Ben the new cashier up there was Awesome, Honestly thought he was the manager judging by the way he spoke through the drive-through speaker. Made sure all my stuff was ready and correct. Good guy promote him!

I got the lobster rolls. They overcharged me instead of giving me the sale price. I told her I would take the senior discount. She didn’t do that either my lobster roll came with no lettuce. I was very disappointed in service.

What wonderful service! David did a fantastic job taking our order and checking on us while we were there. Very clean resturaunt, and clean facilities and the food was great. Not greasy like Long John Silver's! The sides are pretty bland though.

We don't have Capt D's where I'm from so I dropped by this location while I was in town for work on 26Oct2022(lunch). You can tell that the folks working there really cared about the place. They were extremely busy keeping it clean while still managing to go above & beyond for customers. Food was great too!

I was very impressed by the young man at the window. Every customer knows that the drive-thru is going to take a while, but this young man was polite respectful apologetic for the wait time, and he got my order right. I was sure to tell him how impressed I was with his attitude and his positivity, it just made my experience so much better today

I wish I had caught the guy's name at the window but he always takes really good care of us and especially did tonight. He is awesome to say the least. I haven't even looked at the food we purchased yet but I felt lead to leave this review and I feel lead to come back to Captain D's just because of him. He deserves some type of a promotion and I intend on tipping him next time around, I should have this time.

We ate at Captain D's this weekend, Restaurant and seating areas were very clean, and quiet. Food was on par with past experiences at Captain D's, I ordered the fish and shrimp plate and it was good.

You ever eat somewhere and it instantly brings back memories from a different restaurant?? The other day we went to Captain D's in Burleson. I hadn't been to one in years and so was curious how good it would be. We were a Long John Silvers family growing up so I always have memories of those meals Well Captain D's has done it well and made me feel like I was at LJS but it was BETTER! First off Perla at the counter was tremendous! She definitely knows how to run the restaurant We tried a little bit of everything The fish was fried perfectly The hush puppies were crunchy but moist on the inside The fries were excellent The fries pickles were lightly breaded and sour pickles The butterfly shrimp had the perfect crunch The mozzarella sticks were flavorful and not over chewy Overall the oil seemed very new as everything had a light color to it What I was also very impressed with was how clean the restaurant is for the age Also how great they maintained it after being there for awhile I'll definitely be back now that I know it leap frogs the ol LJS! Gotta go get some crunchies!!!

Great tasting fish...but the pieces are getting a lot smaller. Glad I bought a 3 piece catfish meal.. NOTE: I was very hungry & ate it all before I could take a photo. All I got is 1 of the empty box.

You can still eat at a fair price and the quality is great. They make your meal when you order it. Employees are friendly. Building is old, but has been the same since I can remember.

Surprised by the taste.... Yummy! The fish was crispy on the outside with a nice batter / white flaky fish on the inside. Not soggy or sandy like some places. Tasted so good. All the vegetables were fresh and tasty not like it was served from old cans past there expiration date. The girls behind the counter were very nice and the place is kept clean. Prices are what you expect at a nice seafood Cafe $29 to $40 for two but that may change based on the economy. However its a great place to eat!

Stopped by for fish and chips. Breaded catfish, fries, hush puppies and cole slaw. Everything was fresh and prepared properly. Attendant was very pelite.

Love this Captain D's, & wish Cleburne would bring theirs back. We regularly visit the Burleson location for Great Country Style fish, & Great menu of fresh homestyle sides. Their hushpuppies are the Best anywhere. The only letdown this week was that they joined the Stupid Bandwagon with their interpretation of the "Penny" non production crap. There are billions of pennies in circulation & no "Shortage", just not production. Of new ones. It should be illegal to round up to the next nickel. The couple in front of us as well as us expressed our opinions. The only way around that is using a card vs., paying with cash. We all need to ban together on this issue; otherwise, anytime they want they'll say they have a nickel shortage & round to a dime & continue to the point that they have "NO" CHANGE, round to a Dollar, all the while adding Pure Profit to themselves & bringing about the Cashless society forcing the use of debit / credit cards. The food is the best in the way of Seafood in this area even including the higher priced restaurants such as Red Lobster, and puts Long John Silvers to shame.

It's been a long time since I've been to a Captain D's and this one did not disappoint. Amazing childhood nostalgia, the food is hot, and the ladies are so friendly! Amazing customer service and super speedy Food Service.

Food is pretty good. Wouldn't want to eat it every week because of being fried except for some of the vegetables. The problem I have with the Burleson location is that they seem to always be out of items.

We like Captain D's after church on Sunday. Nothing fancy about it but the food is good and I'm always stuffed when I leave. Plates and forks are made of plastic and a roll of paper towels on each table, so if that offends your dining experience you best try elsewhere. It is a fast food Style restaurant but most the time they bring your food out to you

Fish was OK, hush puppies had No flavor. The chicken was really good which I was surprised, I expected the fish to be much better. The service was good, ppl was friendly.

Wow, such a long time sine we have eaten at a Captain D’s restaurant. It was quite tasty. Our food came out hot. Everything was really good. If and when we are in the area we will be stopping by again.

Not sure if it was the Manager or who it was at the Drive thru yesterday afternoon, but that gentleman is a hoot. It's not everyday you get someone working fast food who is actually friendly & has a good sense of humor to boot. I would have liked my fish a bit crispier, but other than that, my meal was good. Thank you for the laughs & the food.

Good food. Hot and fresh. My only concern is the catfish platter. Just want to give a heads-up that the filets are not like the advertised pic. They are not full catfish filets. They're like a filet that has been cut in half and thin. I was surprised by the price. Should be around 9.99 for all u can eat.. lol. But For the price, they should be full Catfish filets. They were hot and fresh as was all the other food. But the portions are small for the price. I will not order them again due to portion, but taste and flavor was on point.

I am not reviewing this place as a lover of how amazing it is compared to other places. I am reviewing this place, because this is a casual restaurant where the workers are relaxed. It makes for a great first job for high schoolers. I do love the fact they always show you the food before they put it in a bag to give you. That's unique. 👍

The food was pretty good, but points deducted for the basic housekeeping of the facility. Dirty walls and floors don't give much confidence in the cleanliness of the kitchen, and ultimately the food. Wait staff behind the register was less than friendly. Sorry Captain D's, but you've been going downhill for several years now.

The food was okay and the service was pretty good but it doesn't quite compare with rolling up eating at Long John silver 😬. I got the plate with fish on it but sadly wasn't very impressed flavor in the texture of the fish. The hush puppies french fries and coleslaw were pretty good though. 👍

Captain D's has very good shrimp. I almost didn't order them because the other fast seafood place has shrimp that is mostly soggy breading. I don't mind small shrimp, I just don't like it when they make up the difference with soggy breading. Captain D'S has smaller fish portions, however, once again there is less breading so the sizes may be closer in size than it appears.

It's alright, the food is... Not as good as Lisa's chicken, but that's all the way in fort Worth or Crowley. The people seemed tired. But the food didn't seem gross so that's good hehe

Went through the drive thru and the wait was longer than expected. The lady running the window didn't greet , told me amount and closed the window. They need to be educated on the new penny process. While the amount is almost nothing, they should not be shorting their customers. It's either a round up or down in favor of the customer. 🤦🏻‍♀️

The grilled shrimp made me sick and the fish tasted bad and very fishy like it was bad or under cooked. I have been eating at the same location for many years but I have never experienced such terrible food there before. I am almost afraid to eat at that location ever again. I am afraid of getting sick again. It is in Burleson Texas.

It has gone downhill over the years. We went through the drive-thru. Our order was completely messed up. I got my meal, but she deleted my husband's meal, thinking I changed my mind when I ordered grilled fish on his and battered on mine. After waiting over 30 minutes in the reserved spot, we got his meal after I ate mine. It was still missing the shrimp I ordered and paid for. His vegetable was so hot that it melted the styrofoam container. We were so disgusted that we left and never said a word. We won't be back.

8-12-25 Update: I don’t go here much anymore. The wait time has gotten even more insane than it was before. The food isn’t the best either. The last 2-3 times I’ve come I’ve been very disappointed and I don’t think I’m going back for a long time if I even do. Sometimes you get so turned off by a place that you just quit going. I feel that way right now. Old review: The food is always great here. It’s always cooked fresh and my order has never been wrong. That’s a huge deal to me. I’m sure it’s the fact that the person that hands out the food gives it one last inspection to make sure it is correct. When I went the other day I was helped by two different people and they were both extremely polite. The only problem I have is that I’ve seen them making their tea before and they place the tea on the floor to make it. Thats odd to me, things can easily drop into it as people are wiping counters or walking by. Other than that, their food and service is exceptional. I will always recommend this place to others.

Ordered a big family meal wurh chicken and fish, they gave it to another customer. We waited again and our order was all wrong, it had shellfish which my husband it allergic to! And it took about an hour and some to get vack home with dinner. The fish was cold, fries soggy. Won't be back.

Very disappointed Soda machines were out of syrup, told the staff but they did nothing about it. Really didn't like paying almost 7 bucks for carbonated water with a hint of flavor. The food, wasn't cooked enough for the batter to be done completely, the fish and stuffed crab batter was doughy and mushy. The only thing cooked well was the French fries. Very disappointed.

Ordered the 2 piece chicken and fish meal with double fries and I was very disappointed 😔. First, let me say that the young lady who took my order was very nice; it's the food that led to the 2 star review. I love Captain D's food, but this is the first time I've been to a Captain D's where the chicken and fish were not the same color and it had me wondering if you all changed up the recipe on the chicken 🍗. It was extremely dark and looked liked chicken tenders vs the chicken 🍗 I'm used to at Captain D's. My fries 🍟 weren't hot and they tasted similar to the hush puppies; as if they had been fried in the same grease. Don't get me wrong; when I complained about the food, they offered to replace it, but I didn't have the time to wait for the chicken 🍗 . I didn't even eat the chicken or the fries and I didn't want to eat the hush puppies, but did, so just the hush puppies and fish is what I ate out of the food I bought from here. So basically, I spent almost $17.00 on 2 pieces of fish, 2 hush puppies and a drink. The cashier was nice though. Just wish the food had of tasted better.

I just left the Captain D's in Burleson Tx. And this the 2nd time I've experienced bad service. It's usually pretty good. I went through drive- thru as usual, occasionally I go in and eat. It took me almost thirty minutes to get my food. And they looked at me as if I didn't matter and they didn't comprehend why I was upset. Four people were working and my food was just sitting in the window. I worked there forty years ago it was prejudiced against black people then and still is. You never see any black people working there. I quess that's why they had that discrimination class action suit back in the 90's and lost millions and had to close stores. Forty years later and not much improvement.

I got the garlic and fish plate!Very bad the shrimp had a crazy taste and the coating wasn’t done ! If I d stayed and eaten in I d have said I want my money back or give something else! Not what I d got before has always been good food! Will not be returning!

Smell was disgusting having sewer problem. Not bad in dining room but the fish and shrimp was cold. Every thing had a bad taste. Didn't eat much of my food. Thank goodness cause my daughter who was with me ate hers and was sick for days. Shame on them. Never go back.

Was in the drive through trying to order your #9 that comes with 2 pieces of fish & 2 pieces of chicken. Wanted to switch one of the pieces of chicken for a fish, since that’s how I always get it. I guess something changed because I couldn’t get it, apparently the chicken is cooked in 2’s so they didn’t want to give me 3 fishes. Anyway, the 2 ladies at the window talked over me and said they didn’t want to do that even though I was going to pay for it my self, because they didn’t want to get in trouble by their manager… even mention something about the chicken being expensive to get? I’m pretty sure the manager would appreciate the business more than how they cook 1 piece of chicken/swap it out for fish. Long John Silver here I come!!

I remember a time where Captain D’s actually included drinks with a meal choice. I have never heard of having a drink separate when you ordered a meal. Asked to talk to the manger and I quote, “Ya it has always been like that.” While two of his employees shaking their heads behind him in disbelief of hearing this complaint again. Before we walked out of the restaurant with our both one of those gentleman stated that he’s never heard of that either. What’s the point of having meal choices when you don’t give everything. Just go down the street to any restaurant and order a real meal. They’re just trying to nickel and dime you and cheat your money away.

I ordered three piece fish dinner with green beans and coleslaw. The Cole slaw was bad. I called and they were supposed to replace the meal. I got one piece of regular fish and green beans. I called yesterday and the lady said she would put my name in the book. Today I called to reorder. Now they said they won't replace the meal. She replaced it with what they had left. Not acceptable. I do plan to report the manager to the main office.

The food was very mediocre, we had hair in our food. So for 30 bucks worth of food it was not worth it. It has gone down hill big time. I went to the one in Burleson. The fish was so small looks like they took one and cut it on half. My husband's stuffed crab had hair in it and looked almost burnt. The shrimp definitely not worth the price. The best part about my dinner was the hush puppies. I ordered through the app.

I’m extremely disappointed in the amount of food given vs the price. $40-$50 for a family feast and yet all the portions are very small. Back in 2017 a family feast was very large for less money. Not it’s expensive for just a taste.

Very dissatisfied to say the least. Bought 2 4 pc meals with okra and extra hush puppys and 2 large drinks on 2/11 around 7pm and was rushed through the drive through and upon trying to eat my food I had cold hush puppys cold okra and very greasy fish that had seemed to be sitting out a while and not fresh. I went on 2/12 with my receipt around 30m to speak with someone about my issue and the staff did not know what to do, apparently the manager had just left so they called him and told me that I would need the food. I asked if they would like for me to dignit out of the trash can and guess they thought I was lying. I went home dug what I could out of my trash can and gave it to them, receipt bag and nasty food, all they could do was refund me 10$ I paid 32.40 for this horrible meal that my family could not eat. Why would I pay 32 dollars for food I had to throw away? All I was wanting was fresh food and they treat me as if I'm a liar, the person behind me had a problem with his food as well I'm sure he didn't get a fresh meal either. I work hard everyday for my money and they want to treat me like this, my mistake won't be back, 4 yrs and never a problem and now that I have a problem they do this. Very shameful no integrity no responsibility for their actions and rhe audacity to give me old food that I paid 32 dollars for. I'm beyond words and very dissatisfied and disappointed I highly recommend you don't go here they do not have good customer relations and do not care to hold themselves accountable. This was my first time at this location. 40 minutes in line, 3 cars in front of me. The staff were bickering, 1 employee was disgruntled because of the others. 1 employee was taking orders and doing nothing else to help. When I did get my order they had to go back twice for my drink and a fork. When I got home, no butter or sour cream for my potatoe. Not a great 1st experience.

Needs a ZERO!!! Worst experience ever, anywhere. Placed my order, manager had to approve my free birthday meal from Corporate that expires today. He said I’d have to wait, that he had a lot of orders behind. I gave up after 30 minutes as they continued to take orders in the drive thru and also asked me to step aside to take orders from two other people that came in about 15 minutes after me. The manager made all the current orders and the two after me and was still getting orders ready when I gave up and left. The two guests in front of me said they waited waited 20 and 30 minutes for their food after they ordered. NOTE: It shouldn’t take more than a minute to fix my order and get back to filling them. Never got very good food or service here anyway. But, I’ve put up with it as it’s the only seafood place near my house. Not coming back here again!

They had two ppl working...that's it...just two.... running the whole place....fine....things happen...but my food was disgusting!!! Every portion of it ...I don't have pictures because I've had food poisoning and just got over it ....I got the "spicy chicken sandwich,the dozen meal, jalapeno poppers,garlic fries, string beans and mac....the oil they were cooked in had to be old.... horrible!! We went here nearly every Sunday for past 2 years because we had great service and they had an excellent manager and everyone loved him and he had excellent people working here. Last Sunday the new manager went around saying he got fired and all the ones who was coming for a long time are really upset because he was most caring person. We went last Sunday and terrible service and today we had to wait 1 hour for food. We are all very upset because we use to enjoy going there

I use to like this captain D’S but on 10/30/2024 when I stopped to get a $5.99 fish special #1 it took forever for me to receive my order #2 the nasty cashier gave me a real catfish dinner #3 the fish was hard and had a stale old taste to it which made me have a really bad stomach ache. I don’t know what she did but people be careful when going through the drive through!

They took our order, we paid, then we waited over 30 minutes in a mostly empty place Adding- It turned out they lost my ticket. After 15 minutes of no food I would ask them a few times where food was and they kept brushing me off saying it would be out soon. Finally at 30 minutes they realized they didn’t even have my ticket. No apology from them, just fumbling and rude attitude. Also, I left all this information at their contact us link the day this happened before they responded saying to do so and I have yet to hear back from them over a week later.

The macaroni and cheese was more like soup 🤢I tried to eat it anyways but it had a perfumey taste to it. Never again

I bought 2 piece fish online order and the fish was chewy and hard the fries were chewy and soggy the only good thing was the hush puppies I threw the rest away after a couple of bites this is the reason why I haven't been back here because of this reason they sell old food that's just a waste of money so caution when you spend your hard earned money here they are stealing your money by selling you old food ***BUYER BEWARE***

Sorry but this was a mess lol 😂😭 $22.00 for 2 meals is the only good thing. They were out of the sodas and we had to get water instead (couldn’t do a refund) so we got a extra order of unseasoned fries 😂😩 When ordering we were told that the sandwich came with Cajun seasoning and lettuce. No seasoning at all and like a pinch 🤏 of lettuce. I brought back up and asked to be remade. All they did was throw some dry seasoning on top of fish lol. it just seemed a mess and overall the food was no bueno 👎 Nothing has seasoning. Besides it being deep freakin fried lol 😂 No lie had to add ketchup , salt and pepper to the Mac n cheese to have some flavor.

In May I placed an online pickup order at this location. When I arrived I pulled into the drive thru and was advised that my food was not ready. I was asked to pull into one of the “reserved” spots and they would bring my food out shortly. After almost 20 minutes I went into the establishment and inquired as to the status on my order. The woman behind the counter had no idea as to what or where my order was so it was made as I was waiting. Thinking it was a one-off I again gave them a try today. Same issue. Other customers were also inside complaining that they had been sent to the “reserved” spots. In fact, neither time this occurred did I witness any employee bringing food out to the “reserved” spots. They need to figure out a better system so they are not just sending customers to these spots and then “forgetting” about them.

We didn't get what we ordered because they were out of food,they also close the lobby 20 mins early,the manager speaks Spanish and is very hard to understand what they are saying. The lobby didn't have a sign stating that they close the lobby early. Employee had to use her phone to be able to understand what I was saying. They aren't giving us something when we order that they were out of what we were ordering.

Went through drive through today and it was not a pleasant experience. Aside from the poor attitude from the female employee, along with the our food order which was the family pack, we ordered a large water, had no problem paying for it but I was charged for a large sweet tea! Almost $4 for water?! Water?! After I spent $45! I could see maybe charging $1 or $2 but $4?

All I ordered was a 3 pc fish and there was one other car in front of me. The wait was about 25 minutes. After it all I requested 2 extra tartar sauce. And you would think it would be complimentary due to the ridiculous wait time. I paid 1.50 and was told they did not have a penny to give my change?!! Cool. I get all the way home in Joshua and realize I only have 2 tarters in the bag !!! So I did not receive the extra I paid for on top of being robbed a penny. SMH most est give you a disclaimer they do not have pennies to give and you can choose a method to pay so you’re not cheated .

Went through the drive thru for my very first time. I ordered all sides. Was blow away once I got to the window and was told my total was $56. I cannot believe this company even has the audacity to charge this much for non flavored food. Not one grain of salt or pepper was on any of the food I ordered. The corn on the cob was very hard as well. I ordered corn on the cob, Mac and cheese, green beans and Hush puppies, you can clearly see the food doesn’t have a speck of seasoning!

Went in to eat in the lobby on 10/09/25 at 8:40pm to eat inside and my family and I were told the lobby was closed that we could go through the drive thru. I’ve eaten at different Captains D’s location around the same time and their lobby didn’t close until the store closed. No where on their hours of operations on there door does it say different hours for lobby and drive-thru. The employees were extremely RUDE.

They are out of tartar sauce. They claim to give out a 1.5 ounce but it's only half and I wasn't aloud to buy an extra sauce. Fries not salted. Food was fresh but not worth the trip if I can't enjoy my meal.

My wife and I ordered the chicken and 2 sides of fish. We asked the girl who took our order that the fish was with the meals and she said yes. We get home and no fish. To drive back to get the fish, our food would be cold. Spoke with the manager and she said come get the fish. We stated we do not want the fish now and asked for a refund for the trouble. She said no refund come get the fish, we said no and she said refund for the fish then. Horrible place! Horrible manager who obviously does not know how to manage and no clue what customer service means. Corporate need to fire her and hire a competent manager. Do not go to this Burleson TX location. You will be treated like crap.
