I haven't been here in a while but their food is still good.

Known for their burgers, there are menu options for everyone. Quick and casual service for eat in or take out. Good food, excellent service, and reasonable prices. Trying their new Guacamole Crunchburger with Onion Rings. Been here many times!

This is my favorite place to eat burgers in town. The meat is simply amazing and i also really like the fries which are really crisp but also thick and potatoey if that makes any sense. It's quite crowded on the weekends but the wait usually isnt that long. Everything is freshly made and you can taste that

you can never go wrong with the habit. And I just love their onion rings. And I usually have a lettuce wrap. I do wish they would offer gluten-free buns however.

Great place, had to bump rating from 4 to 5 stars. I used to get a little too much of a char flavor on my burger. Something changed and it's awesome. Moreover- this place is pretty busy, for good reason, friendly service, good food, decent price, and fast service.

Ordered my "Regular" which is Ceasar Salad w/Ahi (Cooked Well) and the Green Beans were cooked exactly as I requested... The Staff were ALL very nice and hard workers! I was impressed with the cleanliness of this particular Habit Grill, and how the staff was scouring there place of business towards the end of their work day. They showed PRIDE in their work!!! 🙂VERY IMPRESSED!😊

This is a great but busy location. The food quality is always great as well as the service. Also enjoy as a truck driver that there is parking behind the business that allows me to park legally and enjoy a decent meal.

Every time, as a kid, I would get those gummy burger candies with my meal. I can't ever forget this place, the few times I did eat here after I grew out of the kids menu were delicious as well. One of the best burger chains around the area.

A great place to stop in and buy a 🍔 burger and fries 🍟. The service is quick and the food is hot. The employees are friendly and make you feel welcomed. I sometimes eat here instead of McDonald's or Burger King because they are usually less crowded. I stop in about once a week.

I haven't been here in a while but from what I do remember one of the best burger places in Ventura. Their BBQ burger is awesome and always perfectly cooked. The fries with their ranch dressing is a great couple. Not much room inside, better to eat outside. But I always visit this location when I go into town. Nothing can match the flavor. Prices are a bit higher than most burger places, expect about $10 for 1 person for Burger, fries and a medium drink. but completely worth it.

Stopped to purchase lunch while traveling. Ordered a veggie burger and tempura green beans. Both were prepared well and delicious. Adequate parking and friendly employees.

I LOVE The Habit! And specifically THIS location! It has become my weekly tradition after a long hard week of work and I could not have picked a better place. I drive past my local Habit just to come to this exact location instead. The staff and management are amazing, the food is always great, and the atmosphere is wonderful! We order online for curbside pickup. The food is always piping hot when we get it, shakes are still pretty solid and the staff is always really nice. My husband has Celiac and orders his burger lettuce wrapped, we've never had an incident of cross contaminating with his food from this location. It's great that we can trust a fast food place relating to food restrictions, we rarely can

I love the ease of ordering a salad online I can grab and go back to my office. The food is always good. I miss their super foods salad , bring that back please!

Ordered the super salad with extra chicken and asked for extra sauce. Its a decent portion. Enough for 2 days of lunch. And also ordered the sweet potato fries. Recommend ordering online its much faster. You dont have to wait too long and they let you know online with the timer when your order is done

Always the BEST !! The order line moves quickly, and is extremely friendly ! The kitchen area is open to view from the counter - so the cleanliness and the teamwork of staff is evident. A great burger restaurant! The size of the burgers are awesome & the cheese is melted just perfectly! They have other items to choose from like salads & fish sandwiches. The milk shakes are to die for!! You can do take out or dine outside at there patio seating. Definitely recommend.

Best burger in the USA according to consumer report magazine and I agree. Always a winner. The Santa Barbara Char as is could not ever be better. I highly recommend it. The staff are great, fast , clean and friendly, and the facility is clean with al fresco area. Order for pick up in advance from the easy to use App.and beat the wait. One of the finest Burger Joints in the USA. That's a fact. Enjoy from the first Crispy crunch to the last swig of soda. The fries and onion rings and deep fried breaded green beans are killer. This place is a winner.

Came here with the family !! 2 year old and I cobbled up the veggie burger and fries. Hubby ordered a Santa Barbara burger ♡ he said it was pure love !! Super friendly staff also :) couldn't be more satisfied. Highly recommend!

Stopped by on Labor Day around 5pm. Great customer service. I ordered the chicken sandwich on sourdough bread and it was heaven. The lettuce, onion and tomatoes were so fresh. One of the best chicken sandwiches I've had at any Habit.

Their new Santa Barbara Cobb salad is excellent, took a while to get use to, but I now like this one better than the previous. Stick with red wine vinaigrette they previously used as a default, as opposed to the ranch they now use. They have a first class and fast online order and pick up in-restaurant system.

Great burgers and sides. Clean and fresh tasting beef patties and excellent fries and onion rings. They have salads and veggie burger options as well as chicken and fish. I like The Habit over any other burger consistently. I like Shake Shack and In & Out too

The Habit has burgers that are at least as good as In 'n Out... maybe better! They cook them over an open flame grill, which gives the meat a lot of flavor, and they always taste delicious. Other sandwiches I've tried are their grilled chicken club and the steak sandwich... the chicken is a stand-out. They also offer a great cobb salad... it's meal size and very filling. They even have old-fashioned soft-serve vanilla ice cream cones... sooo good! The staff is friendly, the restaurant is always clean, and they have an outdoor patio where you can bring your dog. We love this place for a casual meal we always know will be good.

Nice burger spot, not much parking, but a small burger place. Made on the spot, lots of choices. Good service and clean spot to grab a quick burger and go. Way better than most drive thru places except IN n OUT, which is good every time and my favorite. Next best though.

I usually get the grilled ahi on sourdough. Drizzle some worcheschire on the fish and BOOM!!! Santa Barbara Cobb and charburger w/chz are 👍 too. I recently tried the impossible burger w/chz, crispy edges, and hot! Added teriyaki sauce and BOOM! 😀

Charburgers are the best! A great alternative to In & Out style thousand island taste. Teriyaki char is awesome. Dropping a star since I was just blind sided on being charged for ranch? Really?? WTH is up with that?

Quick serve burgers, sandwiches and salads. Food is consistently good. Kitchen is accommodating with changes and 'extras'. Staff is friendly and helpful. Our favorites are the grilled chicken sandwich, the burgers, and the Santa Barbara Cobb salad. And don't forget some onion rings!

Generally pretty good. Received frozen chicken sandwiches once but they made up for it. The amount of lettuce served per sandwich could be cut in half.

The food was good as usual...not so good service...I ordered 7 items of which 1 I needed it to be plain...did I get it plain...NO...so I said I just wanted cheese, meat and bun...the cashier said I told you to look at the receipt...why would do that of I specifically told you in your face twice what I wanted. The cashier ignored and so did another cashier with one of them offering me a new one..what did I get.....no cheese burger...ugh...NOT GOOD Service....we ate and left

Good burgers and fries, but only giving 3 stars because the last few times I've been there they messed up my order! Twice burgers had things in then that I asked them not to put in, and another time ordered a tri-tip sandwich on French roll, and when I got home it was on sourdough...I hate sourdough. Ended up giving it to roommate because I live a good distance away and didn't want to drive back. Called to complain and they basically said "our bad"!

Great food, and while the service is fast, it's also subpar. Was not allowed to re ring up an order to correct an issue with it and was forced to pay more for a meal than listed due to this. Know what you want and triple check the order before you pay and you should be good, but this shouldn't be an issue in the first place. Service tends to drop even more during the lunch and dinner rush and the location can become quite crowded as well. Again food is excellent as with all their locations, but even the worst McDonald's is able to fix your order.

We all love The Habit but this location is on a downward slide. They've made a habit out of getting orders wrong so make sure you double check everything when picking up. Ownership better train or replace management before we all vote with our dollars and go elsewhere including the superior location in downtown Ventura.

I work in Oxnard mostly but a few times a week I have to work in Thousand Oaks, and I live in Ventura. When I work in Thousand Oaks I sometimes stop at the Habit there. Amazing service, delicious, hot food, and extremely friendly staff! NO COMPLAINTS at this location! The Telephone rd. Location on the other hand is not good. I've gone twice, and both times the fries were soggy and cold, the staff is not friendly, and the burgers taste dry and flavorless. So I won't be returning to the Telephone rd. Location!!!

Uh Oh! Quality Slip Alert! This habit has been here for over a decade plus, but ohh boy has the quality gone down, and the prices wayyy up! Manager was militant about the ranch we paid for but didn't receive, demanding a receipt that THEY didn't provide. Upon receiving the "ranch" we noticed it had been heavily watered down to the point of being runny, not adhering to our food. I'm labeling this one avoid until improved.

My 🍟 were not hot oily undercooked. Cold in five minutes of getting my order. My hamburger was better then mc D's but under seasoned I couldn't even tell if there was pepper or salt on it it was very bland but fresh and hot. Do better please. P.s. the young man that created was friendly and he smiled the other two ladies in front had no smile on their face at all not very welcoming.

Stopped for dinner 6:00 on a Sunday evening, dining room not clean. Tables not wiped off, floor dirty with trash. Didn’t feel like staying to eat inside. They must need more help!!!

Orderd the Chars & Bites Bundle for pickup. We customized two of the burgers removing some ingredients. All four burgers were made the same. Wasn't going to drive back and unfortunately two of burgers didn't get eaten.

First of all I will say that I love the Habit and for the most part everything I have ever ordered has been delicious. My complaint is regarding the amount of salad I received. A coworker and I placed an online order for two BBQ Southwest Chicken salads. They put them in a nice big container but when we opened it we were both very disappointed to see how little lettuce and chicken they put in. For an almost $10 salad I feel we got ripped off.

I used to love Habit.y office was about 10 blocks away. Since I retired I went there today. About 12:30 pm I ordered double burger Combo. The meat was dry and way over cooked. Seems like the burgers had been sitting a long time. The fries were way over cooked and crispy. I don't like my fries hard and snappy. Buns were too hard and char broiled. I was truly disappointed. I would rather not have lettuce at all than chopped up fine. Not sure if I will being going back to the Habit. Especially for a burger.

Wife and kids enjoyed their food but mine was sloppily thrown together; bun was soggy and taste of the bbq bacon burger was off. Ordered onion rings which are normally excellent but these were hockey pucks. I could not bite a single one. Very disappointed with Habit that normally is consistently in putting out quality food from our experiences.

Generally good but the leave stuff out of your order sometimes. If you make a request for a refund you'll never hear from them. Wrt the suggestion that I should contact them on the form, I did that 2 weeks ago. I waited a week for help (none was offered) before I wrote this review.

Got a random extra sandwich and fries and onion rings i didn't order. My burger that was soggy and complete wrong, the most soggy burger I've ever seen in my life I couldn't even eat it. Kinda ruined my whole day. I love the habit I'm not going to this habit ever again out of spite cause that burger made me want to vomit.

Just ordered a chicken ceasar salad. Someone needs to tell the chef that ceasar salads come with dressing, parmesan cheese and croutons, all of which were missing from my salad. Thank God they didn't forget the chicken. So I had a chicken and raw salad lunch. I'll never order again at the habit on telephone. Folks get your food somewhere else, that is, if you want to get what you ordered.

Lack of customer service from this location. They were busy and did not mind showing that they were stressed. I asked for condiments on the side and the woman passing out the food was very rude, grabbing my sides, placing them on the table and pretending like I wasn't there. When I asked for another ranch, she said "I'm almost out.". I requested 1 more and she rudely placed it on the table and began talking to other people. She may have been the manager (wearing black polo). She needs to be retrained on customer service and learn to not take her stress out on her customers. Disappointed with the service.

I work right across this location and our store employees including me are a regular customer. They messed up the big birthday order (in fact they never get our order right. They either overcharge or mess up regular order) two weeks ago and we addressed it to them. The manager gave free burger coupons as an apology and I went there to order today and use that coupon. The team gave one less burger than mentioned in coupon and I stood there for five mins waiting for someone to approach me but they all ignored me. I had to approach and ask someone and when I did she said I can wait in line and pay for that last burger. I had more than four burgers and she have me two ranch so I asked for more and she said she don’t have anymore and that they’re out of it as I’m seeing other employee passing ranches out to other customers. I checked the order once I got home and half of the sandwiches didn’t have tomatoes in it. At this point, I think they didn’t put tomatoes on purpose. I don’t care about how many burgers she gave me nor do I care about the tomatoes. I care about the inhumane act of all the employees in every possible way. I work at a salon and I know what it takes for customer service and definitely doesn’t include ignoring customers. I request that you train employees at the register enough to not act this way.

Habit Management, My Family and I attended your Telephone Rd location and I've never experience such an unprofessional Staff. As I repeated my order to the cashier and he conversed with his Co-Worker about leaving early. The male cashier, still manage to get my order incorrect and instead of a Teriyaki chicken sandwich I got a Teriyaki Char Burger, mind you I repeated my order twice. When my ticket was called (#15) and the server handed me my food, I notice the chicken on my salad had some red (blood veins of the chicken) I was going to feed my 7 month old some of the chicken, their fore I let her know the chicken was still raw and if they can recook the chicken. The server herself said to me, you can keep it or toss the salad yourself? I decided to keep the salad to not waist food. As I went back to serve my drinks both the cook and server were speaking Spanish about my order and how their was no problem with the chicken. The server then responds back saying I was complaining so that I can get a FREE MEAL!! I go back to my table to give them the salad back and let her know Im not looking for a free meal but for the chicken to be cooked correctly. They had also fail to give me a cup for my sons kids meal which she seamed irritated when I asked her for a cup, her responds was (didn't they give you a cup already). Last I asked for a copy of my receipt which I never received after paying. Staff also made a big fuss and the same server, (not sure if shes aware of her tone of voice) was asking the cashier why I wanted the receipt and that he should of asked why I needed a copy? Non the less this will be a location not to come back to. I hope Management takes the time to retrain Staff on customer service etiquette and that they also provide a happy work place for their employees, as sometimes our employees can be a reflection of our own Management skills!

Not enough food false advertising on proportions way over priced budget tasting food.

I ate here a couple days ago and I’ve been sick every since.

EDIT: It's been over a month since the owner said they'd "follow up" with their "team". No change. This is not a mistake or a mystery, as the owner's response implies. Absolutely deliberate. If they ever restore their system to the way it was or even add back in the "extra" options for a charge, I will return. But I am tired of this kind of sneaky business practice and will not reward the dishonesty. One more star removed for trying to deceive with a response to the review. Unfortunately, Habit has limited the customization options - probably to save a few pennies without telling their customers they're getting less. Shrink-flation, I guess. One of the main reasons I used to go to the Habit often for lunch was the ease of adding extra tomatoes, pickles, etc. This is no longer possible. There were no other obvious changes to the online ordering setup, so I guess their web master was specifically directed to remove those options. It clearly is not a mistake. The change could have been to charge 25 cents for extra veggies or something like that, but then they would have to be honest and admit the cost increased. Instead, sneaky tactics were employed to provide less for the same money without it being obvious. This is happening in many restaurants - even worse at some of them - but these tactics are way too close to bait-and-switch for me to be ok with them. Customers get upset when prices go up, but too bad. This is how business works. Cost goes up, prices go up. Reducing portions or removing options for free add-ons is just a way to increase profit without customers suspecting their dollar is not going as far. I never expected the Habit to join in with these dishonest business people, but here we are. If you are going to reduce what is offered for the same price folks were paying before the change, just tell the customers! Be honest! Have some integrity. Until Habit decides to do the right thing and be transparent with its customers, I will be eating elsewhere.

customer service extremely unfriendly and rude! we ordered online and chose to have our food made 15 min later so it would be fresh when we arrived. our fries were soggy and cold like they'd been sitting and for some reason they werent able to make my shake. when i asked for a refund they told me i had to request a refund via email??? i asked for help and she basically refused and just told me to figure it out. probably will never go back and its not the first time theyve served us old food. upset bc this place used to be so good. it was also really dirty inside literally every table was filthy i rather eat in my car

Just got my meal at 12:15 Friday June 3rd. They served my daughter rotten chocolate milk luckily I tried it. Please parents try your kids drink before you give it to them my daughter would of drank it if I had not tried it first.

If there would be a minus rating, i would give a negative 5 to the manager Mariann. Service is the worse, i just went and placed 2 orders in the kiosk. Mariann rude and unpleasant, to be a manager. Once my order was ready, I asked her for 2 bbq sauce she said the second one will cost $.65 cents. She said you get 1 sauce for two orders or one bbq sauce for 2 custumers!!!! She is not making sense at all or she might be under the influence that she is not thinking right? So upset Habit selects this type of person with no manager skills or custumer service. To top it off it is filthy inside as well as the drinking area and condiment disgusting. Wondering if the Health department has done a routine inspection but it will be a good idea reporting it to make the place welcoming and clean.

Place in order to go did not get what I asked for I asked for no lettuce. No tomato and ketchup got no ketch up. Got all lettuce and all tomato. You spent $17. Get the order correct. Repeated twice before the call was ended.

This used to be good, years ago. Very sad. The quality of the food has gone downhill. But worst of all, it is filthy inside. Absolutely disgusting. I wouldn't be surprised if the health department shuts it down. The employees are rude, the drink area and condiment area was so gross it was horrifying. They put in self-serve ordering kiosks as well: so from the time I walked into the time I left was almost 90 minutes. It's supposed to be "fast food". If I want to have a 90-minute experience, I will go to a nice restaurant. Very sad- this place used to be good.

Absolutely unacceptable. I came to try the plant based impossible burger because I am vegan, but I have to say that I am repulsed. I don't eat animals, so when I found bacon at the bottom of my burger I was disgusted and disappointed in this location's lack of caring. Not ok! I nearly bit into the bacon before I saw it, because of this incident I won't be coming back.

The Take-out service is horrible. Make sure you double check your stuff you will very likely be missing items on your order and the fries to go are horrific they seemed way undercooked. Just saying the Take-out option isn’t a good option when ordering from the habit. Plus the burger tasted weird and after one bite I had to throw it in the garbage the meat got stuck in my throat I almost felt the need to go to the hospital I couldn’t breathe right since it was stuck in my throat.
