This was our first visit to Burns steakhouse and we celebrated my wife’s birthday! What a classic steakhouse! The inside of the restaurant was so well decorated, and the staff was extremely friendly. Our waiter was super knowledgeable, and our food was delivered to our table perfectly! After our dinner, we did take a tour of the kitchen and wine cellar. The two gentlemen that gave us the tour were super knowledgeable and we learned a ton about the restaurant. After our tour, we went to the desert room and hadour very own little intimate booth. I have the café con Leche, and my wife had a coffee. Both were extraordinary! I had the Pistachio cheesecake and my wife had one of their signature ice cream desserts. What a special night and thank you to all of the staff of Burns steakhouse! What a great birthday celebration!

Wow what an experience! This is not just a dinner folks, this was such a treat from the impeccable service, to the tour of kitchen and wine cellar, all the way to the completely new table/server for dessert upstairs! Steak was cooked great. They were nice enough to separate our steak we were sharing onto 2 plates for us. Drinks were great and again service was top notch. Would absolutely recommend!

My good friend and I celebrated his birthday on Tuesday 12/2 in the lounge (where a more relaxed dress code is accepted) around 6:30. We decided to come in last minute but it was a great spontaneous choice! We got sat right away at a nice booth in the corner, the server was very fast and friendly! I ordered a tequila cocktail and my friend enjoyed an old fashion. All of the food was amazing and we shared some dishes as well, so good! Loved the atmosphere and people watching!! And last but not least, we of course decided to go upstairs to the dessert room and take a kitchen/wine cellar tour…. Don’t forget to ask towards the end of your meal! Thanks so much for making our experience special, see you soon.

The food here really is the best of the best. The first time I found out about Bern's, I was watching a show about the top 10 steakhouses in the country, that's when I decided I had to go! For years I have wanted to come to Bern's but never found myself in Tampa. Finally my 30th birthday came around and I decided enough is enough and made a reservation for Friday at 10:30pm. Right from the beginning they made me feel like my day was special. As soon as we got seated the manager came over and said they had a present for me. It was a book on the history of the restaurant, but not JUST that, it actually includes many of their delicious recipes! What a fantastic gift! Our waiter Lee was exceptional, he gave fantastic recommendations to the table and paced the food courses perfectly! I got the taste of Burn's which includes 4oz of an aged NY strip, an aged Delmonico, a 100 day aged Delmonico, and a braised beef rib. When I took my first bite of the NY strip I realized that the show I saw many years ago really didn't do Bern's justice. There's no way to truly state in words how amazing the food is, but I will try my best. As I took a bite of each steak it just got better and better! I thought it truly can't be possible to be more delicious but sure enough each steak was. The 100 day aged Delmonico is truly the best steak I have ever eaten in my life! After we "finished" dinner (we wanted to save room for dessert so we boxed up all the leftovers), we were taken on a tour of the kitchen and the wine cellar. The wine cellar was truly impressive showcasing the largest private wine collection in the world! We were then led upstairs to the dessert room. I ordered the creme brulee which was absolutely amazing! When I thought nothing more could blow me away, they walked out with a special birthday ice cream and candle so my friends can sing me happy birthday. That was truly the icing on the cake to a fantastic birthday. Thank you Bern's team for the best birthday dinner!

Bern’s is so much more than a great steakhouse, it’s an experience. Make sure you request tours of the kitchen and extensive wine cellar from your server, as well as make a reservation for dessert afterwards. For those unfamiliar with Bern’s, dessert is served upstairs at different tables, with a separate host station and different server than your meal. Generous courses and sides make this a great value and terrific must-experience when in Tampa.

This is one of the most immersive, unique restaurant experiences you’ll have in the US. A big part of us coming to Tampa was visiting Bern’s and it did not disappoint, it over-delivered. Beautiful ambiance, unrivaled wine collection, great cocktail program, crazy caviar selection, steaks are top notch, the kitchen/wine cellar tour is amazing, and the dessert room experience is the cherry on top. What we ordered: cocktails, bottle of French red, Hackleback caviar, filet, porterhouse, bread pudding, crème brûlée. Everything was top-notch from host stand, bartenders in lounge, service staff, and dessert cream upstairs. An absolute must-go steakhouse experience.

Bern’s Steak House is the definition of a high-class, five-star dining experience. From the moment you arrive, the valet parking and impeccable service set the tone for what is truly an exceptional evening. The interior is elegant and timeless, creating an atmosphere that feels both luxurious and intimate. The service is nothing short of five-star—knowledgeable, attentive, and refined without being overbearing. Their wine list is legendary, quite literally a Bible of wines, offering an unparalleled selection for both casual enthusiasts and true connoisseurs. The menu is extraordinary, featuring unbelievable options for fresh seafood alongside a wide variety of premium cuts of meat, all prepared to perfection. Every course reflects precision, quality, and attention to detail. One of the most unique highlights is the dedicated second-floor dessert dining experience, which elevates the evening even further with indulgent desserts and an unforgettable ambiance. Bern’s is not an everyday restaurant, but if you have some money in your pocket and want a truly world-class dining experience, this is a must. Highly recommended for special occasions or when only the best will do.

I dine at steakhouses frequently, and without question, this is the best I have ever experienced. This is far more than a steakhouse—it is a true dining experience. We made reservations for six people three months in advance, and that planning is absolutely necessary. Plan ahead. I ordered the Delmonico, which was cooked to perfection. The meal includes French onion soup, a salad, a baked potato, and vegetables, which eliminates the need to order additional à la carte sides. The bar program was equally impressive, with superbly crafted drinks. Following dinner, our exceptionally skilled server took us on a guided tour of the restaurant as a lead-in to dessert. During the tour, we learned that servers must work every position in the restaurant before earning that role—a level of training that clearly shows in the service. The wine room was remarkable and houses what we were told is the largest wine collection in the United States. Dessert was an experience unto itself, presented by a separate wait staff, and felt like a finale rather than an afterthought. Photos are included. Highly recommended. Following dinner, the highly skilled waiter took us on a tour of the restaurant as a precursor to dessert. The tour guide explained that a person must work all of the positions in the restaurant before they can qualify to be a server. The wine room was amazing, holding the largest collection in the United States. Dessert was a separate experience in itself with different wait staff. Pictures are included.

The food is always amazing. The service by Kyle in the dining room and Julia in the dessert room was amazing as well! Definitely worth the $ spent and glad to keep our yearly tradition alive.

We celebrated our son’s 11th birthday at The Dessert Room, and the experience was nothing short of delightful. We were seated in the Champagne Room, where Morgan provided attentive and thoughtful service throughout the evening. The Bless Your Heart, Peaches cocktail was exceptional, and the cheese selections were equally impressive—definitely not to be missed. Overall, it was a wonderful evening filled with special moments and lasting memories.

First time here and it was amazing. Our waitress Dyell for our dinner was outstanding. Answered all our questions gave excellent recommendations and was attentive to all our needs. We took the kitchen and wine tour, it's a must do if you have the time. Also the dessert room was exquisite. Our waitress Adelaide was awesome. Great food, excellent service. A birthday celebration for my husband and Bern's did not disappoint. Thank you. Will definitely be back.

We went for dessert only. It was incredible. Great place to celebrate something special with loved ones. I recommend going on the tour too. They take you through the kitchen, wines cellar, and dessert room. I have to recommend the bananas foster. It's not only delicious it was fun to watch them prepare it tableside. Very fun place.

There’s a reason why this is one of the top steakhouses in the United States. Eating here is not a meal. It is an experience! Be sure to tell your wait staff that you want to do the kitchen tour and see the wine cellar. Their wine inventory is the largest for a restaurant in the United States. Try to save room to go upstairs to the Harry Waugh dessert room as it is well worth it!

An experience from the beginning till the end! Great selection of steaks that are served with a soup salad and two sides. I love the macadamia nut dressing. Upstairs and dessert room is an exceptional variety of desserts, and a unique experience with live piano. They have everyone you could ever think of. It is a very classy, beautiful, wonderful dining experience.

it’s Berns what else can you say, expect to spend a good amount of money. However, you will get great bang for your buck in terms of food quality, portion size, and customer service. Pretty much a white-glove level waiting experience, you can expect to be walked through every detail of the menu should you need.

If you are looking up Bern's you already know you need to go. An amazing culinary jewel in Tampa, FL that you should make a reservation for. The steak is top shelf but the French Onion Soup, various Appetizer options, and the incredible dessert room makes the dining experience at Bern's a must try experience. I have never met anyone who has had less than a 10/10 experience. My hot take is split a larger steak entree (with accompanying dishes) to allow yourself to try more of the menu. Overall, one of the best restaurants in Tampa and a spot you should visit when vacationing in the Cigar City.

I’ve heard many very positive things about place and it significantly exceeded my expectations. I only went for the dessert room, but every single aspect of my experience was elite and upscale. The ambiance of the restaurant is dark and intimate. We were seated in our own private booth area. This gives the whole experience a much more personal feel. There are were plenty of great dessert options and also many drinks and some cheeses to choose from. I got the adult float which is bourbon and coke with vanilla ice cream, but I substituted the coke for root beer. It was very delicious. The first dessert was I got was the maple bourbon creme brûlée and it was undoubtedly the best creme brûlée I have ever had and one of the best overall desserts I have had. The other people I was with got the chocolate olive oil cake and an assortment of cheeses with little pieces of toasted bread, which they said were good. I also got the baked Alaska and king Midas. The presentation of how they do the baked Alaska in front of you is very entertaining. The king Midas was a nice carrot cake with ice cream and hot fudge. Those were both very good but the creme brûlée was still my favorite. We also got the baked Brie which is a large portion. The texture was extremely smooth and it was very delicious. I also got a buffalo trace old fashioned, which was very good. Overall, this place is amazing. The value you get more than makes up for the high prices.

A Total Experience. Not your typical high end steakhouse. This is a full on production that inckuded massive amounts of food. The service and the ambiance is exceptional, all staff dressed to a pin with tailored suits and exceptionally well trained. Atmosphere is old style steakhouse and just lovely. Patrons play the part too with their dress. Too much food for us. So much comes with the entre that you really need to stay away from appetizers. Also....the Desert Room (really rooms and and entire floor) should not be missed. So retain room for that. FUN is the one word description I would give it. And decades in the making, so they know what they are doing.

My husband and I planned a weekend trip from Daytona to Tampa specifically to try Bern’s after hearing so many glowing reviews from friends and social media. The interior is certainly unique and you can tell it once had a “wow” factor, but much of it feels dated now, with worn chairs, faded décor, and crowded, noisy dining rooms. The lobby was chaotic upon arrival with no clear direction on where to go, and the host stand felt rushed and unfriendly. The pre-table drink service in the lobby was a nice idea in theory, but difficult to navigate while standing shoulder-to-shoulder with other guests. We were seated in a loud room next to the bathroom with a large mural that looked faded. Our server, Harrison, unfortunately offered service that did not match the reputation or price point of this restaurant. He barely stopped at the table, never checked our steaks for temperature, and we had to flag him down multiple times for refills or additional drinks. There was little warmth or conversation, no check-in about how we were enjoying our meal, and no clearing of plates—even though we saw other servers doing so at nearby tables. For a restaurant that claims extensive staff training, this felt like a major miss. The steaks themselves were also underwhelming. My Chateaubriand was tough and looked like an end cut, and my husband’s Delmonico was extremely fatty. The included sides (onion strings, green beans, French onion soup, and the house salad) felt more like something from a diner than a high-end steakhouse. The upgraded lobster bisque and Caesar salad were just okay, and the house salad tasted limp and far from fresh. The oysters and stone crab were excellent, however, and the dessert room was genuinely enjoyable. Our dessert-room server was warm, knowledgeable, and made that portion of the night feel special. The cost is also important to mention. Dinner alone was $500, which already included the restaurant’s mandatory 12% server tip. The dessert room added another $100, making our total for the night roughly $600. For that price, the food quality and service fell far short of expectations. I would have shared my concerns with management, but no manager ever came by to check on tables. While Bern’s has an interesting history and the dessert room is worth experiencing once, the rest of the evening didn’t reflect the reputation or the high-end pricing. We actually made reservations at Bull & Bear in Orlando while dining because we wanted a guaranteed great steakhouse experience the following weekend. For us, Bern’s was overhyped, and we wouldn’t return based on this visit.

Berns earns its legendary status on paper, but the execution—at least this time—felt like a mismatch for date night. We were seated in the front room, which is arguably the least romantic place to attempt human connection. The lighting was bright in a way that exposes pores *and* flaws in conversation, the noise level was competitive, and the tables were packed so tightly that intimacy never stood a chance. Despite sitting directly across from each other, actually talking felt like an Olympic event. Adding to the chaos: a nearby couple who seemed to believe they were hosting a live commentary track for the entire room. Lots of giggling, lots of pointing, zero vibes. Date night: officially deceased. Our server was kind and accommodating, but there was a lingering sense that his spirit had already clocked out for the evening. The food itself was a mixed bag—our steak was cooked beautifully and genuinely delicious, but it was aggressively oversalted. This isn’t a one-off either; it’s my second visit, and the saltiness is becoming a pattern rather than a fluke. At this point, Berns is starting to feel less like a reliable classic and more like a gamble. The undeniable saving grace is the dessert room. Every single time, it delivers: impeccable service, excellent desserts, and the kind of atmosphere that finally lets you exhale. If the rest of the experience matched that level of care and intention, this would be an easy higher rating. As it stands, Berns is a 3 out of 5—iconic, but inconsistent, and no longer my first choice for a proper date night.
