Holy Smokes Bourbon and BBQ

The barbeque was all perfectly cooked. The brisket Philly and brisket poutine were the standouts. Food leans a little on the sweet side of barbecue, I prefer a bit more spicy/vinegar, but it was well done so I was loving it. Glad we got a chance to try this place, they are usually closed Sunday, shout out to the staff for looking out for us on the weekend of the eclipse!

Beat place in town. Real food and a great price. 3 of us can eat for $50. Love how the meals come with drinks and w sides. The owner even remembered my son's picky food choices and how he doesn't like his food to touch. If we lived closer we would visit more frequently. Right now we go in about 1x a month .

My second time here and it was fantastic both times. Great flavour, great menu and great atmosphere. Do yourself a favor and eat here instead of getting sucked into olive garden or the other chains by the mall. We were with our toddler this time and they were very accommodating to us.

My go to is the Poutine w/ chicken n chipotle bbq sauce. Prices are reasonable and my food is usually done in less than 10 min.

The atmosphere was very comfortable and clean, the décor perfect. The customer service was excellent. I ordered the Charleston and it was very good. I ordered a kids meal bbq chicken slider platter for my two young kids to share and they were so thoughtful as to make 2 plates and split the sliders and macaroni and cheese so I didn’t have to. Most places just hand me an extra plate and I have to split everything. My husband ordered the no bun three meat platter with jerk sauce with fries and macaroni and cheese. My husband wasn’t a huge fan of the brisket, but said there’s different ways to cook it and he preferred a different way. Would recommend this restaurant.

My daughter and I ate here tonight (08/24/21) for the first time.. it will not be our last!! The ribs were awesome, the pulled chicken sandwich my daughter got was awesome... And neither one of us are real big bread eaters, let alone corn bread.... But It was amazing!!! I would order that on purpose next time..I just had a taste of hers and I wanted more!! Definitely a place to check out.. Added bonus, get to eat outside right on Public Square!!🥰🥰🥰

The atmosphere was like an old-time theam. When you walk in, you get hit with the aroma of the BBQ. The food came out hot and fresh. And plenty. The staff was very understanding.

Found this little spot while visiting my mom in waterwown and we'll 100% be coming back! The woman at the register who I think might have been the owner, was absolutely lovely! I have a pineapple allergy and she was quick to catch that the sauce for something I ordered had pineapple in it. She was kind enough to sub it out for double pork instead. Great food and huge portions we left full and happy

I ordered the pulled pork Cubano, and it was an absolute delight. My husband got the brisket philly cheese and also loved it. We also got the poutine, but without the meat (I'm Canadian and really wanted it classic). They didn't alter the price of the poutine for not having meat, and also wouldn't put it on the side for is which was dissapointing. They also don't have changing tables in the bathroom which was inconvenient. We and the only other family when we ordered had newborns, so hopefully they get one soon. The meal came to about $50 total.

Finally a place for BBQ in Watertown. It’s not southern, but it’s VERY tasty. I had an excellent meal in a clean restaurant. Portions are HUGE. The sandwich is the star. A real monster with balanced flavors and ample meat. This big sammich must weigh 2 lbs. The sides were not necessary. Next time I’ll just get the sandwich. The mac was northern ny style: extremely soft, no pepper, no crisp baked top/edge. The beans Id swear were canned but have no way to confirm this hunch. I highly recommend the sandwich. It’s an outstandingly well made cousin to authentic southern Q. I will definitely eat here again.

A unique corner restaurant with a lil feel of the Big Apple(screen on top of the main entrance) food is great. Loved the food. Awesome hostesses. Whom ever the pit master is, my hats off to you... the meat came off the bone!!!!!

I called for a pick up order for their brisket with smoked Mac and cheese, fries, and corn bread with a drink. The brisket was fantastic, and the Mac and cheese surprised me with how good they were. My order was packed neatly into a bag, with silverware, and my drink, making it easy for me to eat and get back to work. I strongly recommend trying them if you haven’t yet. The resteraunt looks really nice.

I'm from Texas and we know BBQ! I was very pleasantly surprised about how delicious the food was. One of my favorites is the 3 meat platter! It comes with a slice of cornbread. And just the cornbread would have me coming back! Would definitely recommend 👌🏻

I had the 1/4 ribs with Mac salad, coleslaw, and some cornbread, the ribs were fall off the bone and the flavor of the sauce is on point. Mac salad was ok just a bit bland for my liking. Atmosphere is really nice and staff was very friendly. Defiantly want to go back

Loved it! Everything my fiancé and I ordered was delicious. The pulled pork. BBQ sauce. Broccoli salad. Even the corn bread was good. I will say I didn't care too much for the Mac and cheese but it wasn't bad. Definitely going there again soon

Meat was good had sample of three a little dry on the brisket, chicken was great, and the pulled pork good. Sauces were good and people knowledgable of their heat level for you. It is served on a plater and you seat yourself, relaxing atmosphere. Sides were very good as well. Only down fall is the parking being on the square and all, some days would be harder than others. We were there late afternoon and had no trouble then.

Great BBQ, cornbread, and broccoli salad! The only complaint we have is that it was very cold inside the restaurant.

The brisket was good but it wasn't great, and for the money I had really hoped it would be great. The slaw was pretty good, but the mac n cheese was not impressive, it just tasted store bought. However, the place is really clean and I got my order very quickly, and the staff is welcoming. I'd be willing to go to lunch here with a friend for the atmosphere. Look, if you've ever got barbecue south of Ohio, you'll know what I'm talking about and unfortunately this place doesn't have it. But if you're unfamiliar with southern cooking this place will be a homerun for you.

I tried several times to eat at Holy Smokes but they were closed because they ran out of meats....Which is a GREAT thing in my eyes. I finally was able to order and tried several things from the menu- pulled pork, chicken, brisket, mac and cheese, ribs, and burger. The portions are great for the price! The pull pork was the best of all the meats. Tender and tasty! The chicken was dry and had no flavor. The brisket was over cooked to me crumbly and dry. The ribs were good but the smoke flavored was overpowering. Mac and cheese didn't have flavor and were mushy. The burger was good and tender. Overall, I gave it 3 stars because of the serving sizes, pull pork, and the burger.

Been there twice. I absolutely love the sticky cheese quesadillas and could eat those daily but the sides lack so much. I’ve tried the fries, not a fan - the smoked Mac and cheese is the most tasteless I have ever tried - the potatoes were ok except some were rotten tasting - the coleslaw is hit or miss. . One time it was just bland and watery and the next it tasted like store bought but yummy. I just don’t know. The cost of the quesadillas is too much for me since the sides are nothing I plan to eat.

Pulled pork- 4 Pulled chicken- 2 Brisket- 1 Salted potatos- 6 Mac and cheese- 0.5 Bourbon sauce- 5.7 Mild sauce- 4 I dont think they know how to BBQ. Everything was dry with no seasoning.

The best thing I had was baked beans. Brisket, ribs, pulled pork, pulled chicken, and corn was on my plate with the beans. None of the meats had any flavor. The sauce did help the ribs out. To me, none of the meats smelled like wood, had any wood flavor, or seasoning. The decor was pretty good.

The customer service here is terrible. We wanted the Homewrecker meal $50+ meal. She said they were out of ribs and would not substitute anything else and then turned around and walked away. We will make it point not to eat here again.
