This was my first visit to this location. And I was pleasantly surprised. When we walked in, we were greeted. Immediately. We were seated and a booth was very comfortable. The waiter came up immediately and asked if we went to order any drinks. The main view was easy to navigate through with plenty of pictures. We order the garlic etumami, and that was off the hook. I would strongly suggest trying it.They had the garlic and they had the standard salt. The roles that we ordered, I would give it a seven out of ten. Set my vet where is lacking in flavor. Would I go there again absolutely. It is one of the better sushi locations in this area. Cheers.

Absolutely DELICIOUS 😋 so super fresh, authentic and truly amazing. Their special rolls are divine. The salmon nigiri, huge pieces!! New favorite sushi spot 💯

Right as I walked in, the person was already there! I said, table for two because I went with a friend, they sat us down and they took our drink order and after that they took our food order, and them we ate and it was amazing! Overall, this a great place for sushi, definitely recommend going.

Big surprise for me in el cajon! The best by far. Most of the time the sushi and sashimi combo is to guage the freshness and the taste. And it was perfect. Clean nice place. Very good service. Today was my first. Am coming back soon.

Solid sushi spot they give you a ton of fish in the rolls and they are huge. The udon and tempura was also very good. The soup was flavorful and the tempura was nice and crisp not too oily.

Presentation, flavor, and service is all on point! This sushi spot never disappoints. I'm already looking forward to my next visit and trying other rolls from their menu. Prices are reasonable and quality is high, you won't regret coming here.

Best and freshest sushi rolls in El Cajon. Great presentation and portion size. Staff are very attentive and nice

Nice sushi place great service lots of selection and they have a good drink selection. Plenty of parking. They have outdoor patio covered seating. The signature rolls are tasty as seen in my photos. The ramen used some frozen vegetables and had a bland broth as a result, would avoid it unless they improve it.

I am so picky about my sushi. To be honest, I don't know the difference between Taco Shoppe or Tacos El Gordo, but sushi... that's a different story. I used to frequent Okawa in Santee but they recently went through a change in ownership and the food is terrible there. So I decided to go back to Hana Sushi since I hadn't been there in about five years. During that time, they've changed a lot of things. The restaurant bought the space next door and expanded, making the dining area twice what it was in the past. The sushi bar area is twice what it was, making the area more open to more chefs cooking simultaneously, and the food comes out even faster. As you walk in, you'll see the old aquarium at the entrance with that one giant fish floating back and forth lazily. Don't tap the glass; it scares the fish and the staff will give you dirty looks. :) You're greeted by a bunch of friendly faces and they'll vaguely wave you towards a table. Don't be offended; they're not rude - the ladies there are just a little on the shy side. TIPS: - When you pull into the shopping center, be careful as some coming out of stores tend to not look before they step out between cars - As I mentioned earlier, be patient. If they're not coming to your table enough, just politely raise a hand and they'll be right there - Don't place all of your orders at the same time. If you're getting appetizer, order that first. Then when you're halfway through, order entrée, etc. The servers are good, but the food runners just bring out whatever pops up so sometimes, you can get them all at the same time - Absolutely, definitely try the tempura udon. It is so warm, savory, and filling - Jalapeno bomb. Yes. Every time we've gone, we've never had a complaint. The fish are always, always fresh, they always bring us a little extra (maybe to get us to try something new), and the service has always been friendly and prompt. This is now my favorite sushi restaurant.

A surprisingly decadent hole-in-the-wall sushi restaurant in an unassuming neighborhood of El Cajon. Always gracious and respectful service, beautiful food presentations, and incredibly reasonable drink specials. You will fall in love!

I love coming here to eat sushi — I’ve been to several places, and this one is truly my favorite. The waiters are super attentive, and the seafood is fresh! I love eating here 😍

First time here and the sushi and friendly staff will make us come back. My boys 5 and 7 years old loved the miso soup and the sushi. They ordered a crunchy roll and a california. Me and my husband ordered 3 types of sushi and all were amazing. They even put extra crunchy stuff even when we didnt ask. More so, the staff was really nice. Good job to this place.

Incredibly fresh and clean cuts of sashimi. Love that this was a family run business, the owner came to check on our meal, and their two sons took our order and bused the table. The food was beautifully presented and was exceptionally fresh. Definitely above and beyond expectations. Worth the drive, even worth the traffic!

Food was amazinggg... I'm literally still thinking of it days later, wanting to go back again already. The presentation was stunning, portions are large, and the prices are decent. Service was just okay, not horrible but not great, either. I will return, for sure!

Very fresh Sushi rolled in cucumber with avocado. And eel nigiri with delicious sauce. Seafood salad was great but so big we had to bring it home to finish.

Nothing overly special about the place. We had a party of 10 and spent about $500 getting the LARGE boat which served about 15 different rolls. Others ordered individual meals and was just average. A large menu so there are plenty of choices to choose from. Can be expensive. Just a suggestion, if ordering one of their boats, might ask to have the rolls labeled as none of us knew which roll was which.

The food and the variety of rolls are very good. I tried the toro and it was so fresh and melts in the mouth. The restaurant is located in a busy plaza, so recommended for dinner more than lunch to find a spot for your car. Their service is fast and they have that nice ship which gives an amazing presentation to them

I finally found a place in east county that has uni. The food here was really good and fresh. The uni was good but not great. I would definitely come back again and dine in.

I really like this place, elaboration the sashimi salad. Great for a quick light lunch. The rolls are all tasty but I feel they are too big. You almost have to cut them in half before taking a bite but maybe that's a good thing.

This place is located in a cute shopping center in Granite Hills in El Cajon, CA. Seating is restaurant style seating with the expected chef sushi bar. Sushi was all reasonably priced. We ordered typical rolls that included salmon, tuna, and a fried calamari roll. The presentation of the rolls was beautiful. However, the fish on both “fish” rolls was nasty luke-warm temperature and very mushy, falling apart with the slightest touch. Keep in mind we did not order cooked rolls, except for the calamari roll. The waitress noticed we were not eating two of the rolls and asked if we would like something else, we respectfully declined 🤢. Service was good, but at that point were so disgusted with the “warm” sushi we could not even think of taking another bite. I’ve been to many sushi places, and the fish NEVER tasted mushy or warm, unless specifically ordering a cooked or a more delicate roll. In this case we did not order either. I give it 3 stars for the service, cleanliness, and the cute area of where it was located, but I probably would not go back.

Very disappointing experience with Hana Sushi food. Got delivery, well packed but thats the only good thing about it. The roll quality was extremely poor — the Caterpillar Roll was stuffed with an overwhelming amount of cucumber, barely any rice, and it was literally falling apart. The only thing that was even somewhat decent was the baked roll, but everything else missed the mark. Please do better

Food was not good. Too mush lettuce and Avacado in every roll. Avacado was old and the tuna sucked. Not sure why they would put Avacado, lettuce in a spicy tuna roll. Totally disappointed. The sushi rolls were way too big to fit in chop sticks. We ordered it on uber and not one person ate more than 2 of their rolls. Very disappointed.
