John and Mary's on millersport Hwy there subs are to die for may be a tad bit expensive but they are worth every cent made of real ingredients . My pick for there is the steak sub made with real steak none of them steak ums lettuce tomatoes onions with mayo and oil so so good .

Really don't get these harsh reviews, one of the best places in Buffalo to get a sub and fries. Also has one of the best Friday fish fries (in taste and value) in town, and that's saying a lot. Never tried their pizza, not sure why other google reviewers where expecting great pizza from a sub shop.

Exceptional customer service, food was crispy as requested, everything i ordered was on my tray fast! Stopped between jobs and was in and out. When were in the area we will be back!

Makes a good sammich and fried food items...always check the special because it's quicker and less expensive usually. One of the few places to get fried mushrooms and fried pickles as well! Lots of room to eat in if you like, but pickup seems to be the most common.

Used to eat here all the time when it was in lockport and there subs are still great especially the steak and mushrooms "AWSOME"

I have had several different subs here and all were great! My biggest problem is figuring out which sub to order! Rolls are super fresh, and they are just the right size! Had my first sub in 1966, and never stopped coming back! My brother in law came in from Salt Lake City, and stopped at John and Mary’s as soo as he got his rental car!

I came here awhile back on December 20th, and I am making this almost two months later, so it may be a bit out of date. The food I ordered was called "The Intimidator", and it cost around $17. It was pretty large, I only was able to finish half there, i ate the rest later. The sub was overall OK. It had fries, chicken fingers, beef, mozzarella sticks, tomatoes and lettuce. The food arrived a bit colder than i would've liked, but it was still good. It came with a small fountain drink. I'll give it 5 stars. The Lady behind the counter (who I think may have been the Owner?) was really nice.

I have been coming to John and Mary's since we moved into the neighborhood in 2002. We ordered subs on the first day of the move. We have been hooked ever since. Everyone is so nice and polite, food is delicious and the restaurant is very clean and comfortable. My family and friends recommend them to everyone. It's family owned and that appeals to me. Friday fish fry is the best!!!! Try them yourself!!!!

First time back in WNY in years. Always their Royal Sub. But that sandwich has changed. Not as good as I remembered in the past.

This was a new experience for me. To be in a Pizzeria that has more other food than pizza. It was lunch time, so I got something really simple. They did a good job with it. The lunch was a grilled cheese and ham sandwich with sweet potato fries. The building is older, but that doesn't make the food taste bad. I think the looks of the building and decor along with the good tasting food make this a great place to eat.

The restaurant itself is quite outdated in appearance but it is always clean and welcoming with plenty of seating inside if you are not looking to take out. The food is good and for quite a while they made the best chicken finger subs around. Service is generally friendly but not overwhelmingly so... just good, not great. It's a good place to check out if you're in the area.

I think they changed there burgers. We won't ever order burgers from here again. Fish and tartar sauce were delicious.

Steak sub had hardly any steak on it,more mushrooms then steak

Not right for us. Overly breaded fried fish. Got great reviews that's why we tried it but the batter was a little thick for us, 4 orders so at least it was constant.

Subs are not what they used to be. They are all independently owned.

This wasn't a bad place to eat. This is the third time we have tried here. We bought 4 subs all which were pretty bland. I got a steak mushroom and pepper hoagie and it had no seasoning. The customer service here is very good though.

Typical old school deli. Staff is very friendly and the place is clean. Menu has a nice variety. I ordered the tuna melt and a side of fries. Nothing spectacular about the food. It was exactly as described: tuna on white bread with melted American cheese. I added tomato and bacon for an extra charge but it wasn't worth it. The tomato was so tiny and the bacon wasn't fully cooked. The service was quick so if you're hungry and don't have a lot of time, this is a good place.

I tend to like John and Mary's but lately it's been hit or miss. Usually Great fries, amazing bread and the absolute best veggie burger anywhere, but today I got a burger that was cool, the cheese didn't even melt and it was to say the least a very disappointing THIN burger. I have to admit, I also don't like being charged extra for a slice of tomato and also charged extra for a piece of lettuce on my burger. Personally, I think its a cheap and tacky move to nickle and dime your customers. Sorry, just being honest. Staff is generally friendly and good customer service.

Cool with me, located near where I live. Descent pizza, subs are okay. I do like the special subs like meatloaf sub and the Steak Bomb; not really sure of the name. Which has steak with house steak sauce, cheese, onions, mozzarella sticks, and chicken fingers; very hearty and good!

Idk man. Every place in that plaza including this place was just not good.. borrito bay had a mile long hair in my borriti, the pho place had an eyelash in my pho. On top of them only having wated bc their machine was broken. And this place empty as well as all the other places I named. Onion rings were good and that's about it. I got the steak sub which is my absolute favorite usually but not from here.. absolutely no taste? Just the lettuce I asked for on it really. I read alot of "good" reviews about each of these places too. So I'm just gonna assume yall dont know what good and or seasoned food is.

Overpriced, underportioned, living only on locals nostalgia.. got a stinger had 2 measly fingers and the thinnest layer of steak imaginable... Got an assorted sub at a later date.. again makes subway look like they give alot of meat.. and I think subway is a rip off. this sub was 3 more dollars.. Sad.. R.I.P.

Pizza slice was cold and seemed not fully cooked as most of the cheese was still in globs. The drink was cold and refreshing.

Honestly the steak sub I was served had to be the worse steak sub ever. Either the person who made it didn't know what they were doing or the steak sub at this location should be taken off the menu

Apparently they think it's OK to do Friday night fish fry and then use the same oil for the rest of there food. I ordered chicken fingers, pizza logs, and French Fries here on Saturday December 03, 2016. All of the food tasted so strongly of fish, it was disgusting. I ended up throwing out $20+ of food. I'd like to add that I've always gotten subs here and been happy. Good food, poor choice to be to cheap to not change the oil after doing a lot of fish, or better to have a seperate frier for seafood...

We ordered steak and cheese subs with oil and mayonnaise there was no oil or onions on it I noticed that the people making the subs do not have any hair nets on

Worst steak sub ever ..mushrooms were chewy ,onions looked like shoestrings ,and steak was on 3/4 sub no even distribution . And they forget the mayo ....shocker Called to talk to a manager and was she just walked out .

They're meat skimpers. No matter what you get it'll have less meat than other establishments.

The quality of food is horrendous

Went in for lunch, ordered 2 slices of pizza, so did my co-worker. Had to wait 10mins for the pizza, and when I opened the box, what I saw was basically mortifying. Pizza was clearly made hours ago, with some pepperoni thrown on top of it after we ordered it. If this place considers itself a pizzeria, it ought to be downright ashamed of itself. Never again will I order pizza from this place. If I end up sick tomorrow, I'll know exactly why. I give this place 1 star only because it's a building still standing on the side of the road. As I'm writing, my stomach is just CHURNING !!!!!!!

If you're heading down Millersport Highway and you see this place, just keep driving. I gave this place a try, and was put off at first by the overall scumminess of the restaurant, and was struck by the lack of any of the amenities a restaurant typically has, like flatware, napkin dispensers, and so on. I ordered two slices of pizza to eat in the restaurant, and even though the receipt clearly read, "FOR HERE," the cook decided that I wanted it "TO GO." I opened the box with the two slices in it and realized these were two thoroughly uncooked slices of pizza. Rather than trust this crew to take the slices back and cook them properly, I tossed the disgusting slices in the trash on the way out the door and headed over to the nearby Burger King. Definitely learned my lesson, I won't be setting foot in that place again.

I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich, it was rubbery and disgusting. The staff seemed,to be bothered by me asking questions about their menu. Won't go again

My son and I came in for dinner. The staff that took the order was great. The chicken parm subs we ordered were not very hot at all, plus the cheese was slapped on half on the sandwich half out and was hoping it would be real stringy when you bit into not the case. The old lady that was working with three young teenagers was not very polite to one of them. She asked the young girl why do you think you do this setting up a tray and the girl gave her an answer and said to her you need to shut up and let me speak at this moment. My son and I could not believe the way the older lady spoke to the young teen. We will not be back to this place ever again. Very rude way to talk to your young employees you have working for you. Also the subs were not hot at all. We have gone to other places and get hot subs hot.

Kyle... The one who cashed me out was so pleasant and wonderful....Everyone else seemed to be extremely irradiated and in a very bad mood. I asked if they have Parmesan cheese or red pepper flakes and they looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language. With the exception of Kyle all the other workers were rude and unprofessional. The pizza was subpar it was basically just thrown together. I work at a nearby business parkway and have been wanting to go there for a while. So I checked it out... I was very disappointed with the result... Although, I will chuck it up as a bad day. I would definitely try it again but I certainly hope that the customer experience would be a little better.

Just because you're affiliated with the great John & Mary's, doesn't mean you can run their good name into the ground. The subs at this location have ZERO meat on them and the one female manager is consistently RUDE. I spent $10 on a chicken finger sub that had TWO small chicken fingers on it. And this happened the last time I ordered as well so this is officially the last time we order from them. We put up with the nasty manager for the decent subs but now that the subs are just bread and lettuce, we'll be sure to take our money elsewhere.

Ordered a chicken finger sub at 2:30 was told 10 minutes arrived at 2:53 still wasn’t done. The cook said just let her “put it together” she proceeded to grab used gloves off the counter I asked her can she changed them SHE HUFFED, ROLLED HER EYES, and then asked me why?? I explained because they are used and I don’t know what was touched with them. She told me NO she will not changed them. I said NEVER MIND KEEP THE SUB.. her attitude was the nastiest I have EVER encountered in the fast food restaurant.

I've been going to John and Mary's for over 40 years. When I come back to visit family it's my first of many stops. Tonight was the worst. The tuna sub was soggy, watery and the roll was mush. The Italian sausage wasn't much better. I will give it one more try, but it was so sad.

Food taste spoiled and rotten. Prices are extremely high. Dirty floors and don’t dare look by the fryers. Would not recommend.

Went there for a slice of pizza on lunch and they said they half bake it. Well it tasted half baked. Next time you should bake it a bit longer. Very doughy.

Have not ordered from here for years but decided to try it again. Ordered 6 different subs and everyone but one person was very disappointed in quality and size of subs. The steak in the grass sub ended up in the garage. The other 4 subs were so light on the meats. The only good sub was the turkey club. Will never order from here again.

We ordered two chicken finger subs way ahead of time because we had a schedule to keep. When we got there, the restaurant had given our food to someone else with the same first name (apparently this restaurant has never heard of last names lol). Then, when we received our Hot and Medium Chicken Finger Subs, there was barely any sauce on either of them, and they had no spice whatsoever. Total waste of time and money, never coming back.

Girl making the sandwiches was very impolite and grumpy. Curly fries were cheap and undercooked and the chicken fingers were horrible and tasteless with hard chunks of fat. Never again. In reply to the owners comment: After reading comments to other customers reviews I can see where the issue lies.On my visit there were two employees working at the time and only myself and 1 other customer in the restaurant. Working long hours and being short staffed should never be an excuse for poor/rude customer service. Maybe keep in mind the old saying...without our customers, we wouldn't be here. Another thought could be that if you're going to reply to any customers review maybe atleast try to come off in a polite manner and not the way you did to me and others. Maybe this is part of the issue and where it stems from. Always lead by example.

Staff sucked. Went to call in and they picked the phone up and set it on the counter. Tried to call again and they took the phone off the hook entirely. Then decided to just go and order in person, we heard them arguing over answering the phone. No one answered it and the restaurant was completely empty with six people behind the counter. One of our subs was made incorrectly and the fries were complete mush. Usually love going there. Definitely not returning.
