Opinions de Lido Pizza Van Nuys
Maria provided excellent service and made the entire experience very enjoyable. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was taken care of quickly and professionally. Her positive attitude and attention to detail really stood out. It’s clear she takes pride in her work and genuinely cares about providing great service. I would definitely recommend Maria and look forward to being helped by her again in the future.
Very cute place to come and take your family. Delicious pizza. Great portion sizes. And amazing prices. Love coming here for a homestyle meal. Handmade pasta 🍝
Lido Pizza is a small to medium size pizzeria place, but the food is big and delicious. If you are looking for an authentic pizza place in the SFV I recommend you give Lido's a try. You won't be disappointed.
Lido Pizza in Van Nuys is hands-down one of the best pizza spots around. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and consistently delicious. Their signature square pizzas are perfectly crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and loaded with toppings, exactly the way good pizza should be. The staff is friendly, the service is quick, and the place has that classic, old-school charm that makes you want to come back. Whether you’re dining in or grabbing takeout, the quality never disappoints.
This is a very old school pizza /Italian restaurant. They have been in business a very long time, so you know their formula works. Walking I to the place makes you feel like you've stepped back in time at least 40 years. I say that mostly in a good way, though they could really use a fresh coat of paint overhead among a couple.other small gripes. The food however certainly more than makes up for it. The entrés are delicious and the pizza may be my favorite in the valley. I intentionally order a size bigger than I can eat because I love the leftovers so much.
I've been going to Lido Pizza for almost 40 years and I've never been disappointed. I didn't know what they do but the cheese on their pizza is out of this world! Pair that with a fresh pitcher of Bud & you've got the best meal in the SF Valley. Something about the Bud too, maybe because they're located so close to the Budweiser plant, the beer is extra good there too. So enjoy guys!
Best Pizza. Rolls are incredible. We as always order extra. Pasta is always predictably great and consistent. I could go on. Been going for 20 years. I live an hour away now but get bye when I get anywhere close! Today I had a Cold Cut Sandwich. It was huge! Very tasty. Staff was very attentive towards my daughters birthday party.
I've always passed this place for many years. Today I had the chance to stop and try their food. I actually drove back there. The pizza was unbelievable and the eggplant parm was on delicious, clean and simple food but yet tasty old school Italian. Not a whole lot but just very delicious.
All their pasta is made fresh and in house. From the first bite you can tell the difference in taste and texture. Their pizzas are absolutely delicious, thick layer of cheese and plentiful toppings. Don’t shy away from their side salad either. They also have an all you can eat pasta option for those of you that are super hungry. They have a small parking lot in front and in the back, but there’s usually street parking available. If you love that old world vibe, dim lighting, red vinyl booths, you’ll enjoy the atmosphere here. Same owners as Chi-Chi’s pizza, but this is the original restaurant and location.
I have lived in the area for a while and kept seeing Lido but never visited till this past week. Wow, I really was missing out. Their food was great! Huge portions and everything is made fresh. I loved their peach Italian soda and their tiramisu was *chef's kiss*. If you are feeling Italian, give them a try.
So I looked up local spots cuz I was hungry!! I always look up the negative reviews just in case...there were not to many but let me just say how wrong they were... the pizza so stacked and sooooo delectable that we finished the pizza. We ordered pepperoni and green pepper pizza...had a nice spicy bite. The staff was very friendly no complaints there either. I posted a pic don’t let the it fool you, it looks like a disaster but it is a delight to eat. The antipasto salad was average but why go to a pizza place for salad anyway!! Update: wholly super toppings!! Went again and did not disappoint when I tell you that the cost to add extra topping is totally worth it I am not lying. Our 1 large pizza was topped off so much so that we could not finish it. The stretch on cheese is incredible. My recommendation is to eat there or eat the pizza right away it is worth it. 1 complaint they need fans because the dine in during the summer is 🥵. Staff is alright but truth is I don’t go there for staff vibes I go for the amazing pizza & meatballs!!

During Covid, I felt their pasta was good but not amazing anymore. Had some pasta last month and it's back to its excellent standard! Thanks Lido!

This is a mom and pop long established restaurant. It's a dive dark quiet cool atmosphere. We ordered things and shared. It's middle road on price because portions are a good size on full orders. Service was exceptional. The place itself is old and run down. Booths seating is lined with tape holding it together and the bathroom needs an uplift even minimal at the very least. I'd still give high scores because it was a nice experience overall.
It's a good place. Needs some renovations. Old school Italian restaurant, bit outdated and dark, but I like dark. Overall the food is good. the Alfredo was a bit bland, the portions are good and the salad was good and the service was fine. I think the only had one server on staff when we got there about 5:30 PM. The server was rushing around trying to take care of the 6 or so tables at the time, alone, so I'll give him a break. 😁 I've eaten there before, and I'll eat there again. I know the pizza is really good and the egg plant parmesan is really good, from past experience. Of note, they do need to work on their bathrooms, hole in the door but a fancy motion activated hand towel dispenser. 🤣 priorities?
Lido Pizza is one of those classic staples of the valley that, thankfully, doesn't seem like it has fallen off. They are a cozy restaurant with low lighting to give a private feel while your party dines. The staff as always been attentive and a delight as well. On the whole it's the usual Italian restaurant. No frills just good solid food. Their pizza is always superb and their starters that I have tried have all been delicious. I dont feel there is more to add. Lido is a solid italian restaurant.
Small parking lot, easy to order over the phone, easy pick up. Food is always so good - they've been in business for a while and it seems like they have a lot of regulars. I especially love their lasagna but a lot of times the lasagna container ends up leaking or spilling on the side - most likely due to how its held, so the container gets bent in some way. The pizza I usually get with extra cheese and who wouldn't want that?! The medium pizza is 10 slices so it's just the right size for a group of 3 ppl with other stuff. They also don't take too long making the food so that's always a plus! If you're in the area, check this spot out!

Really good pizza, nice servers. Only downside is that it's got very expensive. Pasta is fresh and good.
Years ago this place used to make good pizza with real mozzarella, NOT anymore now they offer crappy pizza with cheap cheese. A real disappointment!

Lido’s pizza, part of the Chi-Chi's family, has been in the San Fernando Valley at this location since, what seems like, the dawn of time. We've been there a handful of times and order pizza from it as well through door dash and think the food is generally pretty good. You don't get much more San Fernando Valley old school then walking in to Lido's, even on the night we went, a Friday night in the rain which was as crowded as it could be. We also have enjoyed previously there curbside pick up, or actually there in parking lot pick up where you can order your food in advance, driving to the parking lot into a designated spot, call them, and they'll bring out your food as well as the credit card machine to charge you. At least that was great until they showed up on DoorDash which allows us to order from them without actually having to leave the house. Yay America! If you're looking for classic Italian food served with generous portions found this is the place for you. They had house-made pastas, including a gluten-free pasta, and gluten-free pizza down if that's your desire. I was really in the mood for a classic dish and got myself spaghetti with meatless red sauce. It had good flavor and the portion was generous. Though the pasta itself was slightly undercooked… A little more al dente then I would have liked it, which is a new experience for me with house-made pasta which I usually find to be pretty fresh. My wife ordered pasta Primavera with their gluten-free pasta. She thought everything was overcooked including the pastor and the vegetables. She felt it needed some kind of fatty elements such as oil or more butter or something. She was disappointed. Our 10-year-old add plain spring-shaped pasta which he liked a lot. The sourdough dinner rolls were awesome and especially good with the butter they came with. I also got myself a glass of the house Chianti which was good and very generously poured. We also ordered a cheese pizza, medium sized so my kid and I could enjoy a couple slices with our pasta and have the full Lido, classic Italian experience. I've noticed with many pizza places there is a tendency to not put enough sauce on, so I asked the waitress about this at the beginning, not wanting to get, per se, extra sauce, just wanting to make sure there was enough sauce on the pie to actually taste it. She assured me that they usually put a generous amount of sauce on the pie so I ordered it as is. When it came it had hardly any sauce at all on it it was disappointing and we sent it back. The crust itself was more "bready" then “pizza-crusty”, which, was not my preference for a pizza crust. All in all that was disappointing. So overall it was a bit of a mixed experience for us. We like the atmosphere… And when were in the mood for a classic Italian place this is a fun place to go with generally good food. I definitely would specify extra sauce for a pizza in the future, and my wife has high hopes that they wouldn't overcook everything that they served next time along.
Went here for first time to pickup a pizza this week. Loved the old school atmosphere and the pizza was quite good. What was not good was the $30 price point for a SMALL pizza. I'm no novice and qu…
First time visit...food and service was good...but the place needs a makeover from front door to backdoor. There is a difference between nostalgic and just old...chunks of the red ceiling missing, ripped leather booths, painted probably 20 years ago and carpet in the dinning section. At the end of the day it is a food establishment which should have cleanliness equally as important.
Last minute dinner plan... We ordered from this place only a few minutes from us. Online reviews seem great. When we got here the restaurant was pretty busy. The service was great. We ordered a gluten free pie and a regular pie with half cheese and half pepperoni. Also, some meatballs and a salad. The food overall was not great. I had higher expectations since the reviews were good. Also, I'm from NY so finding a good slice outside NY isn't always easy. The crust on the reg pie was like getting a $1 in NYC... Nothing anyone would come back for. The pizza just looked sloppy when we opened the box. They placed the cheese on top of all the pepperoni which made it event difficult to figure out which side was a reg cheese and which had pepperoni. The sauce... Can't even really talk about that.. it wasn't memorable. The GF pizza had olives and mushrooms. Again they covered the toppings with cheese... I could see the olives but until we bit into it...we thought they forgot the mushrooms... The GF pizza actually tasted a little better than their reg pie. That's a bit sad. Omg the salad.. felt like there was little to no effort on the salad. My favorite thing was the meatballs. However, they didn't include ANY marinara sauce with the meatballs... This was a bit of a head scratcher. Luckily I had some marinara in my pantry. The meatballs were not too dense. I've had better but these were not bad. Anyway, this was disappointing. Perhaps the other food here was good since the place was pretty busy. Considering "pizza" is in their name figured it was a safe bet to get that...
What happened? All the food does NOT taste like before! To salty or missing Love! Bring back the chef from the past!!! That cares about the food he is making!!! I’ve been coming to Lido Pizza since 1987… management do something before you loose all your customers!!! Your prices on your food should reflect taste of the meals!! Since your prices is on the very High side!!!!! $$$$
