We only got to stop in for one beer, but this place doesn't disappoint. Local dive bar with cheap drinks and lots of eye candy on the walls. The House Special was the PABST SMEAR: a PBR and well short for 3 bucks. You can't beat that.

After having seen a friends human rights violated at a so called "community" "gay" bar on Monroe and then just going over to Lux afterward... I can't stress enough how awesome this place is. Instantly felt welcoming after not being in for a long period. So nice to sit around the fire and have nice people around. There was food being cooked on the grill for NYE. More water out. They really take care of the community as a whole here. The gay bars here in Rochester I can say are not at all good for the whole of the community as they claim and not all up to the caliber of how simplistic it is for the crew at Lux to just simply be a COMMUNITY establishment. Lux is truly a gem in Rochester. They don't have to falsy advertise being one either. They just are. There are only a handful of actual community bars and have to say Lux is the best. The gay bars could take note from Lux as they are truly not welcoming places. Why a good portion of the patrons at Lux are LGBT+. So nice to see such a mix of people with no hang-ups. No real agendas. Just Lux being awesome.

First time coming to Lux. Absolutely loved it! Came down for Drunken Pumpkin Party and Artist Hangout hosted by Magnus. The inner building is large enough to have a nice quiet corner if that's what you're looking for? The bar tender was very attentive and helpful (they do indeed have ketchup) Whomever did the Halloween decoration did a great job. The outside area is wonderful. It's spacious with good awning coverage. Has a fire pit which was an awesome feature and wood that you can grab from The back fence. Had a great time. Try the warm apple cider. The perfect drink for fall weather. I will be making this bar my regular destination

Recently in Rochester for work. I was told to go here by literally every person I met. It did not disappoint and I spent quite a few nights smoking by fire, karaoke and an awesome Halloween party. Met some people I’ll never forget and made lots of memories. I will definitely be visiting here again.

Killer bar. Great setup and decor. Being from Coney island myself it really fit the vibe of a sideshow bar. The layout is great to sit with a date or mingle with others. Plus Giant back yard. We always have to make stop here when in town.

Lux lounge has so.e of the cheapest drinks in town. LGBT friendly space with hard working staff. No food is served here but they do have food trucks stop outside regularly and they have never stopped me from bringing in my food. Each day of the week offers something fun. Personally I enjoy karaoke on Wednesdays and occasionally craft night on Mondays. There is a new event help here called Lux Art Fux, where local artists gather to show off and sell their creations. There is also a model for this event that patrons can do sketches of. The decorations are unique and eye catching.

Cool place if you’re in your 20s or early 30s. Not much to it.. takes a while for drinks. Cover fees are on the board so be ready for that.

It's ok. Very specific kind of crowd. Not exactly friendly people in there. But pool table is nice. Plus outside seating and fire and comfortable couch inside.

I really like the bar lux that being said the bar tender and staff have always been purposely rude to me and all my friends and often intoxicated. What could be a 5* bar is ruined by the fact that I go and feel discouraged from ordering a drink. My first time in the bar I asked for a hard cider they said what brand and I asked what's your standard angry orchard to which I was told "if you don't care you'll have a gingerbread cider how about that". More of my friends have had similar bad experiences. other examples, is this drink sweet? "Come back when you know what you want". What would you recommend "don't come to the bar if you don't drink". Usually when we arrive the bouncer is drinking at the bar and only asks for our IDs after we get our drinks.

Shoutout to the one bartender (with the sideburns) he's my favorite bartender in the city. I come here quite often because it's scuzzy, weird, and drinks are cheap, which is my favorite kind of bar. That being said, I believe the owner bartends and she's VERY rude. Written some reviews about it before, but I'll keep doing it, I don't care, I know I'm not the only one. My friend came to the bar after I had been there for probably 10 minutes and hadn't been served (I'm paitent I'm not complaining, they were busy) but she comes over and serves him first. My friend says "oh, my buddy was here first, could you serve him first?" And she glares at him and storms away. Only unpleasant person you'll run into at this bar and I really wish they gave a shit what people say on google reviews.
