Such a friendly and inviting place! The staff were super kind and welcoming. They made sure I understood what I was ordering and even stopped me from getting too much. The duck was great.
Complete with complimentary tea service, this is hands down one of the most authentic and highest quality restaurants in China Town. My family and I have made this place our home base for Peking Duck on every trip we’ve made out to SF.
Traveled from Utah to SF in order to see my friend for his birthday and found this lovely place while walking around Chinatown! We found that eating here works best if you order many different things and share them, which the rotating tray in the middle makes super easy. Top dishes were definitely the beef chow mein and the fried rice, but everything was amazing! The staff were polite and helpful, and service was fast. Would recommend!
Genuinely I have never eaten at a better restaurant in Chinatown than here. The service is absolutely wonderful, the food is immaculate, everything about this restaurant is seriously to die for. My children and their childrens children will eat here and if this place ever closes down my soul will go with it. People who clearly have anything bad to say about this place have never experienced the joy and wonder of being able to eat their Dim Sum Sampler and actually crying because of how delicious it was.
A wonderful establishment — one of the few places where you can enjoy a proper meal after 8 PM. The soups are excellent, and the crab is prepared absolutely perfectly. The staff is very friendly, and the service is outstanding. Considering the quality, the pricing is simply perfect. Highly recommended!
We had a work anniversary event. On the recommendation of a colleague and friend, we reached out to Grant Place for our catering needs. First and foremost, they were such a pleasure to work with when it came to putting the menu together. They were kind enough to suggest what dishes would keep well throughout the evening and which dishes could be kept at room temperature and which ones needed to stay hot. That was extremely helpful to me because I wanted everything to be perfect for our guests. They went above and beyond when it came to their service. The food was delivered on time and they were so kind and helpful, going beyond the scope of our contract to make sure that everything was indeed perfect for our event. Our guests absolutely loved every dish! We ordered mostly dim sum, some noodles and some special dishes cooked without gluten ingredients for our gluten-free guests. The Siu Mai was the best I’d had in forever. For your next event, don’t hesitate to cater from Grant Place — your guests will love and thank you for it!
Great food and great service. They made me feel welcome from the minute I stepped in the door, service was quick and the food was delicious. I ordered the Steamed Shrimp Dumplings, Vegetarian Spring Rolls, Pork Pot Stickers, the Crispy Pork and a beer. It was all truly delicious. AND it cost under $40… so good Rob Recommends: Crispy pork it was sooooo good
I was walking around Chinatown and saw this place was still open past 10pm as everything else seemed to be closed. Yes the service here does need to be better, but they were not rude to me. It was just one server tending to a full house and he did forget me when it came to my check, but I didn't mind that part. Overall, I will definitely come back here for the Peking Duck. I got some soup also, which was really good. But the Peking Duck really sold me the most here.
Not bad. Their horfun lacks salt. But their crispy pork belly amd char siew are good.
While roaming Chinatown we came across this awesome spot. We had a lot of different stuff. The sesame chicken was delicious. Soup dumplings were really good. Everything we got was so good. Bok choy , chow mei fun, chicken fried rice and spring rolls and soups. Got to sit in the outside dining area. Definitely would come back again.
Not a bad dim sum spot, we came here after reading a couple of recommendations and wanted to have a bit of a bite to eat. The pork buns were okay, a bit more on the sweeter side than I’m used to (probably a NY thing), scallion pancake was very good, and the steamed shrimp dumplings were good. General Tso more in the savory side rather than sweet and spicy-ish. Everything was very fresh. Overall I’d probably go again cause it’s a very quiet and chill spot compared to the other parts of Chinatown and had decent prices!
The food was so so. Watch out for items listed as seasonal. That is a recipe for rip off if you don’t ask ahead of time. A plate of veggie stir fried pea sprouts ended up whopping $24. Not the kind of price I expect in Chinatown. There are definitely better options out there.
We were not impressed either by taste or portion. The BBQ 2-item sampler was mostly chicken not much duck. The 咸鱼鸡粒🍆 was all chicken with a hint of salted fish flavor. The portion was also not very big that our family of four finished six dishes. Oh they don't come with rice so another $2.5 for each small bowl of rice.
A fine walk through Chinatown you’re bound to cross this place. It offers fresh and fair portioned foods, that are worth the price. I enjoyed the outdoor seating as I dig the hustling vibe of the city. The tea was acceptable but really the dim sum is where it’s at! While it can be hard to pick out one it’s okay to try three. Frankly, after a hard day of work around the pier an order of wanton noodle soup with the roast duck really energizes the spirit! With that said the service leaves a lot to be desired. I’ve come here for the food not the service. Needless to say, the times I’ve eaten here, I’ve felt some level of insult. It’s a good thing I’ve the patience for outright disrespect. No tip for bad service, no tip for rude behavior, and if i could I’d have tipped the cook the only one deserving of gratitude.
Very rude and discriminatory service towards people of color. My fiancé and I came in and placed an order. When I asked for the sizzling beef, the senior woman with the very short dark gray haircut abruptly corrected me and said, “It’s called sizzling beef.” I nervously laughed and repeated it the way she said it. She then proceeded to run her mouth, yelling across the restaurant, to another employee, while i was still ordering and had the another employee finish taking our order. Like what????? As we were sitting down for dine-in, she stops by our table then asked how many people were dining in, and we stated said two. Shortly afterwords, she comes back, with ANOTHER white couple trying to SEAT them where we were sitting and told us to get up, we needed to take our food to go instead of having it plated like everyone else. When we asked why our food couldn’t be served the same way as the other customers, another employee with short hair brought out tiny plates and told us we could plate the food ourselves. At that point we asked for a refund and left. The entire experience was uncomfortable and very unprofessional.
