Came in tonight after some rough situations and I was really craving some steak. Im only in town for the night so I walked across the street. I ordered their bone-in ribeye medium. Lacey asked me what I thought, I said it was a little under but it was fine. I cut it all up because I was going to take it back and microwave it. Next thing I know the manager Kirsten came over because Lacey wasnt going to let me eat a pricey steak just to microwave it later. They took my steak back and it was cooked PERFECT. Lacey and the manager handled it amazing. I am not someone to speak up and I'll just deal with my decisions but Lacey made sure I was taken care of, regardless of what I said. Even kirsten asked with the second one, "is it actually better or are you just being nice?"

EVERYTHING these guys make is fire. Incredible menu and the staff makes you feel like home. This place is going to kill it get there and try it for yourself!

Outstanding Steak in Portland Jawfish Restaurant absolutely delivered on every level. I had the steak and it was cooked to absolute perfection—so tender it cut like butter with just a butter knife. The quality of the meat was exceptional, and the preparation showed real skill in the kitchen. Beyond the outstanding food, the atmosphere was welcoming and the service was attentive without being intrusive. This is the kind of place that gets the fundamentals right, which makes all the difference. If you’re looking for a great steak in Portland, Jawfish should be at the top of your list. I’m already planning my next visit.

Went yesterday 01/04 for lunch and it was amazing. My sister and I both had the steelhead fish and chips and it was fresh and flaky. Quick service and friendly staff. We will definitely be back to try other items on the menu.

My husband and I ordered some food to go from Jawfish when we were staying at the Sojourn, which is attached. The food was very good and the service was great! I had the Mac and Cheese with steak bites and my husband has the pepperoni pizza. Both were delicious.

Our first trip… we started with oyster shooters. Then we shared their house salad and we had the pork chop and cioppino. It was delicious! The service was great. Everyone was friendly and the food came out hot from food runners. There were owners or managers walking through checking on things. Drinks were filled and plates cleared. We had the chocolate torte and vanilla ice cream to finish. It was superb. Worth the price. We look forward to going back soon.

If you're looking for a new comfortable place to meet with friends or celebrate a special occasion, this is the spot. Its relaxed enough to not feel stuffy but upscale enough to not feel like a slouch. The prices are more than reasonable for the quality and quantity. The food is some of the most tasty ive had in quite awhile, and thats coming from a serious eater lol even my man who is notoriously picky ate his whole meal. Dani, our server, was phenomenal. Friendly, knowledgeable and prompt. She didnt constantly hover, she knows what the chef prepared is good... when she did ask how we were doing, she waited until our mouths werent full! We will for sure be making this a regular stop, especially with the hours💜

From the time we entered the door, the greeter made us feel welcomed. She offered us to choose our seat and told us the restaurant opened recently. The space is new and clean. Tim, our server, was professional and prompt. We enjoyed our lunch and the restaurant service. Thank you Tim and the greeter (I forgot her name). We'll come back again!

Just had an epic dinner at Jawfish with a crew of 15 — and spoiler: this place delivers. We ordered every Shared Plate (seriously, every one) and a big mix of entrées, and not a single dish fell short. From the grilled & chill shrimp to the Korean teriyaki steak bites and all the flavor bombs in between, every bite hit — inventive, satisfying, and full of personality. The shared plates alone are worth the trip. Service was top-tier — attentive, friendly, genuinely dialed in, which made the night feel fun, seamless, and celebratory. Staff made us feel welcome and valued as soon as we walked in the door and throughout our dinner. Convivial atmosphere, clean and new. Upscale vibe. Prompt service, creative dishes and good cocktails that included local spirits. Had no idea they had been open less than a week; operations were smooth and our overall experience was very good. Highly-recommend the wood-fired cornbread with fig truffle butter as a starter!

Cool atmosphere and awesome staff. The manager is super friendly and was engaged with all the customers. The taquitos were delicious and the overall service was excellent and fast. My only critique was that the portion sizes between menu items varied considerably. It’s in a great location for both PDX layovers and locals and I think the selection will please a variety of palates.

Great spot for casual dining, fun atmosphere. I had the Thai salad. It was tasty, ratio of noodles was pretty heavy, would prefer a real salad experience. However, it was fresh and tasty. Greeter and server very nice.

The atmosphere was inviting, and our wait staff was tentative and pleasant. Looking forward to returning and trying more of the menu in the near future!

We went in around 4:30 and the place was not busy. The staff made us feel so welcome. The place is beautiful, the staff super friendly and happy. The shared plates we had during happy hour were fantastic. We had the tempura asparagus and green beans and they were not greasy and just super tasty. We also did the Jaw Fries with cheese, garlic, fried onions and a wonderful dipping sauce. Overall this is a spot we will definitely try again on our next visit to Portland.

Perfect spot for a nice dinner and date night! Such a great experience! My only wish was that I had room for more because everything on the menu looked so good and I had a hard time narrowing it down. We got the Sirloin steak with mashed potatoes, fried chicken, thai sesame pork and the thai sesame salad. Meat temp came out a perfect medium rare. Potatoes were creamy and delicious. My partner really enjoyed the fried chicken's coating and the pesto. And of course we had to save room for dessert! I normally dont jump at the idea of a key lime pie, but it was heavily recommended and I'm so glad we got it. So bright, creamy and delicious! We also got a couple of espresso martinis, which are my go to cocktail and they were so well executed! Service and staff were equally as impressive, i wait to try out more of the dishes as this has became a new favorite spot for date nights! Wish i took pictures to share, but was too busy enjoying our time! Well done, Jawfish!!

First time here. Food was great. Service was quick, polite, and thorough. It's a new restaurant (about 2-3 months old). A little loud (probably because it was busy - even for early dinner at 4:30pm) but we didn't mind. Definitely would come back.

Here from out of town on business trip, and decided to try this restaurant. Had fish and chips and it was fresh and delicious. The server we had Kasia was awesome and very prompt with her service. Eric, the manager greeted us along with the hostess. He was warm and welcoming, especially to my grandson. Dani, our server, was easy going and friendly. She brought water to the table quickly and checked on us frequently before, during and after our meal. The food was delicious. Coconut shrimp, fish n chips and the seafood medley soup were all wonderful. The children enjoyed the food as well. The atmosphere was great! It's a huge place with fun decor and tables are well spread out for comfort and easy conversation. We will be back as there were many menu items we'd like to try. Well done JawFish!

Such a great place to dine at. The restaurant staff are so nice and made my family and I feel really comfortable. Great food!! Their pizza was so so good I had to order another one to take home! I should have also got the California Ribeye steak.. after seeing it come out to another table it made my mouth water just from the smell and look at it!! Their drink also top notch! The staff was very attentive, courteous, and really nice. And the food and drinks were excellent. My friend said it was the best pork chop she had ever had, my steak was cooked to perfection, and the GF torte was really delicious. The prices were reasonable, too. And there was ample parking and the lot was easy to maneuver. I will definitely return.

I went opening day and this restaurant exceeded my expectations. With any business I always assume there’s going to be a lot of figuring things out the first few weeks, but I was beyond impressed with how dialed in they had their menu and service. Honestly, our waitress was one of the best I’ve had anywhere, she was so personable and kind, and the chef even came out to talk to us about our meal it was so wonderful and really added to the experience. The food was also 10 out of 10 and that is saying something because living in the area we are pretty picky with our food. This will probably end up being our go to spot for birthdays, anniversaries, and other celebrations. I’m so excited that they are here now!

New favorite place!! My Father-In-Law found this gem, and we're so glad he did. The atmosphere is very chill. Tables are spaced comfortably. There's lots of seating and even a large room you can reserve for special occasions, which comes with multiple courses and an interactive experience. The food was SO good, and the staff is so friendly and does a great job! Dani is so sweet and took amazing care of us!! We will be highly recommending this place to friends and family, and will be back soon!

Went today for the first time( Sunday 12pm) with my 80yr old aunt who uses a cane. Parking for disabled was very easy as was the entrance and seating, all smooth. The atmosphere was lively and uplifting without being intrusive. The bathrooms were simply awesome, very nice plentiful fixtures and clean. We both had the steelhead fish and chips which was I believe the best I've had, slaw, everything great. She got the 2pc and I got the 4, both had water and I had a pop. The bill was under $35 and they brought us 4 side sauces. Service was right there and friendly and the booths were clean and comfy. We look forward to returning.

Very attentive and friendly service. The menu is somewhat small but there are really great options to choose from. I had a very hard to deciding what to order. The Jawfries are a "must try". The Korean steak bits were terrific - very rich. Be sure to order a side of rice. Really nice beer selection. We are going back tonight to order cocktails and try a dessert.

Our first experience was delightful, and we already want to return! Korean steak bites arrived sizzling, were smoky in flavor, and paired perfectly with a side of steamed rice - to enjoy *all* the sauce in the mini iron skillet. Fig and prosciutto pizza topped with arugula was perfectly baked with a crunchy and soft crust, with hints of sweetness. The truffle oil gave the dish an umami vibe - a little of each flavor that the mouth loves to taste! Service was outstanding. Both attentive and engaging, without being bothersome. Well priced and appointed, perfect for a romantic meal or gathering of friends.

The steak was seared accompanied by mushrooms in a cast iron finished with a teriyaki that gave it a fusion flavor my table really enjoyed. The fry was a spiral but potato seasoned and deep fried. With house made sauces. Great way to change up a traditional fri! For dinner my table had 5 cheese Mac with bacon topper the fried chicken burger with sweet potato fries and the pork chop toped with a cranberry compote and auto grauten potato's. The pork chop was so tender and juicy. Plenty of flavor as a stand alone but the cranberry was perfect. We had the fritter donut holes to finish the night. And one more drink to finish the night. I will be back for more!

As a long time fan of Beaches I was very excited when I saw this place and the similarities on the menu! We came to check it out and were not disappointed… The service was attentive and professional, the food was outstanding and the drinks were delicious! The vibe is different enough that it doesn’t feel like a copycat of Beaches, but it definitely filled the void that it left for me when they closed. I will definitely be back

Wow, Great food and warm, fun atmosphere! Food is much higher quality than the prices would suggest. Sauces made in house, definitely try the honey mustard. Salmon was cooked perfectly in the salmon BLT With artisan style bread and fresh cooked bacon. Definitely worth your visit!

Glass should be served on a plate so it catches the crumbling parts for you to eat. Was nice and quiet til themusiccame on.

The food was delicious, I had the half rack of ribs and ate every last bite of food off my plate. The atmosphere was cozy and the staff were friendly. I lost my wallet and was able to call and have them hold it for me till I could return. I was so relieved when I finally got it back, I was extremely satisfied with the level of and the quality of service they provided. Five stars, I can't wait to come again

Its by the airport so it is a bit pricey but the staff was absolutely 10/10 and the atmosphere for lunch was very enjoyed. Their pizza was to die for.

This is a gorgeous space and very vibey. It feels high end. We ordered: Clam chowder - amazing flavor and good sized portion for my husband and I. Cornbread - the cornbread itself is very good, not dry and portion is sized well. The butter is a bit more on the niche flavored side, I personally really liked it but it could be a bit much for those who have a more simple flavor palette. Pepperoni pizza- it unfortunately, missed the mark. I’m not sure what seasoning or special cheese was used, but it was entirely overpowering. It almost seemed smoky or something bbq-esque? I couldn’t tell because it’s just cheese and pepperoni, but something being added is not good. Service wasn’t phenomenal, especially since it wasn’t busy at all. Our server was just very slow moving. She was polite and friendly but watching her do tasks such as make drinks and deliver food, she had no urgency or pep in her step. We will return as other items on the menu interested us in trying.

The food was really good. Some flavorful dishes and drinks that definitely hit the spot. That said, since it’s the same cooks (or so I’ve heard) from Beaches Restaurant, the menu feels very similar and a lot of the flavors taste the same. Not necessarily a bad thing if you’re already a fan, just something to note. The staff was friendly, and we recognized a lot of familiar faces, which made it feel welcoming. Service was a little slow, considering it not being very busy, but everyone was kind and attentive. The bar area has a nice, open, colorful ambiance that makes it a great place to hang out. We’ll definitely be back to check out happy hour.

We really wanted to love Jawfish, especially because we’d heard it was similar to Beaches, which set our expectations pretty high. There were definitely some bright spots. The steak bites were exactly how we remembered them from Beaches—perfectly cooked, flavorful, and easily the standout of the meal. Truly fantastic and worth ordering. We also tried a burger, a chicken sandwich, and the Jawfish fries. While everything looked incredible when it arrived (seriously, the presentation was on point), the flavors didn’t quite live up to the visuals. The burger and chicken sandwich were both a bit underseasoned and slightly dry, and the fries, while crispy, could have used a little more seasoning to really make them pop. Service was a bit uneven, though it seemed to be more about timing than effort. We came in during a shift change on a very slow Sunday, so things felt a little disjointed and not as attentive as they probably are during peak hours. Overall, Jawfish has a lot of potential—the atmosphere is great, the food looks amazing, and the steak bites alone show they can absolutely nail it. With a bit more consistency in seasoning and service, this could easily be a spot we’d come back to again

My hubby and I stopped in the first time a couple weeks ago. The host sat us, but never gave us menus. I got the attention of the lady manager after we had sat for 15 minutes. I asked for drinks, menu and our server. Mind you, this was at 11:15 am. Our server finally came around and we ordered the veggie pizza, steak bites and sesame pork. The food was delicious. The server, Chelsea didn’t check on us and once we were done i had to ask the bartender for the check, she took my card and finally after 15 minutes the server came back with my card. We decided to give it another try but with a bigger party. Big mistake! Our group was not impressed at all! My hubby and I shared the 20oz bone in steak ( online said 22oz) mashed potatoes and flash flora. The steak was cut off the bone and It definitely wasn’t 20-22oz, the potatoes were the worst I’ve ever tried and the veggies weren’t edible. I spent over $100 with the tip added due to the party of 6. Waste of money! Our server was not experienced and she wasn’t sure about anything. Hopefully you good can do better!

This place has potential. The service was rough but the food was great. I never received my soup which was unfortunate and still on the check and my second beer I ordered during apps came after dinner was over (she blamed the bartender but when there’s only three tables in the restaurant you’d think we’d be checked on more frequently to know the beer never arrived). The waitress that was our primary person didn’t attend to us but a hostess came by and was checking on us which seemed nice. Fix your service and you’ll do much better. Service typically sucks in Portland but train them and it’ll come together.

We went for Valentine’s Day. I ordered the steak medium rare. It came out well done. My server took it back to have remade but it took so long and my husband and our friends already finished their food and by then I was over it. They gave us 10% off for the inconvenience. The popcorn kalbi chicken was mid, it came on top of French fries? Which is not listed on the menu. The corn bread came out with burnt edges. Also stick to one theme. Like they had Asian food, fish, steak, pasta, pizza? Likely never to go back here again.

I wanna be a little bit careful on this review. Because I would like more restaurants to survive in Portland. Overall, I gave this restaurant a three because their service in the atmosphere was really nice. The food on the other hand was OK. I would suggest that it’s palatable, but not memorable. Also, their drink pours are measured. Hopefully this review will help guide them to improving the experience. One last thing, the waitress really pushed for their signature appetizer called tidbits. I’m not sure why, The serving was small, but it was kind of tasty.

I had the pizza and it was not good, very bland sauce and cheese, the other toppings had no flavor and the dough reminds me of highschool food.

Food was just meh. Had an unseasoned chicken sandwich and wife had blackened tuna. Her tuna was cold and no way it had been freshly blackened. Won't be back.

So when deciding to go here I didn't realize it was a hotel restaurant. There are very few decent places to dine in this area so gave it a try. I may be a little critical because I know what fine dining is and what amazing dishes taste like. That being said, it was good. The decor was pretty cool and our waitress was very attentive and polite. Give it a try and let folks know what you think.

Beautiful restaurant, nice staff… and food that simply shouldn’t be eaten by humans. The menu is everything that’s wrong with American restaurants: they try to cram sugar and fat into every single bite. Nearly every dish is fried, over-fried, smothered in mayo goop, or served with a mayo goop sauce on the side. Even the salmon fillet came with some strange mayonnaise drizzle spread over it. There were four guys in my group, all starving, so we ordered a variety of dishes. The Thai “salad” was basically a pile of noodles topped with fried wontons — a noodle-and-wonton “salad.” You should be ashamed to present that as anything resembling a healthy dish, especially in a country battling an obesity epidemic. No one in our party liked the food. Not a single dish landed. Even the steak bites were bad — served in a tiny cast-iron dish drowning in an oily, sugary “Korean” sauce. Very disappointing, especially for an area that could really use more good lunch options.

Sat near the bar in a 2 person booth, sat there for 30-40 min with no service! Extremely disappointed and wouldn’t come here again. Server looked at us multiple times and just ignored our table. Will not be returning!

Probably one of the worst restaurants I ever eat at got fish and chips and you steal head fish that was not advertising at all.Should be cooked with white fish.My brother in law got the shrimp that's grilled and chilledHe said it tasted like it's been in the freezer for days.In fact, he got an upset stomach from it.I recommend saving your money.Do not go there.I will never go there again

I really wanted to like this place. It was nice and clean inside, so it has that going for it. Beyond that, the employees were nice. The service wasn't great, it was slow and they seemed to not be very knowledgeable of the menu. The food also all came out at different times, so some people in our party were waiting 5 or so minutes for their food to be delivered after others in our party got theirs. Speaking of the food, here are our thoughts: The burger and fries were delivered cold The steelhead fish and chips were overcooked The quinoa bowl lacked flavor The sanora salad was delivered with all the toppings on the side when asked for dressing on the side The starter salad and soup of the day on the lunch menu on the website isn't offered in the restaurant They only offer soup/chowder in cups, not bowls The mini corn dogs and fries seemed to be the only thing ordered that was enjoyed, even though we were charged incorrectly for it. Maybe it was an off day for them, but I won't need to go back.

When I say the food was bland I mean to tell you guys that there was NO seasoning on the food what so ever. We had to send stuff back and ask if they can put anything from back on there to jazz it up, anything 😩😩😮‍💨😮‍💨. They tried but after a few times trying to eat it I gave it up and gave it back. The five cheese Mac and Cheese was like eating plane old cheesy water 🤮. But the reason why they got at least one star was the dessert saved them, that almond Roca ice cream they had It was pretty good. We all said it was the best thing we ate that night....(and it was nine of us eating) Ohhh and the steak bites were good'ish maybe a little too sweet we ordered four of them (just ask for the horseradish with it on the side) The workers were wonderful though 😉👍. Hope you guys enjoy it and they said they're still working on the food menu soooo hopefully it'll get better soon 🤞
