Had a very tasty chicken katsu sandwich here. The bread was fresh and soft, chicken was juicy and nice crunch on the outside. Also love the pickles for extra flavor and crunch. I’ll have to come back for their other dishes as well.
Katsu is quite good. Better than most food in the area! Coffee is solid as well although they don’t have soy.
Nice sandos! Chill, kinda fast casual atmosphere. Walked in and the savory katsu curry gravy scent in the air got me instantly stoked for repast. Beer available
Heard great sandos We order here for lunch I like the cleanliness, and modern Japanese style of cooking croquette or the egg and everything else The counter gentleman reminds me of my Japanese teacher in high school, Mr. Morikawa I included aftermath photo
We recently visited this charming Japanese restaurant and had an amazing experience! Despite its small size, the menu was impressively diverse, offering both meat and vegetarian options that were flavorful and fresh. We especially enjoyed their specialty drinks and refreshing fruit smoothies. The atmosphere was cozy, with the choice of indoor or outdoor seating, which added to the pleasant dining experience. Prices were very reasonable, ranging from $12 to $17 per meal. Overall, a delightful spot that we’d highly recommend!
Until we get Japanese 7-elevens, I believe this is the closest we will come to authentic egg salad and fruit sandos. I’ve read about their lines, but we were lucky enough to stop in right at opening on a Holiday weekend and didn’t have to wait at all. Bonus, seating was available too. They have daily specials that were very tempting, but we stuck to the classics. 10/10 would come again.
The sauce and crispiness of the chicken katsu was on point. The chicken was well- seasoned and the cabbage added a little more crunch and flavor to the dish. The fruit sando was perfect. The fruit was sweet and fresh, while the light and fluffy cream added the perfect balance, so the overall sando wasn't too sweet. Both dishes 10/10. The egg sando was good but lacked seasoning.
I got there on Friday at 4:30pm to grab a bite before the Giants game. I went with the chicken katsu curry. It was ready in under five minutes! The curry was a bit lukewarm, but the chicken was crispy and delicious. It was just the right amount for one person. The place was chill and not too crowded. But as I was heading out at 5pm, it started to get busier.
They have a great strawberry sando! The bread is soft and fluffy, the cream is light, and the strawberry is sweet. This time the sando came with mango and those were also sweet. We also got the curry and it was quite savory. We came during a weekday evening and it wasn’t busy at all so the service was fast and they serve your food to your table so that’s nice. The inside of the restaurant has a warm interior. It is a narrow cafe but there is tables on one side and bar seating on the other.
Not that easy to find parking around here but just try for some metered parking. It's not too big inside, only a few small tables inside and outside. You order at the entrance. I showed up at 11:50am on a Friday and there was no line but a few groups eating inside already but right at noon or even a few minutes before, there was a longer line out the door. They were really quick with getting us our food! The katsu was so yummy and curry was great and quite filling. Overall big fan, definitely good to come if you can make it before noon!
February 2024: Stopped for lunch and shared the chicken katsu with curry sauce and the spicy tuna don bowl. I enjoyed the tuna bowl a lot. Ingredients tasted very fresh. Great place in the neighborhood! 6-18-21: Came here for lunch and tried the menchi sandwich (chicken is grounded and shaped into a patty) and the spicy tuna don. Both were delicious and hit 🎯. Seating outside was pleasant and not too crowded. Would definitely come back again for more delicious food.
Came here on a Monday night and it wasn't too packed - it's got a super cute vibe on the inside too, feels very authentic. Good: - The chicken katsu sando blew my mind! It was so so good and it was so juicy and the portion size was great - I felt like I got a lot of food even when I had just that one entree. It's also super aesthetic. - The food comes super fast! Bad: - Very casual, serve yourself type of place! Overall this place was a really nice hidden gem, tucked in a convenient location and easy to get to.
Amazing lunch spot! The chicken was incredibly juicy & tender. The bread was super soft. & the miso dressing on the salad was delicious! The sandwich was also very filling and I was definitely stuffed afterwards. We also got the strawberry fruit sandwich which was also very good. I can’t wait to go back to try the other menu items!

Second day in a row that I’m coming here for a matcha, probs the best one I’ve had across SF. $6.52 a cup is less pricier than what I’ve found.

Best Chicken Katsu Sandwich ever. The chicken is juicy and crispy, the sauce is perfect. Topped with delicious shredded cabbage and lettuce, then the star milk bread. It’s the best white bread ever, so fluffy. The chicken cut is also like part white meat, part dark meat. We loved it, can’t wait to be back. I was able to order pick up on DoorDash for no fee before a Giants game, it’s a block away from the park. Was ready in 15 minutes and when I arrived. Worth every penny, can’t wait to try the egg salad sandwich and curry sometime. Only downside is they are not open on weekends, only Monday-Friday. Give this place a try. There is a stoplight out front and a side street that made pick up fairly simple.
The food was good and very indulgent. One of the things I appreciated most about the experience was the atmosphere. It’s a great place to eat. There’s outdoor tables, indoor tables, even a bar which is very comfortable. The staff also went above and beyond in terms of service, readiness, and overall charm. I definitely felt like I was eating at a quality restaurant in San Francisco.
Their chicken katsu is just perfection. Super authentic flavors. The mustard is a real deal (not tasteless American mustard) and super spicy.
I've been here many times for dinner and every single time the food has been great. I especially love the chicken katsu sandwich and egg salad sandwich, but I've tried almost everything on the menu and everything is good. Service is ridiculously fast and the servers are nice. Great place.

Wow! Such a yummy place. Keep coming back with family and friends before Giants or Warriors games and coworkers during lunch. The staff is incredibly friendly and provide quick service. I loveee the katsu curry plate, but have had the katsu sando, the tuna bowl, and the fruit sandos. Recommend them all!
Potato korroke has a good crunch and flavor to it, first time trying. The katsu was a good solid item. Exactly what to expect. The egg Sando was a little bit of a let down. Did not have much seasoning. The milk bread is fun and fluffy. Was good to try this place out!
Nice little cafe with that specializes in Japanese chicken katsu sandwiches and curry rice. We tried the katsu sando, katsu curry, and egg sando sandwich. Highlights definitely include the katsu sandwich, as I think this is by far the strongest product we tried for lunch. The chicken is perfectly fried with a nice crispy breaded texture that doesn’t separate from the meat. The bread is toasted well and the sauce is a great match for the chicken sando. A must try if you’re visiting this cafe. No sides were included in any of these dishes. Egg sando was alright. I thought the bread was too thick which resulted in a dry sandwich. A bit underwhelming especially for the price ($10+) and no side. Katsu curry was good and portion was generous. I would’ve preferred more spice and a better hot sauce option. Again the chicken is the star of the show. Service is great and incredibly fast. It was wonderful to sit outside in the public parklet and share a lunch with the wife. Parking is a pain around 1p on a Wednesday. They also have indoor seating for ~10 folks. Would recommend as a nice lunch option but the price and value isn’t as high as I’d like. Highly recommend the chicken katsu sando though!

Counter service Pretty flavourless curry..overpriced, small portions. $21 for chicken katsu curry with rice before tip. The chicken quality is actually decent to good, the curry is where this dish falls short.
A few people recommended this place. Got the beef gyudon which was tasty, but we really came for the katsus: they had a nice texture but the flavor didn’t really hit the spot. The egg one was good, but would’ve liked a bit more sauce/flavor on the chicken katsus. Miso soup was good.
