I don't know why but this McDonald's hits differently. Food is on point. MC nuggets are fresh, fries are perfect, big Mac's taste like real juicy burgers. All McDonald's should be like this. And even better, great management and customer Svc. Will be going back soon.

Placed our order through the app right as we were pulling up. Walked in and was greeted right away. Our order took no time at all. Everything was hot, fresh and made exactly as ordered! Awesome job!!

First time in this specific restaurant and let me tell you about my great experience during my lunch break visit. I was greeted by a very friendly and helpful crew which made sure my order was correct and made fresh. While I waited for my order I was approached by a crew member regarding a small mistake made on my order which they quickly and swiftly took care of since I hadn't noticed it. I must admit that I am pretty sure that in a lot of other places I would have had walked out with a wrong order. Thanks again to that friendly crew for making my visit a great one, believe me sometimes them small details go a long way. I will definitely be back.

You know how most chains are dotted around, but there's always that one that stands out and is your plan A if time allows? This is THAT McDonald's. Their food is too good for fast food. It still comes fast, but their burgers are always juicy and full of flavor. It's not that they're unexpectedly good (they were), it's that the food is the best I've ever had at any fast food chain. Please browse my other reviews. I'm not an AI, and I'm not in any way affiliated with this franchisee or the Mcdonald's corporation. Their food is always just better.

Edit: since writing the below comment, this McDonald's has gotten significantly better. I no longer have any of the problems I had then. Excellent work to whoever made these improvements. Service is far faster and much more error free. Staff are always friendly and the food is always as expected. 10 out of 10. I generally only use the drive-through, so I can't really speak on anything inside the restaurant. But, the drive-through is excellent. -------------- I've been to this McDonald's well over a dozen times. And, nearly every time I've had issues with them. Usually, the issue is an incredibly long wait time. They nearly always forget simple things like straws. I once placed an order through the drive through. It took a good 10 minutes to get the food and they said to wait for fresh coffee. Well, that came another 10 minutes later. And, they forget the sodas. That was an additional 5 or 10 minutes. All in all, I spent over 30 minutes there just sitting in my truck and waiting. When I've gone inside, I've practically had to yell for someone to assist me at the cash register. I once got my order inside and had to wait 10 minutes to even get the drink cups. Of course, 1 was cracked. That was another wait to get a new cup. After I filled my own drinks, I was then waiting for a plain sundae. More waiting. I finally had to ask the drive through lady, and she got it. But, there was no spoon. At that point, I just wanted to leave. So, I gave up on that. That entire time, there were only 2 orders on the screen saying "in progress." My order was one of them and another man's order was there. He was also standing there, but never said anything. I wish I had spoke up for him. He was waiting the entire time I was and longer. All in all, this is the worst McDonald's I've ever been to. I don't care to get anyone in trouble. I just expect better service. Mostly it's the long wait time to get anything. Though, at least once, I had hamburgers that were still fairly raw. I don't know if it's bad management or just that they have a lot of new, poorly trained staff, but something needs to be done to improve this place.

The Castroville McDonald's has gotten much better. More high tech, electronic ordering, mobile ordering, dual drive thru stations. Also a very clean facility. Very good experience. Not really fast, but they are busy.

I come here a lot, sometimes they get my order wrong, but for a frequent visitor that is to be expected. I wish they would make better parfaits, it looks like everything is just slopped into the container. Other than that the food is fresh and fast!

Fast service! We had to park in their #2 Reserved drive-thru parking space in order to fit our truck & RV. They didn't mind! They were very friendly and gracious about it. We got our food to go and then went on our way. Thanks McDonald's in Castroville!

Sometimes they are a little slow in the morning. Always put too much cream in my Iced Coffee. Never have any napkins in any order. Overall If you like the food from here it's good. I do not eat there I only get Iced Coffee. My son likes the chicken nuggets.

The service was fast, cashier was friendly. My only issue was I ordered items that were actually a special meal, but I ordered individually. The cashier didn't mention the special and I ended up paying more. Seems they can just ask, do you want the special for 6.

This location tends to be out of things, from the menu to even simple sweet tea (my only real complaint). Otherwise, quality is consistent with other McD's locations, and the staff are friendly and helpful.

The associate that took my order was great and very patient while I figured out my payment. However, the guy in the back started arguing with him and the manager snapped at him saying he was in charge so the associate needed to back down.

The morning crew here is pretty solid. More often than not, the McMuffins are crispy, the coffee’s hot and I’m always in and out of there really quick.

The new arrangement of ordering at the kiosk seems to have given the employees the impression that they don't need to interact with the customers. They don't even make eye contact or find out why we're standing there looking lost.

Friendly service, but they are typically pretty slow to serve you once you order. Sometimes it is because they are super busy other times I have no clue why I have to wait 10 minutes with no cars ahead of me. I have easy orders like a drink and large fry.

The staff here is well trained and experienced. They always get orders done quick, although occasionally mess up a little detail or two. Last time I went I got a newish person in the drive though who forgot my BBQ sauce. That is unfortunate when you get chicken nuggets, but oh well.

UPDATE I contacted McD Corp & received call from District Mbr explained my exp in Castroville vs Hondo she was very polite & professional. Asked me to give Castroville another chance after she addressed it. We went today assistant manager assisted cashier with my order something changes I was served quickly & my order less than 5 minutes! It was a good exp.. Worst experience in service. I went to the counter to place my order. I was the only person in dining area waiting on an order. I had already waited 22 minute then nnoticed they were servicing the drive thru even cars which I observed went thru drive thru while I was waiting were served. When I asked why my order was still in a queue yet others who drove in while I was waiting near the counter had been served cashier & manager (Louis or Lou) said well we are short what can I say! Yet 3 people were working drive thru 2 cooks & 2 managers yet they could not service one dine in customer! I went to Hondo Tx 15 minutes away excellent service I ordered from the counter & didn't have to compete against drive thru & they were more busy my order was 5 minutes!!!! Hondo could win marathons against Castroville! Maria store manager for Hondo takes care of her customers! Luis in Castroville & his cashier need to go to training! I would have had to wait at least 35 minutes! For same order in Hondo 5 minutes & it was obvious Castroville manager use to complaints & do not care , but someone needs to remind them the dine in area open for service they got lazy with the drive thru only think it takes 5 people to run a drive thru! Don't waste your time going to Castroville even CEO would be ashamed with their poor service!

Had to ask for everything. There were no condiments, straws, napkins after we got our food. The machine asked us to wait for our food to be brought, but we were called to pick it up. I don't mind, but change the verbiage if that's not done.

Got my order wrong but it’s still a clean location. *update to 8 months previous review * The reason I lock my card is because of things like this. The kid at the window swiped my card despite me telling him to wait just a sec cuz I had to unlock my card. Instead he had to run all over the store with my card in his hand. He was out of my view for about 3 minutes, too long for my comfort because that’s how my card info was stolen before. Hopefully he’s an honest young man and didn’t take my card info down while he was out of sight supposedly getting his managers code. I lock my card for a reason and this is one of them, you just never know and unless getting jacked is your life goal, stay diligent my friends!

This location has one of the longest drive thru waits I've experienced, for a McDonalds. If you see 2 or more cars, go inside to order or proceed to another location because you'll be there for a while. I've also noticed that the inside of this location smells bad next to the soda machine. I will no longer visit this establishment.

Order 5 burgers, nothing difficult. Drove home 20 minutes to find out I was missing 1. Then had to drive 20 minutes back for 1 burger. My first time at that location and I'm pretty sure it'll be my last, left a bad taste in my mouth

Staff is always nice, however they NEVER put the condiments THEY ask that you want. Just not sure whats so hard about it. Its expensive now as any other place and bad service.

One of the worst and inconsistent McDonald's I've ever been to. Food is usually warm or cold, not fresh. Items are usually missing. Make sure to check your order before you leave! I've come several times and they don't have everything that's listed on the menu, including ice cream, coffee and hot chocolate.

Met some friends who were passing through. Stood at the counter for 5 minutes completely unnoticed where I could see six employees standing around talking. Manager walked right past me and I asked if anyone was working the counter. She said,"yes" and just kept walking. Finally ordered an ice cream cone for $2.70....it was about the size you would give a toddler. There were flies all over the tables inside. Maybe my expectations are too high?

Twice in a row we have gone there and not gotten the beverage we ordered. Both times they gave a sugar beverage. Once it was supposed to be a Diet Coke and this time a unsweetened tea. The kids at the window need to to better. The boy who gave us our food was great and very nice. But the other one need some work. I told them I was missing a big Mac the kid with glasses came to the window and told me it was in the bag. I told them I got one but not the other. He went back to talk to 2 people and then came back and told me again it was in the bag. Again I said no I only have 1 and we ordered 2. Then tells me to give him both bags. So I did, and then he asked me in a way that sounded accusingly if I was missing the other burgers as well. Again, said no just the Big Mac. After having to repeat myself 4 to 5 times they finally brought me out the food I was missing. But the fact that I had to continuously repeat myself to the same kid and then him acting like I'm trying to get extra food for free was a little ridiculous.

Make sure you ASK for napkins. Most Mc Donalds policy is one napkin per item, this store will give you ZERO. If you order something that requires utensils, you better ask for that, too...especially when travelling! I have stopped there on many occasions and the only consistency is not giving you these items. Also, takes quite a while to get your "fast food," they never seem to be properly staffed.

Sunday May 29th. 2022 2:45PM . They had no coffee and no ice cream. The young man , sounded like he didn’t care. We were expecting to get the customer service that McDonalds is known for but total opposite. Hope your the owner reads and understand what his or her employees and management are providing.

Dinning room still isn't open and my order is almost always wrong or missing something. Shocker, went today because it was close and they forgot 2 drinks and an order of fries. I won't be going back.

Worst McDonald's to eat at. Order at drive thru, had me pull forward and they forgot about my order. They served 5 other cars before i put my mask on and went inside to see what was going on with my order. They were all just standing around laughing and horsing around. Just went by there. Got to window at 8:02pm. Two vehicles already in front of me that just ordered. Told WE ARE CLOSED! I said, it's only 8:02 and response was...... WE ARE CLOSED, WE HAVE A SIGN POSTED! They don't offer dine,-in and now closing at 8pm. The other restaurants in Castroville are still open. This includes... Whataburger, Sonic, Dairy Queen, Bill Millers, Pizza Hut, etc... Their customer service is horrible and maybe they should close period. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!

I get mcdonalds 3 times a month. It seems they mess the orders up at least once a month. One thing I truly do not like is that they close way before they are suppose to. I don't know how they get away with it. I once saw an employee buy drugs right outside. The manager should be fired. The food is great when they get the order right.

Wow... they were out of fries! 🍟 The lady who took the order kept saying I ordered a sweet & sour for a drink, tried to correct her and said sweet tea, but it took her several times to catch on. Then, we drive up to pick up the food and the lady at the window with the black tear drop tattoo under her eye (Monique Q) announced that she's going on break and didn't give a bleep what anybody said. She then told me they were out of fries and said to pull over into a parking spot. "Pickles" brought out our food a few minutes later but never said a word. We don't usually expect much from McD's, but this visit was a new low.

Honestly if Castroville had a Burger King I think McDonalds would go out of business, the place is absolutely horrible, I go there about 1-2 times a month and not once have they ever gotten an order right. Not an exaggeration. Not. Once. I've lost track I'd how many times I've complained and nothing changes. I do not suggest using them unless you go in and check your order right there when they hand it to you. TLDR: Do not recommend At All.

**Update: why do I come to this store? Their service has not improved since my last review, they got our order wrong, forgot the fries and once again took extra long. Avoid this location at all costs** I generally have a great experience with this store but this time it wasn't the same. The staff seemed untrained, the young lady working drive-thru seemed annoyed and our order took an extra long time to come out. The usuals weren't there which showed in the quality of service and attention given. Hopefully management is aware and will work on making changes.

Horrible service, waited 35 minutes for our order. Unorganized and no direction in the kitchen. Manager seemed incapable of redirecting things to turn it around. There was a line out to the curb, and a long line inside. They couldn't get orders right, and were filling orders that had been canceled. Horrible management...fix it!

Stopped here to grab a quick bite. Found hair and red fuzz on the hash brown. The orange juice cup was covered in orange juice. The drive thru worker hands were completely dirty and looked like he was in his street clothes and had his underwear out. That alone cannot mean this establishment has a high health code.

Slow service! They never have apple pies ready to go; been told other times they are just out. When I’ve ordered apple pies, there’s a 10 minute wait. Ridiculous! Also, they never get my order right. We went for a large coke and two apple pies only to be told they had none - waited 20 minutes just to get a Coca Cola! They seem incompetent. The employees are young and don’t seem to care about customer service. Management is at fault for not straightening out their employees. Last night was my last visit there - will probably make the drive to the next closest location off Potranco/1604.

So I stupedly went to this location again, The employees were focused on drive thru but not lobby.....waited 8 min to put order in and 9min to get food. Yes it was chicken and it takes 6 min to cook I was speaking to the manager when LIAM gets in our conversation VERY RUDELY starts to say that they were waiting on chicken WITH ATTITUDE I kept telling him that I was talking to the manager not him and to not speak to me in that manner so he got offended and got even ruder.....I honestly thought when management changed it would be better but it only got worse. These employees are getting paid TOO MUCH for their working incompetence. I will make sure I spread the news!!! I had to drive back because my order was not correct, manager Judie was extreamly rude questioning why i wanted my order fresh, rolled her eyes, waved her hand and loudly said just give it to her.....the RUDEST manager EVER. She is the main reason i hate coming to this location!!!!!!!

The Mc-Chicken sandwich meat looked & tasted like it had been sitting aside for along time, it was dry & dehydrated looking.. all wrinkled, wasn't fresh. The bun was also very dehydrated flat & wrinkled, looked old, It had a few big white blotchy spots, we didn't get napkins...we're not offered ketchup for the fries, which were the only thing that was good. My Son ordered a large Mcbeef pattie sandwich, which looked like a small size...was $13 for his sandwich & fries. We were very hungry, as I had been in S.A. for stress test that required fasting, & then we also had to be transferred to another location from where I was scheduled for my tests, driving in heavy construction traffic, which altogether took longer then it should have just to be tested . So I was very surprised that the Castroville location McDonald's provided such poor service.

I was there on 4/22 at 11 am. I was pleased to see the breakfast menu. I ordered two sausage biscuits, sweet tea, and one egg mcmuffin. My kids were running late to their soccer game and were upset when they saw no sausage. Both sausage biscuits had just the biscuit. Thankfully, they were able to put jelly and fill their stomach. Get to the game to find my tea was unsweet.

I dont know why I keep giving this place a chance. Once again they are incapable of getting an order correct. Missing a sandwich and both drinks for the kids meals. Even ordered from inside this time, specifically said it was to go and next thing you know the person who took my order brought a tray out with the food they didn't take any order after mine. So done with this location.

Lazy lazy is all I can say about this one want open tables cause to lazy to clean them. Also order a special order and they act like you never said anything even when the receipt shows your order exactly how you wanted and order. 05/03/2022 night crew (the ones that put together the burgers) absolutely need to be fired. This is the second time I've been here in 2 in a month and was give each time Big Mac meat for both Quarter Pounders (which is less meat) and the meat was old. They also didn't make both iced coffees right. I don't think I'll be going to this location again. Paying over $35 for that is ridiculous.

Mcdonalds food isn't the same as it used to be, and it's very expensive and not so worth it. Place was very dirty, food all on the floor under the tables and on top. No workers were cleaning dining areas. The Self order kiosk menu wasn't updated missing items as advertised. Had to wait for an employee to stop serving in the kitchen to take our order at the counter.

Today i witness employees throwing food into the dinning room. The manager Lee G did not care at all. This McDonald's doesn't care about servesafe. Please consider your options before eating after people who don't care.

I was in the drive thru and ordering my food. The girl taking more order was laughing while I was trying to tell my order. Towards the end of ordering I asked for a free cup of water. The girl taking my order lied and said that mcdonalds does not give free cups of water....😑she Said they charge for water. I've gone to different mcdonalds before and never had an issue or been charge for a cup of water. I even clarified with the girl that I don't want a bottle just a small cup of water. She persisted in saying they charge for water and she was still laughing while she was talking to me. I called multiple mcdonalds and spoke to managers and low and behold, you can get a cup of water for free. I get my order and the fries are old 😑 I think the thing that bothered me most about this visit was being lied too. If your ever passing through, keep going, this one is not worth your time or money.

I pulled in at 5:38 on a Wednesday evening and by the time I finally received my order it was 6:08pm. 30 min for not so “Fast Food”. On Wednesday, the 21st, I visited the drive-thru to purchase two iced coffees. I only stopped because the line was short, and I anticipated fast service. However, the experience was far from fast. I paid for my order at 12:15 PM and waited in line for approximately 10 minutes before the employee at the second window informed me that they were out of iced coffee… Although different coffees were offered, by the time I left, it was already almost 12:30 PM. Despite there being managers, a supervisor, and a general manager assisting at the front, the line remained stagnant during my wait. I can only imagine the wait time had I ordered food. Folks should really just take their business to the new Acosta McDonald’s up the road on Montgomery to avoid this mess..

I ordered curbside, assuming it’s be done sooner. I placed the order at 12 got there around 12:30 it wasn’t ready, I waited for 20 minutes just to get my food. then they forgot my drinks, fries, pies, and sauces for my food. that is insane! Ordered my food for here with the manager and it's been over 20 minutes. I still haven't gotten my food when I've been the only oder on their screen the whole time. Absolutely ridiculous for a FAST food place. When I complained got my food in bags instead of a tray and they messed it up. This was the most simple order ever, everything plain and the kids just the meat. This should not have taken 30mins a fancy restaurant doesn't even take that long.

This happened last week but just now getting around to posting my review. I don't understand how this happens..believe it or not this is the second time this happens to us at a McDonalds. The first time was in Lytle. We are not eaters of red meat not even a little so after realizing what I was biting into I was grossed out & made me sick to my stomach. I did not call the place with my complaint not the first time or this last time because honestly I think if they're able to make a mistake this bad then they must be capable of spitting in someone's burger. I shouldn't have to worry about my family being handed food that may harm them. Trust lost customer lost.

Very rude customer service. The manager looker mad . I had to wait 10 min for a happy meal. Only 4 pc chicken nuggets. The manager was mad because I asked her twice what was happening.
