Opinions de Katy's Creek Walnut Creek
The Icelandic Benedict is awesome. The smoked salmon appears to be hot smoked with great flavour. The sauce is well executed and it does not hurt that there are three eggs poached to perfection.
Katy's Kreek is a great meeting place. It has a comfortable vibe that is good for families and friends. The menu has plenty of options so it is good for all types of appetites.
Everyone should have a go-to for breakfast and this is mine. It's also a wonderful brunch spot with a great menu, huge portions and very friendly staff. We went on New Year's Day and the staff were all so warm and inviting even though it was a holiday and the place was quite busy. You'll be amazed at the ambience and how large the space is when you first walk in. Tons of unique items and kitschy decor are everywhere and it's just such a perfect environment for a brunch spot. The pancakes and extensive Benedict options are highly recommended. If you're looking for a breakfast or brunch place in Walnut Creek you have found it.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Katy’s Creek in Walnut Creek is always a great choice for a family brunch ☕🥞 or a casual business briefing 💼. The wait staff is consistently kind and efficient 😊, often remembering our favorite hot beverages thanks to our regular visits—which says a lot about their service. Street parking is usually easy to find in the early mornings 🚗, making it perfect for a quick meal. Cozy vibe 🪑✨, reliable food, and welcoming service keep us coming back ❤️.
First time visiting today, we barely walked in the front door before we were told we could pick out seating, so the seating was fast. Service was fast too, the food was delicious! My kiddo had (obviously) Nutella Belgian Waffle with strawberries, bananas, and whipped cream. She was sad she couldn't finish the last quarter of the waffle 😆 My boyfriend had the Calamari Burger with country potatoes, he absolutely loved it, his only complaint was that the calamari itself should've been at the bottom and the tomato evenly spread in-between or at the top as he felt the tomato overpowered the calamari itself and the calamari should be the first thing you taste not the tomato, but other than that he loved his burger and the in house tartare sauce. I had the Icelandic Salmon Eggs Benedict, it was delicious! I literally feel sad that I finished it because it was so good! I see a lot of people commenting on the coffee, I'm an avid coffee drinker but I always make a rule to not have high hopes for coffee in any breakfast restaurant, that way if its actually good, its a nice little surprise. The coffee here was decent, but not horrible. If you want more "fru fru" coffee, then I'd only suggest to visit Cafe places that specialize in it, other than that, it was still enjoyable. Overall, my family and I had a wonderful time and great first experience, we'll definitely be back! The staff was nice, service was quick, food delicious!
Our recent breakfast visit to Katie's Kitchen in Walnut Creek was nice! The Egg Benedict was cooked to perfection - absolutely delicious! The hamburger made with certified Angus beef. The patty was generous, juicy, and full of flavor. While the restaurant can get a bit crowded, the ambiance is warm and inviting. If you're in Walnut Creek, Katie's Kitchen is a must-visit for breakfast or brunch. Be prepared for a possible wait, but trust us, it's worth it!
Love this place! Been here a couple of times so far. First time, I got the steak and eggs. They unfortunately overcooked the steak but it tasted fine otherwise. Second time, I got the Santa Fe Benedict with bacon (pictured) with country potatoes and it was delicious! The restaurant was packed but we got our food within 10 mins of ordering and the staff were all nice.
Had breakfast and it was delicious. I ordered the Icelandic Benedict, checkout the photo. Coffee was very good. I then ordered the French toast customized without any frills, just cinnamon; it was devine. I definitely recommend Katy's for breakfast. Lots of tables so seating should move at decent pace on weekends. Enjoy the atmosphere, as it can be stimulating to check out the framed pictures and the hustle of the staff.
Pretty good food, and a nice atmosphere. It was quiet when I was there, and we sat in their seating area where you can see the street. Ordered the corned beef hash with poached eggs and the quality of the beef was well over what I was expecting for the dish! Everything tasted exceptional too.
Excellent breakfast. All breakfast menu options are tasty and large portion. Service is good with very friendly staff. The menu is the same as Katy's Corner in San Ramon.
Went with a large group and every one enjoyed their food. But I ordered the dungeness crab Benedict. The crab tasted like it came from a can. Not fresh. Also had Bloody Mary, but again, tasted like they just use store bought bloody Mary mix. With that said, the food was good, atmosphere great, and service was excellent.
This place is nice. Been here a few times. Bloody Mary's are ok. Food is good, good breakfast both times. The fish and hash browns breakfast dish (cant remember the exact name) is fabulous. Its my favorite after having it once it was so good. The pancakes are good too. Its a cute spot, does get busy on the weekends.
First time at Katy's Kreek to check out the best benedicts. I agree that the classic eggs benedict dish is awesome and tasty. I had the dungeness crab spinach benedict - while it was good and you get 3 eggs (instead of 2), I think the crab could have used a bit more seasoning. The home fries were decent but I wouldn't say the best I've had at any brunch place. Service was great. We came in 30 mins before closing time and they accommodated us.
It was a very mixed meal. My guest ordered the Lobster Benedict. It looked fabulous. The eggs done perfectly, but the lobster was over cooked, stringy and inedible. Very disappointing. I got the corned beef and hash with two over medium eggs. It was tasty, but again, the corned beef was cooked separately from the cottage style red potatoes. Not really a hash, but it tasted good. So, it was a mixed review. Next time, I will order the pancakes!
Loved the decor/atmosphere! Ordered the Bacon, Avocado, Cheese Omelet. It was cooked a bit too long for my taste and the avocado is cooked in the mixture instead of ontop. The country potatoes were PHENOMENAL! I dunno how or what they put in them, but they were the best I've eaten in my life. Very friendly staff too.
Overall the food was good, however the house potatoes included with the Irish Benedict were cold when they reached me and I've never seen Hollandaise sauce that color. The Swedish Pancakes were excellent and the kid's pancakes were satisfying for the little one.
I googled for best breakfast places in WC and this restaurant came up. Too bad I didn’t look at the reviews. We were the only people is this cavernous, chilly restaurant. I ordered eggs with salsa and avocado. I had a very difficult time finding eggs amongst the ridiculous amount of tortilla chips. Difficult to understand charging $20 for basically a bag of fried tortilla chips with a tiny amount eggs and feta cheese.
It was nice to get a table right away but the food was lackluster. Service was fine, we had plenty of room, we were comfortable but the food was meh. I got vegetarian eggs benedict and it was smothered with onions and avocado. Kind of a weird combo. It wasn't for me.
Average typical American brunch place. I got the tuna supreme with salad and coffee. Coffee was average. They were generous with the tuna but flavor was mild. Bottom slice of bread was soggy from sitting on plate I guess. It wasn't as cheesy and melty as I would like.
The place was busy, the staff was very nice and accommodating. Omelets are a tricky affair, and when the option of egg whites is offered, the omelet becomes trickier than just replacing whole eggs with egg whites. My point is that it is much harder to make a good omelet when you disregard the yoke. Having said that, I do appreciate that they have the egg whites option. I have to mention that if you're not a bacon or ham person, your options are very limited, unfortunately that was our case, so we ended up with almost the same dish not because the dish was amazing but because it was the one without bacon or ham. 2023 and still so much ham/bacon on the menu.
Read reviews and decided to try this place. I didn’t like anything. Food is low quality. The pancake batter is awful. The texture feels like rubber in your mouth. Bacon was cold and burned a little. Coffee gave me heartburn and it’s awful like several people said. Waitresses are not trained well and the hostess looked like she doesn’t want to be there. I’ll never come back. There are so many great places on that street. I don’t know who gave them four stars. We can’t trust reviewers anyway. They have low standards.
