The bread at the beginning was freshly baked sourdough - really good! We ordered the sautéed mushrooms, eggplant lasagna and the Fettuccini Alfredo. Food was very good, the service was excellent and fair prices. We will definitely come back!
Absolutely delicious! The ravioli was perfectly cooked and covered in a rich, creamy sauce with fresh spinach and a generous sprinkle of parmesan. Every bite was full of flavor. The service was also very attentive and friendly, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely a place we’ll come back to! 🍝✨
Five Stars!! This restaurant is exceptional. I especially love the beet salad. I’ve never had one that compares well. Lasagna is good too. The atmosphere is great. The staff treat you. Great I highly recommend it. I came here yesterday and we’re back today. Can’t get enough of that beet salad and eager to try dessert
There was nothing to dislike about this restaurant. The menu is loaded up with Italian favorites. We came from Arizona to Palm Springs for my wife's birthday celebration. Both the food and service went beyond our expectations. Very nice atmosphere. Thank you for making my wife's birthday special.
Amazing Breakfast Brunch! Affordable! Ambience is great! Yummy food.
We have just returned from our first meal at Backstreet Bistro. Fantastic. We booked ahead via Open Table and a good job we did as all inside tables were taken whilst we were there. Very helpful and personable waitress who brought lovely bread & butter / oil & balsamic to our table with a small bowl of freshly cut Permesan. Excellent menu. Plenty of choices for all tastes. We had the Bruscheta and Calamari to start, followed by Chicken Piccata and Seafood Linguine with white butter sauce. All the food exceeded our expectations and we will certainly return when we next visit Palm Desert from the U.K.
We sat outside and had great food and service. My husband and I split the beet salad and the sand dabs and both were delicious. I’d eat the same thing again. They brought fresh, warm bread with the salad and it was very good. Highly recommend.
Delicious food with a relaxed environment. Great service! Highly recommend!
I only had the salad wege but the bread ws amazing..
Was in the area and craving something small but hardy with a cold beer in this beautiful warm day. Came here and they had the right items! Super friendly and attentative, great service and delicious food!

First time here, will definitely come back. Everything we ordered were delicious! Very friendly staff too.
The crab cake appetizer was the best crab cake I've ever had - and I live a stone's throw from Maryland! The spaghetti and meatball portion was huge and yummy. We also got the seafood pasta. The sauce was amazing and the seafood tasted fresh and delicious. Angela's service along with that of the rest of the staff was top notch. Highly recommend this restaurant!
Had a great dinner. Service was very attentive and food was amazing!
Exceptionally tasty food. Great service! Will be back. Thank you!!
Always great food & service. All the pasta dishes are very good, and the meal is excellent. If only they did cacio de pepe! A great experience!

Take out review. Wish I ate in. Small family feel. The food was delicious even after bringing home. Pricey for takeout, but that's my error. Nice Linen napkins and table cloths had a legit cheese wheel they sample from.
The Bistro had an outside party so seating inside was the only option .A little stuffy and tight. Our perimeter table was isolated on two sides. The Bistro was packed @600 PM ir made a difference. You must try the crab cakes! They are amazing not too much filler;great sauce to complement. Wife loves the Bruschetta. She could have eaten another sand dab one was small . Service was good but Friday night packed with a private party they held up pretty well .
Backstreet Bistro offers inside and outside patio seating. We had a delicious lunch that was fairly priced for the area. My club sandwich was large - I took half of it home for dinner. The service was excellent. Helpful Hint: Great place to have lunch after shopping at El Paseo or after a visit to the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens. Plenty of parking.

My husband and I went here with a visiting friend for Sunday brunch around 11:30am. We all had a decent time there. My husband and our friend got the breakfast burrito, while I got the French toast. They ended up getting the burrito because they ran out of english muffins for they egg benedicts (sadly). Their burrito was very tasty and very different from the typical taco shop breakfast burrito filled with potatoes, bacon/ham and eggs. This burrito had black beans making it protein worthy. The French toast was okay. It had a taste of burned edges. Other than that, the French toast was good. They used a sweet batter but because of that burnt taste, it made my toast a bit bitter at some bites. The ambiance was great. Being seated by the window/patio area, it was nice seeing the outside. This restaurant is towards the start of El Paseo, so there was not to many people looking at you eat while they pass by the restaurant! The service was ok. We felt like our server was new because she did not know the menu very well (which was only 1 page) and because we had to flag her down for some condiments and the bill. When we got the bill, their mimosa was priced higher by $1 than stated on their menu. So that was disappointing. I did mention it to her and she was nice and removed the extra charges. Overall, it was a nice brunch but not the normal brunch buzz that we normally get from other brunch-known restaurants. Though brunch was not a hit for us, we do plan to try it out for dinner because maybe they may be more lively at different parts of the day.
We enjoy the Bistro. The food is good and service generally fine. It's a popular restaurant that we've enjoyed for a decade during visits to the area. I had veal with lemon caper sauce this visit. The dishes are all reliably good. There are good options for everyone.
Nice outdoor seating, music was a bit odd but the place was very beautiful. Prices are very high, food was decent. Not really worth the high price in my opinion. Wife said her chicken was very dry. I ordered the lasagna dish from the dinner menu, it was a solid 8.5/10. The sauce was a little sweet for my liking but other than that, it was a great dish. Waiter was very friendly.

Dined here last night (2 couples). My friends enjoyed their chicken dinner but my wife ordered lobster ravioli and she found the ravioli to be quite mushy and the sauce was very starchy. I had seafood pasta and the sauce was a bit watery and I thought I broke my tooth as I chewed on a few small pieces of broken mussel shells multiple times. There should not be any broken shells in the dish especially it’s not outright visible. But the bread was fresh and half price wine was good and appreciated

First lunch meal about a month ago: party of 4, we all had a great lunch meal! Super service! Second Service, Dinner, 4 different people. Very poor service, food awful. Third service, 3 weeks later, to give it one last try today for lunch. Table for four, lunch. This time I took photos. I made a reservation for 4 for 11:30 a.m. only to find website, yelp, Google maps all said they open at 12. I made an emergency call at 11:30 from the parking lot, with no one in site except my guests, and I was assured 11:30 was ok. I ushered my guests in for an early Mother's Day Lunch. Pleasant service people. We finally found a table we liked (sorry staff). One diner had a Club House Sandwich with regular fries, she was happy. One diner got a measly 1/2 Sandwich with half salad, seemed fine. One diner (me) ordered a Club House Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries. Halt! Fries were way overcooked. But Sandwich good! Last but not least Diner #4, a pizza aficionado, ordered the Pizza Margerita. When it arrived we all stared at in shock! Soggy, uncooked cheese pizza (still see the grated unmelted cheese), on top of which were four raw tomatoes with cheese blobbed on top. He cut apart the pizza and all the raw water and uncooked cheese and dough pooled into liquid disgungtinness (a word?). He didn't want to cause a scene so he managed to swallow down parts of two pieces. I told him that was hands down the worst pizza I'd ever seen and never would have eaten it, as did agree the 3 other diners chime in. So we gave Backstreet Bistro more that a fare shot. We will not be returning. I'm also not sure I would call it an Italian restaurant, most food was Americanized. Bye bye, sorry.
