Crow Bar has such a cool vibe! I love the outdoor area. The inside sometimes feels a little cramped but I'm hardly ever out there. They have a food truck that offers food to crow bar clients. I've never tried the food but it's a cool partnership they have going. I love their micheladas. The mix they use gives it the perfect combination of ingredients..always with a DosXX :)

Honestly, this is not a place I would have ventured to if my friends hadn't brought me here. It looks a little "dark" and my mom told me to stay away from places like that. We booked a private party here though, and I was so impressed with the friendliness of the staff. It seemed that they enjoy their jobs. They asked if we had a good time and thanked us for being there.

Good place for a fairly cheap and casual drink with friends, to play some bar games, or sit at the bar and watch old movies inside... It's a neighborhood bar. The parking is not ideal but you really shouldn't have to drive to your local bar anyway.

Love this metal Halloween centric bar. You can either have a cheap beer or a delicious craft cocktail. Dogs are allowed on weekends, just not friday and Saturday.

Great bar. I used to visit Austin when I lived abroad and when the crow bar first opened I checked it out and liked it. As they've gotten older it has become cooler in the process. I love this bar now and look forward to the opportunities I get to hang here. Their crazy cocktail menu is a little much for me but they have a good beer and liquor list so that keeps me happy. I loved the environment and the metal music was just what I needed! The bartender was very helpful in giving recommendations about the beer selections and providing meaningful conversations, I wish I would had caught his name. The thin crust pizza from next door was alright tasting nothing special. But my experience overall was just amazing and will come back to dance some metal song from Ozzy, Slayer, King Diamond.

I have been a Crow Bar frequenter since I attended St. Edwards in 2010. I have had 3 private parties in their Crows nest and have always gotten wonderful service and friendly vibes from all the staff. Jason, who often slings drinks behind the bar is especially awesome! Such a great local bar that is severely underrated. Love this spot!

The best little dive bar in the SoCo area. I love this place, they have daily specials, amazing staff, and make a hell of a cocktail. There is a decent selection of draft beers. The patio is one of my favorite places to sit down, have a beer and smoke a cigarette. Shout out to Mandy for being an awesome bartender.

Love the new location! They did a great job of keeping the vibe of the old Crowbar but in a bigger, nicer space. Lots of seating, the patio feels better than the old south Congress location because it isnt on such a busy road, staff is cool, decent drink prices. Glad one of my favorite places reopened and came back bigger and better!

We arrived too late for food.. so I don't have a real rating for that. 5 stars because I don't want it to impact the overall score. We ended up stopping in here because it was right by the airport, and my friend's luggage was delayed 2 hours on a later flight. So we stopped in for a drink. Chill and divey, just how we like it. Great service. Would definitely go back, just wish it was up north closer to home!

Elaborate gothic themed bar with many decorations and weekly drink specials. There are several rooms of booths and bar stools and a patio. It has a performance space and large free parking lot. Located near the airport and along the freeway, it's a convenient place to stop in for a drink.

Awesome bar with cool atmosphere. I feel like it leans into a goth/ metal vibe. If you go, you gotta try the chub pizza. The drinks are also a good size. We tried the Moscow mule (amazing) and the lavender haze (I loved it but it was too lavender-y for husband. Might not be for all). Definitely worth returning to!

I mean this with complete adoration: this place just opened and it is already a glorious craphole. Authentically dingy and sketchy in appearance/architecture while the staff is somehow upbeat and polite. The PA is crap but the sound person is still killing it. I could not love a new place more. If they had figured out how to preemptively make the floor simultaneously sticky and slippery they would have really nailed it. I mean it is only a matter of time before someone kicks a sink off the bathroom wall and the picture will be complete.

Been loving the new location. All the staff are personable, and in good spirits. The dark aesthetic is something I was craving to find in Austin again. I also love that it’s a little tucked away and going there feels intentional. Plenty of parking, and been loving the fact they are a venue now too! Highly recommend the meatball sub, and the fried pickles are the best I’ve ever had. Their drink menu is pretty extensive and they can make a great mocktail too if you’re not in the mood for alcohol. 10/10 spot!

Fun bar! I loved their jukebox and the phone booth photo op! They have a big menu. Loved the outdoor area. Loved the giant jenga blocks that we can play with. Nice pool room. Loud music, you have to shout in order to chat with the people next to you. Seemed like a lot of people were there solo. They have a pizza menu. It was easy to park for free on the street of the bar on a Friday night at 9 pm. They have weekly specials offered.

This place is having a very public identity crisis. Is it a craft cocktail oasis, a dive bar, a classic Texas beer garden, or what? Good drink specials help visitors overcome the confusion. I'd like to see this place carry food or at least have the trailer next door open its doors when the bar does.

Great cocktail selection, nice patio, staff is hit or miss though. I've had great conversations with some of the staff and gotten a total "better-than-this-and-now-and-all-of-you" vibe from others. Customer service is key!!

Crow Bar is a great place to sit and enjoy some drinks with friends or a date. The atmosphere is quintessentially Austin, a little divey, a little grungy, with plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor - though like many places in Austin parking is a little tight.

Cool place. Good selection. Friendly bartenders. Sat outside and enjoyed myself immensely. Even though it's right in the street, car noise was not a problem.

A draft beer, a cocktail, and two shots of mid-grade will always come out to exactly $33… test it. Weird vibe, but alright enough place to visit after picking up poke next door if you’re in the area.

Great rotating selection of original and classic cocktails. Decent draught beer selection. Always has a food truck out back and they allow you to eat inside the bar. The patio might be a little crowded for you if you're not a smoker, but it does have a couple of relatively secluded booths for relative hermits like myself.

Solid neighborhood dive bar. I'm here about 1x/month. Staff is legitimate as long as you don't act a fool. Indoor seating with a lot of booths (my favorite). Out door seating is ample, but the local crowd is heavy on (cigarette) smokers, so it can be hard to get away from that sometimes.

This is one of my favorite places to go have a drink. They have two seating areas and a middle area with pool. The outside patio is a great place to sit and enjoy a good selection of beers or your spirit of choice. There is a bar outside too but you'll have to select beer in a can or bottle, no drafts. If you are not a fan of cigarette smoke then you might want to venture inside. There you will find a dark, mysterious interior where you can cozy up in a booth or table. You'll be able to get a beer on draft or special of the day. It's once of the few bars where you can actually talk inside because it never gets too loud. Perfect neighborhood bar.

Neat dive bar! Good place to hang out and chill vibes. The only negative is the fact I recently moved to Austin and had to get a new ID and in doing such got a paper ID that I was told would work anywhere and I haven’t had issues anywhere except this establishment; was refused entry and told that is was not a valid form of ID even tho the DMV says it is. Someone doesn’t know there facts.....

Some reviewers call it grungy- maybe that’s the right word. There were a lot of smokers on the patio, which my small party dodged as best we could. A couple of things I liked about this place: two stalls in the ladies room instead of just one, and the bouncer/maitre’d (I can call him whatever I want!) had very kind, welcoming words when I came in. Had a $4 draft beer, which is the going rate and very reasonable.

Cute little bar - outside seating, pool and other games available. Super friendly and staff, draft beers, and custom cocktails. Parking is limited but offered street side if needed. Bring back the vegan food trucks! 😉

Talk about one my favorite local "dive bars" -- although I don't see it that way at all -- rather it 's a place where anything goes. You won't find too many tourists, so I appreciate that very much. Wanna know the best part? It's the crazy cocktail concotions! Love the super chill vibe, too. I definitely recommend it for a change of pace.

The only reason I am not giving this venue five stars is that it does not have an area for live music. Other than that this bar totally rocks! What makes this entire Place alive is the Norse okay Vibe and hard rock / metal jukebox. Any bar that has pool tables has always seen the felt as there claim to fame. This far does the same with black felt and it looks so good. The outdoor patio is Texas Viking collage and the food truck outside make top-notch pizzas. The other downside to this place is the parking. Be warned if you get there late you might have to park on the street in a residential neighborhood.

This place is very relaxed and fun. A gothic and dark theme but definitely a fun dive bar for a few drinks. The drinks are a bit pricey but absolutely delicious!

It is a little divey, a little grimy, and a little sticky. Nothing exciting. They do have the occasional nice special. It looks a little sketchy from the outside. I am more or less neutural towards Crow Bar. I wouldn't avoid it, but I also wouldn't seek it out.

I think this place is grossly over rated. The staff isnt the nicest, but they have a decent selection of cocktails and drinks. They also have some "large" version childhood cames (such as connect 4), and they have mustache wednesdays which is 3 dollar makers mark.

Very average.. high priced drinks.. heaters outside don't keep you warm at all.. nothing inherently wrong with the place but it's definitely nothing special.

Drinks are strong. Pretty good value on weekdays. Good luck ever playing pool in this place, though. Date night couples will lord them all night. Not much else to do but drink your drink and smoke your cigs if you come alone. There's always a single someone there with a dog commanding attention. Not much different than anywhere else in town, aside from the metal on the jukebox. It's alright, I guess.

Good beer, good location, they have amazing-sounding specialty drinks which I have yet to try. When I do and they blow me away I will update my review. Until then there really isn't anything to distinguish Crow Bar from any of the other bars out there. Being in South Austin it's a nice change from SoCo and S. 1st, but some might find it too hipster-laden.

I think I reviewed this place on Yelp before, so I'm sticking with my review (though I did add one star since they've been ok since my bad experience). I gave them 1 star before because Thursday is $3 (or maybe $4, I don't recall exactly) pint night, but I got charged $6. Somebody from there responded that they don't sell any pints for $6 and suggested that maybe I'm just dumb and have no business going there. Weirdly enough, my bank statement still says $6 despite what he said. I still end up here from time to time since a few friends like it (and, to their credit, I haven't had another bad experience since then), but if I'm picking the bar, I would choose somewhere else. Proceed with caution.

There's nothing really special about this bar but it's busy because it's far south and by St. Ed's. They have recently rebranded from a faux dive to a "craft cocktail" location and the execution has been whatever. The drinks are not good for one and the bartenders make fun of you if you order cocktail drinks from the menu instead of beer and shots. So don't believe the hype about the craft cocktails, but it's an ok college dive if you are up for that.

Went to get a few drinks Christmas day, was told I looked extremely drunk. I had 1 beer, left and had a beer and a shot at their competition down the road. Was told that I looked 'strange' on return by a lady bartender. While I pulled into the back parking lot, the spot next to me was occupied by a vehicle where people were having sex in full view. Funny, heard no complaints. I've been to plenty of bars, never had much problems elsewhere and am a long time Austin resident. Yet, I show my allergenic face here, and the first thing the girl says is 'you look too messed up'.

I recently went to Crow Bar. The service was pretty good, but the inside is pretty grimey. I guess it did have a dive bar feel. So it is what it is. I did like the patio complete with food truck. Always an essential to have food around when you're drinking. Overall though...not for me.

Denied access for me and three bicycle buddies because I brought in my water bottles to be filled and one of us had an empty can in her back pocket that she picked up off the ground to transport it to an appropriate bin. Not interested if they dont like cyclists.

This WAS my go to bar since moving to Austin in 2018. After a random, unwarranted, and rude encounter with a complete stranger I will sadly not be returning. My friend and I were sitting in the corner of the pool room, talking, eating, and drinking…and this complete stranger comes up to my friend and very rudely accuses him of looking at her in a certain way (what way?). We were taken aback, confused, and said we’re sorry, but we weren’t doing anything but enjoying our time chatting (in a room she was not even sitting in). About 5 minutes later, a bartender and 2 other employees come over to ask my friend to leave because he was upsetting one of their regulars. I’m not sure what even happened. Or why it required more than 1 employee to deliver the message (honestly felt pretty racist, which is just sad). We had made no contact with this woman prior to her stern accusation. One random act of rudeness is all it took to not want to come back. It’s honestly just a random sad ending to an otherwise great evening we were having at a different bar.

I’ve been here twice and I really love the atmosphere. Unfortunately on my second visit my card was charged twice the amount of what my tab was. I was also charged a second time for $18 which I did not authorize. My bank said the second charge was made at 2:30 am so they most likely used my card to close someone else’s tab at last call...although I had been long gone by then. I’ve called multiple times and no one picks up. Sad because seems like a cool place but definitely will not be back and will let friends know my experience as well.

They hate animals and came with my blind friend and his guide dog and they straight up asked for paperwork on the dog! As the dog is in harness on duty, friend blind. We were only coming here to meet up with friends and they sure make it clear everywhere they hate animals, and pets are not welcome. I told the bouncer you should review the code on guide dogs if you’re confused. They even have a patio that you can enter from the street. Don’t give these people any business.
