Ingredients are thoughtful and fresh. Generous portions on the salads. Best of all, the bartender was playing Beauty and the Beast while quoting the whole movie and cutting up with customers about it the entire time I was there. 10/5 stars

Great first impression. Great deal on happy hour pizza. The dough is top notch and the server, Brandon, was awesome! Will definitely want to return!

Spectacular calzone, they really get the crust right, and the canolies are fresh and delicious. The staff is so kind and attentive that I was practically taken aback! Dante took care of my group tonight and he was just superb, I really felt welcome here 😊

Everything Philadelphia memorabilia! Food was dynamo not a single bad entree! We did cheesesteak, pizza, Italian sub, root beer and beers and enjoyed the taste and ambiance! We had just walked from Austin City Limits music fest. Took Uber here. Server was great and on top of things! I grew up Chester County so this was a taste of home! Definitely dine here indoor and outdoor seating!

I was looking for a new Philly Cheesesteak place and I found it. We were immediately greeted upon entering the restaurant. Brandon went over the menu with us and got us really excited to try the food. We were not disappointed we both got the Philly Special and I added sweet peppers. I had the tea which was really good I love a strong black tea I only wish it came in a bigger glass I kept needing refills. The restrooms were really clean and this was at dinner time around 7pm. Over all we loved it and can’t wait to go back.

This place has always been top notch. I’ve been eating their food since they were stationed at the Valero Gas Station down the road. Pizza, salad, sandwhiches, appetizers nothing but solid choices. When Gourdough’s shut down, I was excited to see Grata’s move in. Adding a dive bar atmoshphere to solid recipes and extending the menu was a great call. Dante might be the best bartender in town, but he’s definitely the best on South Lamar. Great food, right prices, and incredible service from Dante, Chloe, and the rest of the team makes this spot a hard place to miss out on. From a tenured Chef and restaurant manager, there’s few establishments in town that provide this level of atmosphere and service. Whatever you do, hold on to Dante. He’s different.

If you’re a birds fan, this is THE spot. I had the sweet heat and pepperoni pizza and they were 10/10. Portions and flavor AND ON time? Feels like I never waited for food but with a full room you should expect a MINIMAL wait. Loved every minute spent there. Get there early and you’ll have a seat. Great experience overall. GO BIRDS

I met the owner Diago aroynd town. he told me about his spot.. super nice guy.. and after glancing over the menu.. everything looked delicious.. so I had to make a stop by. I ordered the "Big Dom" hoggie sandwich and a pepperoni pizza.. which happened to be $10 since it was happy hour!! (3pm-6pm I thinks was happy hour times)... the sandwich was fresh and all the flavors blended well together not having any one flavor over powering the other.. great sandwhich!! The pizza was also really good. The crust was soft but also had a nice crunch from "char bubbles". Pepperoni was flavorful and had chips endges.. cooked perfectly. Great pizza as well. Casual setting with a friendly staff.. and good deals for the happy hour. Ill definitely be back to check out the other items on the menu.

YALL. Sweetest staff and most delicious pizza! We enjoy the personable service and the flexibility to order by QR code or with a waiter. So many different pizza options and toppings! Not to mention, they make their own ranch in house and the marinara side is served warm 😋 It’s the ultimate comfort zone!!! 🍕

When people recommend restaurants, you never know what you're going to get. Sometimes, they're spot on. Other times, you wonder what the heck were they thinking??? Note: Maybe you wonder about my recommendations sometimes. I am here to definitively tell you, with absolutely certainty, that Grata's has the BEST Philly Cheesesteak in the city. With no disrespect to R&Bs and Hoody's - I really liked their sandwiches - but Grata's, they are the king! My Philly boy and I visited Grata's for lunch today, and we were greeted outside by Phillies, Eagles, and Flyers flags and a sign that said: I ❤️ Philadelphia PA. Inside was more Philly memorabilia in a bar setting. Grata's is definitely a bar that serves food, not a restaurant that has a bar. We ordered three different sandwiches, including the Grata Original [cheeseteak] and the Philly Special [larger cheesesteak]. We also had to try their Italian sub because I was told it would rival the Homeslice Italian Sub that I have been touting as best in the city. And yes, Little Deli and Pizzeria has a good one too, but it's not quite as good. I went with white American cheese on my Grata's Original. It was melted throughout the sandwich, so that each gooey bite was a perfect blend of steak, onions, peppers, and cheese. The cheesesteaks at Grata's are served on Liscio's rolls ordered directly from Philadelphia. Similar to Amoroso rolls, Liscio's provides that perfect crunch when you take each bite. My buddy Mike's double meat, double cheese (Provolone and whiz) sandwhich was a beast. See the pictures for the differences between the two. They went big with a ton of ribeye meat on that bad boy. He said this is the new "go-to" place for his hometown-favorite sandwich. Now for our other choice, we elected to go with Grata's The Big Dom over their Brandywine Gourmet Italian because it added a fourth meat, prosciutto, in addition to the Genoa Salami, prosciuttini ham and capicola, plus Provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, and oil with Italian spices. The Big Dom is served cold, similar to Little Deli's. The difference is that the amount of meat and other fixings on the sub is even more generous. There was a little too much lettuce on it, but once I removed a bit, it was perfect. Normally, Mike and I will add mayo on our Itlalian subs, but we forgot, and despite this omission, the sub was still very moist, and the olive oil and spice blend really shone through. Overall, it was an exceptional visit to Grata's. Service was perfect. If you're a Philly guy or gal, you will love the place. Go during football season and watch the Eagles defend their title. Not a sports fan, but you love those ribeye sandwiches, run as fast as you can there. They are the real deal!

Nice pizza spot with welcoming service and fresh pies. I normally stick to my pepperoni but it was happy hour so I tried the Sweet & Spicy for $10. This is a soft crust pie with a good balance of ingredients. The sweet and spicy came through perfectly. I also tried the Philly Special which has double meat with a side of hot pepper sauce. The hot pepper sauce is amazing. The philly was good, you barely have to chew the meat. It was flavorful. Next time I'll try the Original so I can get the veggies on there. The crust of the pizza and bread on the sandwich were both top tier. I'll return when in the area. The customer service was great. Pro tip its an older building so the front bar area doesn't have any cool arlir flowing. Go to the back corner if coming during the summer months there is cool air back there.

grata’s is a very solid choice for cheesesteaks and pizza in the austin area. the location has fun vibes too, with friendly servers and plenty of tvs. i definitely would go back because who can have enough cheesesteaks?!

Went on a Sunday for lunch. Wife and I split a large Philly Special and garlic pesto knots. We loved the sandwich and the service from the bartender. We thought the garlic knots were a miss. We’ll be back to try some of the cold sandwiches.

This place has that OG Austin feel. Less trendy, less gourmet, less expensive. We ordered the garlic cheesy bread ($9, 4 could easily share). Ahhhmazing. So much cheese. We also split the meatball appetizer ($12, 2 could split) which was SO good. The surprise in this dish was the cloud like texture of the bread that accompanied it. Heavenly. Then there was the sweet and spicy pizza($19, 2 could split). The blend of flavors was impeccable. Our waitress was so helpful and attentive and the restaurant gave a bit of a quiet dive vibe which I love!

The best wood-oven pizza in the entire city of Austin. Meatballs were also top class. I’m glad they finally opened their own restaurant. Before we used to pick their pizza to go at the gas station and always wished they had a space to sit down and enjoy it with a nice glass of wine. Super now!

2.5 stars. This place was a little bit disappointing. The menu gives an impression of a high-quality place that puts a lot of care in getting its pizza right, but the pizza and the other items were ordered were very "blah," not very tasty, using basic ingredients, it seems. When you go inside this place you see that it's basically a cheap sports bar and the food is that quality. I am on the lookout for good pizza in South Austin, and this isn't it.

This is quite possibly the worst pizza I’ve ever had from somewhere claiming to be a “pizzeria”. The dough is so thin, paper thin, all of the toppings just slide right off no matter how you hold it. It’s floppy and like holding wet paper. There’s barely any red sauce and 6 dollops of cheese? Maybe it’s just not my style of pizza but it’s definitely not for me. The cheese bread was surprisingly delightful and their salads are fine. The bartenders are wonderful as well.

I really wanted Gratas pizza to knock me over. All the pictures, people's reviews, and personal recommendations had me believing this was going to be a go to pizza spot....well its not. Its very soggy from just about the crust inward. There is absolutely zero chance you coild pick a slice up without all ingredients falling off. The toppings were nice, the garlic knots were nice, but either the ingredient prep or cooking method or the dough itself needs attention. From pictures it looks great, but its not. The atmosphere is cool even if you're not a Philly fan. Servers are very friendly too and thats why I also don't like giving a 3 star, but gave 5 on service a d 5 on atmosphere. They even allow small dogs! Thats awesome. I'll be back, but for some drinks and garlic knots. Maybe try a cheese steak?

Neat, quirky, Austiny place. Food was good. Price was decent. As soon as we got the bill tho we felt like they were kicking us out. We were just chillin, but it seemed like they were rushing.

Buyer beware, MUCH better restaurants/pizza places to enjoy than this place, like Pinthouse just up the road. Type of pizza place to avoid Portions small, ingredients tasted canned/subpar, service barely existent. We ordered a Caprese salad which was primarily just arugula, very little of anything else added. The Pepperoni pizza pockets were small and not “stuffed” like listed, again minimal ingredients. The “Philly” cheesesteak only had the steak on it, no cheese, onions, mushrooms. The Roma pizza took longer than anything else and was soggy, with all the topping tasting like they were out of a can. After order was dropped, no one ever came back to check on us. Place wasn’t busy, so not sure why the experience was so lackluster. Even my kids were disappointed. Stopped here to try it out, won’t ever be going back.

Looks wise great place to watch sports ...food on the other hand was probably the worst I had in a long time. Drinks .. if I ask if you have Dr. Pepper and you say yes ... then bring me a Dr. Pepper not some off brand or Main Root. Next your cheese steaks it was cold and full grease and when the group I was with all they can say is that the bread is good and thats all says something.

Sign on door “No Cash Accepted”, but here’s the fun part: Surcharge for using a card. Aside from this No Cash nonsense…. Service was stellar, pizza was great. Too bad, I enjoyed myself until the scam revealed itself. I’ll never return.

Just moved to town and was looking for a new philly bar to go to, was looking forward to going to this place based on the reviews for the Eagles game with good food and vibes, also seen that the place was dog friendly. Showed up for the game early due to seeing photos and videos of how packed it was, sat on patio due to bringing my dog, my girlfriend went inside to get a drink and ask if they had dog bowls for water. The bartender told my girlfriend that dogs were welcome inside and they would try to find a bowl. Once inside, we were asked to bring the dog outside due to how busy it would get, understandable and we brought my doggo back to the patio. Then, my girlfriend ordered philly French dip with provolone and brought out with cheese wiz. She decided no biggie and didnt complain but got full and didnt finish so decided would give rest to the pup. The pup was enjoying the meat and cheese and I overhead at the table next to us an employee say to a customer "I know letting the dog eat off the tray is disgusting". The dog was finished so I was going to find a place to put the tray, same employee came up and said I cant serve that and threw the tray away right in front me. After that, it was obvious we weren't welcome due to having the dog with us and we closed our tab and left. Which was disappointing being very early in the Eagles game. I may not be familiar with food safety protocols in Austin, but there was no coming up and being civil and explaining that they cant have dogs eat off metal trays due to compliance even if they clean it. Made us concerned that maybe they dont always clean trays that food is directly served on with no paper or barrier on it after every use. Really disappointed in the experience and wont be back.
