see we are busy”.. we didn’t want to have to go anywhere else so we asked how long the wait would be a quick “45mins to an hour”… okay.. so can we putt our names down or do we need a reservation.. they hesitateanly added us and we sat down. Meanwhile 1 person was waiting.. no one else came or went. I quickly went back to their website and noticed that I could put myself down for a reservation at 6:45pm.. 10 minutes from the time we finally sat to wait.. so we did that and what happened, we were sat by 6:45. So why were we rudely greeted and made to seem like we weren’t welcome if we didn’t have a reservation?? We were hungry so that’s why we stayed. Once sat at the “indoor patio” which the chairs are insanely uncomfortable, our server miaya came over. She asked if we had been there before, we said no, she gave a few drink recommendations and left to get us our water. She was great but she never recommended anything else. I got a chicken (which was huge and delicious) and my husband ordered a $46 ribeye which was rare on the bottom and med rare on the top. It was also very grisly, which was disappointing. I ordered a baked potato with my meal and when it came out our server said “I know you ordered a baked potato but we were all out so they just gave you mashed” I get it’s very similar but I have never gone somewhere that they just substitute food without even asking.. if I wanted mashed potatoes I would have ordered them. All in all, food was okay, besides our kind server the service was mediocre and the wait was long - wouldn’t go back.
Drove 30 minutes to pick this up, and 30 minutes back to my hotel only to cut into this Tomahawk pork chop to find it practically raw. They should be ashamed. Dont they understand the importance of cooking pork to safe temperatures? This was after i heated my food up for 3 minutes. I will never return to this restaurant.
