Sal's Restaurant Brooklyn Reviews
I really love SAL’s I have been going there from a child and even as a adult I still live for the food.Sal’s is such a nice person and her never kiss a beat when it comes to preparing your food. It will be filled with so much love and many grateful favors that will leave you full and satisfied. I will recommend Sal’s for any time of the day, his food is for the soul and he’s such a humble person to this day.I love you Sal’s thank you for feeding me throughout the years, it was worth every bite.
Old School neighborhood spot. No Frills , just good food.
Great deli style diner with lots of options and fast service. They prepared a grilled chicken on a hero in just a few minutes, and were accurate with how I ordered it. The employees were friendly and the place seemed well kept despite how busy it was. Will definitely be back here!
This was my first breakfast in Brooklyn and it did not disappoint. The turkey and egg on a bagel was so soft and delightful. Sal's is 🔥
Best casual breakfast spot in the neighborhood. Excellent sandwiches from a family owned counter. Personally, I'm a sausage, egg, and cheese on a croissant kind of guy. This place never fails to make me happy.
Love sal's he don't let no one else touch that grill he makes great food, especially breakfast he can take 5 different orders and make everyone right idk how he does it but he's great at it.. He has been here longer than I've been on this earth and probably hasnt been there a total of 10x if that.... Don't go there looking for no pork either another reason I love sal's UPDATE: I haven't been in a while but went recently to see that no covid protocol are being followed when they once were. It's a small place and there was about 8 ppl standing inside and some right at the glass where the feed is sitting and no one had on a mask not even Sal the only person in there working. So he's making food, dealing with the money, with only one glove on his hand that hasn't been changed and the other free and touching food, money and everything else and using the same 2 spatulas for everything on the grill where is where a lot of the food is touching so if your allergic to anything this isn't the place to eat. He used to have ppl come in to order and stand outside but it's too much going on there for me now..
Update: This place is a gem. I can’t believe they are still here. Has to be the one of the oldest restaurants in NYC. Proud of them for surviving Covid. ———— I've been walking past this place for over a year now and finally decided to stop in. I was not disappointed. When I looked at the menu and saw fish and grits, I knew this had to be the kind of place I had been looking for. Being from Michigan and having lived in Atlanta, I felt like I was no longer in Brooklyn. Or rather I believed the owner when he said that they have been in business for over 30 years. I had the fish and grits, delicious! Coming back for more breakfast and that fish sandwich.
For breakfast I ordered the BLT. Delicious, fresh and quickly prepared. Friendly service too. Would recommend.
Everyone was friendly, the prices are excellent, big portion sizes, large menu with a lot of options but not overwhelming. Service was fast and the food is delicious. Very limited seating but well worth it
Perfect easy comforting breakfast sandwich! I enjoyed my ham cheese egg on croissant.
First time trying ther sausage egg and cheese and it was perfect so much flavor I’ll definitely be back🙏 guy working the grill told me they opened 1984 🔥 very cool dude
So happy I found this place. The fish and grits was delicious. The chicken cutlet and turkey sandwich were also perfection. Generous with meat and very reasonable prices, everything made quickly and fresh to order. Everything is halal. Can’t wait to try everything else

This place is the best place to eat in crown heights. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
I love this place. I eat from it every morning.
Amazing local gem! The sandwiches are absolutely delicious, all Halal, and made with real care. Super friendly service that makes you feel right at home. Places like this are what keep the neighborhood alive—highly recommend!
Amazing food, Sal’s never disappoints. Been coming for years to this black-owned halal restaurant, after my dad first introduced me, and I have never had a bad experience. Sal and Mohamed are very sweet and helpful — will always be a local staple!
Best bagel cream cheese and turkey bacon sandwich ever
A humble shop that serves amazing food and treats their guests fairly. The men working there are kind and patient. I saw the shop keeper feed a person in need. He did not hesitate. Support local businesses like Sal’s shop. Has definitely become my go to breakfast spot.
Everything about Sal’s is great- the food, the workers, and the prices. A true fixture in the neighborhood. You’d be hard pressed to find a better egg and cheese sandwich anywhere.

My first time here and I almost ignorantly interrupted Sal's morning prayer, but his regulars gently stopped me. They have enormous respect for him. I ordered a breakfast sandwich which was delicious and made with love, but what got me was Sal's deadpan humor. One of the regulars asked if Sal remembered to put jelly on his roll and without missing a beat Sal said, "no jelly, only ketchup with syrup". We all started roaring with laughter as Sal gets immediately back to work without a wink of recognition. Easily the coolest cat in Brooklyn. Won my heart immediately 🥰 I'll be back tomorrow.
Unpretentious counter serving delicious sandwiches and breakfast options. Their Ham, Egg and Cheese croissant sandwich is the best sandwich around! EDIT: I have since moved out of NYC and sorely miss Sal's. Any chance y'all want to open an outpost in Dallas? Texans need to be introduced to places like this as well as proper bodegas! ;)
What can I say about these guys....food amazing and it's halal! Everything is good on the menu but make sure you try the double cheeseburger with turkey bacon, extra onions, extra cheese and mustard and ketchup....oh and the home fries which are to die for! These guys are super friendly and very welcoming, Uncle Sal is an absolute legend, definitely the go - to place in Brooklyn for halal comfort food!!!
Sal’s has been around forever. A staple in this gentrifying neighborhood I partially grew up in and spent time hanging out in. I moved back to Crown Heights a few years ago, the grits and fish are still as good. Only thing I hate are the guys posted up in front (took a star off for that). Other than that, it’s solid, quick breakfast and lunch eats.
