The Crown Inn

I took my clients to The Crown, and from start to finish it was a complete success. The food was absolutely delicious. I picked a dish from the specials board, and it couldn’t have been better. But what really made the evening was the staff. They were so warm and attentive, always checking in and making sure we had everything we needed. Every little detail was taken care of, and it felt like such a personal, genuine service. We all left happy and impressed. I can’t recommend The Crown enough.

Called in for an impromptu lunch with my daughter where we were warmly greeted by the ladies behind the bar. The waiter, Mark, showed us to our table and looked after us from then on and nothing was too much trouble, he was so attentive and jolly. Both meals were lovely and reasonably priced too

Boxing day meal with a large group of us, fantastic service and food! Thanks to all the staff at the Crown! Feel awful for you all having to work over Christmas, but please note that we really appreciate it and hope you all have a great new year!

Ann was our waitress, very friendly and attentive. We ordered the Glazed Pork Belly and it was delicious. The food and service here is always second to none and we will continue to keep coming back at any given opportunity. Thank you, once again.

This was the nicest Christmas dinner I've ever had in the run up to Christmas. The roast potatoes were crispy, the turkey succulent and even the pigs in blankets had good quality sausages. This was miles apart from the usual mass produced offering.We will definitely return. Their gluten free options were also fantastic.

Lovely local pub we come here every Wednesday , very attentive staff and service is always quick here !! Me and my partner enjoyed the smothered chicken this week ! Thankyou to the staff and complements to the chefs !!! 😁🙌🏻

What can I say..... We both had a mixed grill and it was perfect, Mark was very attentive without making us feel rushed. I think this may just be my favourite place to eat. Will be reccomending to family and friends.

Always one of my favourite places! The food was to die for and the atmosphere and staff are great. Caitlin was such a wonderful member of the team, Caitlin was incredibly attentive and had a wonderful smile throughout running to and from! Thankyou so much!

Booked a very last minute table to grab some food to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. Although it was pretty busy the food came out quickly and was really good, highly recommend 👌

Have visited multiple times, but hadn't been for a while but Mark remembered us from the moment we walked in greeted with a smile as always. Service was incredible, Mark goes above and beyond. Food was amazing as always. Will definitely be visiting again soon 😊

From the minute we walk the staff were so friendly we hadn’t book our sons at the university so it was a snap decision meal the food was amazing and the service was superb well worth a visit and this is now our go to place when visiting our son . Thank you for an amazing meal.

The pub was so welcoming and decorated beautifully for Christmas. It was so clean and the staff were wonderful. The food was amazing and the service spot on. It was also dog friendly with dog blankets, a water station and dog treats which made the experience awesome for our dog too.

Had a table for 25 people , the service was amazing thank you to Mark especially 😊 Food beautiful, hot and presented beautifully too. Not one complaint from our table and atmosphere in the Pub was great. Top marks and would recommend to anyone, it was a lovely Boxing Day 🎄

Mothers' day lunch was very good. Huge portions and attentive service from Abbie. Would go back again.

Such a lovely pub decor was lovely the outside space is amazing lovely touch with the blankets on the sofas to keep you warm around the fire so pretty. Looked like a great menu did eat here but the food looked lovely and well priced, drinks were a little expensive put over all a really lovely pub would definitely go back

Family meal out, 4 adults and 1 toddler in a high chair. Lovely calm atmosphere. Food was good. Mark looked after us well.

Lovely meal when dropping our daughter at Uni. Menu caters for all, beer selection excellent. Mark provided amazing service at the table, nothing too much trouble. Will see you again soon.

We had a gift voucher for Greene King and looked at places locally to use to use this. We saw this lovely country feel pub about 20 minutes away and the food was amazing. Our server Mark was absolutely lovely and helped us with any questions we had about the food / recommendations. Thank you to Mark and the Team for a lovely evening at The Crown

We had an early evening meal 5 adults and our 10 year old granddaughter Very warm welcome and a nice table was found for us, the food was excellent and beautifully presented. It was all absolutely delicious and the service was excellent Mark was attentive but not rushing us at all. Deserts were lovely and some different offering than your usual pub grub We thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to returning very soon

Reasonable food and an attentive service. However, a billing mistake at the till resulted in an electronic refund. This refund has yet to be received in my account over a week later. Unacceptable in this day and age. Update - quickly resolved by phoning the manager.

Always a nice atmosphere. The foods decent and a nice range of beers and wine. We have been here a few times now, there's a beer garden for the kids to play in and run around. We would return and we would recommend.

After reading all the reviews we were quite disappointed with the experience. I had a chicken burger but chicken was so dry and chewy and didn’t even eat most of it and burger itself was falling apart before I even picked it up, my partner had mixed grill and asked for steak medium rare but it was more like medium/well done. His chicken was also very chewy and dry. Didn’t want to make a fuss to the staff as it was 27th of December but definitely won’t be going there again unfortunately.

After a long riverside walk we were looking forward to a lunchtime treat. A but disappointed really, the poor waitress / bar person was rushed off her feet, little or no support, the menu and specials didn’t tie up with the tablet she had ( obvs not her fault but embarrassing for the poor woman) food took ages to come, was very average and waiting to pay was over 15 minutes. Sorry but they need to up their game. Tried again today but still not good. Food is just ok, expensive for what it is and not very well cooked. However, the sticky toffee pudding dessert was excellent. Check out the carrots!!! Would you serve these???

Lovely old pub and the food was standard. Nothing special but as you’d expect and hope from a pub meal….slightly over priced but not too bad. BUT The slowest service I’ve ever experienced!! Booked a table for 13:15. We arrived bang on time….kids had 2 courses and we only had a main…took 2 hours in total!! Wasn’t an overly busy day, plenty of staff….no apology when we mentioned the very long wait……overheard another waitress apologising to another booking. Groups were arriving after us, being served and finishing their meals before we even got served our main meals We definitely WILL NOT be returning and NOT recommending here to our friends and family…. A shame as we’ve heard good things about here.

I was so disappointed with my meal. After spending my money, I was given the absolute worst Gammon, Egg, pineapple, chips and peas. The only thing warm on the plate was the egg. The rest was cold. Chips over cooked, mouldy pineapple and peas that looked a century old. Not to mention waiting for nearly an hour for two main meals on a quiet Tuesday evening. I am so unsatisfied with my experience, I won’t be coming back.

Food portions were very small, overpriced and the worst thing was it wasn't cooked well and tasted bland. I would never eat here again. There are much better pubs out there serving food that is actually enjoyable to eat
