Delicious food. Had the seafood delicious. Tried the enchiladas and some rice and beans. 100% authentic and delicious.
Fantastic food, been multiple times and have never had a bad experience.
I live in Lake County and will only eat Mexican food at La Cocina. I am originally from Southern California where there are many quality Mexican food restaurants. In Northern California they are few and far between. So far, in Lake and Mendocino County, after eating at many, this is the best Mexican food restaurant I have found available and the prices are very reasonable
Nice spot! Jessica was super accommodating to a vegan request. The drinks were not only beautiful with great presentation but also very tasty!
I visited this place last week and I liked it, will come more often.
We stopped by for a quick dinner, and everything was excellent. Very friendly and prompt service and delicious food (really good horchata). Will be going again!
Heard great reviews about this restaurant and visited with my Father this week. In a strip mall, this restaurant succeeded in providing a friendly, welcoming vibe right upon entry. We were greeted by a sweet young girl who waited on us, probably still in high school. Ordering the Taco Salad with tasty seasoned small chunks of beef and the Fish taco platter, we absolutely loved the food. Dinner menu had a great variety, and service was excellent, Manager also checked on us, everything was thumbs up. Kudos to the chefs, the presentation and quality of the dishes was above my expectation. Growing up in Ukiah but living in LA for the past 30 years, I can say this place would fit right in the big city and do very well. Very glad Ukiah has this place, looking forward to my next visit and wishing the owners all the best.
This place is over-the-top! Really great food and an incredible variety of unique and delicious dishes. Staff are friendly and attentive.
Went to Starbucks next door this morning and randomly found this place. My wife and I came in for lunch and had a Chile Verde and an Enchilada Verde. Absolutely phenomenal food, service, and awesome branding / atmosphere. We fell in love with this place. Will be coming back 100%!
The Flautas Poblanas are my absolute favorite!!! The creamy poblana sauce is delicious! We never go wrong with Taco Tuesday also! The Service is great!
Fantastic food! Once we ordered it came out way faster than I expected. The food was hot and tasty. I order the Camerones Bravos (Grilled Shrimp with a sweet and spicy sauce with rice and beans) The shrimp was cooked to pefection!
Stopped by there yesterday for late lunch/early dinner, staff was friendly and got quick service, I ordered the shrimp Fajitas, nice serving portion, large delicious shrimp and plenty of it, good tasting sides and corn tortillas! Some times is hard to find good tortillas when you have grown up eating authentic Mexican cuisine. Price was very fair as well. I travel a lot but if I come back to this neck of the woods I will definitely stop by again!
The food was fantastic, and the owners were awesome!
Small place but big flavor and excellent service. Friendly helpful and cheerful staff. Servings are big and prices are very affordable. Highly recommend! Can't go wrong here.
we arrived early lots of seating, half way through our meal the place was full. imaginative and tasty menu.
La Cocina is one of my family’s favorite spots in Ukiah! The staff is always so welcoming, and the food is consistently fresh and delicious. I especially love their kids’ menu—it makes dining out with my little ones so much easier and more fun. It’s a place where we can enjoy a casual family dinner, and I always recommend it in my Unlocking Ukiah guide because it’s such a great local gem for families. This is the BEST taco place in lake or Mendocino county. They pay attention to the details. It’s so authentic and so flavorful. Everything I have ever tried on the menu is a hit. They never miss and the staff are amazing!
Got here at 9:30am and there were already 4-5 big tables having margaritas and beer. Well, then I will join too! Joanna was our server, and she was awesome. She and her counterparts were very attention. If I just glanced their way for a second, one of them would come over to ask if I needed anything. Food is really good, reasonably priced and good fresh quality. Parking looked easy, although we walked over from a nearby hotel. I think I had a mango or peach margarita, and it was GOOD. Would definitely come back again.
Very good food. Friendly staff and a nice hidden gem in ukiah. Picture was from a chorizo breakfast dish.
We enjoyed the service and attentiveness of the staff. The food was really good, the serving was a good amount! Highly recommend it!
The food was delicious. I had the chilaquiles poblanos. The staff was super friendly and attentive. We stopped to have brunchbat about 11.30am and it was very calm and peaceful.
Can't believe we wait this long to try this place, we were here for breakfast ordered Chilaquiles, huevos rancheros and kiddo had tacos food are delicious and very authentic the service is superb. The price was super reasonable compared to local eatery in this area so far I had great experience dining here and definitely be back again soon.
Great food, friendly servers, and fun atmosphere. Driving from the Redwoods to San Jose, we stopped in Ukiah for dinner and searched for "best places to eat in Ukiah". We chose La Cocina and it was a great decision. It was packed on a Thursday night. We saw a table with what looked like a hot fajitas served in a bowl and asked what that was. Molcajete! We split that with an extra side of rice and beans. We also asked for a sweet and spicy drink and he recommended the mango margarita. We got the non-alcoholic version and it was delicious. We enjoyed our experience and highly recommend La Cocina! Enjoy!
The food is super fresh. And really good. Those are the best fish tacos I've ever had.
Great food, sweet, attentive waitresses, good vibe, and cheap prices. What's not to like? This is my new favorite Mexican restaurant in Ukiah. My wife had the Chicken Quesadillas and I had the Verde Enchiladas. Both were very good! Our waitress seated us immediately and gave us menus. Once we ordered our food arrived in just a couple of minutes. Our waitress kept our drinks topped off and was always there when we needed anything. The bill was about half of many of the other Mexican places in town and the food was much better here. If I could, I would give this place 6 stars! I will definitely be coming back here. Tell your friends. This is a place to support!
I stopped by for lunch. Atmosphere is simple. Plenty of room for tables. Doesn't feel crowded. Service was attentive. I ordered the chili relleno plate. Good portions. Great relleno. All for a fair price. Left very satisfied.
Good food especially the fish tacos, the margaritas are not too sweet, beans and rice get a pass, ceviche just needs a lime squeezed on top, the sprite is actually from Mexico 👍🏽. I honestly thought I was going to get some taco bell stuff but was surprised. Two thumbs up 👍🏽 👍🏽
My dad got the carne asada and said it was the best he’s ever had— very high praise from a carne asada lover!
Pretty good! Friendly service. BIG portions!
First time in and everything was awesome! The ladies who served us were so nice and everything tasted incredible!!!! I wish we had saved room for dessert!!!

I always judge a mexican restaurant by the simple things like the beans and rice, and this place somehow makes them like my grandma. Very authentic, and the food is fantastic. It's always a good time when I go there.
Stellar food here and some of the best margs I’ve had. Reasonable prices and great service. Very impressed
This was a great meal for the price, we both got Chimichangas a chicken which had so much flavor as well fried pork belly. For the price and quickness of serves, La Cocina was a great choice for dinner. It is like 40 feet from our hotel and couldn’t be happier by eating there. I highly recommend stopping by for dinner or a meal.

I would describe this as more tropical mexican with multiple seafood options and most meats are marinated. It was good but not a tone of options for me personally. Staff was warm and friendly

BE AWARE OF ADDED FEES!! When the bill came at the end of the meal, there was the normal line for a "Tip". Since the food and service were both excellent, we wrote in a generous tip. In looking at our bill later, we noticed that they had charged us 18% "Auto Gratuity" automatically (and no, we didn't have 8 people) and $3 for using a credit card. Since a "tip or gratuity" is based on the customer's desire to thank the restaurant for their quality of food and customer service, we didn't feel that it is right for the restaurant to automatically charge us for a tip/gratuity and then ask for an additional tip at the end of the meal - especially since there was no mention of the added fees at anytime we were there (either verbally or written down somewhere noticeable). We ended up paying a gratuity of almost 50%!!
Al Pastor doesn't taste like al pastor. They were friendly. We can't finish eating it though so that kinda sucks.
While traveling, we made a stop for dinner at this restaurant. They serve complimentary chips and salsa. Chips were too thick, but not too bad. I ordered Pollo asado and my husband some tacos. I enjoyed my dinner, although, it seemed they added too much water to the beans :/ Husband would have liked to have more meat in his tacos. The place is small, but with good ambiance and clean! Staff was helpful and friendly.

Terrible. Just terrible. I ordered a couple of fish tacos. The menu said nothing about jalapenos but they were on them. I can deal with that but not only were the battered fish pieces TINY but they were burned. There was no one (0) in the place so when they brought it out pretty fast it was questionable. They couldn’t have fried fish that quick. So they drop em back in the oil to warm them but end up burning them black. This was to go, I doubt they would have served it for a dine-in order. Naw not again.
I am totally embarrassed, as I was the one who pushed and suggested this place to the rest of my group. We arrived just post a rush, and therefore I understand a little time before being greeted but it was ten plus later. Twice our server offered to bring something, never did. Despite there being eleven tables, three servers and not every table filled - I guess it was bad luck for us. Everyone, except I, loved their food - which was the Chimi and Fried Fish tacos. Mine was the chicken flautas, which I found to be bland.

Food was ok, adequate at best. Server never came back and ask if we wanted anything else, preferred to chat and eat with their friends who were hanging out at the counter. Not coming back.
I spent almost $18 on a burrito that was supposed to be stripsteak, beans, rice and cheese. Unfortunately I got almost no cheese even though I paid for two kinds. Almost no steak and almost all rice. I would not go here again unfortunately. Just overall very disappointing The server was super nice but other than that just overall extremely disappointed. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place
