Our party of 4 went for lunch last Sunday. After entering our name on the Yelp Waitlist tablet @12:10, we probably waited ~35 min before being seated. But they were nice to offer us water while waiting. For starters, we ordered the Fried Pork Belly & Lemongrass Chicken Wings. The wings were super hot so be careful not to burn your tongue. We also got the Rice Noodle Salad (Tum Khao Bun), Crispy Rice Salad (Nam Khao) & BBQ Mix Combo (Pork Sausage, Wagyu Beef Skewer & Chicken Thigh Skewer). And of course we had to get it Sticky Rice! The rice noodle salad has a good spicy kick along with that distinct fermented flavor. Of the 2 sauces that come with the bbq platter, I enjoyed the spicy house sauce more. For dessert, we shared an order of sweet mango slices with pandan flavored sticky rice.
Come with me to this amazing Laos restaurant. Their food is exceptional with beautiful presentation. Very quick service with casual setting. Love!! Highlights of the menu: 1. Tum mak huong - papaya salad 2. BBQ mix combo - pork sausage, wagyu skewer, and a chicken thigh skewer. Also has a side of sticky rice and the spicy house sauce + sweet and sour sauce 3. Mee ka tee - curry noodle soup (chicken & shrimp). Pho rice noodles in broth with coconut cream and red curry paste 4. Khao niao mak muong - pandan mango sticky rice 5. Freshly sliced mango on top of steaming glutinous sweet rice, drenched in pandan leaf infused coconut milk 6. Thai tea
We went to Nok's Kitchen for lunch on a Saturday. You have to add yourself to the waitlist outside the door but the wait was only about 5 min. The inside of the restaurant was small but cozy. We ordered the BBQ mix combo, larb salmon, larb rib eye, mango sticky rice with coconut ice cream, and a passionfruit lemonade. Everything was so delicious. We loved the mango sticky rice and the coconut ice cream. It had such a soft texture and pleasant flavor, like eating cold creamy coconut water. The server was thoughtful and kind. He guided us through the menu options and mentioned some of the popular dishes. We are definitely going back to try more of their food!
Love this place! The atmosphere is so zen and peaceful when you walk in. The atmosphere goes so well with the amazing recipes of their food. The soup and bbq are absolutely delicious and they have a la cart items you can buy along with their sauces. The appetizers (fried pork belly with house sauce) is so good along with the soup and bbq. For sure going back 😋
I’m always in search for Lao restaurants! Noks did not disappoint! The essence of that Lao funkiness wasn’t there, which I Iove, but they captured the flavor that translates that essence and open it to outsiders to enjoy as well. Sausage was good. Chicken soup had a sweet coconut broth, added fresh chili and lime it was perfect. Crispy pork belly, I didn’t like that it took away the pork belly flavor, it’s more popcorn pork belly.
Finally, I got to try Laotian food that isn’t mixed with Thai and/or Cambodian influences. We ordered Combo 4: BBQ Mix & Sticky Rice and Nam Khao. Presentation: 5/5 I love how both dishes were laid out together—it gave the meal a more coherent and thoughtful theme. Food: 5/5 Nam Khao (crispy rice salad) was excellent, with the perfect balance of tanginess, crispiness, and a hint of spice. The salad also came with lettuce, though I do wish they had provided more, so we could enjoy the crispy rice wrapped in lettuce for an added texture and experience. The portion size was generous! Combo 4: BBQ Mix & Sticky Rice: 4/5 Honestly, nothing really stood out. Was it good? Yes. Was it special? Not particularly. We’ll definitely be coming back to try more dishes.
I have been coming since they were at there smaller location off Westminster. I am so happy to see they have grown but I am not surprised. Every single dish is full of flavor and served to perfection! They have expanded their menu and I can't wait to keep coming back to try them all.
If you are looking for a delicious and authentic Laos food experience, look no further than Nok's Kitchen. This place is a hidden gem in the neighborhood, run by a lovely couple who make you feel like family. The food is amazing, fresh and flavorful, with generous portions and reasonable prices. The service is friendly and attentive, and the ambience is cozy and inviting. All the food items are good. Just order the combos and you can't go wrong. The owner, Nok, is very kind and always greets me with a smile. She knows how to make every dish to perfection and can adjust the spiciness level to your preference. Nok's Kitchen is my go-to place for Laos food in the area and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves Asian cuisine or wants to try something new. It is like a mom and pop shop that makes you feel at home. You won't regret it!
《Highly Re-commanded》 The staff is very friendly, creating a warm, home-like dining experience. Every dish is deliciously seasoned. The sausage is so addictive you can't stop at one, and the fried chicken is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside—perfect for taking home to enjoy while watching a game or a movie! The beef in the rib-eye salad is cooked to the perfect tenderness.
Tasty. Crispy pork was perfectly fried and came with a banging sauce. Could leave the crab dumplings. Fried well but basically wontons. Ribeye larb was good. Taro pudding was a surprise hit. Nice coconutty vibe to it. Lucious. Good sized deserts.
The Lao sausage are the best I’ve ever had. The flavor is so delicious and very aromatic. Every time I come here I have to buy a pack of sausages Togo to keep in my freezer then the cravings hit. Definitely try the mild if you can’t handle the spice. The staff is amazing and service is great but be prepared to wait. 9/8 there were no medium spicy sausage so I got some jeo bong to spice it up. You order the sausage at the counter!
Another Take out Edition, and noks Delivered a delicious of Laotian home cooked goodness. Great portion and flavor is on point. Chicken moist and tender, the steak skewers were good, papaya salad refreshing and not to tangy/sour, curry chicken broth was light yet rich, but the star of everything we ordered would be the in-house sausage. If it wasn’t for my heart condition i would eat them everyday…and it so happen to be that my wife will be buying the frozen ones to take home when we leave Cali. Notable mention would be their pandan desert (green worm looking thing) man that coconut cream sauce is to die for and the pandan strips are so soft and fresh tasting…better than any where I’ve tried in my Vietnamese community/places that makes this Che.
I love to share my delicious lunch experience. We ordered Fried pork belly, Combo set with mixed meat (sticky rice, Ribeye, chicken satay, pork sausage), Papaya salad and Tom soup. The fried pork belly is really tasty beacuse of its crispiness together with garlic and ginger smell. The welk-marinated ribeye and chicken satay taste really yummy. Papaya salad and Tom soup are not that special but they do taste good too. I like their serving style of sticky rice and combo orders with Woven Bamboo Tray and basket.
I just love the food and the atmosphere here. The spicy pork rinds are so special, a must-try. They also have great grill sausage and sticky rice with ox tail soup. Papaya salad is very fresh and not overwhelming at all. The wait is pretty long since the space is small and they have great food options but overall this place is greattt!!
This restaurant was on my list for a minute. Finally I got to try. My family and I got there on a Saturday round 11:40am. The restaurant was almost full. We ordered lemongrass chicken which was perfectly fried. Bbq mix combo ( the sausage was delicious and homemade which I heard from other customers). Ka Tee Gai which is chicken curry noodle soup ( I think added the lime juice can balance the flavors of the dish) it was not spicy and more on the sweet side. We also ordered a Lard Ribye which was also good. The service was great, the atmosphere was nice. Oh! The presentation of the dishes were amazing too. We will come back next time.
The restaurant is in a very nondescript plaza across from Bolsa Grande high school. There are a few tables inside and outside the restaurant. The food and service are wonderful. Love the food presentation and the flavors are authentic Thai/Laotian. Get the real heat here if you enjoy spicy, flavorful dishes!
All the items we ordered were delicious, average size portions( not large portions for sure) and the prices are on the higher side! For 3 people we spent $140! The place is a newly owned restaurants because it used to be a different restaurant, so it looks new and nice! We thoroughly enjoy all the food!
Wow, literally what an incredible place! I had my first taste of Lao cuisine here- I got the King Mok with salmon. Seriously so, so good! The salmon is so flavorful and melts in your mouth. Our server was the best and his recommendations were super helpful! Don't skip the mango sticky rice, it has pandan and tastes incredible! If I could rate 6 stars, I would!
Super delicious food with friendly staff. The atmosphere is very welcoming. Love how they serve the food in wooden trays and plates. The Lou coffee is one of the best Vietnamese coffees have had here in the US. The dessert was delicious. Try Mango and coconut ice cream Highly recommend
Crispy perfection! The fried pork is wonderfully crunchy on the outside yet tender inside, paired perfectly with fragrant jasmine rice, fresh greens, and flavorful dipping sauces. The extra cracklings pork skin adds a nice touch of variety. Sticky rice & mango dessert: Beautifully presented and absolutely delicious—sweet, juicy mango paired perfectly with the fragrant green sticky rice for a refreshing, tropical treat! Every bite is packed with bold, savory flavors—comfort food done right and beautifully presented!
Loved everything about this restaurant. Taste so good and also service was wonderful as well. So friendly. It’s my new favorite restaurant!
Love the sausage dish with sticky rice. the sauce is amazing! very good Thai tea. Awesome service! Can get crowded during weekend.
Tasty place, hidden gem. We were traveling and were recommended to check this place out. It was our son's birthday and they went out of their way to make everything smooth and delicious! If we had any concern, it was simply the noise level. It was a little loud because there were so many people. Maybe try putting in some booths or sound dampening panels to reduce the ambient noise, but other than that, this place was awesome! They received a fat tip from me which says a lot about their excellent food and service. Will try to stop by again the next time we're in the area.😁
This place is amazing!! All the food is really authentic, delicious, and flavorful! I tried their - Bbq mix combo which basically has all bbq in it. Chicken, sausage, and wagyu. Serve with two kind of sauces and sticky rice. The green sauce is my favorite. It spicy and has shrimp flavor to it. The pork sausage is simply the best. - the basik. It’s rice with deep fried pork belly with boiled egg and steamed veggies. This dish is a must. Outside it’s so crispy and flavorful, inside is the juicy meat. - Rotty Curry. The roti is so flaky and crispy combine with creamy and sweet curry. Love it!! - Pho Lao chicken. Chicken soup good for kids. The soup is clear and the meat is tender. - Kua Mee Sen Yai basically it’s a pad see ew in Thai cuisine. It’s really good. We can pick the meat that we want. - Pandan Mango Sticky Rice. The mango is sweet and the sticky rice cooked perfectly with coconut milk sweet sauce. Perfect for dessert. For the drink, the coffee is so strong and the Thai tea is sweet and refreshing! The service is quick and the all the server very helpful and friendly. They are very attentive. The restaurant is clean and I love how they serve the food in the bamboo basket and wood plates. Feels like you are in Asia. Really recommend this place and will come back to try more!!
Food is great but all the dishes were with spicy ingredients. Not kids friendly.
l've had this restaurant bookmarked for a while, and I finally got the chance to check it out tonight and it did not disappoint! Having spent years enjoying home-cooked Laotian food while living in San Diego, where there's a thriving Laotian community, l've developed a deep appreciation for traditional Laotian flavors. I was fortunate to have friends who loved cooking authentic dishes, so my expectations were high. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed. We were seated immediately, and I couldn't help but notice how clean and well-maintained the space was--a detail that set a great first impression. Here's what we ordered: * Veggie Eggroll: These were absolutely delicious--light, crispy, and perfectly paired with the flavorful peanut sauce. A fantastic appetizer to start the meal. * Salmon Larb Salad: Wow, wow, wow! This dish was a symphony of flavors that hit every note. I fell in love with it instantly, and I already know it's going to be my go-to dish. Highly recommend! * BBQ Mix Combo with Sticky Rice: My boyfriend ordered this one, and I made sure he tried the Laotian sausage--a must-try specialty. While I couldn't taste it myself (pescatarian here!), he raved about how juicy and flavorful it was. * Stir-Fried Broccoli: Simple but perfect-cooked just right, with a satisfying crunch. This place is a winner all around! To top it off, our server, Kee, made the experience even more memorable. His warm, bubbly, and friendly demeanor added an extra layer of joy to our visit. Needless to say, we'll definitely be back to explore more dishes. One tip: come hungry! You’re going to want to try EVERYTHING!
We arrived a few minutes before closing and the staff was so kind to allow us in even though he initially said they were no longer seating anyone. Thank you for graciously making an exception so that we could have one of our most memorable dinners this year. Everything was well made and beautifully presented. The mixed grilled BBQ plate offered us a nice sampling. We loved the spicy dipping sauce. The papaya salad was refreshing and bright. The sour soup with shrimp was rich in flavor and, yes, sour. Don't forget to leave room for the pandan mango sticky rice for dessert with slightly tart pieces of mango.
Our group of 14 people had reservations for my wife’s birthday. Table was ready as we arrive no waiting. Food was excellent and service were great. Waiter and waitress were happy.
Our friends took us to Nok's Kitchen while in Irvine, CA. I love Lao food, and this place delivered authentic tasting Lao food. We had chicken wings, shrimp salad, steak salad, Kap piak sen chicken soup, and grilled meat combo. We also ordered the Lao coffee, Thai tea, and coconut juice. Overall, food was very tasty, and the service was great. Would recommend this place and will visit again when we're in the area.
Didn’t know that I was a huge fan of Laos’ food till this place. Just go and try. So good. The papaya salad was kinda salty. Make room for dessert!
3rd time coming to Noks within the month with family and each time it's been incredibly tasty. The service is always fast and convenient with a very easy going vibe. It's hard to go wrong with anything on the menu, would highly recommend the Khao Soi, Larb or their Pad Kapao (comes with fried egg). The pandan mango sticky rice is incredibly tasty and unique (a rare find). Looking forward to returning soon again!
Phenomenal food and service. I've had just about every dish on the menu, and have not been disappointed yet. Being a smaller restaurant, the care from the staff is shown. They are quick to get the food out to you, and that doesn't mean it will be found lacking. The staff are always super friendly and responsive. I can always wholeheartedly recommend this place, since it nevers fails. Always excited to come again and have good times.

I love this place! I want to go back and order most of what I already had plus try so many other dishes! So delicious and worth the drive. Flavors are on point! The crispy rice salad - definitely squeeze the lime. I always order crispy rice salad if it’s on the menu at Thai restaurants and this one is absolutely top 2 on my list! The fried pork belly is a must and you’ll want to use the sauce on everything. No lie. Grilled skewers we chose the variety one to be able to try it all, I would eat each one again, no hesitation. The chicken wings were fried to perfection. Perfect crunch and flavorful. Finished with the pandan mango sticky rice dessert. Wish the pandan flavor was more dominant but it was overall a delicious dessert. Service - it’s a tiny restaurant with some outside seating. But the staff is extremely friendly and very sweet! They’ll explain everything to you if needed. Give recommendations and clear plates, they have big serving dishes. There was a tiny wait when we arrived. They have a sign in sheet. I can see why this place would be on a wait, also note their mid day closing times! Parking - small free parking lot. We didn’t have issues finding parking at all.

Love love love this place!! Everyone we’ve taken here has also kept it starred as a must come back to. I didn’t get our waiters name the past few times but they are family owned and do an amazing job. Such great service and the quality of food really carries out. We had a huge group that took up two huge tables and they were able to get us in, fed and out of there before their midday break with no problems! Thank you so much I will be back every time I’m in Cali :)

3.5 🌟 after 2 times here. First time, I tried at the old location. Second time, I dined in at Bolsa location. Arrived at 6 on Sunday, there is no waitlist. Seated in the back, they have curtains for most of the dining area except the back, so my spot was kinda sunny. Ordered 1 salad, 1 sticky rice, 1 soup and 1 dessert. Salted crab salad and sausage sticky rice are my favorite, spicy but cannot resist. Sausage was super juicy dipping in green thai chili salt. Recommend to try them (bbq meats were dried, so I not like them that much). The oxtail soup has a clear taste compared to the 1st time I tried this time it was less sour. Staff confirmed that it should have clear taste not sour. I do not like the mango sticky rice today since the sticky rice was not that sticky, little wet than usual. If they have coconut ice cream, I recommend you try it than the mango sticky rice. Our total bill with 9.25%tax is $77, Little pricey in my opinion.
For a weekday dinner service, the wait wasn't too bad. Maybe 10-15 minutes? Enjoyed my experience with Laotian food here, which was very similar to Thai cuisine as one of my favorites. Mee Ka Tee: Get this!! The curry noodle soup was excellent with just tons of bursting bright flavors. Just a perfect balance of creamy, spicy and savory. Throw in some acidity with the lime and this dish is to die for Nam Khao: Skip? Or give them a second chance The crispy rice... was actually not that crispy which was very disappointing. The flavors were still there but maybe there was too much of the fermented pork and it made the rice soggy? Either way I hope it was just a weird batch and if I come here again I might give them a second chance at this. Food: 7/10 Service: 7/10 Atmosphere: 8/10 Value: 6/10
It's definitely a gem to find a good Laotian restaurant in orange county. We ordered combo 4 and Tom Saap. The kids ordered something simple, the ribeye skewer and Jasmine rice. We're pleasantly filled by the end of our dinner. Second time around we need to try all the other menu and the desserts.
Food: most dishes are tasty with infused Laotian flavors. I would recommend getting some desserts afterward. Service: attentive host and friendly staff. Atmosphere: trendy and modern vibes.
11/21 Came back the 2nd time 😉🥳. We enjoyed the food more than our first visit. 1. Crispy "pork belly": 4/5 - taste was just right, crispy and not dried out like before. I still think it should be served with something else rather than snacking them alone. 2. Crispy chicken wings: 5/5 - delicious and crispy. The coating was not too thick or heavy. Good flavor. 3. Papaya salad: 3.5/5 - pretty good, fresh and not too fishy but was leaning salty. Liked crispy pork rinds and peanuts 4. Sausage: 5/5 - needless to say it is our favorite, well balanced with flavors, taste, and texture. 5. Steak laab: 3/5 - good, the dressing was douzing therefore salty and overpowered the steak. 6. Stir-fried noodles with shrimp: 4/5 - very good, not too oily, good flavors. Geez we ate like pigs and satisfied 😍 10/2025 We loved their sausages at friends' parties a few of times so we always wanted to dine at the restaurant. We finally went lastnight and here are our verdicts: 1. Hoi Jor - crispy fried crab dumplings: 5/5 - very good. The flavors and texture were spot on. 2. Crispy Pork belly: 4/5 - pretty good and different for my experience. I dont think it is all pork belly, more like pork shoulder strips. I am not sure how it is served in Laos but I thought it should be served with sticky rice or similar... we ate them just like snacks and could get tired. The jeo som sauce was delicious. 3. Larb ribeye salad: 4/5 - very good. The steak was cooked perfectly for medium rare but could use a really grilled smoky flavor. 4. Tom soap pork ribs soup: 5/5 - delicious. The flavors and taste were spot on for me. The ribs were well seasoned and tender, and well fat trimmed. The soup was not greasy. 5. Khao soi: 3.5/5 - good and light, very coconuty but not complex like Manaao's or even mine. Loved the chewy egg noodles and generous chicken. 6. Stir-fried Laos Steak: 3/5 - ok. It was bland, nothing special about it. At least, the chef didn't use any baking soda to make the meat spongy... 7. Pandan sticky rice mango: 4/5 - pretty good but can use extra coconut sauce over the rice. 8. Sticky rice: 2/5 - abit firm instead of soft for my expectation. Service: The main server was swamped so it was pretty slow. However, we appreciated his honest suggestions, not trying to up-sell us . We definitely will come back to try other dishes.
We followed the GPS and it took us to the building behind which had no connection path. It’s the next drive way over. So be sure to turn into the plaza when you see the yellow signage. It’s a corner unit below ATC tax service. This place serves Lao food with a hint of Vietnamese influence from the staff. You’l see it in certain dish like the papaya salad. Everything playing on the tv screen was also in Vietnamese. We had 5 adults and 2 kids. We ordered family style to share: -Roti curry: the bread is used to dip into the curry sauce and it’s so good. -Khao soi w crispy pork - this was a noodle soup dish with egg noodle in a creamy curry broth w chicken, crispy noodles and crispy onions. Generous on the meats. -Papaya salad- medium spice level with chicharron. -BBQ mix combo-came with chicken, sausage, chicken, cucumber snd sticky rice -Fried pork belly-was like popcorn chicken but pork belly and you could taste the oozing fattiness. Crab fried rice - it’s their signature rice and plenty of real crab chunks. The sauce with this was spicy. My favorite dishes were khao soi and crab fried rice.
Flavorful food similar to Thai food but with more pungent smell and taste. Our server was very friendly and helpful with recommended dishes. If you're looking for something different in orange county this is the place to go to.
