Take.Eat.Easy Berkeley Reviews
Awesome place!! I’m traveling to UCB and find this place on map, I love the food here!!highly recommend!!
Awesome lunches. Food was tasty with good mix of sweet and savory flavors. The sauces in Hai Nan Chicken were delicious. Eel rice bowl came with seaweed salad and corn- what a great refreshing combo. Update: visited the new location at the student hall. Spacious sitting areas and more food options including dim sum and other snacks items. Very good value and nice portion.
Very delicious authentic Asian cuisine. The pork and duck combo were magnificent. The owner/operator is super nice. Hong Kong ice milk tea is a great sipper on a hot day. I'm not sure about seating, but I took it to go, so it wasn't an issue. Very reasonable prices.
Very nice owner, the chili oil chicken rice is very good and affordable. The Hong Kong style milk tea as well. 10/10 would recommend, it sells out fast
Authentic cantonese food from hong kong, and the owners are so friendly and nice! :)
clean, fast, tasty. also, I ordered today’s special: Chicken rice, which comes with a free hot milk tea.

Really tasty!!
Extremely wonderful customer service! My food was preordered a day in advanced, and the owner had it ready for me right on time! He also gave me a free water bottle. His kindness really made my day. The food is also delicious!
This place has the best milk tea around Berkeley! If you want that authentic taste, this is the palace to go!
Really happy to see a HK-style place so popular among students! I love their iced milk tea, lemon tea, and char siu rice. There are some limitations from not having a full kitchen in Esh though.
The chicken and sauces were fabulous. The dark soy sauce was sweet and savory and love the balance from the tangy chili sauce. The chicken was well-cooked and tender. The rice was not really impressive, not chewy or very flavorful. But overall I love it! The guy was very nice.
Awesome spot for restaurant quality Asian food to go. They should have a few more tables or a larger shared seating area with the other restaurants nearby. Also, I thought I got the pork and duck combo but there only seemed to be duck.
This isn't a "wow, this place's food is so incredible" 5-star. The food is just alright, perfectly serviceable and cheap. This is a 5-star for filling a perfect niche the area circa Sather lane desperately needed: very fast, cheap, decent food. Doesn't hurt that the char siu bowl they introduced today was actually shockingly delicious, with dark mahogany pork that wasn't overly sweet or packed with food coloring.
Less than $14 for a big bowl of yummy food! It was really fast and very convenient. I’m vegan and they had two options (both tofu). I highly recommend the spicy tofu if you enjoy Szechuan peppercorns. It came with white rice, mushrooms, and a couple pieces of steamed cabbage. Delicious, thank you!! I’ll be back!!
On campus and easy eats. They’re quick and the food is good. The chicken is real rotisserie. I got the Japanese curry chicken and rice. Seating does get crowded with all the students around but is not impossible to find. You might just need to go outside
Fast and good Chinese restaurant inside the student union. It's food like my grandmother would make. We had their spare rib special bowls and the braised tofu bowl and sticky rice. Plus milk teas. All delicious.

Roasted duck is great. BBQ and pork ribs are okay.

Thought to try this place for its 4.9-star reviews. I don't see what justifies that. I went on Cal Day, when the streets were teeming with students and parents, yet this place had almost no business. When I went past Noodle Dynasty, on the other hand, there was a line out the door there. Seems the students knew something that I didn't yet. I got the Sichuan Spicy Chicken Rice. It was barely spicy. Be careful eating this stuff: they leave the bones in when they chop up the chicken, leaving a dangerous choking hazard for the unknowing. Better yet, go eat somewhere else. There were like six pieces of chicken and a pile of white rice, for $14. The chicken wasn't even hot; it was slightly cool, like, not the sort of temperature where you should be storing food. The dining area isn't dedicated to the restaurant, it's just a conventional college public area that a lot of students seem to use for study.

went here because nothing else was open. they only were serving 5 things out the menu and we paid 50 dollars for 3 people. the food looked questionable and did not look appetizing AT ALL. the taste was alright. it was a lot better after we added chili oil and soy sauce. kind of reminded us of cat food TBH. would not come here again this is just MY personal experience. the buns were good tho. we got the #5 pork and shrimp because they had nothing else prepared..

The food wasn't good I order chicken and duck rice bowl. The rice didn't have a chicken taste and too dry, the chicken meat was dry, and the duck taste not good.
Food was bland. And I was being overcharged for the milk tea and the BBQ buns even though the price board clearly listed their prices. The lady told me different prices. I won’t recommend this place and will never buy food from the dishonest owner.
