Didn’t have reservations, so we opted for the bar menu—and honestly, no regrets. The Snake River Farms wagyu burger with cheddar, bacon, sautéed mushrooms, and onions was fantastic: super juicy and cooked to a perfect medium. One of those burgers you immediately plan to order again. The lobster BLT was also excellent—fresh, rich, and well balanced. Would absolutely order both dishes again. Service really stood out. The bartender never stopped moving, yet still took the time to interact with us and make the experience feel personal. The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxed, making it easy to settle in and enjoy the night. Would definitely return—bar seating included.
First time visit and I was impressed. If you're looking for high end steak, wines, and solid seafood options, this is probably one of the best if not best options in Pittsburgh. The appetizers were all well presented and delicious. East and West Coast oysters, crab cakes, soups and salads were some of what we had. All very good. The main dishes were excellent. While family style side dishes can make it hard to guess how much to order, the portions provided seemed generous enough for 4-6 fair servings if sharing several side dishes in a group or 2-4 servings for those with larger appetites. The steaks were cooked to order and so much flavor. The choice to self cook the Miyazaki on a 500 degree salt block is neat to see - worth trying at least once for the experience. The tomahawk steak is definitely very tasty, and my dog likes the bike afterwards too! The desserts were fair serving sizes to try and take home what remained after stuffing ourselves on the prior items ordered. While not quiet, the atmosphere was comfortable and just muted enough that talking was easy. Tables are well spaced out so you don't feel on top of other guests. My only complaint was the restroom was rather messy. It look like something happened and responsible party was too embarrassed to tell the staff. I didn't revisit to see how quickly they cleaned up after being informed, but their response to being told seemed adequate for me.
This restaurant has ruined me for all restaurants! This is both a wonderful thing and occurs because now I compare all of their food to everyone else’s and unfortunately, there is no comparison. A simple thing such as their French onion soup is so delicious that you honestly won’t be able to have it anywhere else after you taste this. This restaurant is crave able and the dining experience alone is just that it’s an experience. Our waiter and I feel terrible that I cannot recall. His name was phenomenal from start to finish. Everything was done with intent, and he truly cared about our experience and how we enjoyed the food. Every time we come to Pittsburgh, I will definitely be visiting this restaurant.
I had been dying to get up here and try this place for dinner and I finally made it! We made a reservation for the bar area and was impressed with our server from the start. He gave us an amazing overview of the menu, recommendations, and a lengthy list of specials from memory. In the bar/lounge there is also a separate bar menu that you can order from. We started with martinis and they bring them table side in the shaker to serve. Bread service is complimentary. To start, we had 6 oysters, the crab cake, and the beef carpaccio. Oysters were fresh and flavorful. The crab cake was 95% lump crab and served with a tasty remoulade. The carpaccio was my favorite from the starters, and I loved the arugula and aioli on top and our server brought us some grilled sourdough that was the perfect vessel. After we shared a wedge salad. Personally, I was not a huge fan of the size of the pork belly or the onion rings on the salad, and I think the blue cheese dressing could’ve had more blue cheese flavor. Entree wise, we got the petite filet with scallops and the spinalis with crab Oscar. Steaks were well cooked and same with the scallops. The crab Oscar was amazing, super flavorful Béarnaise and the amount of lump crab was unbelievable for the price. We also shared the brussel sprouts which were fine. They had an extensive wine list and we opted for a bottle of champagne to share, it was delicious. Our server Brendan did an amazing job. Overall, I wasn’t sure beforehand that this would be a 5 star review, but I was very impressed and will be back.
It's most likely the best restaurant in the entire Pittsburgh area. The chilled shrimp presentation was spectacular, crab cakes were delicious. Steak with lobster tail was packed with flavor. Just an amazing experience overall! Service was fantastic.
Celebrated our anniversary at Napa Prime and had a fantastic experience! The steak was good, and the bread, mussels, and sides of mushrooms and asparagus were amazing. The service from our guy was outstanding, and they even gave us a free dessert ♥️ Everyone was very attentive and friendly!
My husband and I came here for the first time for our 1 year anniversary on 10/13. Upon entry we were warmly greeted by staff wishing us a happy anniversary. When seated, our table had rose petals and a “happy anniversary” card from the restaurant. The atmosphere was warm, cozy, and luxurious. Our server Tim who was training Alfonso was absolutely amazing. He explained to the whole menu to us, made great dinner recommendations, and took exceptional care of us for our special evening out. Our seafood tasted incredible and our steaks were the best we’ve ever eaten. We had an amazing first experience here and can’t wait to celebrate more special occasions here in the future. Thank you for making our first anniversary so special for us! -The Wiley's
Every single dish tastes amazing. They definitely know how to cook. THE BEST high end restaurant in the area. Amazing service too! Filet Mignon is to die for.
Absolutely amazing. The food is literally some of the best I've ever had. If I could give this 6 stars I would. Def well be returning next visit through Pittsburgh. Caviar, seafood tower and oysters were next level. Props to the kitchen staff there! Awesome tequila selection as well. Top notch!
What an exceptional dinner experience. We had the big room to the back of the restaurant booked for the large party event. Service was just fantastic, timely and on point with suggestions for drinks and food orders. Seafood appetizers were delightful. The cocktail shrimp was one of the best I’ve had. The steaks were perfectly cooked to order for everyone at the table. The salads could have been a meal in itself too. The wine list is 28 pages long!! The restaurant has a great vibe and atmosphere. Can’t wait to come again.
Excellent service and delicious food. The seafood tower "Jeroboam" was awesome but wasn't a multi layer tower as expected, more of a single layer platter that was elevated. Steaks were delicious and cooked as requested. That blue cheese sauce for my steak had my lips smacking with deliciousness inside. The tasty desserts were a happy ending in my family's mouths based on their moans. Upon entry/exit there is a wall of wine lockers with customer names placard on each one. It's very cheesy but I'm sure those customers get off on that. A person pacing around whispering things at the servers was probably very attentive to customer needs but wouldn't hurt to chill a bit... I probably wouldn't have noticed but after 2 hours my family was boring me. I was very pleased with the meal and service.
I dined here with a large group of about 10 people and the service didn’t lack one bit. We did come late on a week night so there may have been additional staff available but they made sure we were taken care of. Each course was amazing. We ordered just about everything and it all tastes great!
It was my first time there and our server was amazing and the steaks were out of this world!!! I had the Snake River wagyu ribeye with butter truffles on top and it was by far the best steak I've ever had (better than in San Sebastian or Florence) it's obviously pricey but it's worth it to treat yourself or someone special. I will definitely be going back but skipping appetizers and desserts and focusing only on steak and sides...okay, maybe dessert too.
We went to Napa Prime lastnight for a little life celebration. Cheyenne was our server and she was next level amazing. Her personality, the food and the atmosphere all made for an unforgettable evening. Keep up the great work, we can’t wait to return!
Woah. I will never order steak anywhere else again except here. The food was absolute top tier. I went with a group so we ordered many of the menu options and nothing was short of "the best ____ I've ever had." The best steak. The best scallops. The best wine. The best risotto. I could've eaten this food in a cardboard box in the rain and would've loved every minute of it, so the fact that service was impeccable and ambiance was perfect was the cherry on top. Fantastic dining experience from start to finish. I can't wait to go back again.
Amazing food, service and all around experience. The perfect place for special occasions. Reservations are a breeze online using OpenTable and you can pick hightop, bar, or regular seating there. The restaurant will call to confirm with you as well. You can also select the reason for your visit and in our case they were kind enough to have a birthday card waiting! All of the staff is top notch, personable and knowledgeable about the menu - they never steer you wrong. Can't say enough good things about this establishment and looking forward to trying out their sister restaurant Off the Hook next!
Had the A5 Wagyu and it was quite possibly the best steak I’ve ever had. The service was top notch! I will be back.
Wonderful steak house. We enjoyed an amazing dinner on a wednesday night. The food was exceptional, and the Lavender bees knees cocktail sealed the deal! Will definitely be going back to try another cocktail and some awesome food!
Me and my family go here annually for a birthday dinner and it's honestly one of the best places I've ever eaten. The service is second to none and I've yet to have a bad item off the menu. They source their beef, they dry age some of it, and they even have A5 waygu if that's your thing or you're looking to try it. Love this place.
Phenomenal!!! Alberto was knowledgeable and made great suggestions. The manager Stephen gave us wonderful wine pairings and demoed the Wagyu cooked on salt rock; which I highly recommend. It melts in your mouth like butter. This is the BEST restaurant I’ve been to in Pittsburgh.
A-5 and DONNIE IRIS. Absolutely some of the best service and food I've had in my lifetime. From the moment we walked in to the second we left it was one of the best culinary experiences I've had in the greater Pittburgh area. The food and service was top notch along with the cigar lounge. After a wonderful dinner of waygu and wine we were treated to DONNIE IRIS at the cigar lounge. It was a 10/10 experience and we can't wait for our next visit.
We celebrated our anniversary here last week. All I have to say is WOW! We were surprised to find our table decorated and a nice card. They gave us a free dessert to celebrate our night. Dinner was delicious! We will definitely be back!
My wife and I chose this place to celebrate our first anniversary and it did not disappoint! The food was amazing, we each got a steak and a side. There is more than enough food. What we loved the most was we weren’t rushed at all and it felt more like an experience than a dinner. Normally my wife and I are in and out of places in 30-60 minutes, we were there 2 hours!!! Would definitely recommend!!!
Honestly this is a pricy place, BUT! The food quality is high, and the service is excellent. We celebrated the anniversary here and kept getting surprised from the dishes. Highly recommended wagyu (cook yourself on a salt stone) and the bone marrow.
Recently visited Napa Prime for my birthday. I was greeted with an Old Fashioned as I was seated. Napa Prime has one of the best in Pittsburgh. My filet is always cooked to perfection the first time.
Cherie was an amazing bartender! Prioritized us to all of our accommodations, gave great suggestions, and made us feel extremely elevated. 10/10 recommend
5💫+! Impeccable from entrance to finish; Atmosphere, Jessica’s pleasant, engaged service & especially manager, Joe’s energy, attentiveness & chivalry! Ultra spot for a romantic evening:celebration!
Went here for a bachelor party dinner. Starters were great. Steaks were phenomenal. The staff was kind and really went above and beyond while we were there.
The food is always amazing. My partner and I decided on a whim to reserve a table and get a late dinner. The wine was fantastic, the food was delicious, but the service was outstanding. Tim is a phenomenal server - he’s personable, attentive, and fun. He made the experience memorable and still made sure our glasses were never empty. We will be back for the food but also for Tim.
I have been enjoying NAPA for over five years (since they first opened!). The service has always been exceptional, the food is fantastic, the atmosphere is second to none! I try to get there once a month, whether to just sit at the cigar bar with Todd, a business dinner, or an evening with friends. I am always greeted by multiple team members, some I've gotten to know by name. When they first opened, Lisa would always greet nearly every customer, and would know many by name. Lisa and Glenn also own Off The Hook, and I'll see Lisa there for lunch on occasion, and she always will walk over and make time for a conversation. Unexpected, but always appreciated! I like to support good, hardworking people, and it's rare that I leave reviews (this one, is long overdue!). Thank you, John, you've become a friend, and you're an exceptional leader. I'll see you soon!
My husband and I have gone here a couple times now and their food/service has been top notch! Every waiter/waitress we have got has been so funny and kind, just made our experience so enjoyable! 100% recommend. My parents are going there tonight for their anniversary!
Love the atmosphere and service. Everyone was so friendly and nice. We had a large party with children and they gave them a little box of toys to keep them entertained. Food was amazing but definitely plan to spend a lot.
Delicious food and great experience. Amanda took amazing care of me. She was warm, kind and had an infectious personality.
Great experience! The atmosphere was classy and comfortable, and the staff was attentive from start to finish. Highly recommend for an amazing steakhouse dinner!
I didn't know they had a cigar bar in addition to a fine dining steakhouse. Would go back just to try the cigar bar. The service was good but not memorable. Good collection of fine wines.🍷I recommend the ribeye and bone morrow... paired with a savory compound butter. Advice; Resere a table online to avoid wait times. Perfect for special occasions or birthday dinner. Dress business casual.
One of the better top-end restaurants in Pittsburgh. The only problem with being a chef & owner of Around the World Catering and Private Chefs, is being able to cook better than what you can buy at most restaurants. But if I need or want to go out and eat, this is one of the few places I select. The only problem is service. I asked for some more water and didn't get it in the cigar area. I would have ordered another glass of wine but she never showed back up she seemed more concerned with the people that she was talking to at the bar.
I have eaten food from this restaurant twice--once as takeout and most recently inside the restaurant. My past takeout dinner was ready for pickup in about 30 minutes. In particular, the crab cake really stood out as being amazing, and the other appetizers and entrees were good. During my in-person visit yesterday, the seating host and waitress were very polite. My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary, and the staff gave us a greeting card and a free dessert. We enjoyed our lobster bisque, Japanese A5 Miyazaki strip steak, creme brulee, crab hoelzel, filet mignon, lobster macaroni and cheese, and chocolate chip skillet. I am attaching photos of the Japanese wagyu, so you can see the marbled fat and the sea-salt block on which I cooked. The total cost for the entire meal was $256 plus tip (not including any alcohol).
Excellent dining experience! You get what you pay for, and in this case, you pay a lot and get a lot! The steak and salad shined brightly, but the sides were a little less impressive. For special occasions, it is hard to imagine a better place for steak lovers. I would be more than happy to come back again, particularly if someone else is footing the bill!
The steak was good, but nothing you wouldn't find at restaurants, in my experience, in terms of how good it was or how it was cooked. The Snake River Ribeye could have used some salt (or a little extra) to bring out the flavor as it was almost not noticeable until I added some. Also, it was a bit rough to cut through (not sure if knife was dull or way it was cooked) and had a decent bit of charring I had to clear off. The asparagus was fine and I don't think needed the toppings as they didn't add anything. Out of our three sides, the corn was the best. The prime rib my wife ordered was pretty good even after reheating and didn't dry out which was great. The drinks were a worthwhile price for cocktails and beer. The tempura starter was very good as well as the cheesecake. Atmosphere was very good and relaxing and the staff was courteous and helpful. I probably wouldn't go back due to pricing and comparable quality at so called "lower end" places, but the experiencewas nice. Part of the pricing may be the experience, but the prices outweigh a number of the menu options.
I like a good steakhouse. Napa prime is one of the best in the area. However, my night fell short with them. First the service is the best. They are attentive, quick to react, and pleasant. This goes for all of them. I noticed all servers interacting with their tables quickly and efficiently. The managers came around to ask how everything was. The atmosphere is really nice. Its darker lighting, nice tables, good accoustics that keep the noise level down. The food was not where I wanted it to be. My guest had a great meal. The appetizer was lobster bisk soup. That was served with the lobster and other ingredients cold, then the soup poured over it. Presentation was awesome. Then, a filet mignon butterflied was served to perfect cooking temp. I had French onion soup which was really good. My steak however was disappointing. I should have taken pics of that. I have tonfirstvsay that I like a steak with a small amount of pink-usually called medium well. Whe mine came out, only the edges were cooked properly. The inside was completely raw - and I don't mean rare, I mean raw. The waiter noticed and I told him yes, take it back but after cutting into it, I wanted sure how they would get it cooked right. The manager came back and it was CHARRED - it was litterally crunchy charcoal on some pieces. So basically, they flamed it with a torch or broiled it high. I would have brought a new full cut. It was that raw. In the end it tasted just ehh..... The asparagus was amazing. Served with parm and butter. The mashed potatoes were really addictive. No alcohol and our bill was 235.00. It was nice to get out and have a private dinner, but the cost was not worth it to me with my cut pretty much double cooked and charred. I know it's tight to cook a steak more than medium accurately, but for a high end steakhouse, this should be trivial. Dessert was Mississippi mud cake and a cheesecake. The mud pie was great. The cheesecake wasn't. I have a sweet tooth so I ate it anyway. This is a one off review. I'll be going back again and update this review with my new observations. Again service was the best.
The food and wine is consistently excellent! However, we are very put off by the waitress (Molly) who introduced herself three times, from the minute we sat down her mission was to rush us, she insisted that we put on our main course right away but she would hold it until we were done with appetizers! The food arrived way before we were done and she piled it onto the table! What these people don't realize is that people go out to enjoy their time! She was constantly trying to dominate and both her and another young man arrived at our table and repeated "can we wrap anything up for you to go" eventually my husband said, we just started eating so we don't need anything wrapped up! It's very unfortunate and uncomfortable. You can tell that this is all about training, we had a similar experience at Off the Hook a couple of weeks ago!
It's the second time I've gone and been super underwhelmed with the food. The first time was overcooked steak with foie gras that arrived burnt and late. Second time the bar menu looked good, but the food was not. Overcooked octopus appetizer and mediocre meats and sauces. I likely won't return and would suggest elsewhere if invited.
My husband and I had booked a 7:30 reservation on OpenTable on a Tuesday and it was packed to the brim. We had called and the hostess said that their earliest availability was at 8:00, but OpenTable had an earlier time which we chose. Upon arrival at 7:00, we were greeted promptly and were told we could go to the bar or to the cigar lounge, and they would find us when our table was ready. We opted to go to the bar and it was packed. We were able to order 2 drinks (a spicy mango margarita, and an old-fashioned), both of which were very good but it went downhill very quickly thereafter. SERVICE - 2/5: Our reservation was at 7:30 and we weren’t sat until about 7:45 - ok fine. Our waiter came by 15 minutes later and ask if we had been before (no), and told us about the menu and the origin of the steaks. He told us he’d let us look over the menu and he’d be back… little did we know he’d come back in another 20 minutes (we’re 35 minutes into sitting down at this rate and starved). FOOD: 1. 1/2 dozen oysters | Rating: 4/5: they were ok, they came with 3 sauces (hot sauce, cocktail, and horseradish). They were served over ice but weren’t super cold.. they were just ok. 2. NY Strip Steak Oscar Style | Rating: 2/5 3. Wagyu Steak | Rating: 2/5 *Myself and husband had the same thoughts on our steaks: Both of us had ordered our steaks Oscar style. The Oscar style crab on top had no flavor, and I had bits of crab shell that I had to pick out and put on my plate (not very appealing on a birthday date). There was an abundance of crab on top but it was very bland. Both steaks came in a pool of its own juices, meaning it wasn’t rested properly. They also came with 3 of the largest asparagus we’ve ever seen. We also did not like that the steak tasted burnt from the char grill. It actually was so overpowering it ruined the natural flavor of the steak. Either we had gotten 2 of the toughest steaks they had or their knives were very dull. For the price we paid, the steak should’ve melted in our mouths like butter. 4. Butter Whipped Potatoes | Rating: 4/5: these had a ton of flavor and were good but there was a pool of butter floating on top which didn’t look very appetizing. Little details like mixing would’ve gone a long way. 5. Creme brûlée | Rating: 2/5: it came out cold… almost like it had been fired the day before and then was kept in the fridge and then brought out… didn’t taste fresh. 6. Skillet Cookie | Rating: 5/5: this was really good and gooey. Our dinner cost over +$450 for the 2 of us and I quite frankly cannot say that we’d be back or even recommend it. Between service and the food, it took us over 3 hours from the time of getting to our table, to eating, then leaving which is just too long. I will also say that the table next to us was treated VERY differently. That table had asked for a “special wine menu” and had waiter after waiter waiting on their every request. Did they spend more money than us? Likely, but the service should be the same no matter what. I wouldn’t recommend going to Napa, I think you can get much better service and food elsewhere for much less.
Split the A5 with the wife, 2 drinks a piece, mushrooms/lobster mac. Bill was approximately 300 with tip. Specials were given on a recycled copy paper as if you were at a local bar. Extremely rushed to get in and out for our early reservation… we were at a high top at the bar. Total dining experience was about 40 minutes. We prepared the steak ourself on a the salt block. It was decent but definitely not worth the 116 dollar price tag. Mushrooms and lobster mac were bland at best. Not worth the price of admission.
Another typical overpriced restaurant masquerading as a 4 or 5 star restaurant with skimpy portions that are inferior in taste and quality to cheaper restaurants. While the waitstaff were mostly friendly (one of the bartenders had a perpetual frown on her face), the service itself was atrocious. We waited over an hour for our food, which ended up being the rough equivalent of a small appetizer in terms of portion, without being offered any bread like many people seated near us had, so that we were starving by the time the “meal” was served and starving after the handful of bites the entire pathetic entree offered. The ambiance of the restaurant is nice when you first walk in; however, the temperature is borderline frigid to the extent that my girlfriend could barely tolerate it. As someone who enjoys fine dining, I was very disappointed with the overall experience and can’t see myself going back.
Maybe the 6th time I've been here. Lobster bisque was the worst soup I've ever had, strong off putting fish taste and possibly a burned roux base. Waygu ribeye about as thin as my pinky finger and a little overcooked. Wife got petit filet which was cooked perfectly with a good rub. The au pouvre extra sauce was gross, tasted like canned dinty Moore stew. Reminded me of what Hoss's food tasted like as a kid except worse. Coal roasted mushrooms cooked correctly but no seasoning. Whipped mashed potatoes were great... But 300$ for all this? Total waste. Wonder if they were having chef problems in the back. It was a Tuesday for what its worth. Done with this place.
This is a pretentious establishment. The bartenders are not very qualified and produce mediocre drinks. The air is cold and I'm sure that they don't turn the heat on until 5. I read other negative reviews and found that I saw the same deficits. But I think locals are fooled by the swank and that's good enough for them 😉 The server was very good. The front area is very loud and unruly at times. I've been here 4 times and sadly I was never impressed. I've been all over the world and this joint wouldn't pass in " real " cities like Dallas or Chicago but it may be a big fish in A little Yinzer city. 😂 Bread is nice and hot but the tops seemed like burnt crumbs were on top . Seafood smells atrocious and that's a very bad sign. It permeated the area. That means it's not fresh , Google it! I guess any place with a cigar bar isn't going to be upscale. On another note the restrooms are very clean and quite nice. They can do much better on the food. Everything is a la carte and the prices may fool locals into believing it's a nice establishment but it's not. It's food quality that is most important
We have been to this restaurant numerous times over the years for special events. Last night we went for my dad’s birthday dinner and we had the absolute worst service. Our waitress from the time we sat down to the time we left was nasty. She rushed us through our entire dinner and completely ruined the vibe of the entire celebration. There was zero table side manner and when you are spending top dollar for a dinner you deserve to be treated with respect. Our dinner for 7 people was well over $1k and we left disappointed and angry. We will not be back.
Disappointed with the food. It was bland, cold and not worth the price they charge. I contracted food poisoning from my meal and was so ill and vomiting at 4am last night. I booked a reservation for Valentine’s Day and our seating arrangement was awful and unexpected being next to the loud, noisy bar instead of the dining room like we wanted. I’ve never had this experience and spent so much last night. Extremely disappointed.
A $50, supposedly prime ribeye requested medium arrived paper thin , cooked well and was at least 50%fat. Probably one of the worst steaks I have ever been served. A lot of hype but the food was not impressive at all. The waiter did her best to upsell anything ad everything. Go elsewhere, anywhere, it has to be better.
