Mai Phat Noodle House in Westminster is a must-visit for authentic Vietnamese comfort food! The oxtail noodle soup was rich and flavorful, perfect for chilly weather, and the dumplings with dry noodles were just as amazing. I also tried the duck noodle soup, and the duck was fall-off-the-bone tender — so flavorful and satisfying. Everything tasted fresh and carefully prepared. The interior is casual and welcoming, making it a great spot to warm up and enjoy a hearty meal.
We got there at 9:30am, the restaurant was about 60% capacity and we got seated right away. Staff was very friendly, we were greeted by several members. We ordered the brisket/oxtail noodles and the pork noodles. The food came out fast and was excellent in flavor and perfect temperature. We were surprise itt came with two very large pieces of oxtail and they charge only $17. The pork noodles is much lighter but delicious nonetheless. The noodles has the perfect consistency. Would highly recommend anyone try this place. They are closed on Wednesdays.
This restaurant checked off all the boxes for me. I was hungry, cold and wanting something comforting. I always crave and love Cantonese Wonton noodle soup. This place does not serve it. It does smack in a different but similar way. For me it's always about the broth. The broth here is clean and very savory. No hint of salted fish or shrimp but tasty. I'm guessing pork based. The dry noodles were bouncy and chewy. Just how I like them. They were dressed well in a sweet and savory soy based sauce. There are even little shrimp cracklings/chicharron that are umami bombs. I could eat those by itself! The wontons. Although a little bit under seasoned. They made up in size and amount. The sauce they are dressed in is on the sweeter side. The red wine vinegar and chili oil helped balance it out.
The line here has been long no matter what time I go. 1hr long on a Tuesday night before Christmas and 1.5hr on a Saturday at 1pm. Got sat down on a Tuesday night at 8pm and they ran out of oxtail but they graciously allowed me to get another dish but the oxtail broth The food was good and broth was flavorful. Would recommend
Atmosphere is as warm as the food. Service is great and very easy. The food is piping hot and is very well seasoned. Highly recommend.
this is a long overdue review as i have been eating here for months with my family. this is absolutely one of my most favorite vietnamese restaurants in all of orange county, despite how relatively new it is! ive tried most of their menu, but they recently added more items for variety. i love the crunchy circular topping with 1 shrimp on it that the OG viet restaurants used to have. maybe its nostalgia, but its a perfect noodle topper imo. i personally love their mi ga quay (roasted chicken with dry noodle) and eat it biweekly on top of the delicious food, the location is in the heart of bolsa, right next to asian garden mall (vibes, yk?) the staff is also such a blessing, theyre all so incredibly kind and attentive and their familiar faces make me happy since theyre the ones providing such delicious food LOL ive eaten here over 20 times and today was the first time ive watched them deal with a difficult customer, which they handled with absolute grace. my reviews arent normally this long, but i truly recommend to those who are either just visiting little saigon or just passing through to try their food!
Food is good . Services are excellent and friendly. Restaurant is clean . Price reasonable. Hot tea is free while many Vietnamese restaurants charge 1- 1.50 . Highly recommended .
THE FOOD IS AMAZING! I had the fried chicken with dry noodles. The sauce that comes with it is so good. It also comes with an incredible clear soup broth. The chefs here know what they are doing. It all comes at a reasonable price. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
The food here is delicious, it was brought out carefully with consideration of the hot food for us customers. The food was fresh and well prepared. The service here was lovely. The servers were very polite and attentive to us. They were well presented with nice clean black clothing and a smile on their face. The Atomosphere here was happy and friendly. Chat was light and everyone was smiling and having a great time. I can’t believe this place only has 4.5 stars! Thìs place is great and deserve 5 stars!! The food, the service, and the atomosphere. The restaurant itself is very clean and well kept. Decorations were very aesthetic and inviting. I love this place 5 stars!!! 🤩
I came with the wife to try this place for the first time. I LOVE OX TAIL so I had to try their ox tail soup noodle. I got it medium spicy and it came out perfect amount of spice. Headup, spice is taste of the numbing spice. Personally I am a fan of it so no biggie, they make it very subtle. My wife tried the dumpling dry noodle and that was also very tasty. I recommend getting their soda drinks, both delicious as well.
Holy moly this place blew our expectations out of the water! We are fairly familiar with Vietnamese cuisine, but we tried a bunch of different foods here and not a single thing disappointed. We HIGHLY recommend the Dumplings with Dry Noodle, and Beef Stew with Noodle Soup. Definitely going to be our restaurant rotation
This place was so delicious! I had the duck noodles and loved them, and my family got the wonton noodles, which were equally fantastic. The service was prompt and great as well. Love how this place opens late (10PM) on the weekday as well.
Tried this place out for the first time this past weekend and it was amazing! I normally always have Pho or Bahn Mi whenever I am in Westminster or craving Vietnamese food, but this was a pleasant surprise. The prices were reasonable, and the staff was lovely. My top recommendations would be: 1. Beef Stew (Mi Bo Kho) - sooo rich and comforting, the perfect meal for a cold/rainy day. It was soo aromatic and the beef was so tender and juicy. 2. Dumplings w/Noodle Soup (Mi Sui Cao Kho) - a very unique dish that was recommended by the staff. The egg noodles where bouncy and chewy and the dumplings were INSANE. The sauce was reminiscent of a Vietnamese Chili Oil and the dumplings were stuffed with filling. 3. Vietnamese Iced Coffee (Ca Phe) - Normally, Vietnamese iced coffee is way too strong for me. However, this one was perfectly sweetened and had the right amount of strength. I will definitely be coming back!
Mai Phat Mi Gia is an absolute must-visit if you’re looking for authentic, flavorful Vietnamese food. From the first bite, you can tell everything is made with care, quality ingredients, and traditional flavors. We started with the dumplings so juicy and full of flavor, easily a must-order. The Mi Bo Kho was rich, comforting, and packed with deep, slow-cooked flavors. We also tried the BBQ pork fried rice, which was perfectly seasoned and incredibly satisfying, and the Com Ga Xoi Mo, crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and full of flavor. Every dish felt homemade, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared. The portions are generous, the flavors are bold without being overwhelming, and everything tastes authentic. The service is friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. If you’re searching for one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in the area, Mai Phat Mi Gia deserves to be at the top of your list. Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back.
One of the best noodle place ia here. Its most time need you to queue but its worth it to wait, because the noodles all delicious. Try this : dumpling noodle dry with sauce, Duck noodle with herbal soup and ox tail with noodle soup. All this 3 are the recommended food, and i also saw many people mostly order this 3. Next year the owner plan to open new restaurant near the area with new concept and new menu, cant wait for it!!
It's a super flavorful Viet spot that hits the spot whether you're tryna get a noodle soup or a dry bowl. No frills inside but food is worth it mi bo kho: Get it's a super rich and savory dish. the beef is really tender and combined with the noodles and broth, it's just so comforting and satisfying. mi sui cao kho: get packed with so much flavor.. the dry style makes everything taste even more concentrated. If you like wontons and noodles, this one is definitely a must get honestly feels like you can't mess up here. Probably can't go wrong with anything on the menu. It just depends whether you're into something more brothy or dry. Beef or seafood. Noodly or not haha. just ask for what their best sellers are and they gotchu. Food: 9/10 Service: 5/10 Atmosphere: 5/10 Value: 8/10
Taste :5/5 Environment: 4.2/5 Service:4.2/5 I wish I had discovered Mai Phat Mi Gia earlier — this place proves there’s so much more to Vietnamese food in KA/OC than just pho. The dishes here honestly blew my mind (and my stomach). Must-try dishes: 🦆 Deep Fried Duck Noodle Soup – A standout! The duck is huge, the broth is rich without being overloaded with MSG, and the Cantonese-style flavor is spot on. I loved it so much I ordered another one to go. 🐂 Oxtail Noodle Soup – Hands down the best oxtail I’ve had in LA. The oxtail pieces are generous, meaty, and the broth has a little spicy kick that makes it addictive. 🥟 Deep Fried Dumplings – Crispy outside with real shrimp inside. Simple but delicious. 🍚 Seafood Fried Rice – Fragrant with wok hei, each grain of rice is separate and flavorful. Hard to stop eating. 🍜 Mi Sui Cao Kho – A great value! Comes with crispy noodles, shrimp wontons, and soup on the side. You can mix the soup into the noodles for an extra level of flavor. This is also one of their most popular dishes, and I can see why. Generous portions, authentic flavors, and dishes you won’t find at just any noodle shop — this spot is a hidden gem in LA. Highly recommend if you’re looking to level up your noodle game beyond pho.
Foods excellent, good price, alots of variety foods to choose from. Services a little off. My wife asked for more water but they forgot,
Pleasantly surprised! 🍜🦐 We decided to take our parents here because we've been seeing it all over social media and were glad we did. The menu has a decent range of noodle options and everything looked delicious. Although it's not listed on the menu, they also offer staple drink options like water and green tea free of charge. * Mì Vịt Tiềm: 9/10 - tasted authentic and served in a clay pot * Mì Thập Cẩm: 8/10 - good but the portion seemed small * Mì Hải Sản: 9/10 - decent amount of seafood and broth was tasty * Mì Xào Giòn: 10/10 - noodles were served separately which kept them crunchy for longer * Iced Tea: 9/10 - refreshing There was a 30-minute wait when we came, but they have chairs and benches for you to sit on. When they're backed up, they'll take your order while you're outside if your table is almost ready so that you won't wait too long for the food when you finally get to your table. The workers were nice and friendly and it took about 10 minutes for the food to come when you're finally seated at a table. They're able to fit a good amount of tables inside which is weird considering how small the restaurant is. It's located in the popular Asian Village across from Asian Garden Mall so parking will get difficult during peak times. My mom is an extremely picky eater yet she really enjoyed the food so we'll definitely be back! One of our new favorite restaurants in the area!
So many yummy options! It was super packed with local, so I knew it’d be a great meal. The drinks are delicious, and the noodle options provide so much variety!
Today for lunch, I was craving Chinese food so I went on yelp and found this place. Wow on the weekends you must get here early. It was packed. I ordered a few of their most popular items and they were all delicious. The dry noodles were amazing and tasted so fresh. I also got the fried dumplings and the wontons were delicious. The sauce was so good. The customer service here was the best and the ambience was very cool.. I definitely need to come back and take my family and friends here.
The kidney noodle soup is delicious! Not funky at all. However we same in for the herbal duck noodle soup and was told that they usually run out of it by noon on a busy day. Will return for the herbal noodle soup earlier on another day.
It's one of the staple restaurants in Little Saigon! I enjoy taking my family here when we visit from the Riverside area. I really enjoy their Ox Tail noodle soup. My wife loved their Dried Noodle dishes. Service was really good, they really cater to the customer and there needs immediately. Not that many appetizers too choose from though. Our wait was 1 hour when we visit on Saturdays.
I stopped by for dinner on Friday night around 9pm. It wasn’t too busy, so I was seated right away. I ordered the Mì Gà Quay (dry noodles), and I really enjoyed it. The dish came with a bowl of noodles, a side of chicken, and a soup. The noodles were delicious—satisfying chew, al dente, flavorful, and not too oily. The soup was fresh and provided a nice balance to the rich taste of the noodles. The chicken was tender and juicy, making for a perfect combination. However, the little piece of shrimp wasn't too good. It was a bit softened, so it wasn't too crispy. The restaurant itself was clean with plenty of seating. Parking was easy when I arrived, though it might be a bit more challenging during peak hours.

Legit food, plus the side dishes are a plus. Friendly and fast service. Reminds us of District 5 Chinatown in VN. Glad we found this spot. We'll be back!

Came here for breakfast on a Friday morning and was pleasantly surprised! The noodle broth was rich and flavorful, and had perfect texture. Portions were generous and everything came out hot and fresh. Service was quick and friendly. Great casual spot and I would come back again!

A real competitor among those endless Noodles houses in Wesminster. This restaurant definitely means serious business in here. Noodles is really delicious; with a soft mixing with fried pork fat that elevates the flavor. Oxtail soup also have a traditional Chinese tasting. The only let down for me was the Wonton, they made it in flat shape which differ from the original and the flavor was also not really well seasoned. Hope they can fix this in the future. Beside that, their dry Sui Cao with the dipping sauce was tasty. Definitely coming back regularly to check other dishes as they are looking promising.
I grew up eating egg noodles so I was excited to come here. OC is full of pho restaurants but not really big on egg noodles. We ordered: -Egg noodle wonton soup ($13.99) -Egg noodle dry, noodle soup on the side w wonton in sauce ($15.99) -Egg noodle dry, bbq pork soup ($13.99) -house special egg noodle ($14.99) I love that the prices are kept pretty low and affordable. The broth was very flavorful. I didn’t taste any msg but I tasted a lot of fish sauce which is where the flavor comes from along with the bone broth. The egg noodles were fantastic. Had the right texture and bounce, it wasn’t over cooked and it wasn’t bland. Together with the broth, reminded me of my childhood. My meal was complete. My wet dish had the same 6 pieces of wonton as the dry dish. The egg noodles in the dry version had a sweet soy sauce flavor which gives off that dark color. Aside from wontons, it came with a few slices of bbq pork. The House special came with an assortment of meat, one of it being kidney which is not everyone’s favorite. Eliminated one star for cleanliness because the table and floors were sticky. Especially the restroom floor.
A [would come again / 還會再來] · its a delicious vietnamese dry noodle restaurant with a unique shrimp chip topping · the dry noodles were flavorful + chewy (highly recommend their crab wontons) · chicken leg was slightly overcooked + lacked juicy meat · fried tempura tasted average + lacked any flavor (dont recommend) · good music + attenative servers who made sure to fill our waters tldr: highly recommend their dry noodles
This restaurant is Chinese Vietnamese styled noodles. The food was fine. I tried the oxtail soup with wonton that cost me $28 in total. Honestly, the soup was fine but not really special. I preferred the wontons. I don’t think I would travel all the way from LA to Westminster for this soup next time. Anw it’s not disappointing tho.
Food: egg noodles had a nice chewy texture, but the sauce that came with it was a bit sweet and oily. They are skimpy on the char siu meat and dried shrimps. Wontons were decent but there was a lot of ground peppers in the sauce. I thought their lychee and mango drinks were so-so. Service: great and attentive service! Atmosphere: nice interior decoration with ambient lighting.
personal opinion: the taste is a bit salty, but it depends on the dish. The oxtail noodle dish is just right, while the seafood noodle and dry noodle dishes are a bit salty. Maybe it's because it's late in the day (I went to eat at 6-7pm). The portion is a bit smaller than some other restaurants, but still filling. The price is suitable for the quality. I suggest the restaurant reduce the saltiness. Otherwise, there's nothing to complain about. It's worth trying and coming back to support.
Pretty crowded on a Saturday afternoon. About a 20 minute wait for party of 3. Some tables were close together so the seating felt cramped when other guests walked by. Service was slow but they were attentive when available. It was very busy so I understand. Ordered Mi Vit Quay. The duck was cooked very well and tasty. I wanted more. The noodles were not too bad. Broth was flavored well. The portion is a little small for me so I ordered extra noodles. The fried calamari had too much breading and had too much of an oil taste. I'd come back to try another noodle dish.
Wow, where has this place been all my life. So good. Recommended by a buddy who is Vietnamese and whose wife is also from the area of Vietnam. I ordered the dry egg noodles with chicken and the chicken was cooked to perfection. It was so tender and pull apart. The noodles that it came with was an egg noodle cooked to the right way. I wished that the order of noodles was more. Maybe I could have asked for more noodles. The brother was clean and clear and full of flavor. My buddy ordered the herbal brother with noodles and duck. I’m not a fan of the herbal taste but the duck was so tender. Probably the most tender duck I’ve ever had. If I am ever in the area, this is the place to go.
The ox tail soup was so good! The broth and the meat were excellent. The bbq fried rice was another favorite. Would come back
Great food 🥘 had a lot of options and had a very quick turn around for getting our food. It was really filling and decently priced
Stopped here for a Sunday lunch and it was busy but we got in without waiting. There were a lot of servers so the service was fast and helpful. We had a stewed duck noodle soup which was good and homey tasting. It had a medicinal Chinese soup vibe which if you know Chinese food is a good thing. Wings were fresh and tasty. It's in little Saigon so parking is difficult and competitive.

Probably the tastiest noodle shop in OC. All kinds of mi noodles Chinese Vietnamese ways, very tasty, reasonable prices. Newly open but already very popular. I was in on Tuesday at 11 AM but the place was packed with half dozen people waiting outside. I ordered a kidney noodle soup, dry with a separate bowl of soup, $14. It had 4 large halves of pork kidney plus char siu and all kinds of fresh onion and chives per Vietnamese taste. The soup was delish and just right, not too sweet with too much sugar, MSG or salt. Quality and quantity wise it was a very good deal. They put in a lot of fried pork rinds. If you want to avoid animal fat, tell them up front to skip it. Their House Special Noodle is 75% pork offal, smells and tastes gamy, should be avoided. Waiters were all young guys, polite and patient. I could not find similarly delish noodle soups even in Saigon's Chinatown. California's food quality is far superior to even the best in Vietnam.
We were very disappointed with our bowls of noodle soup. The dish didn't match the picture on the menu, as it was missing the shrimp chip Instead, it came with flat fried wontons. The dry noodle topping, labeled as "Síu kao," tasted similar to wonton with a small shrimp. Additionally, the noodles were overloaded with fried pork fat and noodle were soft not al dente 🥴. seafood noodle soup: frozen seafoods no flavor, broth taste like made of chicken bouillon wasn't what we were expecting. Low quality foods!
A friend had recommended that I try this restaurant knowing how much I love wonton noodle soup or sui cao noodle soup. It's been very difficult for me to find a good bowl here in Northern California and apparently down in Southern California as well. (Years ago, Sam Woo in Monterey Park was delicious or way up in Vancouver BC). I drove my family to Mai Phat Mi Gia in Westminster on August 10, 2025 for lunch. The location of the business is in the heart of Little Saigon i.e. parking is a pain. You will need to exercise patience which is difficult when you're hungry and excited to try out a new restaurant. The ambiance was nice, seemed clean and new. My folks told me the restaurant had recently focused on a different Vietnamese dish and thus they were not aware of this business. No matter, I was up for good wonton/sui cao noodle soup. As you can see from my receipt, my father and brother decided to have the beef stew, my mother ordered the wonton noodle soup and I focused in on the crab dumpling noodle soup- sui cao cua with soup inside. My review here is strictly based on my dish. I can honestly say I was underwhelmed or unimpressed. The sui cao itself didn't have much flavor and the noodles were a bit overcooked making them too soggy or soft in my opinion. These two elements just didn't make the dish a winner in my eyes. My family didn't think the price justified the dishes, but in my opinion, I don't mind the price as long as the food was tasty. I will continue my search for good wonton noodle soup restaurants; if you know of one either in Northern California or Southern California, please let me know.
TikTok hype.. we went there once. The noodles taste just like those cup of ramen package soaked in salted and greasy sauces. It was unimpressive and way too much MSG added. We literally had the MSG headache for the rest of the day after the meal and we dont have any plan to come back any time soon.
“Trời ơi, ai ăn ai nhịn?” (Oh my god, who gets to eat and who has to starve?) That was the first thing that came to mind when my duck noodle dish arrived. I ordered the dry noodles, and when the plate hit the table, I was in complete shock!! My jaw dropped. The portion looked like it belonged to a kids’ menu. For $18, I wasn’t expecting to be nibbling on a handful of noodles. I don’t understand why this restaurant is so stingy with portions. It’s ridiculous. To give them credit, the broth itself was excellent: flavorful, comforting, and truly delicious. If they actually gave a proper portion of noodles, I’d have been satisfied. Unfortunately, the duck was a huge letdown. It was extremely fatty, not crispy, and honestly hard to enjoy. The dry noodles themselves were bland and flavorless, and I instantly regretted not ordering the soup version instead. What made this worse is that I came here for lunch, and I left still feeling hungry…actually starving. I literally had to stop by another restaurant nearby afterward just to get a snack and feel full. That’s unacceptable when you’re paying nearly twenty bucks for a single dish. That said, I might come back, but not for the duck. I’d try the wonton noodles or plain egg noodles with broth, because the soup is clearly the star here.
The duck was quite tough, and the rice was dry, which made the meal difficult to enjoy. Overall, the experience did not meet expectations. I hope the quality can be improved in the future.
