Chicken Express Forney Reviews
By far the best Chicken Express experience I’ve had in my entire life. Older woman behind the counter was so helpful and got our order out really fast. I’m not even exaggerating when I tell you our food came out within 3 minutes and it was steaming hot. She forgot to bring out our rolls and to make up for it gave us an extra one. Amazing job, Chicken Express!!
I ordered drive through 2 piece chicken, roll, mashed potatoes, & Poppers. I had forgotten how good those poppers were because I hadn't ordered them in a long time. Chicken was juicy, pretty fresh for how late I ordered, and not overly salted. The mashed potatoes and gravy is good every time. They didn't have pies available but they offered to cook one for me. That's customer service. Every time I order drive through, the associates are all friendly and kind. I appreciate you.
Normally when I come to Chicken Express, the food can be hit or miss—sometimes I’ve received wrong orders, cold food, or missing items. However, my last few visits have been a big improvement. The orders have been correct, the food hot and fresh, and the customer service surprisingly great. It really seems like you all have stepped things up over the past couple of months, and it’s much appreciated!
I always drive through the Forney Chicken Express and I'm never disappointed in the quality and price of the food. And the variation, including mashed potatoes and gravy, corn on the cob, fried fish and chicken, cole slaw, sweet tea, and more. I highly recommend this restaurant.
I stopped by to pick up dinner for my wife and granddaughter. We placed our order with only a slight wait. We.drove around to pay and was informed that our order of 20 mixed tenders with mashed potatoes and gravy with a side order or okra and another large order of mashed potatoes totaled 62.23. Needless to say this will be our last trip to any chicken express. Thisnis way too much for chicken tenders and a few sides. The family size mashed potatoes were in a container that was barely enough for one person let alone a FAMILY. Don't waste your hard earned money for what you get here..Don't get me wrong the food is OUTSTANDING but not for 62.00 To top this allmoff when I got home there were no rolls as there were supposed to be at least 4 for a family meal to share.
Normally I don’t review fast food places. In this case, I’m reviewing the service. I placed an online order. Waited, went to the drive thru (because no where did it say you had to come in and everywhere pretty much offers drive thru pick up). Fine, I’m irritated but accepted it. I go in, at 554. My food should be ready. Only to be told it had 13 more minutes. When I said the app said 555, he points to a screen and says “yeah I just updated it”, clearly irritated. At this point, I’m frustrated. The store was in no way busy, one person in the restaurant and one in the drive thru that got there AFTER I ordered. I had already waited 10 minutes, which was a fair amount of time. So, visibly irritated because it’s a bit ridiculous at this point, I go back to my car and I’m writing this as I wait. I’ve grown up and moved several times growing up and as long as I can remember, this is the only chicken express that ever seems to have issues with customer service and doing things in a timely manner. This is the first time I’ve been here in over a year and nothing has changed. I’ll drive to Mesquite from now on. Thankfully we only eat here once every so often. Hopefully the manager or owner sees this and realizes training is needed. Edit to add: Go in to finally pick up my stuff. I say thank you. Get an eye roll and guy walks off to the table to eat his food. Girl behind the counter was in her phone and had earbuds in, no greeting just mean mugging. So unprofessional and rude.
Ordered chicken tenders which were extremely salty. Chicken tasted likes it’s been reheated several times. The fries were bland and overcooked. The service wasn’t that better either. Will not recommend!
I ordered 3 piece chicken and 2 piece catfish. The lady told me the cook just dropped my catfish, so there's a bit of a wait. I got my food and the catfish was the only thing fresh. Everything else was old. The chicken, corn fritters, fries....ALL OLD. My entire order should've been reported to the health department. Except for the fish. Never again.
This is my fourth time at this Chicken Express in the past four years—and unfortunately, every time has been a disappointment. I had hoped that waiting six months before giving it another shot would lead to a better experience, but that wasn’t the case. The chicken tenders were overcooked, the corn nuggets were cold, and I didn’t even receive the gravy. I couldn’t bring myself to eat the food—I ended up giving the chicken to my dogs. It’s not even about the money. It’s the fact that when I decide to pick up food to give myself a break from cooking for a family of five, I expect to at least be able to relax and enjoy something decent. What frustrates me most is the time and energy wasted. It’s a shame, really. I’ve eaten at Chicken Express locations all over Texas, and they consistently meet expectations. I don’t know why this particular location just can’t seem to get it right.
No stars. I got a doordash delivery and the mash potatoes they gave me look unedible fries look old and they did not include my gravy. Called the restaurant I was told to contact doordash. Doordash does not prepare the food. Never again will I order here my mistake. Never again! Worst customer service.
I ordered by phone for pickup. When I arrived at the drive-thru microphone and told them I was picking up an order, I was told I had to come inside to get it. I asked why, and the response was simply, “That’s how we’re operating.” That makes no sense. I’ve ordered by phone before and picked up at the window without any problem. If the drive-thru is open and I already placed and paid for the order, there’s no reasonable explanation for forcing customers to come inside. I let them know they lost my business over this. Policies that inconvenience loyal customers—especially without explanation—are frustrating and unnecessary. Very disappointing experience
Very bland, never fresh, never hot expensive low quality crappy food. Gravy was very very watery. You'll wait in a very long line for hours for no reason. Don't waste your time nor your money. Avoid like COVID.
Worst location, they were empty but 1 customer infront of us. Took forever to take our order then they make us wait. 20+ mins someone comes out and ask what we waiting on. OUR FOOD OBVIOUSLY. I asked her if it was going to be much longer & she said they’re busy frying fish. Not sure what my order had to do anything with it. I didn’t order fish. Definitely will not be back to this location.
Regrettably, the culinary experience was unsatisfactory. I ordered fried gizzards, mashed potatoes, and corn on the cob. The gizzards were undercooked, the mashed potatoes appeared to be old and stale, and the corn tasted as if it had been prepared in a microwave. While the staff demonstrated commendable kindness, this unfortunately did not compensate for the deficiencies in the food preparation.
The food was just soso. The service is not good. We ordered chicken tenders with gravy and sides and most of the gravy spilled in the bag, a complete mess. The lid was cracked and not completely on, total neglect by staff.
I would love to try it. Went through twice in a week and couldn’t get my order taken. Wasnt like they were busy or anything. No cars in the parking lot and was told to wait. I ended up driving off. This one’s going the way of the one in Terrell, that is, the one that used to have a sign in the window warning about refusing service and never taking an order either.
I will never go back here the chicken is alway old n hard never what time u go to this place. For a chicken place in the dfw area to not have fresh chicken is crazy or it be seasoned i mean put some salt on it least. And asking to wait for fresh chicken they look like it's a problem.
The customer service was fine as usual for me, but the food was terrible. I ordered the 2pc fillet fish meal and had to park. When I got my food the fish was way too salty and not tolerable at all, the fries were cold. What a disappointment, I was on my lunch break and couldn't go back. I always try to give this chicken express a benefit of many doubts and poor quality food, but it never changes! Last time going here, so pathetic!
The lady at the drive-through was mumbling so much and was just rude when I got to the window. I won't say her name because I know some people have bad days. But the food was absolutely disgusting. The chicken was tasteless and honestly made me sick. Also there was 1 single fry in my box with some weird redish pink stuff on it and that same stuff was on the inside of the box. Very disappointing. This location needs new management or new employees who actually take pride in where they work. Chicken Express is a great place, and this was definitely a big disappointment to their name.
I have only been to the location a couple times and it’s definitely my least favorite location which sucks because I now live in Forney. Monday we order a 12 pcs meal. And gizzards. That I had my daughter pick up. When I got home my family already ate. Chicken was so salty horrible. I could barely eat it. But the texture was raw but no blood. My house hold woke up the next day sick. We had food poisoning and I got it the worse. Throwing up. Frequent bathroom trips. Body aches. Headaches. My four year old had the same symptoms. My nine year old and her dad symptoms were not as bad as ours. I couldn’t figure out why my 17 year daughter didn’t get sick. She later told me that she went and bought chicken from Julio’s so she didn’t have the same chicken as us. I want my money refunded fully. Today is day four and I’m finally got the stretch to write this review. I just tried to call but no answer.
First time here got a number 30 regular with Mac and cheese, fries and mini poppers. The chicken was cooked but the batter was spotty and not adhered any. The mac and cheese was blan and over cooked. The fries were absolutely delicious The poppers were good but more than half of them had almost congiled cheddar which made them horrible. The buns were good, the gravy was without flavor or consistency, it was basically water with a hint of white color. We ended up throwing it out and feeding the chicken to the dogs and decided to get taco bell instead which was very busy but no complaints with the food in comparison. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this to anyone. The food was sub par, if your at the best western behind them do yourself a favor and do one of the other options you'll thank yourself. The service was okay the gentelman that took our order definitely seemed to have an attitude, and made an effort to seem uninterested and spoke without intention or volume and mumbled the whole interaction. Hopefully this is not what the franchise gives to customers on a regular basis but what we experienced we all decided it was the first and is the last time we will eat here or any of the other stores. Hopefully this helps someone in the future to avoid our fate from this resturant.
